Honestly, I had such a good experience here. First of all, LEO the server was super nice and welcoming. Bro was like 6'0", curly-haired, buff, Salvadoran, and had the brightest teeth I've ever seen. He definitely knew how to make a good first impression. I ordered the chicken and waffles thinking it was just going to be some regular chicken and waffles, but I was completely wrong. The chicken was actually AMAZING and way better than I expected. Everything came together really well, and I was genuinely impressed. The service was terrible. I was served lukewarm, burned coffee. When I asked to have fresh coffee my waitress disappeared. She came back halfway through my meal and told me they were brewing new coffee and it would be another 7 minutes. I was finished eating by the time she came back, at which time I refused the coffee. I asked her to remove it from my bill but she did not. The food was not exciting (very dense biscuits and mushy hash browns) and the waitress never refilled my empty water glass. When we paid our bill and got the receipt from the waitress (including a $7 tip that she did not deserve!) I thanked her and told her to have a good day. She did not acknowledge either me or my husband, but handed him the receipt and walked away. I do not recommend this place and will not be back. read more

This was my first experience at Seven Mile cafe. It was the best option I've had after my plasma donation. The wait staff was amazing and Carman was a beautiful spirit that made the experience worth it. I do recommend this establishment for families as well. We really wanted to love this place, but it is not without its shortcomings. We expected there to be a wait on a Saturday, but at least we were able to join the waitlist online. Once seated, our waitperson arrived quickly to take our order. The food took a while to come out and sadly when it arrived it was not hot. In fact it almost seemed as if it had been sitting a while before it was brought to the table. We ordered several things off the menu. The best being the French toast! It had an amazing sweet vanilla flavor and the edges were caramelized. If we return, I'll definitely go with that. The hash browns might have been amazing, had they been hot or at least warm. Lastly, the coffee underwhelmed. We had to wait on this as well, and as you might have guessed, it too was lukewarm. Nothing fancy about the decor. Pretty standard for a family-style breakfast restaurant. I hate giving poor reviews, but I always tell it like it is. I've had it with this place and I was until recently a 7-Mile loyalist. I'm so sick of paying $100 for 2 people just to get undercooked hash browns. My partner sent theirs back because they were annoyed, I just ate through mine and decided I'm going to stop coming here and stop bringing my friends and family here and find a new spot. The service is 10 out of 10 and it's got a cool vibe with a variety of different folks in here and the wait staff is amazing but I have absolutely had it with undercooked hash browns. You have two levels. 1. Undercooked 2. Burnt beyond edibility. OK, do you want the real truth? I should've known when I looked at their menu and over half of it was vegan that they would not be able to do a breakfast that was worth a damn! I ordered some kind of biscuit sandwich and the biscuit was so freaking dry that you couldn't eat it! I mean, it hurt my throat because I dry it was. Overall lackluster experience. Seven Mile Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant with several locations in DFW area. We went to the Mesquite location on a Saturday morning at 1030 and it was busy but no wait. Restaurant is fairly large and open, lots of hard surfaces so it's kinda loud. Large menu with lots of vegan and GfF options. Full coffee bar, adult bevies, and baked goods. Our server was lovely. We both ordered egg scrambles -- one Denver style, one veggie. Asked if we wanted hash browns crispy and of course we did! Food took a good amount of time to come out so be patient. Everything else we saw come out looked great! Staff were attentive while we waited and overall seemed to be providing great service. Our food was not great. Both scrambles were very watery, had a mushy texture, and were lacking in flavor. Hash browns seem to be deep fried. (That's NOT a complaint!) The biscuit and toast were good. Some of the food had a faint fishy taste. Overall very disappointing. A note on drinks -- They do not filter the water. If you are from the area, you know that sometimes the tap water can taste funky. (Imagine the smell of lake bottom.) It's really off-putting to take a drink of tea or water and it smells of pond scum. So order accordingly if that's something that bothers you. read more

I've been recommended to go here by 2 close friends for a while now so me and my girlfriend decided to go here for her little brothers birthday breakfast. That was genuinely one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had. We got sat and it took 5 minutes for us to get greeted, okay that's understandable since it's busy, it happens I get it. We ordered drinks and my orange juice came out about 10 minutes after I ordered it and then the other 3 drinks came out in increments of about 6 minutes each after the orange juice. The food also took long to come out which again is understandable since it's busy but what really did it was how it tasted. The food was the one thing that could've made this a 3 star experience at best and instead it solidified the 1 star rating, no flavor whatsoever in any of the dishes we got. The tenders for the chicken and waffles literally look like frozen tenders that got air fried, the gravy had no flavor, the side sauce for the breakfast club tasted like water. And when we got the bill my orange juice which was $5 on the physical menu was all of a sudden $8? At that point we were over the whole experience and didn't feel like asking, what I feel the worst about is that we only tipped $15 on $120. Being in the industry I always take care of everyone who serves me and the ones I love. I understand a server can't control everything else that happens but what they can control is how attentive they are and unfortunately we didn't even have that. Even if it's busy there are little things one can do to show a table they're being given attentive service. As for the environment there's not much to say, it looks like your typical breakfast spot. read more

Maaaaaan. Seven Mile Cafe might make a regular out of me. Upon arrival I will say that the outside of the building is quite deceiving. I can't remember what if any other restaurant existed here before them, but the exterior almost gives the impression that this restaurant was thrown together in a haste & opened to market mediocre breakfast, brunch and lunch items. However once inside you feel like you're visiting your stylish great aunt for breakfast. The ambiance is warm, decor is modern but minimalistic & there's sooo much seating space. My fiancé and I visited on Sunday around 12pm so there was a small wait, but once seated service was quick. When it comes to the food I can't say enough good things. For drinks we got their orange juice & seven mile latte. I do recommend going for the carton/bottled OJ over fresh squeezed because there is a difference in how much you get for how much you pay. The latte was delicious, seriously no notes. I've never been to a breakfast place that served lattes and did not have to add any sugar. Everyone knows the latte is for people who are more on the vain side lol (not that flavor doesn't matter but it's definitely secondary to the design). I'd always be bummed when I had to add sugar and disturb the design by stirring the drink, but that's not the case here and when it comes to the flavor it's not too strong but not too sweet. For food my fiancé ordered a pancake with a side of bacon and cheese eggs. He orders that everywhere we go, and seemed to enjoy it but the star of the dishes was the strawberry nutella french toast I ordered. I'm salivating just thinking about them. You get the acid from the strawberries paired w/the sweetness of the nutella & the crunch of the candied pecans that adds texture to the bite. It's sweet without being overpowering and just so darn good. My fiancé tried mine & wished that's what he ordered (which is huge because he's a very picky eater). If you need to break up the sweet just add a side. I got sausage links, but there's plenty of other options to choose from especially if you're vegan. The ONLY thing I can say that is a turn off is that everything is a la carte when it comes to the pancakes or french toast breakfasts. Gone are the days of old fashioned combos, but if you can swing it it's worth dining here. Our server was Sofia G. My son suggested this place for his birthday brunch last week. I was skeptical looking at it from outside, but once inside I got excited after seeing some of the dishes the patrons were enjoying. We ordered the French toast, Eggs Benedict, and the chicken and waffles We also tried their mimosas. We were sampling each other's food and everything was delectable, especially the French toast. Our server, Ms. Stephanie W., was the epitome of excellent customer service and we enjoyed some laughs with her. Our first time. A nice atmosphere, very modern and welcoming. It was 2 pm, I got a burger and wife got a pancake & bacon. The food was real good, but the cost was pretty out of whack. The bacon cheeseburger was $17.50 with chips/salsa (a tiny ramekin), and a salad. Was shocked with all the sandwich/burger options, was shocked when I learned there is no option for fries. Also, when the burger came, I asked for mustard. She advised that only have Dijon, no yellow mustard. How hard is it to have yellow mustard as one of the condiments to choose from!?! The burger, however was pretty great, but disappointed in the two things I mentioned. Wife ordered blueberry pancake, and a side of bacon. It was great, just shocked that the side of bacon was two unimpressive slices of bacon for $5! Service was just ok. Waited and had to ask for refills. I felt like entrees were about $5 more than they should have been, but I see they're probably paying top dollar for rent, which gets passed on to the consumer.
