I've been craving some elotes for some reason so when it was time to be take care of on my night before my day off it was Serg's at Midtown Eats and why the heck not with free parking and lots of seating at this bougie food court in the midst of Ke'eaumoku it was a easy transition from work mode. Though just the elotes wouldn't be enough and decided with a Taco Salad which comes in a huge edible bowl topped with the usual lettuce, beans, guacamole, pico, queso fresco and decided with shredded beef was a nice and hearty bite which is served with their cilantro dressing it was a creamy and perfect accent though their salsa was very nice and perfect as well it was a great choice though their salsa elote was my cherry on top as the chili lime seasonings on it was so good not a single piece of kernel was left at all. The Midtown Eats location has exactly the same menu as the original Manoa location; same taste and same friendly efficient service with the addition of lots of free parking and air conditioning. You park in the building, and you don't even need validation (I assume that will change in the future). The food is amazing, everything came out hot and fresh. We had the enchiladas with shredded beef and fajitas salad with steak. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are huge; I couldn't finish my enchiladas plate. The entire food hall is credit card only. There are many other eateries in the food hall, but somehow I always ended up eating at Serg's. We went with the taco salad with chicken $15.95 and a deep fried Twinkie $3.75. The taco salad came in a crispy flour shell, filled with black beans, lettuce, pico de gallo, sour cream, queso fresco, guacamole and cilantro dressing. Two thumbs up for the taco salad. I was loving that cilantro dressing. You also can't go wrong with the fried Twinkie. It was hot and crispy right out of the fryer sprinkled with powdered sugar. I decided to go here since my friend recommended their "DA CUZN" deep fried cali burrito. I don't think he remembered that I came from Southern California though, and therefore their burrito just wasn't up to standard. The fries in the burrito was soggy, and I wished there was more guacamole. The al pastor didn't have the seasoning kick either and seemed bland. If you like Serg's Manoa location, their new location is the same, but different. The carnitas flauta, rice, and beans were exactly how I remember them. The cashier even told me the door code for the women's restroom (6688*). I enjoyed the freshly grilled Fish Taco, horchata (non-dairy drink), and elote (corn). I love this new location, as Serg's inside of the food court appears to be much cleaner than the original Manoa location. Same menu offerings with many delicious items, but as a creature of habit, I went straight for the burrito. Chicken burrito of course, as my burrito was loaded with grilled chicken, pico de gallo, & guacamole. Throw some hot sauce on da burrito, and ya got sustenance city baby!!!! Enchiladas (shredded chicken), a friends dish, he ate one bite of a dry enchilada, one soggy chip, but all of the rice saying it was actually good before discarding the rest. The fried burrito, a first! A cottage pie (a shepherd's pie with beef) with plenty of small chunks of beef and fat, mashed potato, a smear of guac, the smallest amount of salsa as veg, and lots of cheese). It's not Mexican but it was oddly addicting albeit different. Very easy kiosk ordering with a logical UI. Intuitive sub menus with all available customization for each dish easily understandable. Fulfillment within 20 minutes despite people ordering directly from the business instead of the kiosk. OK counter service. Be sure to grab utensils, salsa, hot sauce, etc before leaving. We ordered the chicken enchiladas and steak special burrito, both of which were served with beans and rice. Service was excellent - staff very helpful and pleasant, even as it got increasingly busy during the lunch rush. With our palates satisfied, we vowed to return. On our return visit, we ordered Fish ala Veracruz and Ralph's Fish Burrito (choice of breaded or grilled fish). Was nice to see Bruddah Fran dining nearby! New Serg's Kitchen location in Midtown Eats. It's located midway inside the new food court. Street level access which is located on the ground floor of The Park on Keeaumoku. I was recommended by its employee to try the Birria smoked meat taco. Freshly made to order. It was a big hit with me! A burst of smoked Birria meat and savory flavors explode into a perfect and delicious taco extraordinaire! Mind you, I don't enjoy onions in general, but this was sweet sautéed onions, the shredded smoked Birria meat, guacamole, and cilantro on a cheese covered crispy tortilla! A squeeze of lemon on top and you have a fiesta of flavors. This is a must try, but please try it hot and fresh off the grill! 5/5 stars. Side note: As I entered the food court, I was greeted by Yelp buddy Li Y. She was sweet enough to share a taste of the Nopales from Serg's. This is a side dish that is made with pickled onions, cactus, cilantro, and feta (?) cheese sprinkled on top. You need to enjoy pickled vegetables for this side dish. It's strongly flavored and not for the faint of heart. For myself, this was a 3/5 star rating. Disclosure, I'm not a pickled vegetable fan so this is good lol. Street parking and building parking available at The Park, however, I didn't notice any validation offered by the food vendors. One foodie enthusiast that I met there today, 01/09/26 said to us that the security guard informed him that there was no parking charge right now. Currently open and serving from a full menu, one can enjoy taco salads, burritos, tacos, even their popular flautas. I was thrilled that today they also had their often sold out nopales. Enjoyed this side which is mainly cactus seasoned with white onions, cilantro, cheese... this dish definitely has a kick to it! Served cold, it complimented well the burger which I purchased from another vendor. Also enjoyed a sample of their horchata. While it was a bit too sweet for me, it was a nice touch to their soft opening. Staff was friendly yet efficient which was a good thing because it seemed there was a constant line. They mentioned that they are planning to have happy hour as well as taco Tuesday discounts but not sure when that will actually start. They are currently in their soft opening phase with the grand opening scheduled for Jan 15, a week from now. Parking lot entrance to the Park is located on Liona and Rycroft streets. Noticed the gate is currently open on Liona Street with free in and out privileges. Once the gate is closed, parking will be free for the first half hour and, with validation for two hours. Love the easy access and free and easy parking. Spaces are large and plentiful. Just be sure to read tbe signs as some of the spaces are restricted. I'm a huge fan of serg's and used to really enjoy going to their Manoa location! I'm sooo happy they opened one in town & will definitely be eating a lot more serg's now lol. My usual order is the birria quesadilla, or a burrito (their portions are the best & shareable!!) I happened to come on taco Tuesday & got to try an assortment of their street tacos. Honestly not my favorite item from them, but maybe I'm just not a taco person. We tried the asada, chorizo, verde, and carnitas tacos. My fav was the chorizo & verde, just because they were a bit more moist & flavorful. The rest were okay only, not sure if it's because this was the first taco Tuesday at a new location? The salsas were soooo good though. Definitely try their verde salsa. The employees were so kind & there's ample seating in the gorgeous food hall. Ordered the chicken taco salad and it came out fast, loaded, and way more satisfying than the usual sad mall-salad situation. Big crispy shell, plenty of seasoned chicken, fresh lettuce, cheese, beans, and salsa, with enough crema to tie it together without turning everything soggy halfway through. Portion leans generous, so it works as a full meal, not just a "light bite." Service is friendly, and food came out in under 10 minutes even with the soft-opening crowds at Midtown. Wanted to give this place a month to iron out the kinks so away we went this Tuesday for Taco Tuesday. What??? Taco Tuesday here is only at 4pm!! What Mexican place advertises Taco Tuesday without putting down the limited hours? So we ordered an enchilada plate. It came out ----COLD. the enchiladas were lukewarm, but the refritos and rice were cold. We took it back to the counter and asked that they zap it for a minute and they have no microwave! So we ate it cold and colder. Wasn't bad, but definitely would have been better hot, like piping hot, like sizzling hot. Didn't care for the red sauce, the green was better. Hope they can get their temperatures hotter. AND they should advertise their limited TACO TUESDAY hours better. read more

Very blasé attitude. didn't get my order accurate (I asked for my burrito to include sour cream and guacamole, it did not. I paid for it. Don't know if it was her fault or the chef but, I shouldn't have to ask for something I paid for. Also, I just think the quality and flavor overall of the Manoa location is much better. First of all I would like to say we, my wife and I, know Mexican food. She was born and raised in Mexico and I spent 24 years living in the border city of El Paso, Texas and I spent many of those years hanging out in Mexico. Never have we gone to a Mexican restaurant far from the border, and Hawaii might be as far as you can get from the border and still be in the U.S., and felt we got really good, authentic Mexican food. That changed today. We took a risk thinking we would be disappointed as usual but said the heck with it, we'd order Mexican food in Hawaii. We were both blown away by our plates. I had the Chicken Enchilada plate and it was spot on delicious, the enchiladas themselves, the beans and the rice. It tasted like any of those items I would have gotten in a Mexican restaurant in Mexico! My wife ordered the Carne Asada plate and she said the Carne Asada was outstanding and the Mexican rice delicious. Now I can't speak to the rest of the menu but we would not hesitate to recommend this spot for some authentic Mexican food. Finally I'd like to say that the serving size was much bigger than expected, honestly a great value for the money, they don't skimp on the food. We were stuffed when we walked out the door. We had thought to stop for some dessert on the way home but nixed that idea, no room. Kudos to the owners and staff for really bringing true Mexican flavors to Hawaii! read more

I was so looking forward to eating a shrimp burrito. They used micro mini shrimps and there were barely any in the burrito. It is not worth the price and it was very salty as well. I did not try anything else but do not recommend the shrimp burrito. read more

What I received looked like day old lettuce, odd shaped pieces of discarded fish (with black parts left on) and a soggy tortilla shell. Looked unappetizing. Took a few bites and then tossed it. Wife and I went here for the 1st time on a Sunday at 11 am. For some reason the kiosks were not working, so had to order at the counter. Ordered the Civeche Salad ($17 plus $2 tip) take out but ate there, and they had just enough for 1 order, which makes me think the seafood civeche wasn't prepped for the day and was left over from the previous day. They also didn't have any pico de gallo, which I said was fine but made me think, "it's 11 am, didn't you just open?" Well maybe I shouldn't have ordered it. Ended up being seafood civeche on cut lettuce, in a soggy "crispy" tortilla shell. Maybe it would have been better with the pico de gallo, but it was pretty unappetizing. My wife just ate some of the civeche and threw the rest away. I've seen some mixed reviews, but thought it's easy to write bad reviews. Well, now I know better. I will try something else from here to give Serg's a second chance as maybe it was just a bad day, but I won't be ordering the Ceviche Salad again. BTW, walking out after eating (also bought from Ms. Nguyen and King Thai), we saw another table that had food from Serg's and it looked like they had a taco salad with pico de gallo on it.
