I had my first session with Maryam a few weeks ago - I waited before leaving a review because the whole point of laser hair removal is to REMOVE the HAIR, and it doesn't happen immediately. I wanted to be able to report on results before heading to the old yelp to write it up. For starters, she's great - she really knows what she's doing, and she explains everything and answers any and all questions really clearly. I felt very comfortable moving ahead with her. She uses the Soprano Ice Platinum laser - frankly, that's how I found her in the first place. I have a friend in another state who started laser hair removal at a place using the Soprano Ice laser and she couldn't stop talking about how painless it was, and how well it worked. I was intrigued. I did laser hair removal maybe 8 years ago - it was anything BUT painless (seriously I was shocked by how much it hurt, and I used to pay extra for the numbing cream and everything) and even after 15 treatments, the hair was maybe 65% gone. I mean I paid thousands of dollars. I know lasers don't remove 100% but for that much money I expected better. So anyway. I searched to find who had that laser here in Chicago, and voila - I found Maryam. And she not only has the Soprano Ice - it's the Soprano Ice Platinum (look it up and see why it's the best). The pain was zero, to very minimal. Like... night and day from my previous laser experience (thank god). And it's so fast! I was in and out in less than an hour and that was with my first time consult, alllll my questions, and then practically full body (full arms, underarms, full legs, brazilian). And the cost? I'm not sure how she can be so reasonable, honestly. Her pricing is not much more than waxing. And results - ok that's why I waited to leave a review. I mean it's great that she's nice, and it's not so expensive, but if it doesn't work, who cares? Like I said - I have so far only had one treatment, but it's been 3 or 4 weeks and I have noticed a marked difference, especially in legs and underarms. Like - very noticeable. Patches with zero hair growing back, and it's growing very slowly. I can shave and not notice stubble for maybe 4 or 5 days, and that too it's not all over. That is CRAZY. Anyone who shaves daily knows this! She doesn't try to upsell you on some crazy package because as she explained - everyone is different and maybe you don't need as many sessions as someone else. You just go one at a time and when you're done, you're done. Works for me! I didn't expect much of anything from one session (because there's a reason you're supposed to do a few) but I can truthfully say I am really surprised and happy at results from just one treatment. Maryam is amazing!!!! I did a lot of looking around before deciding on a laser hair removal place and I am so glad I chose to go here! I would recommend Laser Illinois to everyone, 10/10. Maryam is very friendly and professional and she always make sure that you are comfortable and gives you all the details about getting lasered. She also has a really cool state-of-the-art laser machine where the tip of it gets down to -3 degrees to help compensate for the heat of the laser. The little tiny zaps are a thousand times better than waxing and she is very conversational so the appointment goes by so fast you don't even notice.
