Edgar from Airmaxx proposed several different options for the best way to add air conditioning to our home. He was very knowledgeable, professional, and responsive. They were not the cheapest bid but I was confident they could deliver the quality job I was looking for. Vitaliy and two other installers arrived the morning of the scheduled installation. We walked the job and discussed my expectations. They got started and shortly thereafter Vitaliy came to me with the first problem. The location of one of the ceiling cassette units would not work because of how the roof was framed and the roof pitch. We discussed alternatives and decided on a new location for the cassette unit. The next problem was how to run the line set to the furthest location taking into account the shallow roof pitch and access. After some discussion we came up with an approach. Vitaliy and the crew along with Edgar were able to run the line set to the furthest location. The installation proceeded smoothly until we discovered that one of the condensation drain lines was not working correctly (thank goodness Vitaliy had the foresight to check it before it became a bigger problem). They got the drain line fixed and completed the installation. Before you question why there were "problems" know that any retrofit has potential issues and it is how the contractor addresses them that determines how good the contractor is. I say this having been a high end custom home builder in another state since 1986. Their workmanship was excellent ( lines and items they installed were plumb, level or sloped, and well secured as appropriate). I would not hesitate to recommend Edgar, Vitaliy, and Airmaxx to family and friends.

Vlad texted when he was on his way, and we were impressed with his professionalism, friendliness, and knowledge. He patiently answered all my questions, and importantly, he is trustworthy. Our AC is 15+ years old, but instead of pushing us to install a new AC, Vlad told us to ride it out until it dies before we get a new one. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late.
