    Garden Salad

They get really busy at lunchtime, so if you're going in with a group, make sure to make a reservation. It's a nice restaurant with good quality food and nice and friendly staff. I really liked the vibe as everyone was here on a business lunch. I sat at the bar and ordered "Salmon Tartar" with Garden Salad. They accommodated all my food allergies as well. My food was fresh and very tasty.

I ordered the salmon tartare with fries. The tartare was tasty and paired well with the shrimp crackers. The fries are identical to McDonald's fries, which are my fave fries so I enjoyed them. I let the others at my table try and they agreed they were just like McDonald's fries. They ordered the teriyaki chicken and the red curry and seemed to enjoy it.

We just visited SESAME, the waitress was very nice, the food was great, the atmosphere was relax and easy to have conversations, love it here! Very recommended spot in Old Montreal. Very close to the Basilica Notre Dame. Price wise is reasonable. I ordered Butter Chicken. Sampler plater, General Tao chicken and soup!

Delicious!! We were actually looking for another restaurant and saw this one and decided to try it. Very good attentive service. Food was so fresh and tasty. We had the ravioli appy and the dumplings- both were perfect. I ordered the crispy chili Thai chicken and it was perfect. My dinner mate had the salmon and tuna poke and it was also amazing. We tried the Chinese medicine beverage and it was good to the last drop. So many interesting dishes to choose from- I could go back again and again.

This is my favourite location, and I've been to a few other ones. I feel like the food here is better then the other locations. Started off with a bloody Caesars and it was really good Then we shared some edamame, miso soup, dumplings, general Tao , calamari and pad Thai I like all of the dishes that we took. This place is good for sharing . It has a nice interior decor and a very beautiful bar area, this place is good for big nd small group. I would definitely recommend if you are in the old port

Can't remember but it's the before last drink of the menu, highlight of the night

This is a review I should have written in September but it slipped my mind . Honestly I don't think I would go back to this location at all, I would perhaps go only to the one in the Quartier de Spectacle. We were only a group of 9 , under the 10 people limit which wasn't a big table of orders. 2 of the girls ordered the sharing menu, 3 of the girls ordered the exact same thing , 1 compromised her dietary restriction ( shes vegan but was served chicken?) & 3 of us ordered individual dishes. It's barely understandable to mix up 6 dishes and come out cold and the meat tough but it is completely not understandable how someone could mix up tofu and chicken, that's just irresponsible. The drinks were probably the highlight other than the birthday girl getting her dessert. The service was mediocre and it took them over 40 minutes to bring us our bills. Normally it is normal to do that when the restaurant is full, but as we looked around us , other tables were getting their bills except us . We had asked them if they can at least comp our drinks as a result but they said the value would be too much ( which made no sense since we've ordered maybe 60$ in drinks and over 100$ of food ). At the end they gave us 5$ off coupons which we gave away to random passerby's since we had no plans of returning . For a restaurant situated in the finance part of town and the old port , super disappointing. Covid friendly : hand sanitizer, masks, space between tables ( this is a late review from September )

General Tao lunch special (around $17+tax)

The food is great, but for the price of it, I would expect a sit down with service rather than a cafeteria style dinning. The food is really good. I ordered the general Tao lunch special which came with the option of a soup or spring roll, a drink and a main. The spring roll was somewhat disappointing. It was a little too oily for my liking. I also wish they provided a plum sauce for dipping rather than a fish sauce. Additionally, I was expecting it to be a little bit more bigger/thicker. The general Tao was by far the best I've had. The chicken is crunchy but full of ACTUAL chicken, rather than just breading. The sauce was also really good. It was not too sweet and just enough tastiness haha. The dish was served with rice and vegetables. Nothing to complain about the rice, it was cooked perfectly. As for the vegetables, they could have been steamed/cooked for a little bit longer. The broccoli was way too crunchy (also would've liked to have a couple more pieces of broccoli). Overall, great experience. The staff are super friendly and welcoming of new customers. They take the time to explain the concept of the restaurant. The food portions are great (apart from the spring roll). Definitely enough to remain full. I would recommend giving this place a try! However, keep in mind that it is a cafeteria style "up-scale" restaurant.

    Salmon Tartare -120g

Love this place! Our experience here was great. It was a last minute decision to come by here after the other restaurant we had in mind was completely booked. We didn't want to wait another 2 hours so we decided to check this place out. When you first walk into this restaurant, the ambiance of this place was dim, candlelight tables, with a romantic and high-end rustic vibe. They also offer free WiFi here. We got the 120g salmon tartare with lobster chips and citrus salad and a large Thai coco noodle soup. The tartare was super tasty and I didn't expect the combination of lobster chips with salmon tartare to be this amazing. The noodle soup was sweet and sour with a aromatic floral taste, it was really good! I just wished there was a little more noodles for a large bowl, it felt more like a medium. Overall, it was a great sit down place to hang out with friends or a romantic restaurant for a nice date. I feel like the menu items were decently priced for the quality of a nice restaurant.

Went to a team event in Montreal and tried this Chinese fusion place. Overall good experience. The food was better than fast Chinese food in a nice environment and good service. I had the general tsao chicken and it was a little spicy but overall very good. It's a good choice to meet a craving.

Do NOT try this restaurant as the foods were not worthy of the price point and the service was unacceptable. It took 20 min before the waitress came to our table to take our order even though we were the ONLY customer at the time in the restaurant. Wonton soup tasted like warm ginger broth, which was weird. Tom-yum soup tasked like chicken noodles soup. Pad-thai had no flavor of Pad-thai at all. Bao Burger tasted like candy. The waitress was unfriendly and seemed pis-off all the time. We were 2 people and ordered foods in the amount of $80. Since the service was bad, we gave only $5 tip as we didn't like neither foods nor service and are not planning to return.

Love this restaurant. Not going to lie, I do think it's a little too expensive. Despite that, the food is delicious. The lychee cocktails were the best for summer, made me feel like I was sitting on a beach somewhere. The dumplings were tasty, but I thoroughly enjoyed the tuna poke. It was very fresh and the presentation was gorgeous. Loved the indoors of the restaurant, the lights were adorable.

Open Sesame I went here for lunch and was somewhat put off by the fact that my sister and I were the only customers at the time. This made us a bit weary, but the time constraint and our love of szechuan convinced us to stay. For starters, the lunch menu offers a soup, main and dessert for $20. Not too shabby. I had the spicy Thaie Coco, the Crispy beef and green tea ice cream as a dessert. All in all the quality of the food was good, the vegetables fresh, and the portions fair. The service however was a bit slow considering we were the only ones there, but the waitress was very polite and friendly. They also do Dim Sum and sushi. I'd go back, this time to try their General Tao poutine. Fuggedaboutit'

We had been looking around for some food in the area, and my friend found this little banh mi shop. What a great find! The sandwiches had 7-inch and 10-inch options; we each went with the 10-inch and finished them quickly. My friend also got a spring roll and she said it was the largest spring roll she had ever seen. Service is fast and friendly, and the sandwiches are priced well (compared to banh mi's we get in San Francisco). I ordered the grilled pork sandwich (#5) and my friend ordered the #1 sandwich. I felt my sandwich could have used more meat inside, but the bread was delicious and the fillings paired well. The shop is quite small inside and seating is limited. They also heat your sandwich up so the bread has a nice crisp to it. Friend's Review: "Once you get to the middle, the ratio of bread to meat to veggies is good. The bread was super warm which made it enjoyable to eat."

I really appreciate the ease of booking and how I didn't have to think about what people were going to order. One hiccup was that I had indicated ahead of time that one of the guests had a seafood allergy, which I understand can be difficult for Japanese restaurant. I had expected them to tailor the $70 menu to her, however, they let us know that it was gonna be difficult and instead asked her to pick from the à la carte menu. She had no problem with this, but I felt bad and didn't want her to think that I had an indicated ahead of time of her dietary restriction. Overall, the meal was good. It was a little bit slow to start coming out. I think our total dining time was over two hours which was fine because we were celebrating something but for the first 30 minutes I feel like no food came out. A little bit on the salty side, but I enjoyed every dish. For the price point I think it was perfect. I would recommend this for a group dinner again. The high top tables weren't the most comfortable for such a large group as we were essentially split in two, but for a group of 6-8 it would be perfect!

Let's start with the service: Prefaced by saying that it was not very busy at all (4 to 5 other tables). We were taken to a table and left for quite some time. We sat for maybe 10-15 minutes with no water or menu provided. Once we did finally order and receive our cocktails, they were... off. I ordered their Tokyo Kin which tasted like a watered down lemonade and you cannot convince me there was even a drop of alcohol in that glass. My partner ordered their espresso martini dupe, which was very underwhelming as well. Our food was fine, nothing grand. The presentation was lovely, however, $5 for 3 pieces of shrimp was a joke. Small portions, lack of flavor, and extreme prices made for a very unpleasant dining experience. If not an already frustrating experience, we then went to find our server so we could pay and finally leave. Upon walking to the bar we saw them eating and lounging on their phones. This was a very unpleasant experience and the bill being nearly $90 was laughable for what we received. I would recommend looking into other restaurants in the area unless you are wanting to have a terribly underwhelming experience.

We were also late and I had called the number and left them a voicemail to advise them & when I got there and mentioned this , the host looked at me weird , which I didn't get why and went to see if they can find us another table since they had given our table away since they thought we were going to be a no show ( since they didn't check the phone msg). We got to our table, the waiter was nice and super helpful for the dinner . We had ordered the edamame and chicken gyoza for appetizers. The edamame had a quick since it had a blend of spices to make this Japanese spice & the gyozas were succulent. Mains : my friends had orders the tofu salad and tartare , and I had ordered the bibimbap. Mine was as expected , delicious & so was the tartare. The only main complaint my friend had was for the the tofu salad as there was barely any tofu in the salad and more of the kale . Drinks : I ordered a regular mojito ( not the one on the menu but the classic), one friend ordered a non alcoholic mojito & the other didn't order anything to drink. She had wanted an ice tea since she was driving and the bar actually had everything but ice tea , which was a first . The reason why it's a 3 star is not solely based on the drink selection, but mainly how we were greeted and dealt with at the beginning. I would definitely go back eventually to try again when it isn't raining
