Our aging furnace started giving us problems and we decided to replace with a dual system of a Gas furnace and an Electric Heat Pump. After thoroughly researching prices and practices over 2 weeks, I picked Tytum because they had the second most competitive price AND also looked like they were serious people. The range of quotes I got for basically the same thing was extreme with a well known name quoting exactly double the price! Tytum exceeded my expectations by being on time, thorough and polite, providing guidance through the selection process, installing the system in almost a single day and leaving the place like they found it. For the installation, they had to do electrical work, installation of the pump outside, quite a lot of building in the attic and replacing some of the conduits. The new system was functional 1.5 days later and they dealt with the licenses, pre-inspection and supported the city inspection. I originally gave Tytum a 5 star review for their work installing our Carrier whole house heat pump. They were professional, timely, courteous, and the install went flawlessly. Their pricing was very competitive. Because the first project went well, we returned to Tytum for a heat-pump water heater. The project did not go well, but I will still give 5 stars because their support, in the face of a lot of unexpected problems, was great. The main problem was not with their work, but actually with Rheem offering three different ways the water heater could integrate with a recirculating instant-hot water pump. The long and short is at least one of the Rheem official connection diagrams flat-out failed to work. Tytum really worked hard to resolve the problem, as our original water heater and circulating system worked for 20 years it was not a question of whether the house had an issue. They worked on multiple 2 hour support calls with Rheem, who provided bad advice, and can by three times. In the end, I suggested redoing the plumbing to try an alternate configuration, which did work. Because they really stayed committed to resolving the problem, even though they certainly lost money installing the circulating pump, I give them 5 stars for their clear commitment to getting things right. Had an excellent experience beginning to end with this company. We had them install a bathroom exhaust fan in an upstairs bathroom as well as an electrical outlet behind the toilet for a bidet. Not only did they offer the best value of the 3 companies we received estimates from but they were able to schedule quickly and complete the project in a timely manner. Alex Babin came out to conduct the initial estimate and quote and I was impressed that he showed up with his own shoe covers. Though minor, this was greatly appreciated as we don't wear shoes in our home. This extra attention to detail was missed by the other companies estimators. When the installers came they immediately took off their shoes during their inspection and before starting work also laid down thick drop clothes in a pathway leading upstairs from the front door. They were friendly to me and my kids and very professional. The new fan is so quiet that it's hard to tell when it's on but absolutely works. We ran a test with incense stick and it immediately sucked up the smoke from several feet away. There is zero fogging now in that bathroom when we shower.
