Tested the air conditioning unit to see that it was working as it should, which it was he said he wanted to check on the heater. Showed us a very dirt filter and said all he needed to do was hit it with water to clean it. Alex was very knowledgeable and professional. One suggested replacing the furnace, which was not an expense we wanted to have to undertake, one said he'd inquire about a replacement motor but never got back to us, and Adam at Global Heating and Air saved the day!! For a fair price he ordered a universal motor and installed it, and the entire HVAC now works better than before. Adam was highly communicative throughout the process and what I appreciated most was his effort to find us an effective but least-cost solution. I'm sure this cut some costs with remove/setup, but based on some research this is ideal as the weather can get down below 40 degrees where I live. We went with GVK due to this, the fact he took the time to answer all questions thoroughly and honestly, and they were able to install the next business day; got a quote on Friday afternoon and scheduled me for Monday to install the new system. The price was also very competitive with the other options. We did have a delay in starting as they had a mix-up on install dates and had to postpone one day. However, George called and apologized and offered a discount for the mistake and to charge our current system to help keep the house cool until they came out the next day, which I think reflects how he runs a customer focused business. When he did come out that day I had more questions about the setup and based on our discussion we changed the coil for more flexibility in moving the unit in the attic one day. It was pretty clear that George runs a solid business; he double checked they left no trash after leaving, his workers made sure to set up mats everywhere they worked inside, they let us know when they would be using louder tools (as we have a baby), and they stayed until the unit was fully installed which meant they stayed pretty late. I couldn't recommend them enough. George is really easy to work with, does a great job on the customer side and also steps in to do the work himself which is all reflected in the impressive reviews he has.

Once here, he was able to quickly identify the issue with our furnace with the description of issue and confirmed after a quick visual inspection of the related components. He went out of his way to help describe how we could self-service the specific part (if we wanted to do so) should the same issue occur in the future - a tremendous value-add to the experience. Cost quoted for some other work was extremely reasonable as well. George was also exceptionally pleasant to ask questions of and made it clear that getting the best use out of our existing system was the top priority for him/his business. Would recommend George and GVK Heating and Air whole-heartedly. Well worth scheduling out for this level of service.

Just a warning, this review is going to be pretty long. But if you're thinking about reinsulating…read moreyour home, that's a pretty big task, so I'll add as much detail as I can to help you! Background: The credit for green energy was ending in 2025, and I had always wanted to reinsulate my home because it was so cold in winter and super hot in summer. I went through many different companies and seeing how people felt about them, and I saw a lot of horror stories. I called up a few companies and found out that insulation is kind of like roofing, where a sales person and a tech comes, where the tech looks around and the sales person tries to scare you into using their company right then. They might say something like "your attic is super hot" (that's normal, well, up to a point), or "we'll give you a special deal if you say yes right now". Just kind of shady stuff overall. One big thing that people mention is that while insulation is good, you need to airseal your attic as well - this was another thing I was looking to get done. Initial Meeting: So I was kind of expecting that when I called Attic Professional. Fortunately, that was not the case at all! From other reviews you might have figured that the owner, Bryan, is incredibly respectful and treats customers well. I got to experience that as well. One thing I was surprised at is he had inside shoes (the kind you see in Japan) and put them on and off when walking around the house. He went up into my attic and really dug around to look for issues like pests or mold (besides the poor insulation layers). We went around the home together to look for clogged vents. He didn't try to sell me on anything - I remember reading one review that said he didn't try to sell them things they didn't need, and that was my experience too. He said they could put more insulation in on my existing one, or take out the old one and put new one in; but neither would have a substantial difference. I went ahead and asked him to remove the old insulation and put new insulation in just for cleanliness. I even later changed my mind and asked for a custom insulation scheme - some fiberglass batting and mostly blown-in, and he had no problem accommodating that. Oh, and they would include airsealing gaps in the attic with fire resistant foam! Reinsulation: A few weeks later, he and his team brought his truck up to my house. They covered many surfaces with plastic drop cloth to prevent insulation from flying around - they taped doorways so I could come through, and they taped cardboard to corners in the house so their insulation blower tube wouldn't cause damage. They put canvas drop cloths on the floors to protect them. There was a bit of fiberglass and debris around after, but it was very, very minor. I understand how difficult it is to be flawless with cleanup, but these guys were very good. The work was smooth and quick - only a few hours. I didn't have to add much input and the team was in and out. Bryan left for another site for an hour or so, but everyone was just as respectful as Bryan, and they told me he was a very good person to work for. Always nice to see that the employees have a good opinion of the company as well. One thing that I thought was interesting is after they removed all the previous insulation, they let me look at the attic and see how they stapled their measuring tapes. Apparently, some insulation companies will scam their customers and fold up their measuring tapes so it shows more insulation than what's actually in there. I was able to verify myself that all the measuring tapes were correct. Bryan and I did a final check on the attic together and I was very happy. Above and beyond: A month or so later, I was very curious about the insulation and really wanted to optimize the house, so I got one of those FLIR guns (temperature sensor guns) to see if the attic was perfectly insulated. As expected there were a few spots that had a bit of uneven insulation (after all, nobody's perfect), but for the most part everything was good. I sent Bryan a text about these spots, and he immediately he and his crew to come add some more insulation and pack it in. Now everything on the camera looks great. I think it's pretty rare to find such attention to quality, and I was very impressed. Results: In the San Diego weather by home would average 63 degrees when outside it was around 48. Now, the house never drops below 68, and it averages around 72 year round. When it's 85 degrees outside, it might be 76-78 inside. I've seen the temperature inside crack 80 maybe twice in the last year, and never seen it below 65. This is with no heater, no AC running EVER. So TLDR: I would completely recommend using Attic Professional for your insulation. Take a look at their price, but I find their quality far outshines anything I've seen, and I think I got a steal of a deal (with the now-removed credit sadly).

And when the planner's mistake was discovered at the city permit office, he fixed the problem himself without passing that buck to me. He provided clear communications and status updates along the way, gave me options on parts (size, features, etc.) and installation locations, and was super conscientious about every detail. He even split up his work over multiple days to minimize the time I'd be without power in my house. And most of all, his pricing was fair, reasonable, and completely transparent. I want to preface this review with the following: First, there are decent people at this company…read more The receptionist, Emily, and the service tech, Omar, are very nice and I want to believe that they care. Secondly, I want to preface this saying that this was all for service that was under warranty, so I won't be able to review their pricing, since the cost to me was nothing but my time. I initially had an issue where my Speed Queen washing machine would not power on. I did all easy checks (breaker, plug, etc) and decided to call Speed Queen since the machine was still under warranty. They assigned me to Kemper Appliance. They initially came out quite quickly and diagnosed the issue as the control board. They ordered that part, which I am aware is a specialty part requiring a week to arrive. So, the part arrived the following Monday and their tech replaced it quickly in about 15 minutes. The tech left and we proceeded to do laundry the next day (Tuesday). At this point, we immediately noticed that when filling, the machine would make a loud screeching sound and stop mid-cycle, leaving clothes with soap on them and the machine reporting a fill error. I called on Wednesday morning and expressed my concerns that had the tech merely run a cycle, he would have heard the valves immediately and spoke to the owner, who said I would receive a call back to schedule. No call came. I called back on Friday to inquire and they told me that I was on schedule for Monday, even though I was not given this time. Incidentally the time was fine with me. I expressed my frustration to Emily, who was very understanding, and she said she would reach out to the owner, Soumya, who would reach back out to me. In my business, when we mess up a customer's order, they get put to the top of the pile and other customers have to wait. It's uncomfortable to explain to our customers, but it's the price we pay when we make a mistake. In this case, the tech did not test the machine beyond powering it on. The owner disputes this, but I was there for the duration of the service call, and a cycle is longer than the service call duration, so it is impossible that it was tested. Soumya never calls me back and instead I get another call from Emily instructing me to email Soumya. I take the time to write an email to put my concerns into a format acceptable to her. Keep in mind, nothing is on Yelp at this point and I am hoping to get this resolved amicably. She responds to my email basically taking no responsibility and alleging a test was done and that new issues can arise. I understand new issues arise. I would have understood if they said they needed to get more parts after finding the next issue. The problem is that we had almost another week of delay because they did not test and were not willing to own up to their mistake and get me scheduled quickly. She even tells me I can contact Speed Queen to get another servicer, but obviously, since it is Friday, no one will come sooner than Monday anyway. So, the tech comes out on Monday and takes another look and decides to order a valve. This takes another week. Now, I would argue that this is a less-specialized part that should have been on-hand since they are an authorized servicer, but I will let that slide since they're a small company and at this point, what can you do? After the part arrives, they schedule me for the following Tuesday to replace the valve. All seems good. We do some more laundry and now, only hot water will dispense even if we run it on cold. I check our water pressures and water heater temperature before calling again on a Friday. I assume we have all of this past us when I call and ask if they will come again. Emily speaks with the owner and they say to her that they will call Speed Queen on Monday to get me another servicer. Bear in mind, Speed Queen is still open and I say to them that they should call today to get this resolved quickly. I think if Kemper had been more respectful of my time, the least they could do is call that day to get another servicer. But no, that's too much for them. So I say that I would appreciate they call today or else I would call Speed Queen and explain the service issues that I have had with them and that I would request an alternate servicer myself. Emily says she will talk to the owners. At this point, if the owners had just called me and apologized, this could have resolved everything. But they have so much ego that they can't bring themselves to speak to a customer. So, the receptionist calls me back and says that they will not call Speed Queen today or Monday and that I am free to leave whatever feedback I like. So, with their blessing, I present this review to you all. I gave this company many opportunities to the right thing. I understood new issues popped up. What I can't abide is them not respecting my time and not owning their mistakes. This review could have been avoided so easily.

I had a furnace installed by Tytum, and I'm extremely happy with the overall experience. Dan, the owner, and his team were fantastic to work with--very responsive and helpful from start to finish. The initial quote they provided was competitive, and they also offered practical, reasonable recommendations that suited my needs perfectly. Dan was able to arrange the installation fairly quickly, just within a few days after quote has been accepted. They were also quick to adapt to changes, such as processing an upgraded model change on the invoice without hesitation, which I greatly appreciated. We had a fantastic experience with Tytum HVAC! They installed a new hybrid AC and heating system along with completely new ducting, and the entire process was professional from start to finish and took less than 2 full days! The install crew was knowledgeable, responsive, and took pride in their work. Nick N (install manager) explained everything clearly and walked around with me to ensure I understood what they were doing in each room. I initially contacted Tytum HVAC because I was having issues with my heater and chose them based on their positive online reviews. Dan came out to assess the problem and was extremely helpful and professional. After discussing the age of my unit and the fact that I didn't have AC, he provided several replacement options without any pressure to purchase, which I really appreciated. I ultimately chose the best option for my budget--a 4-ton hybrid unit. Dan repaired my existing 20+ year-old system so I could get through the holidays, and we scheduled the installation for after Christmas. The installation team arrived on time and completed the entire job in two days. They relocated the unit to the attic and even installed a light with a switch, which allowed me to convert the old indoor unit space into a hallway closet. We are beyond grateful to Alex Babin for the wonderful work he performed over our home the last two days. TIMELY- Uriel called 30 min before his arrival and then, arrived at the stated time. This is particularly helpful so I can move my bunny to another room with all of his belongings. ATTENTION TO DETAIL - I saw him place a protective cloth down on the floor before he placed the ladder and tools down. I also noticed there was a bottle of cleaner with his supplies. He cleaned the inside vents as well as the compressor on the roof. He also tied off a loose wire/when checking the air handler in the ceiling. KNOWLEDGEABLE and THROROUGH - Uriel did a complete system check and then, he sat down with me to explain what was done and why. He addressed the concerns I had about some of the prior readings in terms that I could understand and shared tips that will help ensure my system runs at its most efficient. Example: A higher MERV doesn't always mean "better" and can actually restrict the airflow. He said that for my particular system I should use a MERV10 filter and change it every 3 months. He changed my filters and then, left me with two spares to use before the fall check comes. FRIENDLY - In the course of chatting with Uriel, it came up that I might benefit from having more filtered air coming into my condo. He made a recommendation for a part that would replace the standalone room air purifier I currently use. He placed this info into the after-visit summary so I can "research it and see if it fits with my needs and finances." There was zero pressure to make a purchase on the spot. And while this next item has nothing to do with the knowledge or ability of an HVAC tech, I greatly appreciate that he did NOT smell like cigarette / e-cigarette smoke or strong cologne as I have a bunny and people in my family have asthma. Three companies were asked to give me bids for replacement of my 25+ yr old system. Another bidder did not bring any diagnostic equipment, but was very ready to come back to repair or replace the ac and would at that time inspect the furnace. His bid for replacing the ac did not even mention the need for permits. And then, there's Straight Shooter. They were already my service company and at check up time, Rich was concerned about the refrigerant level. He asked to come back on a warmer day to be sure the cold had not given a false reading. Rich also suggested it was time to find out if the aging system needed replacement due to some others signs. I asked him to arrange that, so Scott came the same day Rich returned. At that time, a crack was found in the furnace heat exchanger. Also, it was determined the ac refrigerant loss was so significant, repair would be too costly, especially for the ac's age. Scott kindly spent enough time with me explaining options that I had clarity about them. Just a few days later Eric, Dillon and Forest installed a heat pump that does both jobs! I am well pleased. The Straight Shooter Company IS a straight shooter!

But it's really rare (in my experience) when a service company not only exceeds every expectation but continues to year after year. Krystal is incredible and her attention to follow up and personal communication is the best I've experienced. My system is not new but we did have a new Ecobee thermostat installed a few years back. Huge fan of this company and I'd recommend to anyone! They installed it easily and works (worked haha) perfectly until we had an accident in the attic (by no fault of theirs) that damaged the wire leading to the thermostat. Billy shot right over and diagnosed the issue due to his electrical smarts (and that he can fit up in my attic the size of a mouse trap). Sorry Billy. With old houses and older units, like ours, sometimes rewiring can be really difficult and many times not the best solution. Which was the case in our situation. Instead, the best fix for the wiring issue, was no wiring at all. Thank you technology! Billy suggested installing a wireless remote transmitter on the furnace that could talk to my favorite Ecobee thermostat. Simple solution to an old house problem. The system is up working properly now and it was all done quickly and with no stress. How many times can you say that with a non functioning system in an old house!
