Amazing restaurant ! Wonderful experience from start to finish. We were seated immediately. Service was spot on, and all of the food was beyond delicious. Rice balls were out of this world as was the risotto appetizer. The Bronzino entree was spectacularly presented and the taste was so fresh and light. The zuppa de pesce was outstanding, the best I have ever had. The chef is obviously an expert at what he does between taste and presentation. We will definitely be going back soon. We were looking for a new place to visit for happy hour and BOY were we happily surprised by this gem! You walk in and go past the pizza area to the bar / restaurant area. We had the meatball sliders to start and WOW are they mouth watering good!!! They are soft, flavorful and absolutely the best meatballs I have ever had. An order came with three sliders and it was only $6. Then we tried their new house specialty pizza. It's a large personal pizza that is big enough for two people to split and they also have an option for a gluten free version. It came with fig jam, arugula and prosciutto on it and it was very addicting and delicious. We had the gluten free version and crust was better than expected. We have since then had the regular version and both are great. For drinks they have the usual stuff, but the sangria is exceptional. read more

This place doesn't even deserve 1 star. So disappointed. This was supposed to be a nice family outing. I knew this was a disaster when the waiter poured our San Pellegrino into a glass of tap water that we had told him to take away from the beginning. Then, to get the food was another story. I'm actually writing this and have yet to receive my dinner (it's been over an hour and counting and I'm surprised I received my appetizer after a half hour). The waiters all look so confused and said that the reason why our meal is taking so long is because we ordered an appetizer! UNREAL. No one even apologized! They had nerve to just ignore us after we asked about the food! If you want to enjoy a night out with family, stay far away from this place!!!! Update: While leaving, the "maître de" who shouldn't even be considered that considering how unprofessional he is, didn't ask about the meal (probably so he didn't have to deal with apologizing to us) and even though several waiters were standing by the exit, not one even said good night or to come again which clearly won't happen anyway. read more

We ate in Sette E Venti for the first time a few months ago and came back frequently after that. Each time, the food was fresh and the portions were big. The service was always great, especially if you get Fallon. She was very attentive and provided top notch service. I love the Zuppa Di Pesce dish. I had it twice and the seafood was always very fresh. It was the best I have had so far at this price range. We had been to this place at least 3 times and each time, we have had a very pleasant dinner. The manager, Dave, stopped by our table to make sure everything was done to our satisfaction. I do not know why anyone complained about this restaurant. I dine out often and had been in many highly-rated restaurants in Manhattan such as 11 Madison Park and Nobu. Sette E Venti is on top of our list because I always have a good dinner and a pleasant evening from this place. I strongly recommended this restaurant. read more

I've been going to this place for years and always liked it. Not tonight. I've always ordered from their menu and my boyfriend orders from their pizza menu. Both of which are entrees. It's Never been an issue. We ask to see the pizza menu and they said no. I go to the manager and she says I have to move to the pizza side. Again I've done this since they opened and was always told, sure you can order from the other menu. We ordered drinks and paid. We told them we were leaving and at that time they offered to allow us to order from the pizza menu. Too late. We left. And they were not bust at all and lost 2 loyal customers read more

I think I saw Chef Boy R Dee in the back. This reminds me of home cooking, from somebody that can't cook. This is the bad New Jersey diner style version of Italian. The picture posted of the ravioli just dumped on the plate with orange tomato sauce says it all as do the mushy gnocchi. read more

I've so far tried this place twice and both times the service was horrible. My first visit was on a Saturday and they were busy so I assumed the slow service was due to that. The food took forever to come out, then they brought the wrong thing for my friends appetizer. The entree felt like it took hours to emerge from the kitchen- when I said something to the manager he did comp our wine and apologize. Because of this I decided to give it a second chance. The second time I went on a Tuesday. Only three small tables were taken yet service was even more slow then the last time which makes absolutely no sense!! We sat down at 6:00 and didn't get appetizers till 7:30, granted it did take them forever to even take our order. When the apps finally did come out there were only two, my third friends dinner was forgotten about and they had to re-put in the order. One of the apps we ordered was the choices of meats and cheese (antipasto) it looked like a mess and the then said they forgot they had no more prosciutto ( how can you be out of that when there's a large amount of food that calls for it?) (ex-mozzarella rapped in prosciutto, veal stuffed with prosciutto.) Over all the food was just okay, service was horrible and extremely slow. I'd suggest hiring more people or sticking to the pizza place they own next door. read more

Great find! At first I Was somewhat taken back by the lack of business but it was a snowy nasty night and the resulting experience was good. Service was excellent and responsive to our desire for quiet enjoyment of an excellent meal. Tried the Eggplant chips, sauce was tasty, Veal Milanese superb....and just the right flavor of anchovies on the Cesar salad. Mate tried the Chicken Sette E Venti and was pleased. Had one of the worst dining experiences in a long time on Saturday night at this restaurant that opened about 2 months ago. It's owned by a pizzeria, Gianfranco's, which is in the same shopping plaza near the Bedford Diner, which might explain their lack of knowledge at running a regular sit down, nice restaurant.. First, they didn't have a table available when we arrived at 6:45 despite having made a reservation nearly two weeks earlier, and we had requested a round table, but the only one available was for 8 people and we had 5. They said the party for that table would be arriving in 15 minutes so they couldn't seat us there, but nobody showed for over an hour and only 6 people were then seated there. We had to push 2 tables together, with on larger than the other, and then had to switch tables when the family behind us with kids running around and banging into our chairs finallyleft, while staff and other patrons were also knocking into us. After my 7 year old got her spaghetti pretty quickly, our appetizers hadn't come out for over 20 minutes. I called the owner over and he said it's only been 7 minutes, as he said he checked the time the order was put in. Not sure how he could even track that or know why I was calling him over, but you don't tell a customer that's it's 7 minutes when it was actually 20+. It's like he was accusing me of lying when, in fact, he was. Would I be inquiring about the appetizers after 7 minutes? Then the waiter tells me the kitchen staff thought we wanted the apps and entrees all together since we asked for my daughter's dish to come out as soon as possible. Obviously we wanted my daughter's entree with our appetizers. By the time the entrees came out it was almost time for my daughter's normal bedtime (8 p.m.). My pasta and shrimp came with the tails on it, even though I had asked the waiter if the shrimp comes without any shells. I sent it back and some bus girl sees what happened and puts in her two cents as tells me she suggests in the future that I specify tails, not shells. I'm thinking she's got to be kidding. I said "What's the difference?" A tail is a shell and I asked for shrimp that can can be eaten without peeling or cutting off anything, which was obvious. When I spoke to the waiter, he didn't say that, but said he thought it came without any shells. He was very nice, though. By the time the entrees came, we had finished our drinks, so I explained everything to the waiter and he gave us 3 drinks on the house. The owner never came over to see how everything was or to apologize. That's not the best way to build up your clientele at a new restaurant. That storefront had been vacant for a couple of years, and has turned over 4 times in the last 10 years. As for the food, it's decent, but there are better choices in the area. read more

I never knew this place was there until I met Fallon the bartender standing on line at court in Cortlandt ready to battle speeding tickets LOL. She was so lovely that a few days later I had to try the place. The food is superb, ambiance is magnificent and cozy and service impeccable. It's one of those places you'd go to every week just because you are made to feel like you are important in this world. Maurizio ("Maurice") is the owner; a very kind, gentle, compassionate and hospitable man. I was there again a couple of days ago for a political fundraiser and this Sunday I will go back to attend Maurice's personal fundraiser for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. The world needs more people like everyone here.....the only thing is, YELP has the address wrong! It's not 740 North Bedford Road, it's 720 - that's what SETTE E VENTI means, SEVEN TWENTY!!!
