Came in to have my nail gelled before a wedding reception. Called ahead and asked if they can do mani pedi at the same time - they said yes, so I came. Turn out that they could not do it at the same time. This appt went over 2 hours and I missed my other scheduled appt (one hour later). The result was awful! 2 days later they started just falling off and now we are 7 days later and I have only 3.5 nails left. I asked for French and the gel color was not the nice pale pink but rather candy pink and the french line was not the same to all fingers. Thin / Thick, round / triangle - even though I asked to change the color right away - they did not. The result was so bad! Stay away.

I went to Dash today (3/11/2017) after seeing a friends nails and complimenting her. I've always been a fan of yelp because a lot of the time you can get a very good idea about a place. I'm also a firm believer in writing a review when my experience was great! Before going to Dash I did read the reviews, some I agreed with and others I just didn't. When I first walked in I was nicely greeted by the owner and asked a few questions regarding UV gel. I used to go to Coco Nails in Riverside and loved it, but felt their prices were WAY too high. They mentioned the UV full set was $60, you should know this is extremely reasonable for Stamford. My next question was do they charge extra for shellac polish? I find shellac gel is by far the best and lasts the longest. I also feel the shellac gel is much better for your nails. I was instructed to sit down and pick a color, Dash has TONS of great colors. They have numerous different brands of gel and probably 50 pallets to choose from. A nice, young guy named Jason sat down to do my nails. One of the reviews on yelp mentioned how amazing Jason was so I was quite pleased when he sat down. From the start of the process to the end he was fantastic. Since i didn't have the UV on my nails already, there was a bit more applied, but they still look SUPER natural. He was gentle, spoke very nicely and was absolutely meticulous. I'm quite the perfectionist so I loved how he made sure each nail was the same length (when comparing to my other hand) and he was sooo gentle. He was engaged in conversation but made sure to pay special attention to my nails. I picked this gorgeous emerald green sparkly color (everything is better with sparkles). In the past when I had UV on my nails I would go every three weeks. Each person is different, but unless there is something majorly wrong I think it's a bit overkill to go every two weeks. Beyond pleased with the experience!! Do yourself a favor and go see Jason! You won't be disappointed. As far as some of the other comments..... 1. There was mention of the shop being dirty - NOT true. Dash is very large, tons of stations and I felt it was very clean. 2. There was mention of the employees speaking in their own language - Somewhat true. This happens everywhere. I'd be surprised if you were to come across a shop that didn't do that. The girls looking on were very sweet and paid me a few compliments. They even helped me pick out a color. 3. Great selection of colors, gel included. 4. Nice massage at the end. After your first visit, they give you a card which specifies your visits and entitles you to a free 10 minute massage after eight visits. I think this is great customer service.

Throughout the 5 hours it was mainly waiting due to them overbooking appointments over ours and accepting walk-ins while working on our nails! As my cousin was getting her acrylic nails done she had to stop and wait as her nail tech took on a walk-in without finishing hers first. That's not even all, an older woman came in and asked if there were any available seats. She was told no but to come back an hour later. She came back about an hour and a half later and was told again she needed to wait another hour. So like any of us would have done, she got up and left angrily and disappointed. We got the more expensive uv gel set because we were told they "last longer" yet the next night for the wedding- both of our nails popped right off as if they were press one from walmart. I have found a girl there I like and for some reason I am MOSTLY told she is too busy to take me and I have to take someone else to get in at the time I need - even if its days before hand. Well okay... Today I asked for the girl I like, and was told she was not available, okay a bit last minute.. The girl I asked for was NOT busy at the time I went in and she looked at me sadly, as if to apologize. Why do they lie to good loyal long time customers, who tip well? Its crazy. Oh well.

I really wanted to love this place as I just moved to the area but the pedicure I got the other day…read morewas awful. For some reason the woman who gave me my pedi cut my big toe nail extremely short and in the process really cut me up and did some damage under the nail bed. I'm on vacation now and walking hurts (not great when you want to walk on the beach and around town) and I've been waking up at night with throbbing pain in my big toe. I'm now just praying it isn't infected. What is the point of getting a pre-vacation pedicure if it ends up hurting you and making you miserable and worried the whole time? I should mention the man who gave me my manicure did a nice job and was very nice but I can't risk going back to a place that may injure me or worse, give me an infection.

The technician Yuna was very professional and very skilled as I have some physical limitations and she was excellent and accommodating and did not make me feel awkward when helping me in and out. The other staff were also very attentive. The environment was inviting and clean. I went at closing so quiet was a given. I was very happy with the service from Yuna. I was in an out in 17 minutes. My one comment; because I have physical limitations, sensation and touch issues of the feet, legs and hands, as well as allergies to polish, I cannot enjoy the benefits of a relaxing pedicure and never a manicure. I would like the proprietor to consider a no polish, no message a step down from the price of a standard pedicure and charge maybe $10 to $8 less for the time not spent and the product no used. However, I will go back, during a normal busy time to see if the professionalism, skilled technique and attentiveness remain. I will recommend this establishment if anyone asks me. Thank you for the last minute accommodation, it was a change of pace to be treated as normal.
