I've passed this Serop's so many times but I've never tried this location but I'm so so glad that I decided to yesterday. I ordered the combination platter which came with chicken schwarama, gyro, hummus, rice, and salad for about $18. At first I felt as though that was pretty pricy for a combination platter, but after trying it, I can say that it's definitely worth it. The amount they gave me filled me up and it was some of the best I've had. I especially loved their chicken schwarama which might be some of my favorite I've ever tried! The dressing on their salad was garlicy but not overpowering like some places make it. The food was delicious and our waitress was super nice and attentive, but one of my favorite parts about this place were the owners. From sitting at the tables at the restaurant, you can see the owners preparing the food. They greeted people as they walked in, talked to customers, and thanked us for coming in. This was the first time I've ever been to this location, and I could tell that the restaurant was filled with regulars. Even if you have never been there, they were super nice and acted like they've known you forever. Many people came in for to-go orders and stopped to talk to the owners while they cooked because they knew them as regulars. I love when places are so personable and family-oriented. I can tell this is a big reason why so many people have chosen to go back time and time again, which is another reason I cannot wait to go back

This goes into my Mediterranean list. Totally. It is one of the better ones around. And Baton Rouge has a lot of them. * what I like about Serop's is that it does really Good on basic things which you expect to be tasty. Their humus was good. I have had humus at places where I felt it was too watery and that it doesn't have the fresh taste. You go to one of these places not to have a humus which tastes like the ones we get in Walmart. This place has good humus. Period. * they also had decent chicken shawarma and since it's safe and economical to have this at most places. The lunch platter was not as much of chicken shawarma as I would have expected but then the meal was alright. * their salad for starters wasn't as good. Something was missing. * I went for lunch and the place was full. Everyone around comes to this place for lunch I guess. * the service was fast and it was around 13$ with for the lunch platter. Which I think is slightly on the expensive side ( Grad student woes )

This is right in my 'hood and I can't believe this was my first time here. They are not always open during the times I have wanted to go there. The owners were sweet and the service was fast. It wasn't busy at all, so we even got to sit at a table while we waited for our to-go order. My go-to is baba ghanouj and gyro meat. I seriously could eat that all the time. It may not be all that adventurous, but I do love gyro meat and the eggplant based baba ghanouj (I prefer over hummus). The gyro plate I ordered came with rice and hummus already, so why order a separate hummus appetizer? Also ordered some falafel, which I absolutely love eating most of the time. This falafel was a bit underwhelming. It looked so beautifully appetizing, but when I tasted it, I was bummed that it did not taste as good as it looked. Even my daughter, who is a kid foodie was like, "eh, it was okay" and she knows good food. As for the gyro meat, it was good, but basic and again nothing stood out about it. Will I be back? Of course! It's way to convenient from home. Is it my first choice for Mediterranean & Greek food? No because there are a couple other spots in town that I do love! One rhymes with yorba and the other rhymes with coroona =) Get my drift?

Best Greek & Lebanese restaurant in BR. Gyros isn't greasy like some places. The baba ganoush is addictive.

Albasha Greek & Lebanese Restaurant - Chicken Shawarma plate. So goooood and healthy

But it's a cuisine that…read morecomes to mind when I think of this city thanks to this spot along with the stellar reviews that accompany it. This is one of three Albasha locations in the southeast Louisiana area. Thank god this location is near our field office in Baton Rouge which is where I was assigned to in early October allowing me to dine at this spot for lunch. The dining area spacious with plenty of seating. It does get a lot of traffic during the weekday lunch hours; probably cause of the lunch specials that are offered which we took advantage of. The menu consists of your typical Mediterranean eats such as hummus, baba ganouj, stuffed grape leaves, spanakopita (spinach pie), chicken/beef schwarma, lamb shank, moussaka, and kabobs (just to name a few). Lunch specials involve plates which include a feta cheese salad, rice pilaf, and hummus that accompany the entrees. Ranging from $14-18, this is quite the steal, especially during times like these. The Lamb Shank lunch I ordered was delicious with plenty of food that I had to have a to-go box to bring the remainders with me. The chicken shwarma and vegetable platter were ordered by other parties who both loved them. And we also started with the fried cheese which is served in a bed of olive oil and spices with some cucumbers, tomatoes, and olives. Very tasty, especially with the vegetable garnishes. I need to get another assignment in Baton Rouge so I can come back here again!

I felt like I was back in the 80s at the bar Cheers. The regulars have been gate keeping but their secret is out now. One of their bartenders--Logan--was exceptional! Logan made me the best paper plan that I've ever had. I liked it more than my beloved Old Fashion. They've got a new regular in me.

The portions were perfect, the flavors all blended nicely, with nothing too salty, too bland, or overpowering other flavors in the dish. Their hummus and pita are all made fresh in house, and a must try for appetizer. I then ordered the rice, chicken and lemon soup bowl along with the politika meatballs. The soup is best described as slurping down comfort food. The meatballs were a blend of beef and lamb, which helped to bring down the bold flavor of lamb, and allowed all the flavors of the saganaki tomato sauce to complement. All of that still some left room for desserts. I don't think you can go wrong with any of the choices. They all looked good. I went with this custard filled filo that was drizzled with honey. It's baked to order, so it was fresh, warm, crispy flakes of filo, and sweetened with honey and a hint of orange zest. Honestly, it's difficult to put it into words to describe it perfectly, but it was very good.

Plain and simple fast food Greek and Lebanese food. An abbreviated menu from their big restaurant…read morelocation, it's sort of a subway/chipolte style pick you item sort of deal. Everything was fresh and there was enough for two small meals in my lite box with chicken shawarma. I couldn't really figure out if there were any vegetarian types of plates or not, and there was a line forming, so I just grabbed something easy. It's very inexpensive, and staff was friendly and overall helpful. If I need something light and easy, I'll be back!

I soon realized that parking on the side (nearest the door) is also an Issue, because you may not be able to get out due to the drive thru line. That's the Second hurdle. Once you make it inside, it's still a madhouse. This express location does not work exactly as the others do. There was an older gentleman you go to first, he writes on your box what number you want. That may take a moment, as he didn't seem fully familiar with the menu. Then your box is sent down the line with numerous other boxes. If you have any special order issues, it's quite difficult to get them to whichever person who ends up fixing your food. This can cause mixups. The other locations have the same person taking your order and fixing your actual plate. So you tell them as you go what you want. The latter is what I'm used to. This was a mess. My food ended up correct after I called out several times and got the attention of the person fixing it. Meanwhile the older gentleman came and attempted to give my order to a man in front of me in the line. I had to tell him several times that it was mine. It was crazy. My husband ended up with an incorrect order, which I just took, as it was too difficult to attempt to get it corrected. I was just glad to leave. I think process was set up to possibly move the line faster, but it honestly doesn't. Either way, at the cost of customer service, which is SO great at the other locations, it's just not worth it. I'll continue to drive to the other restaurants. I like the friendliness and control over my meal that I get at those. Finally, last hurdle: Getting out of the parking lot. If you think you've avoided a line of cars behind you and you can easily back your car out by parking at the front of the place, near the busy street. Wrong again! The exit sits at one side of it. And again I couldn't get out. When I tell you I was beyond happy to finally leave this place!! It would be an understatement. As for the food, it was okay. Not as good as other locations either. Chicken was dry and the rice lacked tenderness & flavor.
