I initially scheduled this appointment after seeing your advertisement and was genuinely excited to come in for my first lip flip. My original appointment was set for early February. A few days prior, I received a message that it needed to be rescheduled two weeks out. Although inconvenient, I understood and rescheduled for February 17, confirmed the appointment, and even took time off work. On January 30th, I was notified that the appointment needed to be moved yet again. While frustrated, I still wanted the service and agreed to reschedule, taking additional time off work to accommodate the new date. Two days before my appointment on the 24th, I received a confirmation text with the time and location. The following day, I was informed -- for the third time -- that the appointment needed to be rescheduled. At this point, the repeated lack of scheduling reliability is unacceptable. Clients arrange their work schedules and personal commitments around these appointments. Consistently rescheduling with little notice demonstrates a lack of organization and consideration for clients' time. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend booking here based on my experience. Do not recommend. If you are a second past 5 minutes late you will be turned away no matter how far you've traveled. They claim they need the whole 10 minutes but my appointment has never taken that long. The girl was walking the other girl out of the room so I would have been waiting anyways!! I am really frustrated with the scheduling here and I feel as though they have taken advantage of me. I paid for the 18 month unlimited plan so I am paying for a time period not a session but multiple times (6 times) they have cancelled my session at the last minute. Because of this I am loosing money because I'm not able to get the sessions as frequently as I need yet am paying the unlimited fee. Additionally, I'm not able to see as effective and long term results because my hair growth cycle is every 4 weeks but I am not able to get an appointment until every 6-8 weeks. Today I took the evening off work because the only time they had in the upcoming 2 weeks was at 4:15pm and they just canceled less than 8 hours in advance (pictured below). I highly would not recommend the unlimited package because they will take advantage of you and cancel your sessions last minute so that you're not able to get as many treatments. This time I was 7 minutes late, they not only refused to see me but also charged 50% fee although i rescheduled to another day in a few days as they are closed tomorrow. Found SEV from fellow Yelper. I was researching getting some laser hair removal. I venture to one place and it was so costly. I ended up seeing a fellow Yelp elite person had did a review for this place so I read her review and reached out via DM. Hands down she recommended this spot. Big concern for me when looking for laser hair removal treatment were: laser appropriate for melanated skin, Nurse Practitioners (NP) and cleanliness. SEV used the same type of laser that the 10x more expensive place uses. SEV only used NP and the med spa is very clean. I decided to go all in for my treatment at this spot by purchasing a package of 6 for an extra large area. The area for my full face and neck. My biggest concern was my upper lip, chin and neck area. With the purchase of the package, I also got my side burns, nose hairs and the side of my brows. I am 3 of my 6 sessions and I am happy with the results. I saw the biggest results after session 3. I am confident that this is working and I am so happy that I with SEV. My package was affordable. The NP has on-video session with you a week before your first session to ensure you qualify for treatments. SEV has loyalty programs and they are located in several other states. Pros: What I like about SEV, easy to book and they offer specials. The scheduling system is easy to use and they do a good job of reminding you of appointments times. They validate at the parking garage which is only a few feet away. Cons: Very tight schedule if a NP canceled there is no resetting for that day. Must book several weeks out to guarantee your time preferences. Tip: sometime there are promotions on Groupon site. I paid less than $400 for my package. The lowest quote I got from other place was $1800 just for lip, chin and front neck. This was after an initial quote of more than 3k. read more

SEV Laser purchased Ideal Image. I loved Ideal Image. Wonderful customer service, great experience every single time I went. SEV Laser on the other hand is awful. Customer Service is seriously lacking. They NEVER answer the phone and when you leave a message they NEVER call back! I have yet to speak to an actual person over the phone. They were booking botox appointments without acquiring the licensing requirements to possess and administer it, yet were flat out lying, claiming they hadn't received their shipment yet. I was told this directly from two nurse practitioners who work there. They would send an email, no phone call, the day of the appointment to tell me they were still waiting for their "shipment to arrive." This happened to me THREE TIMES! I had to rearrange my schedule for these appointments and when I complained about the inconvenience, I was told I could take my business elsewhere. Also, Ideal Image would have NEVER asked their clients to pay a gratuity. SEV Laser expects it and places signs all over the place so that you're made aware that they expect their clients to pay up! And the icing on the cake...I had an appointment today that I had to cancel because my elderly, handicapped mother was taken to the hospital in an ambulance and I was at the hospital waiting for the doctors to tell me what was wrong with her and received a text from them stating that I would have to pay 50% of the cost of the procedure due to cancelling my appointment without giving them a 48 hour notice. I actually find it amusing that it's okay for them to cancel appointments the day of the appointment, yet expect you to give them a 48 hour notice. Unbelievable! Needless to say, I will not be returning. I recommend finding a new establishment and stay as far away as possible from SEV Laser. read more

I asked to speak to a manager twice and was told the manager would call me. The manager never called, and there were no condolences for the cancellation of appointments. Absolutely insane single session price increases - that are not advertised when you book an appt. It doesn't really matter what the pricing is on a package if they expire within a year and you're just doing touch ups and don't need a whole package. I went in for laser hair removal and it was a great experience. I felt safe with their COVID procedures and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I have tried other lasers but I really like the type of laser they use, for me there was no irritation or pain which which made the appointment quick and easy. I came here and got 6 laser treatments for a Brazilian. The first two treatments seemed to work well.. and then after that, it didn't really do anything. I brought up my concerns to the nurses twice, and they went back and forth on the types of lasers to use on me. Felt like wasted session trying to find out what was going on and what was going to be effective. A couple months out from my last treatment, and my hair is just as thick as it was before I started the laser treatments. Very disappointed. read more

I bought the Groupon for laser hair removal with SEV in Lincoln Park and it was such a great experience. I did six sessions for my underarms and Brazilian and saw great results! The appointments were quick, the staff is very professional, friendly and accommodating. The facility was neat and clean and the laser they used for my melanated skin (I'm Indian with medium time skin color and black hair) was safe and I had not had any negative effects with the pre and post care that they provided. Not to mention they validate your parking in the garage next door so no need to look for street parking. Highly recommend to do laser here! read more

***They deleted my comment on one of their Instagram posts so now I've moved here where they can't delete it.*** I've been there 4 times already for a package I purchased. I know the place is small but it looks nothing like the other glamorous locations they post on social media. The bathroom is SO dark and the toilet seat is always dirty. The first time I went there I stopped in the bathroom before my session and there was dried urine and hair on the seat. At the end of my session there was a sticky note on the bathroom door that said "Clean" but when I went to use it the same urine and hair were on the seat. The seat has been consistently dirty every time I go. The water in the bathroom is ice cold no matter how long you let it run. I know that is a health code violation as well as the vents in the ceiling of the treatment rooms are all covered in dirt, dust, and filth. There are also water stains on the ceiling so who knows what's going on up there. I bought a package so I feel forced to continue my treatments but I would truly appreciate if that place got cleaned up. As much as I paid for my package and the cash tips I leave for the staff performing my laser hair removal (they have tacky @$$ tip jars and QR codes to their payment platforms in each treatment room then as you check out the front desk staff pushes for you to leave a tip as well)....I truly expect to be in a clean environment. Let me start off by saying I've never had an experience like this before make me so angry. The rules they make clients follow in regards to their policy is absurd. I was turned away twice and the last time I tried to go back they refuse to do a section of my legs that a small patch had spray tan from over 3 weeks ago and still charge me a "cancellation fee" for that area even though I did other areas. It is absurd policy and I absolutely recommend going somewhere else this place is scam and their customer service is awful. The service was great, the nurses are always friendly. However they have too many customers so you aren't able to schedule very 4 weeks, which is important for the process to work. They need a bigger location to accommodate their customers. I've had to wait two months for an appointment because they were all booked up. Let me start by saying I do not recommend this place, based on the quality of their services and even their front desk service. I've had 6+ appointments consistently spaced out as recommend by the technician (generally 4-6 weeks apart) for the underarms and Brazilian areas. You're supposed to at least start seeing results by this point, if not be done with treatment after 6+ appointments. I really have not had great results. My hair starts growing back immediately, although slightly thinner. And I even have light blonde hair and it's pretty thin to begin with... I've had other areas laser treated at different places and I was totally hairless after 6 appointments (and still have not needed a follow up after over a year). That said, they are clearly doing something wrong or the technicians are not properly trained. I was considering trying somewhere new because of this, but I figured I would give SEV one last chance. Boy I really shouldn't have.... I was supposed to have an appointment recently and I showed up 4-5 minutes late because it was snowing so people were moving slower. The girl at the front desk tells me they can only do one area and not the other.... Which makes no sense because the underarms literally take less than a minute. And every single time I've gotten both areas done it's taken a total of 5 minutes or less. I was trying to explain this to her and by this point we've already wasted another two minutes. She cancelled the appointment and I will 100% be going elsewhere for treatment from now on. As someone who had been a very loyal customer, I expected better service than this. I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt and I really shouldn't have. I could get past the service issue because I know it was probably just the girl who was working the front desk at the time, but taking this into account with how bad the quality of their services have been? Love this place. It is a super cute salon in the new Lincoln Commons complex. I bought a Groupon for LHR and I am on my second session. The women working at the front desk are friendly and welcoming. I can't say enough good things about the laser tech. She is so sweet and makes you feel completely at ease with someone that can be very awkward. The whole process is quick and painless!
