The best way to "do brunch" is to go with a couple of good friends and use Sunday brunch as a time for laughter and indulgence, no matter what time it is. The general consensus is that brunch happens between 11 am and 4 pm. The typical brunch menu has a wide variety of breakfast foods, catering to different brunch preferences. My partner, our friends, and I have been several times to Sergio's Missione, located on Mercer Street in Lodi, for dinner and wanted to try their recently announced brunch. Upon arrival, we waited 15 minutes until one of the staff recognized us and got a table in their cozy and casual main dining room. OpenTable confirmed our reservation. Their Sunday morning menu features breakfast and lunch with a brunch buffet. Don't expect a grand buffet. It was basically a breakfast/lunch combo consisting of scrambled eggs, sausage patties, home fries, French toast, chicken francese, pasta, and green salad. The price was reasonable at $12.99. The buffet was tasty, delicious, and could have been a bit hotter. It pains me to inform that the service was very slow. We were greeted by the owner and made small talk before it started to get busy. We'll stick with dinner.

Hidden gem. A real hole in the wall, this place is pretty good. Not the best of anything Iv ever had but it's good, a nice meal. Bread and butter when you sit down the bread is very good, hard outside really fluffy and soft inside. Pasta was great sauce had great flavor, my only negative was I like my chicken cutlets very thin and these are a bit thick, again the sauce was very good. Will definitely be back here for dinner service was excellent. Pro Tip, go on Groupon you can get a gift card for 30$ and get 50$ worth of food

My father decided on Italian Food last minute this past Father's Day, so we ended up at Sergio's. Getting a reservation for 7 adults and a baby was pretty easy. The restaurant seems small from the outside but they've got a decent amount of space. The interior is dimly lit and I think describing it as 'intimate' is accurate. The dishes aren't family style but I ended up trying everyone's food anyway. Everything was delicious but my favorites were the carbonara and the mushroom ravioli. My dad loves linguini with clam sauce and he said Sergio's is really good. He usually doesn't finish what he orders, but this time he cleaned his plate. I ordered the chicken parmigiana and it was solid, but not amazing. After tasting everyone else's dishes I'd probably go for a different dish next time I come back. Service is friendly and quick. I'll be back.

Another delicious meal as I was taken here by a friend for my birthday. We shared the burrata appetizer which was a perfect amount for us along with an entrée. We both had Sergio's mushroom ravioli with the outstanding vodka sauce. The raviolis are large and filling. Amazing service and an incredible atmosphere.

Nice ambiance. More upscale classic. Service very good. Went on Xmas Eve. They had a special Xmas Eve only menu. Drawing upon a select few of their offerings. Not the standard menu. Was disappointed by the limited offerings. While most dishes were okay, mine was chicken Adriana. At first was fine until started eating second chicken thigh, it was undercooked. Stated it to server but he basically brushed it off as if I was finished. It was not worth eating for risk of undercook poultry. Unfortunately they did not care to ask further about the undercooked portion. So a bit disappointed in their concern or follow-up to make good on it. Made the visit feel like I won't be trying again.

This charming brunch spot is an absolute steal at just $12 for a BYOB buffet! They serve brunch from 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM and switch to dinner service from 5:00-10:00 My mom and I were warmly greeted by Luis and his wife they were incredibly kind and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The space is wonderful: quiet, spacious, and really comfortable. The buffet offers great variety and plenty of fresh options. There's a self-serve waffle maker (the waffles come out hot and delicious), and they have fresh-squeezed orange juice that's a nice touch. Everything on the à la carte menu is prepared fresh and hot as well. The only minor note is that some buffet items can cool down toward the end when the chafing dishes run low, so arriving earlier helps get the freshest selections. That said, you can always get hot waffles made to order right away! Highly recommend this affordable, friendly spot perfect for a relaxed, satisfying brunch.

We love this place. But another restaurant we suggested to friends that didn't end up liking. We loved everything. Feels like an old mob spot. Went Christmas Eve and got a prefix menu that was very good. Need to try on regular night again.

I chose Sergio's for my boyfriend's birthday because I always loved the Clifton location. Everyting was amazing!! He didn't love the chicken marsala and the owner actually noticed, came over and replaced it free...

A 3 for average. I was so bored with everything You will pay an extra $10 if you want to share your food with a friend. Absolutely ridiculous. The mushroom ravioli with pesto was good. Not great but good. Pasta was cooked very well. 3.5/5 The penne vodka. I've had better. Would never get this again. I want to be wowed. This was not doing it for me. Way too much sauce. 3/5 Chocolate vanilla hazelnut. It had a wafer in the middle so it was crunchy. I don't know. I just did not like it. It tried so hard to taste good but the flavors seem conflicting. 2/5

Ask the Community - Sergio's Missione

Is there any special deals for take out? Is the whole menu available?

I thought there was a sign outside advertising a specific "specials" night? Maybe a deal on a Tuesday or something?

They have many specials each night but they are pricey. Not "specials" as far as pricing. I never saw a sign outside. I'm going back tomorrow and next week. 👌

Is restaurant spacious enough for a party of 13? Is there a parking lot to park the car?

There is a parking lot behind the restaurant by the bank drive thru. And yes they have plenty of room for a party of 13, two rooms downstairs and one room upstairs.

Located on the busy West Pleasant Avenue in Maywood, my partner, our friends, and I decided on Amici's, translated from the Italian meaning "friends." Upon arrival for some of us as first-timers at this family-owned BYOB neighborhood establishment, we were greeted by the staff and got a table for 5 inside one of the dining rooms by the window for a celebratory dinner. Outside dining is available, weather permitting. Their menu features authentic Italian staples such as wood-fired pizzas, classic pasta dishes, and homemade comfort food. As appetizers, we decided on the Rice Balls with vodka sauce. For our main meal, we opted for the Flounder Francese, Eggplant Parmigiana (one with spaghetti and another with linguini), Paccheri with Seafood, Roma Pizza, and Tossed Salad. Some meal accompanied by a side salad. Complimentary bread began our meal. Everything tasted fresh and well-balanced. One can tell they take pride in their ingredients and preparation. The pasta especially deserves all the hype, rich, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The portions were healthy and suitable for a second meal. The prices were reasonable. The owner, Rosario, would personally visit each table for small talk. The entire staff was warm, attentive, and genuinely cared about making our experience special; our server was Dawne. So, the next time one sits down to eat, take a moment to appreciate the experience. Savor the flavors, yes, but also relish the connections that form across the table. In a world that sometimes feels divided, food serves as a reminder of our shared connections. This is exactly how a business needs to be run; therefore, we highly recommend Amici's to anyone looking for true back-home dining.

But he said it was so bad that he couldn't even eat it. He ended up throwing it away. I was equally disappointed. Maybe more so. There was no way that vegetable roll was made that day let alone any sooner than two days before. It was so stale. It was hard as a rock. And I hadn't even heated it up. I cut into it right after I brought it home. It also tasted stale. I ended up throwing it away too. Broccoli Rabe roll was a tad better. It wasn't hard as a rock. But it wasn't fresh either. It tasted meh. The only thing I was happy with are the prepackaged taralli. They were imported and were lovely. Go there for the prepackaged imported food products. Don't waste your money on the dicey homemade food experience.

Then there's .... the bread..... the bread.... Nowhere in America is there bread like this. This is the real deal (NOT the chain supermarkets--you know who you are) that offer supposedly "Italian" or "French" bread with marshmallow softness attributed to all the preservatives and polysorbate 80. No Signore, this bread contains all the goodness of that crispy crunchy exterior with pure angelic cloud interior that melts in your mouth! Bread this good can be eaten as dessert... (if there aren't any cannolis around).... Yeah they got those here too... We couldn't decide, and we were running late so we ended up grabbing a loaf of semolina bread just in from the oven and a container of Sicilian olives (with pits! Don't waste my time with pitted olives that taste like salted cardboard). Could say more but why? Veni e guarda (look and see for yourself)... Highly recommended. We'll be back! Ce' vediamo dopo.
