The woman who did my nails lacked nail file experience. She used the coarse side to simply reshape my bare nails. She kept slipping while doing it, which caused nail breakage as she was filing. I asked for round (which was already the shape of my nails). It ended up being oval. I have shorter nails, so oval doesn't work unless the sides are extremely short against the skin, which happened and it's painful. And oval is being kind. Some fingers have an extremely curved side due to slipping and making the nail shorter and the other is more round. She also used the cuticle cutter and actually cut off chunks of skin at the tops of my fingers and sides. 3 of my cuticles bled and are still tender days later. I asked for 3 coats of polish and she fake dipped the brush in the bottle for the third round. At the end, every nail had a sharp feeling to it and I had to have her re-file all of them. Instead, she took the cuticle cutter and pulled a chunk of skin off my finger again. I was actually in awe. One final comment. She did not respect that I didn't want a massage or eyebrow wax. She kept asking and telling me I need it. The pushy comments were not appreciated. With that said, I will not be returning.

Once I was finally seated, the experience only got worse. The nail technician completely damaged my natural nails. She aggressively used the electric file and dug into my nails, creating deep ridges in the nail beds. She also filed the sides down so narrowly that each nail ended up jagged, uneven, and poorly shaped. It honestly felt like she lacked basic experience. I immediately went to my regular nail salon to have the gel removed, and even then, gel is still embedded in the grooves that were carved into my nails from the over-filing. I've been told it will take around three months for the damage to fully grow out. When I expressed how upset I was about the condition of my nails, management refused a refund, saying they couldn't refund the manicure because the technician "took her time." Taking time does not excuse destroying someone's nails. I had to ensure management that I also tipped this nail tech before having them agree to refund me. This was my first and last visit. If you care about the health of your natural nails, avoid this place. The damage caused was traumatic and completely unacceptable.

Usually my pedicure takes 30 minutes, with careful cleaning under my nails. This time it was done in approximately 15 minutes (I watched the clock). There were very few customers inside and I was the only customer having a pedicure. Needless to say, I was surprised at how quickly my pedicure was done. My husband dropped me off inside to see how crowded it was. He drove up the road to buy gas. By the time he returned a few minutes later, I was paying at the register. "Done already???" he exclaimed in disbelief. "Yes" I answered shaking my head. As an aside I tip 50% or $10 for a $20 pedicure. This time, I wish I gave her $5. This salon stands out compared to others I've tried in the Stamford and Darien area. While the prices are a bit high, the quality makes it completely worth it. I was then escorted out to pay without my pedicure. I spent so much money on my manicure that I let it be. And my manicure has already chipped and I'm only on day 6. In general I'm very disappointed because I have heard such wonderful reviews. It may be the type of salon that caters to its regular clientele.
