You want to come here! Food, service, and cost all were 6 stars! Plenty of parking! You can call ahead! The servers are absolutely top tier! Way more than order takers. True guides mixing menus, kitchen, and customer wants. The food flavors were way above expectations. The biscuits have to be in the top 10 of Texas restaurants. All at a great cost!

We really wanted to love this place, but it is not without its shortcomings. We expected there to be a wait on a Saturday, but at least we were able to join the waitlist online. Once seated, our waitperson arrived quickly to take our order. The food took a while to come out and sadly when it arrived it was not hot. In fact it almost seemed as if it had been sitting a while before it was brought to the table. We ordered several things off the menu. The best being the French toast! It had an amazing sweet vanilla flavor and the edges were caramelized. If we return, I'll definitely go with that. The hash browns might have been amazing, had they been hot or at least warm. Lastly, the coffee underwhelmed. We had to wait on this as well, and as you might have guessed, it too was lukewarm. Nothing fancy about the decor. Pretty standard for a family-style breakfast restaurant. I hate giving poor reviews, but I always tell it like it is. I would suggest each person check it out for themselves, but as for me, I probably won't be back anytime soon.

Started brunch with a Hawaiian mimosa...good choice! I ordered the garden scramble with lots of veggies. The green peppers were not done enough for me but otherwise it was perfect. The blueberry pancake with vanilla crema and blueberry sauce- no syrup needed and it was to die for! They offered fresh decaf and excellent service. Very friendly and attentive. Busy place but T here was no wait and they seated us before the remainder of our party arrived.

Overall lackluster experience. Seven Mile Cafe is a breakfast and lunch restaurant with several locations in DFW area. We went to the Mesquite location on a Saturday morning at 1030 and it was busy but no wait. Restaurant is fairly large and open, lots of hard surfaces so it's kinda loud. Large menu with lots of vegan and GfF options. Full coffee bar, adult bevies, and baked goods. Our server was lovely. We both ordered egg scrambles -- one Denver style, one veggie. Asked if we wanted hash browns crispy and of course we did! Food took a good amount of time to come out so be patient. Everything else we saw come out looked great! Staff were attentive while we waited and overall seemed to be providing great service. Our food was not great. Both scrambles were very watery, had a mushy texture, and were lacking in flavor. Hash browns seem to be deep fried. (That's NOT a complaint!) The biscuit and toast were good. Some of the food had a faint fishy taste. Overall very disappointing. A note on drinks -- They do not filter the water. If you are from the area, you know that sometimes the tap water can taste funky. (Imagine the smell of lake bottom.) It's really off-putting to take a drink of tea or water and it smells of pond scum. So order accordingly if that's something that bothers you.

The food is good, but you walk in and get a smell of sewage. I don't know what's going on, but takes a while to get nose blind. It's off putting coming in and smelling sewage as soon as you walk in. Other than that service was good.

Maaaaaan. Seven Mile Cafe might make a regular out of me. Upon arrival I will say that the outside of the building is quite deceiving. I can't remember what if any other restaurant existed here before them, but the exterior almost gives the impression that this restaurant was thrown together in a haste & opened to market mediocre breakfast, brunch and lunch items. However once inside you feel like you're visiting your stylish great aunt for breakfast. The ambiance is warm, decor is modern but minimalistic & there's sooo much seating space. My fiancé and I visited on Sunday around 12pm so there was a small wait, but once seated service was quick. When it comes to the food I can't say enough good things. For drinks we got their orange juice & seven mile latte. I do recommend going for the carton/bottled OJ over fresh squeezed because there is a difference in how much you get for how much you pay. The latte was delicious, seriously no notes. I've never been to a breakfast place that served lattes and did not have to add any sugar. Everyone knows the latte is for people who are more on the vain side lol (not that flavor doesn't matter but it's definitely secondary to the design). I'd always be bummed when I had to add sugar and disturb the design by stirring the drink, but that's not the case here and when it comes to the flavor it's not too strong but not too sweet. For food my fiancé ordered a pancake with a side of bacon and cheese eggs. He orders that everywhere we go, and seemed to enjoy it but the star of the dishes was the strawberry nutella french toast I ordered. I'm salivating just thinking about them. You get the acid from the strawberries paired w/the sweetness of the nutella & the crunch of the candied pecans that adds texture to the bite. It's sweet without being overpowering and just so darn good. My fiancé tried mine & wished that's what he ordered (which is huge because he's a very picky eater). If you need to break up the sweet just add a side. I got sausage links, but there's plenty of other options to choose from especially if you're vegan. The ONLY thing I can say that is a turn off is that everything is a la carte when it comes to the pancakes or french toast breakfasts. Gone are the days of old fashioned combos, but if you can swing it it's worth dining here. Our server was Sofia G. She had great energy, made sure to accommodate our needs & was ready for any questions we had. If you're lucky to have her she will take care of you.

Took a while to be greeted at the bar and there was only one other couple there. $22 Crab Cakes Benedict with hardly any crab and way over fried. Over $40 breakfast with a mediocre Bloody Mary. Won't be back, but apparently folks like it because there was a wait and it was packed.

"chicken and waffles" green onion all over the waffle
    Karma A.

came here hoping to find a decent breakfast spot, and left very disappointed. First my wife's coffee came spilled, and the server did not even care to clean the mug or plate of coffee, just said "sorry it spilled" .. then I ordered chicken and waffles, why on earth would you put green onions on my waffles ? disgusting, and now my waffles smell like onions. Why would anyone want their waffles smelling or tasting like onions ? the chicken was ok, taste like the grocery store frozen chicken strips thrown into the microwave. overall very disappointing, hoping to find a good breakfast place.

Well, talk about a hidden gem. I had this place bookmarked but could not tell you where I heard…read moreabout it. It is basically a little luncheon oasis dropped right in the middle of a gigantic industrial park. On the drive over I was seriously questioning my Yelp choices. It is that kind of location. But trust Yelp and sometimes you are handily rewarded, which we absolutely were. We came after a few hours strolling around at the Botanical Gardens, so we rolled in around 1:30 and there were still plenty of people there. I can only imagine at noon this place is packed, and honestly it should be. My biggest complaint is the menus. There is one above the counter that does not include everything, and then a different, more complete version if you scan the QR code at the table (But 2 different navigations even on the website with slightly different menus). Do yourself a favor and look it up ahead of time so you are not standing there making panic decisions. There is a half sandwich and half soup combo (Not on the board but online menu), which is definitely the move. I got the pozole, which you should absolutely order, and a half grilled cheese on their housemate sourdough. Normally not my go to, but I was trying not to be completely stuffed since we had dinner plans. And they bake their own sourdough, so I had a strong feeling it would be great, and it delivered. Toasty and melty, American and cheddar. My husband got the southwestern wrap, and my friend went with the half club and half tomato soup. She immediately regretted not getting the pozole and the half birria sandwich, which tells you everything you need to know. Also need to mention the snickerdoodle. Not much to look at, kind of humble, but it completely makes up for it with flavor and that perfect soft texture. Go ahead and get the cookie. You are not here to make responsible decisions. Bottom line, it may feel like you are driving into the middle of nowhere, but keep going. This place is worth it.

This is exactly the kind of hole in the wall lunch spot you'll miss if you're not paying attention…read more I literally drove past it twice before realizing it was right there. It's also one of those "if you know, you know" places, and clearly people know, because the to-go orders were nonstop. The second you walk in, you're hit with cases of fresh baked bread, and pastries. The almond pistachio croissant was the biggest one I've ever seen and had me drooling before I even placed my order. It is counter service, and I went with a Mediterranean sandwich with chicken while my lunch date got a classic BLT. Both were incredible, super fresh ingredients, excellent flavor, and next level fresh bread/ flatbread. Try the sourdough ! You can tell this place is legit because you see everyone in there from construction workers, people, in scrubs, law-enforcement, executives, all grabbing lunch. When that many hard-working people trust a spot, you know it's got to be good. If you're in Garland, add this place to your must try list. It is an excellent lunch spot.

We were told the wait would be about 40 minutes, but we were seated approximately 50 minutes later. After being seated, we waited several minutes before anyone came to our table. When our waiter finally arrived to take our drink order, he seemed impatient and rude when we were still deciding. He then turned away from us and took the order of another couple seated nearby before finishing with us. About 15 minutes later, we finally received our drinks as well as 3 other tables. After waiting a 30 more minutes with no communication or update, we decided to leave. The other tables near us received their meals except us and there was no communication from the waiter. We understand that holidays can be busy and that staffing challenges can happen. However, the lack of communication, long delays, and the waiter's dismissive behavior made the experience especially disappointing -- particularly after spending nearly two hours waiting while hungry on Valentine's. I hope someone can look into what happened and help ensure better communication and service for future guests. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
