Albasha is on another level! From the moment you walk in, you're welcomed with amazing service. The entire staff is friendly, attentive, and professional. They take the time to walk you through the menu and offer great recommendations based on your taste. The food? Absolutely delicious! Every dish was perfectly prepared. The hummus was creamy and flavorful, the lamb incredibly tender, and the rice seasoned to perfection. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients and cook with real care. Everything was plated beautifully--like something you'd expect at a Michelin-starred restaurant, but with the warmth and hospitality that makes you feel right at home. One of my favorite spots by far. I'll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it! read more

My son gets the kids chicken schwarma with feta salad and absolutely loves it. My husband gets the meat Mousaka plate and we always have left overs for the following day. We got take-out tonight and ordered two chicken shawarma plates. Probably the worst Mediterranean food I've ever had. Chicken was rotisserie-like; so salty and over-spiced that neither me or my wife could eat it. Rice bland. Hummus bland. Salad sad. read more

I haven't been to Albasha Express in probably about two years so I was so excited to go back tonight! I went inside to Place a to-go order and realized the inside was completely different! They added a bar area and it's more of a sit down restaurant inside now, it was super cute. I ordered the chicken shawarma plate which was SO good! It came with 2 pieces of pita bread, hummus, salad, rice pilaf, and a pile of chicken. The chicken was so delicious and the hummus was perfect. The rice doesn't have much flavor to it but I'm addicted to how buttery it is! I'm not the biggest fan of the regular salad dressing because it has such a strong garlicky taste, so I asked for no dressing and instead ordered a tahini to go on it and omg was it a game changer! I also ordered the falafel which they changed from an order of 3 to an order of 6 but I wasn't complaining because they were super tasty and a decent size. Their prices have gone up but I mean that's pretty much everywhere these days and the portion size filled me up! I do wish a drink came with the meal but I forgive since it's just so dang good. The staff were kind and it only took about 10 minutes for my order to come out. I can't wait to go back asap!!! read more

Albasha Express's drive through is great especially during these times. The drive through attendants were wearing masks but the kitchen staff behind were wearing them improperly, with noses being out. Their feta salad was lacking in dressing and it felt really lacking/disappointing. The red onions weren't soaked so they were raw and very spicy. It was unsatisfactory and I wouldn't order that from them again. The salad did not sit well with me and I did not finish half of it. Their kids meal does not seem worth the pricing at all. The fries to chicken ratio was disappointing and while the chicken was nicely seasoned, it was a bit dry. Their gyro combination plates are good but this experience was just disappointing this time around. read more

This may be unpopular opinion but this is my favorite albasha location, maybe even my favorite Greek place in the area! I have yet to be disappointed by Albasha Express and it's cheaper than the sit down locations. I order from here at least 2 times a month and they are always consistent! I love that they have a drive through. One of my major turn offs of getting carry out food is having to go inside and wait for food. At Albasha express you can get the fast food experience but get sit down restaurant quality food. read more

Keto-Lovers: Delicious and fresh everytime Go to favorites is the combination (gyro/chicken) substitute the rice for eggplant moussaka. Delicious add on is the spinach pie; combination of the Grecian sauce and lemon definitely elevates the flavours. read more

Albasha Express is very good. Everything tastes the same as the other Albasha locations. My only 2 critiques are: When eating on site, they still put your food in a Styrofoam to-go container, why not just use plates? Because of these containers, they give you significantly less salad than at the regular restaurant, which is a big bummer. Increase the salad portion, and Albasha Express might be a 5 star. read more

I only ever get the combination feta salad. It comes with chicken shawarma, gyro meat, onions, feta, and a really solid Greek dressing. Also 2 pieces of piping hot pita bread are included. Im always full after I eat and it never misses. read more

Food was great, service was great. It was very clean and quiet for the most part. You self-seat and a waitress came to us to take our orders almost immediately. Good quality food, I think. I have had much better drive thru greek food (Green Café in Denham Springs). At Albasha express I got the penne Alfredo pasta with chicken shawarma for about $10. I thought the chicken was very good despite the reviews I read that said it was super salty. The Alfredo pasta itself was bland. Decent...but bland nonetheless, nothing special. My boyfriend got the fried cheese for $8 and it was ridiculous. We opened it up and our jaws literally dropped at how tiny the serving was It was definitely delicious, but not worth $8 from a drive thru in our opinion lol. I got takeout from here a few weeks ago and I was kinda disappointed. Coronavirus is at its peak so I'm adding an extra star for benefit of the doubt. But it was pretty expensive for a quite small portion of food and my kebab gyro barely had anything in it except meat; there were just red onions and like one piece of lettuce. Not enough sauce, not enough flavor. Probably will pick other local restaurants instead in the future. read more

Have gotten orders wrong three times in a row (we have been eating there a lot during the pandemic). But, as another patron mentioned, the kitchen staff wears masks under nose and on chin. When manager was notified, he was rude and dismissive. He claimed that he was an owner but he certainly wasn't concerned about the repercussions. At any rate, it is obvious that he never took management 101. Customers can overlook botched orders and misplaced face masks, but the management can break a place. I have worked with the public most of my life and I know how annoying it can be. After what I witnessed, I had to give two stars for the front/drive through employees. This Albasha recently opened on March 22nd. I finally got a chance to try it today. In comparison with the other Albasha restaurants in the area, this one has no waiter/waitress service. When I walked in, I was greeted almost immediately by the employee by the counter. He was super friendly and asked if I needed any more time. I had an idea of what I wanted to get before I even walked in. I got the chicken and gyro combination plate. It is served with rice, hummus, a side Greek salad, pita bread, and a cup of the tzatziki sauce. Overall, the food was decent. Portions were good and the price wasn't too bad. This place is definitely convenient if you are looking for a quick bite to eat. It even has a drive thru so that makes it more convenient. I will definitely be back. As a mediterranean food lover, Albasha Express is exactly what i needed to open up by where i live! This place is just as good as the other albasha restaurants, but without the wait. the alfredo pasta will not disappoint!! sometimes the workers can be a little moody if you go in late. once i was asked to not sit down and eat inside, but take my food to-go instead because it was 45 mins before close and they were starting to clean up. thought that was a little rude, but whatever, the food made up for it. read more

This is my go-to Mediterranean place in Baton Rouge for a quick salad. I get the Gyro Feta Salad. They give you a fairly large portion of gyro meat. The bread (pita?) is really fresh and always served warmed. My only critique is that the Grecian sauce is $.75 extra for a small cup. I didn't even get the cup I ordered in my to-go bag when I went through the drive through ‍. Regardless, I'll be back. read more

On my latest trip to the Baton Rouge area it was time to try this new quick version of Albasha, one of my favorite restaurants in this town. I am impressed. Although the menu here is limited as compared to the proper restaurants in the Albasha family, the combination chicken/gyro plate I ordered tastes just as good. The portion size is about the same and the price might be a bit cheaper to boot. Next on my list is the halloumi cheese sandwich. Sounds delicious. Add to the above how quick the service is and that it's open to 10 PM on weeknights, I know where I'm going when the middle eastern craving kicks in after a long day at the office. I've been here quite a few times and plan on coming back many more. The gyro meat here, typically my first choice at any Mediterranean restaurant, is very tender. 2 of my favorite greek places closed and I never knew about this one until recently. I thought certain things like the house dressing I love was a secret recipe to the other place I had it, but nope... they have it here and the food is PHENOMENAL! I'm on Keto, so being able to have gyros, chicken and the salads even without the hummus or rice is a huge plus! I literally feel like I'm cheating everyday! Not sure if it was an off day or if the food is always this bad. It was my first time visiting an express version of Albasha. So very disappointing and surprising. The Lebanese tea was a little bitter, the Grecian sauce bland with no cucumber taste, the gyros dry as jerky, the chicken swarma was so over seasoned it was inedible and the salad was lack luster. Hands down the worst Greek food I've had in the BR area. I appreciated that when I called to complain, the manager offered to refund my CC or give me another other on the house, but I paid with cash and will not be eating there again. read more

Ordered two lentil soups, kibbi and eggplant mousaka to go. We got home and the lentil soups had a rancid rotten smell and taste. We had to throw it out. So upset that we spent $10 on soup we couldn't eat for dinner. Really disappointed. read more
