Jim, Lori, and their entire team took very good care of me not once but twice over the years! About 10 years ago I first met them when I discovered a slow leak in my garage from the builders having put a nail through my water heater pipe in the wall many years prior that had finally rusted through. There was mold and my insurance wouldn't cover it (of course). Jim set me up with a good plumber who replaced all the corroded pipes with PEX, and Jim himself worked to remove the mold and seal the walls - saving me from a kitchen remodel I couldn't afford by about an inch of drywall he managed to preserve!! He went the extra mile to help me fix my home at the lowest price for the best work! Fast forward to 1.5yrs ago, when I woke up to my garage on fire and that same pipe he had fixed burst from the heat and flooded on the first story of my home. Smoke damage effected the rest of the house and I was displaced for 13months. I stood in shock in my driveway after the fire engines left, and when my parents asked me who to call next, somehow all I could remember was ServPro. So i googled their number and When Jim showed up we remembered each other! Jim, Lori, and their crew spent long days over the course of the next month fully gutting my garage of the hazardous waste, thoroughly documenting everything that was lost for the insurance, cleaning out the rest of my home (and by cleaning, I mean hand washing every single dish and vase i owned) and packing up everything else in the house that survived and storing it for me for 13months. They even invited me to come get whatever I needed from my storage as the year progressed and saved whatever they could by smoke treating items!... As it turned out - the PEX pipe from about ten years before was a blessing in that the heat caused it to burst up in the wall and not down at the slab where the original PEX ended and the corroded pipes had began!...(and in the end I got my kitchen remodel on the insurances dime- LOL) Jim even worked closely and tirelessly with SoCal Edison, the City of Eastvale Building inspector, an electrician, and my neighbors to get my power turned back on ASAP to run fans to dry out my drywall and prevent mold growth in the first several days after the fire!...I was still traumatized by the whole event, and he took care of everything for me and just billed the insurance with one invoice. Huge weight off my shoulders at that time! After the first MONTH of their hard work at 6 days a week to help me was done and the main contractor he referred me to took over (and did an AMAZING job on my house - see my review for Advanced Restorations!)...Jim and Lori also kept in touch monthly to check on the progress of my rebuild as well as on how i was managing it all on my own. I very much appreciated this! They also referred me to the BEST contractors to clean/store all the fabrics/clothes in the house, help me rebuild it, and fight my insurance for what my house needed. I finally got to move home the week of Thanksgiving 2022. Jim, Lori, and the crew showed up and carefully unpacked all my things and put them back where they had documented it all came from in every room in the house! Lori even stayed with me to help unpack in the kitchen for the day until my family could come help me. This business is family owned, and they treated me like I was family too. I had water damage inside my home as a result of these crazy torrential rains. I was fighting to get some type of coverage and Jim helped walked me through the process with or without insurance coverage. He came and gave a quote right on the spot and followed up with me to schedule work when I was ready. I was getting quotes from other companies that was almost five times more than Servpro from other businesses that wouldn't even come out to look at my place. A lot of places tried to pressure me into signing agreements to start work with them without even giving me a quote. Some companies just flat out refused to come because they were too busy. During inspection we were told we needed 27 fans and 2 humidifiers for 3 days. Each fan was $27 and each humidifier was $77 per day. Plus $600 to take off all the baseboards, kick boards, and set up etc. The estimate was not to exceed $3200. I asked for a breakdown of the estimate, so I'll know if there's other misc fees. But we never got one. Just one line says $3200. We were told the actual cost will depend on how many fans and humidifiers we ended up using and could easily end up being cheaper if less fans are needed each day. It turned out we only needed 21 fans on day 1, 19 fans on day 2, 12 fans on day 3, and 2 humidifiers for each of the 3 days. That's total $1866 + $600 to take off and setup everything. Total should have been $2466. I asked him about the billing on day 3 since we were using only 12 fans. I could tell he wasn't happy I was expecting to pay less since we used less equipments. He kept saying it would not exceed $3200..... that's obvious to us, we used 29 fans ($783) less than what he had initially quote us. The bill came and it was $2690. The fan and humidifier price were not the same on invoice either. I didn't wanna argue, so I just asked them to at least adjust the fan and humidifier price to what we were told $27 & $77. We got a very RUDE response. His exact quote was "I quoted you $3200 to do your job and it's $500 less. My bill is my bill." At this point, I realized they just want to charge you a flat fee for the job, which is ok if they had told me so from the beginning. The whole using less equipment really didn't matter to them. They wanted $3200 for the job. Just be honest about it. (I feel the only reason he didn't charge the full $3200 was because he was pressured to bring the final price down because I let him know I expected it. But he wasn't too thrilled about it, hence the rude response) I didn't expect a business to run like this in 2021. I run my business with transparency. If you're thinking of hiring them, ask for a detailed itemized estimate before doing the job. read more

The water stained a small area of drywall and the water heater was replaced. I recently discovered mold in the area of the stained drywall. I called SERVPRO of Norco/Mira Loma and spoke to Jim. He came out to my residence the same day and gave me a reasonable quote for the demo and remediation of the mold issue. The work began quickly and was completed in several days. I had a pipe leak on. Sunday, of course. I called and someone was at my house within hours. Before they arrived, the helped me turn off my water to prevent further damage. They came to my house and went right to work cleaning up the water, removing the damaged carpet padding, removing the dry way to ensure there was no mold, and placed fans and dehumidifiers. They were very professional and were great at communicating and working around my schedule. They were a little messy and banged into a wall with a pice of equipment but there was already so much damage that this was minor. I also wish it wasn't so expensive but the flood restoration business is like that. You are sort of at their mercy.
