Such a great little spot! Very clean establishment and friendly staff. Ordered the mom's breakfast and substituted for French toast. It was very fluffy but a little dry in the middle. We also had the Monte Cristo, which was great and had a delicious jam with it. We will definitely be back soon! read more

Went there with the family for breakfast/lunch today. We had a party of 7 and was glad we got there slightly prior to the after church rush. We were seated relatively quickly. Everyone enjoyed what they ordered. There were a couple of no big deal mistakes. The waitress and manager promptly corrected it. I had the bacon cheddar burger, which was really good. I'm glad this area got a good breakfast restaurant! My only issue was the automatic added gratuity of 20% because we had 7. Not cool, if you ask me. read more

Very unique spot that is definitely a must see here in seagoville. Serving up seasonal items as well as home country favorites from classics like our chicken and waffles, to chicken buffalo sandwiches. Very much a community spot that feels homey. Still amazes me how everyday some will come in and find neighbors, friends and family here as well. Friendly staff will keep you coming back :) read more

This place hit all the right buttons. The food was excellent, the service was superb (Samantha was awesome), and the ambiance was low key. Nice country music in the background, and a bright clean restaurant. We had the Migas (amazing green sauce) and the cowboy skillet. The coffee was excellent too. We've found a new place to stop when we travel back from the metroplex. read more

Absolutely delightful, exactly the kind of breakfast-joint this area needs. I enjoyed my breakfast so much I ordered lunch to go and enjoyed it later that day. I ordered the huevos rancheros, but skipped the pulled pork. It isn't served in the tradition I prefer, but the crispy tortillas were really good and crisp (but not flaky) and the ranchero sauce tasted fresh and had no bite. The black beans were surprisingly tasty--I'm not sure what spices have been added, but I cleaned my plate. I'm very glad there's somewhere I can take my family next time they're in town. read more

First time coming to this restaurant. We have tried to visit every eatery in this area and I have to say that the Starwood Cafe in Seagoville Tx is one of the best restaurants we have been to. The wait staff is very and knowledgeable. The environment is clean and new and the food is absolutely fantastic. We were there for breakfast and had what they call a "skillet". It's more like a bowl but whatever you want to call it, it was very delicious. I can not express how wonderful the experience has been. I would recommend visiting this restaurant to anyone who is considering coming here. read more

Even though I was young(4-5 years old) this was an eventful and pivotal time period for me as I ended up surviving a house fire on Pleasant Run drive one night. Due to the fire my family ended up moving to the Houston area where I have been pretty much ever since. This Saturday I returned to the Grove(now Tejanos) for the first time in about 37 years and was pleasantly surprised at what I found. Despite it being about 37 years since my last visit there(and a name change) the diner still looks almost exactly the same. Original time clock, milk fridge, pencil sharpener, bar, brick wall(although painted) and much more. You can still even see a faint hint of "The Grove" on the new sign that had Tejanos painted over it. Oh and I almost forgot to mention the best part... great food at a wonderful price! Mellissa provided great customer service as well and was a joy to visit with. Will definitely return next time I'm in Southeast Dallas!

Until our last visit, we had enjoyed nothing but positive experiences with the food and service. Unfortunately, one waitress ruined that experience during our most recent visit. On Jan. 26, six of us showed up. After a considerable wait, a young waitress took our drink orders and, eventually, our food orders. Initially, she seemed upset that three of us were paying for one other person and ourselves--so it would require three tickets (it is our tradition that members of one pickleball team pay for the meal of a member on the opposing team). As we waited an inordinate amount of time to even receive water, guests who were seated after us received their drinks immediately and their food orders long before we did. Our food orders were basic. As the surly waitress continued to ignore us, never smiling and making us feel like we were putting her out, we noticed that with other customers in our area she was smiling and being jovial. Since we are mature, friendly and courteous people, not to mention good tippers, we could not figure out why we were being treated differently. After a few minutes of observation, it became painfully obvious that it was because our skin color was not the same as the waitress and the customers she was friendly with. She is black and we were primarily Anglo, with some non-black ethnicity in two members. We all have the utmost empathy for anyone struggling with personal issues. Until we saw how much better she treated other customers, we had given her the benefit of the doubt that maybe she was struggling with non-work issues. After eventually finishing our meal, with a couple of items forgotten until we asked about them, we never received our tickets. After we walked to the register to see if we could pay, the rudeness escalated. When a member of our party asked about the tickets as the young waitress had her back to us and was seemingly having trouble totaling them, the employee snapped at her with a gruff, incoherent response. (Incidentally, the tickets had disparate totals for what should have been similar amounts. Nevertheless, I still left a $5 tip on a $21 tab.) As mentioned earlier, had the waitress treated other customers the same way she treated us, although it still would have been rude, we would not have taken it personally. Although I am Anglo, I have black, Hispanic and Asian members in my extended family. I've also never heard a prejudiced word from any of my pickleball friends--which includes a revolving cast of different ethnicities. Since we were all courteous, we could think of no other explanation for being treated differently than our skin color. As a female member of our party, who has mixed ethnicity, said, "Other customers were treated as guests, which they should have been. Her total disregard for us was very upsetting and blatant. Reverse racism is not okay." As a result of this experience, we have decided to discontinue our Friday-night tradition of coming to Waffle House. That is a shame because I really like Waffle House, and enjoyed watching a couple of your young female customers dancing to the jukebox. I also had a pleasant conversation with a black couple sitting at the counter who sympathized with the way we were treated. I am not criticizing this Waffle House as a whole, but saying one waitress caused us to decide to stop going. I sent this letter to the local manager and to the corporate office, but did not receive a response from either. If they had responded with an apology, we would have considered returning.
