Lechon plate with substituted cauliflower rice.
Betty C.

This is our first time at Sergio's after having come to Miami for many decades. As others have noted, it's OK, it's not great and it's not terrible. Will elaborate why Two of us arrive first and the other two came about seven minutes later. The server brought us serving utensils and water and then didn't come back for at least 15 minutes. She took her order and my order was a bit of a fiasco as I wanted to substitute the moros with cauliflower rice (and pay the up charge), and a side salad instead of the yucca with Mojo. Of course it was a big hullabaloo, and the only reason I wanted to do this was because they don't offer the roast pork as an addition to salads. They offer shrimp, salmon and chicken, but not the roast pork, which is one of their standard proteins. Kind of ridiculous right? The croquetas came out and they were so so. Not crispy, not golden brown, not hot - maybe 105°F. Hope we don't get sick! The flavor was mediocre, they were not creamy at all. Lots of bread crumbs in there. The Cuban sandwich came out, and it had not been pressed at all. Although it was chock full of pork and ham, it was cold and not at all what a Cuban sandwich should be. Fortunately, the midnight sandwich aka Media Noche, appear to be somewhat pressed and warmer than the Cuban sandwich. The grilled chicken strips with peppers looks tasty and my plate of roast pork with griddle on onions was very good. I poured it over my side salad and ate it with the grated cauliflower rice. That was a really different texture than I'm used to and I liked it. Right before our food got served one of us ordered a side of Tostones. You should've seen the server's face thought she was gonna lose it. All in all it was OK, although I don't know that I would return and I certainly wouldn't order croquetas or a Cuban sandwich.

It was disappointing. The order came quickly and was good. But we had to ask for bread. We expected the buttered Cuban bread but got cold garlic bread. Then the waitress went missing and we had to ask for bread. It arrived after the meal was delivered. I like technology a lot so when the robot comes out with another tables food it was interesting. But it stoped 2 inches from my elbow.

Good times with Yanexi, she's the best!

Great Coffee and croquetas. Great service and ambiance. Good times great friends. A morning ritual that's priceless.

Solid Cuban Food with Quick and Friendly Service. Wife had a hankerin for Sergio's Cuban Nachos which are instead of the traditional tortilla chips they use sweet plantain chips. They are ridiculously addictive. Along with the plantain chips you get your usual Nachos add ons like tomatoe, onion, guac, sour cream but instead of ground beef you get pulled pork which is marinated in a tamarind bbq sauce. It's so effing good. Once you start you can't stop. And portion size is enough to fill up two people. Definitely worth trying if you haven't already. But aside from this dish we specifically came for, we ended up grabbing an order of torejas for dessert. Which is Cuban bread soaked in simple syrup and is a very traditional Cuban dessert. It was also very good. Service like always is quick and friendly. Plenty of tables inside and out. We decided to sit in the outside covered section and the weather was perfect. Overall a great spot to come for any occasion and enjoy some solid Cuban food.

I love my cafecito from Sergio's.

Sergio's has the best parking off of Coral Way! It's massive and so convenient, but come here for the coffee and the croquetas! You'll notice immediately that they have both a nice seating area indoor and outside for you to pick from. However, they also have a great Ventanita (express window) for you to just grab some coffee and a quick bite. The express window also has dedicated outdoor seating for a short stay. You can get great pastries, including guava pastelitos, and empanadas (mostly baked), but also things like chicharron and a Spanish omelette (giant potato and onion omelette) that you can get a triangular slice of. I love the coffee here. They give you a Cortadito that is double the size that most places give you, but also really great. You can get alternative milks and artificial sweetener if you prefer. They're very accommodating. The staff is also supper friendly.

Beautiful Cuban restaurant with inside and outdoor sitting Service is super nice and accommodating. They have all of the Cuban food you like. They even have the coffee window to order quick. The food is delicious and made to order. Their bread is warm and with some special parm toppings to have while you wait for your food. But don't forget to order the chip plantains with garlic sauce and a few warm croquettes. A perfect place to enjoy any meal during anytime of the day.

NO INTEGRITY WHEN PACKING UBER EATS, SECURE YO BAGS!!!!
Nina M.

SECURE YOUR TO-GO ORDER BAGS!!!!! Your weak plastic bags are easily opened by Uber drivers and are delivered UNSECURED!!! Other places have paper bags STAPLED or A FRESHNESS STICKER to preserve integrity. Change the way you allow random delivery drivers to take your food out of your restaurant. The lack of common sense is baffling.

Visited Sergio's because it's one of the most highly recommended spots for Cuban food and I can honestly say it was just okay. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and has indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day out so we opted for patio seating. Our server was very nice. My partner and I ordered the croquetas, masas de puerco, lechón asado with congrís, plantains, and yuca en mojo. The food temperature was lukewarm to cold which was not enjoyable. The croquetas were ham and chorizo but they were pretty soggy like they had been sitting. The food did not live up to the hype; it was pretty forgettable and the flavors were unfortunately not there. Hopefully it was just an off day but I'm not sure if I would return as there are much better options around.

Stopped by quickly to Sergio's to buy a juice and a pastry. By the time I got there, it was already late and they had no pastries left. I ended up getting a banana walnut pound cake slice, which was okay. Could have definitely used a little more walnuts in it. The service was fine and the ambiance was too. I didn't really get to experience it much.

I have never npoticed this Cuban restauarant before. Any road I came todayt. They have a car park adajacent which is always a winwin. Serive was friendly, corteous and on poiunt. They also had a "staff Robot", nice to see for the novelty factor. I tried the following - Mojito - it was good and hit the spot. Croquettes - not a fan, as they were mushy and soggy and not interesting at all for me. Main, pork with a side of potatoe salad and also a Caesar salad. All average for Cuban fayre. I am married to a Cuban, so I frequent many a Cuban spot. The food here was decent , but was lack lustre for me. Dessert - their rice pudding, again ok but nothing to get in a tizz about.

I have not been to Sergio's in over a year. We decided to go for a family dinner. We absolutely love the renovation. They have a large welcoming outside seating area that draws you in. They still have window service for coffee or a quick pickup. We were greeted then seated promptly. Our server, Eduardo was extremely helpful and friendly. He welcomed us and recommended some delicious options. We drink a lot of water and he ensured that our glasses were never empty. I ordered the flattened chicken (pollo a la plancha) which was delicious with mixed vegetables and riced cauliflower. My daughter had the churrasco steak medium with rice and beans and her father had the chicken milanesa with papas (mashed potatoes). We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. They ordered dessert and I had a delicious Expresso. I highly recommend Sergio's for authentic Cuban food and exceptional service. Thank you Eduardo! Gracias

My boyfriend and I enjoyed delicious beef empanadas, ham and cheese croquetas, and cortaditos on the patio at Sergio's and highly recommend! Our food was excellent and delivered from the ventanita quickly by friendly staff. We didn't go inside but I loved the patio, with beautiful trees and enjoyable music outside. A great spot for any event!

There was literally dirt/mud at the bottom and I took my first bite and it felt like biting into sand. Upon spitting the food out onto my plate it was black sludge. Literally my tongue and teeth were black. The waiter came by and grabbed the plate when I was in the bathroom. I spent about 10 minutes trying to get that BLACK SLUDGE out of my mouth. When I was spitting out the dirt/mud wife noticed the bus boys laughing at me and there was not a manger in sight. When I asked for a manager he did not even respond. No apology or anything just a look of confusion. Worst experience in a restaurant in my life and I love to eat and have been to many types of restaurant big and small. Cheap and expensive and this one takes the cake. We were so bummed as I see thousands of great reviews. But if there was a zero I would have given zero stars the way they handled the situation. If you eat there in the future make sure to check for DIRT/MUD.

Five of us ordered: 5 Cafecitos 1 Pan con Lechon 3 Pan con Bistec 1 Coladita 1 Timba Came out to $107.45 including a $10 tip. We already had a memorable Cubano sandwich so we explored other options. The Lechon was by far the crowd favorite flavor wise, but it is heavier with the pork fat. The garlic sauce is a must to help cut through the richness. We left supremely happy with the salty and garlicky fat flavors lingering on our tastebuds, rejuvenated by a quick shot of velvety espresso, and capped off with the sweet guava and tangy queso crema shake (La Timba). This location is nestled in a food court style area, with a few restaurants offering sit down table service as well. And when I say offering, the sales tactics are reminiscent of timeshare sales zombies standing in an idle state until you mistakenly stop for a BEAT and then it's game on for them. Luckily at Sanguich, they have a few dedicated seats and tables for themselves and they'll come drop your order for you. A little bit of a scavenger hunt to find it, but well worth the adventure. We ordered a ton, and right off the bat: if you love croquetas and empanadas, order extra. They're on the smaller side and come individually, but they are so good they disappear fast. The beef empanadas were a 10/10 perfectly seasoned and crispy. The chicken empanadas didn't hit the same for me, but the jamón croquetas? Absolutely insane. A must. For appetizers, the prawns al ajillo were delicious super flavorful and cooked perfectly. We also tried the grilled octopus, which was good, but not my favorite. It leaned a bit bland for my taste, even with the sauce. Now, the must-get: the carnitas with pickled onions. Easily one of the best dishes of the night so flavorful, tender, and perfectly balanced. For entrées, we had the ribeye steak and arroz con pollo, plus sides of tostones and yuca. Everything here delivered. The steak was cooked perfectly and seasoned just right not overly salty. The arroz con pollo was phenomenal, the kind of dish you could eat every single day. The tostones were crispy and tossed in garlic, which took the flavor to another level, and the yuca was melt-in-your-mouth good. I also ordered a mojito, which unfortunately was very watered down, I barely got any of that classic mojito flavor. Service overall was solid, especially considering how loud the restaurant gets it was honestly hard to hear each other at the table, so shoutout to our server for keeping everything straight. The appetizers came out quickly, back-to-back, which we loved. The only downside was the wait for the entrées they took quite a while after we finished the apps, even though we ordered everything at once. Overall, amazing food, great energy, and definitely worth going just be prepared for a lively (and loud) atmosphere.
