This place was great! I came here to study one afternoon, and they have big tables, power outlets, and friendly service. There is a huge variety of teas, so ask for recommendations if you don't know what you like yet. Don't be scared away if a tea doesn't meet your tastes. There's plenty more to try. A few small snacks - sweet and savory - to go along with your tea, and the staff comes around to top off your hot water. Very fun atmosphere. I will definitely be back! read more

very nice selection of teas! they also offer some light snacks - I had a very tasty strawberry scone. The ambiance is very nice for relaxing and having a nice pot of tea. read more

Best selection of tea in town. Great teas and probably the best in Tucson. Great atmosphere too. Many choices of tea and they are very helpful there. read more

While I agree with what others have said in that the snack menu items are overpriced (hence 4 instead of 5 stars), I really love this place - I have come here many times to study and drink tea because it is just such a calming, relaxing atmosphere. And of course for the delicious teas. If you want to relax and explore some new Chinese teas, this is the place for you! read more

This is a gem. The owners are a wealth of tea knowledge and a true joy to know. The room itself is calm and gorgeous, the tea outstanding. A must see in Tucson. read more

Excellent selection of tea! Also had two orders of steamed buns as well as the sweet buns. They were awesome! It's a great friendly and relaxed atmosphere. I'll definitely be returning! read more

Great Staff, very informative and helpful. Delicious tea! My dad sends me care packages because I live in IL and he always includes tea from Seven Cups. read more

Phenomenal experience! A most excellent place to meet friends for a pot of tea or study. Other patrons are normally very polite and conversations are quiet. Staff is patient, service is never rushed, and there are many different teas available to satisfy different tastes and pricepoints. Not a lot available in the terms of snacks, aside from little lotus cakes...so come thirsty, not hungry! :) If you find a tea you particularly fancy, they sell leaves for at home brewing. Great atmosphere! read more

Nice place to sip tea and meet with friends. There is a good selection of delicious teas to choose from and the atmosphere is beautiful.

I was so excited to find this tea shop. I guess my expectations were high after reading the article in travel and lea sure. Unfortunately, the author of the article never met the little snit who works there. I was greeted with a disgusted sigh and given a little lecture on not interrupting her and she would get to me when she was done. Done with what I don't know. Suddenly ajar of tea was shoved under my nose and I was told this was the tea I wanted. I am sure Seven Cups has wonderful tea, I didn't get that far I work for the airlines and fly all over the world.. there are other tea shops with kind and courteous staff. I will spend my money there... Its to bad my niece lives in Sam Hughes.. she said she had had similar experiences. I will never go back read more

I'm completely addicted to oolong tea, I drink about as much of it as most people drink coffee, sometimes mixed with other things like a chai blend, often just by itself. I was sick of Teavana's overpriced oolong that was advertised as "3-5" steeps but was always weak by the 3rd so I went looking and I found Seven Cups on a message board's recommendation. The first time I ordered, about an hour after placing the order I decided I wanted to try another tea and I contacted them. They made it so easy to add to the order and didn't increase the shipping cost because of the addition. So my very first experience with them was that their customer service was fast, friendly and effective. The tea arrived and I have to say I was blown away. I ordered two varieties of oolong (or Wulong as their site names it, which I believe is more correct than my American-ized version) from Seven Cups and both are fantastic, and they both always last through at least 5 uses, sometimes more. The leaves aren't shredded like you find with so many loose tea providers and the flavor is great. I just re-ordered from them because my supply is dwindling and I don't know that I'll ever be able to go back. If you're looking for a friendly, helpful place to get really good tea, I would definitely recommend Seven Cups. I can't speak to their other types of tea other than by assumption, but their Wulong is amazing and their staff is perfectly willing to help out people like me, who make forgetful orders. I will and have recommended their site to friends, and if their customer service to their online customers is any indication, I would bet their tea shop is fantastic. If I'm ever in Tucson, I'll be headed there to try it. read more

This place is for REAL tea drinkers...of which I do not consider myself one (I usually use tea bags after all!). I had stopped by to get an iced tea on a hot Tucson day and I have to say that I was super-impressed. I ordered the Apricot Mint xxx (I actually cannot remember the other three words in the title!). It was delicious and refreshing. My only complaint is that it was a little too pricey - 3.50 for the large, which was not that large at all. Overall, their selection of tea seems to be very stellar. Plus, they have tea ceremonies and tea tasting events to introduce to the world of tea. read more

Eh. I dunno, maybe I just didn't get it. The vibe felt really over the top and pretentious. Also my tea was not very good. Won't go back, but if this type of place is your thing then go for it. read more

I drink a lot of tea and loved this place! Very unique serene oriental atmosphere. Quiet enough for several students who were there that day to study. They have Authentic tea ceremonies and unusual teas for sale. My date and I each ordered different dessert cakes and shared,,,,sooo good!!! read more

Despite what the staff may suggest (or attempt to do ...trying to add water and rebrew without asking permission), Green and white teas should not be rebrewed, and once brewed begin to develop bacteria, in effect creating a bacteria rebrew with harmful health consequences instead of helpful health benefits. Aside from bad practices mentioned previously, they have good tea, ok service, good salads and appetizers, and good ambiance. read more

I dragged my partner-in-dine to Seven Cups for an afternoon (Chinese) tea. We liked the decor of the place. There's an impressive Guanyin (Goddess of Mercy) wood statue in the foyer to greet the customers. They also have a shop selling tea leaves and tea paraphernalia. We were seated immediately. There was a sign on each table reminding everyone about "one person = one pot of tea" and "maximum stay of 2 hours." They also had piped-in Chinese music which added authenticity to the setting. We ordered the "Ba Xian" tea (Eight Immortals brand Oolong tea) for two and a piece of Lotus Moon Cake. The moon cake was delectable but quite expensive for its size. The first flush of the tea was very good. It had a soothing taste complemented by an aromatic smell. Nobody came around to refill our teapot until I flagged down one of the servers. The second steeping produced a shockingly bland taste. It was like drinking a completely different tea from the first batch. I told my brother who lives in China and is somewhat a tea connoisseur about it. He said that high-grade tea should still taste very good even after the second pouring of hot water. I agree with him. I am a regular tea drinker and have my own stash of assorted teas at home. I always steep my tea leaves in at least two pots of hot water and the taste is consistently good even after several steeping. So, I was quite disappointed with the quality of tea at Seven Cups. I might still go there in the future when the urge to envelop myself in the atmosphere of a Chinese-themed teahouse hits me again. read more

I'm a fairly regular customer at this establishment. I've always gotten great service, the staff has always been attentive and friendly, I go for the peace and quiet and obviously the amazing selection of teas and treats (seriously try the red bean or lotus mooncakes, you won't be disappointed!) However my experience today was AWFUL, and it truly broke my heart because I've been going there for a long time, but our "server" was so rude, didn't check on us once, offer to refill our water, and didn't even bring us one of the items we ordered, or apologize for it. A large party had come in and were so loud and obnoxious that we chugged our tea and got out of there as soon as we could. When the guy who was working finally came to ring us up, he reluctantly took off the item we never received, and didn't even give us our discount for being members even though we had told him at the beginning we were, so we over paid for a really horrible experience... I can honestly say this is not how this place usually is, but it light of today I will not be returning any time soon, especially if this young man is working. I hope things go back to the way they used to be but if this is the kind of thing I can expect then I guess another one bites the dust... I'm not one to complain because I work in this industry, and I understand people get busy at work but I have never been treated so poorly, like my being there was an inconvenience... again, I hope things go back to the way it used to be though so I don't have to lose one of my favorite spots!!! read more

i love this place, the staff are so friendly and informative. They taught me so many things I didn't know about tea and helped me pick the tea I would enjoy most. I didn't even mind spending that much money on my tea because it is now something I enjoy after a stressful day or when I just want to relax. Still want to come back for the tea ceremonies and the classes they offer. read more

This is definitely the best tea house not just in Tucson, but any city I've been to. Their selection is insane and every tea is of perfect quality. The staff is as knowledgeable as one could get and they do great little tea ceremonies/traditions. The snacks are also very nice. read more

WONDERFUL addition to Tucson. Really a great place. Super calming, with great teas. Do not miss this Gem.

I can't speak about the food that they serve here but I can speak about the tea and the expertise. I spoke at a conference in Tucson and did a two day turn around trip. Having read a story in Travel and Leisure magazine, Seven Cups has always been on my list. I popped in very quickly top get a few teas and one of the young women working there made me a Wulong (oolong) tea for the road. I savored every drop of that tea over the 6.5 hour drive. I drank the teas I had purchased and then bought a rocking tea brewer - expensive - but given the quality of these teas - exactly what the teas deserved. I recently ordered more tea and had a long and educational conversation about teas with Andrew. The level of customer service and desire to educate tea newbies was most appreciated. I have had the time of my life choosing which tea to make very day. Three cheers to Seven Cups! read more

Great place to get tea and some lighter food. They really know their stuff regarding what tea is good for what. The food was delicious! Great spot to catch up on homework as it is a quieter place. read more

What a hidden gem in Tucson. Escape our harsh Tucson winters with a nice pot of tea. I suggest the "Big Red Robe". I've never done a proper tea ceremony but I've seen it and it looks cool. This would be a great 1st date place. read more

If you are an oolong fan, a tea snob or simply curious about good quality Chinese/Taiwanese teas, this place is a must. It was an unexpected gem to discover and made our day. However, stay away from the reduced cost tea from the previous years for sale. At least the one we got had almost no flavour, despite the supposed vacuum packaging. read more

I am sad to say, that even after such a positive experience during the first visit and being a huge supporter of local business, I don't think that I will ever return to Seven Cups. Maybe in a few years when there is likely be a different staff. Though I have purchased tea here, I have never had the pleasure of enjoying tea in the tea room. I've also never experienced a situation, as I did here, in which a server went out of their way to make people feel so uncomfortable. I was horrified and embarrassed. Details below. Experience #1 - 5 Stars I visited this place back in April 2013. I had never been here before and came in to purchase a gift for a friend that loves tea. When I went in the staff was extremely helpful! They pointed out all of the different kinds of teas that were available. The salesperson was very knowledgeable and told me about the different health properties of each kind of tea. I was pleased with the price and the friendly staff. It was a fantastic experience! Experience #2 - 1 Star A second visit to Seven Cups happened by accident. A friend of mine was visiting a store next door to Seven Cups and, when she was trying to leave, her car wouldn't start. When I arrived to help, the parking lot was full and it wasn't possible for me to park next to my friend. We stepped inside the businesses and asked if anyone owned one of the cars parked next to hers. A woman inside Seven Cups realized that her car was one of the ones we were asking about and offered to help. We were very thankful that this woman, in the midst of a full term pregnancy, was offering to help in the 105 degree heat. While we were outside, one of the servers came out and started to harass us. She told us we should be ashamed for making a pregnant woman come outside and felt that she needed to protect her customer. The server claimed that we didn't know how to jump a car (you should start both of them first) and should try to figure out who owned the other cars. It took all of a minute to jump the car, as to be expected, and everyone was back inside in a matter of minutes. The server harassed us and was confrontational the entire time while the woman helped us. No one MADE this pregnant woman help us, it was her decision. She offered. When my friend went into the tea house to offer to pay for the pregnant woman's tea, the staff continued to be condescending and insulting and embarrassed her in front of the other patrons. read more

I have been here for the last time. All thanks to that one staff member. I recently found the Scented leaf (from yelp) and am happy to have somewhere else near by to go. Customer Service means a lot to me and I do not like the girls who work there. Not worth it for the tea. read more

They have a good selection of tea as well as some Cantonese and Japanese snacks. I have some good tea at home so I was more curious about their snacks. The list was not long, but contains a good variety of things. I had a rice tamale with pork (hm, ok, this was actually shanghainese), which takes 20 min to prepare. It came nicely steamed, the rice and the pork were at the right tenderness. If you're craving for Asian snacks in the southwest, they might have something for you. And the tea was good too. read more

Very calm and quiet environment, with a large tea menu! The young woman who helped us while we were here was very knowledgeable and kind. The presentation of some of the teas are so elaborate, it's a nice place to try something different. Try the tea egg, sounds weird but it's a fun snack. read more

If you're into green teas, you'll find this to be some kind of mother lode. There is a bit of black tea, and herbs as well. (I learned from the person working there that by far most tea drunk in China is green tea. Didn't know that...) Buy it, or drink it in the nice little tea room in the back. The tea room menu gives you the chance to try some teas or herbs that are pretty pricey in bulk. If you're at a loss in the face of the pages and pages of stuff, try the chrysanthemum (which they naturally have in two or three grades/varieties). Freeeeeaky, and really delicious. Right across the street from Rincon. read more

Awesome Tea!!! if you want to study, talk, or just relax then this is the place for you.

In town visiting family and found this place and my experience exceeded my expectations. When I read that Seven Cups was rated as one of the best in the country i was skeptical. My skepticism was quickly and pleasantly dispelled. This is one of those places that should be on anyone's "must" list. I know it's cliche, but this is a place to learn and enjoy great tea's. I will make this a must my next time through. read more

I had a wonderful experience there. The tea was amazing. The tea leaves are high quality. The tea went through several infusions and still tasted great. Beautiful atmosphere and excellent selection of teas. Our server, Noelle, was knowledgeable, passionate and attentive. The food was a little over priced for the size of the moon cake and pork buns. Our pork buns were cold on the inside. I ended up buying two packages of tea to take back home and share with friends. She also encouraged us to take our tea leaves home to reconstitute since they "still had so much life in them." read more
