I will have to say I have been going there for years. And the last time was awful. The lady said to pick a color. Which I did. Then she told me I couldn't choose that color. And came over with other colors. I told her I wanted the light purple. She told me I couldn't choose that one. I Just chose one anyways. And it was the most crappiest color. The polish was bad. But she proceeded to use it. She missed half my nail on all nails. And then I got the lavender massage ( offered by the owner ) which I was alllll excited for. But the lady who did it half assed it. Gave my right leg and right arm a wicked good massage. (Minutes) and my left side maybe got a good 20-30seconds. I will go back because I love the place. I'm so happy I found serenity nails! The service is unbeatable, and the pricing is far more fair than some other options in town. They accept walk ins and reservations. Tan is super skilled at making some really elaborate designs. I go for a more basic style because I'm hard on my hands, but I'm always so impressed how well they hold up. When I was going to another salon in town, I was having nails pop off and break all the time. When I would go they would ask if I went there for the manicure in the first place. After being a customer for months and months I was so upset when the owner continued to lie to me several times about overbooking and that no one was available to do my nails when I made an appointment. I was on my lunch hour and was asked to wait over an hour before being told no one could take me. They only want only money and don't care about their customers. I just wanted to start of by saying the staff at this location are very sweet and nice but they did a really bad job with my nails. They didn't cut cuticles properly or shape the nail to my desire which I requested square. I got both a pedicure and gel manicure. Poor service: because while I was getting my nails done the woman was texting and making phone calls with her cell phone one speaker. This was the worst nail experience I have ever had. Maria cut into the skin beyond my cuticles, causing 4 of them to bleed, and did not stop when I complained of pain. She then blamed this on my "dark skin", which does not make sense as it is even easier to distinguish between my cuticle and my skin as they are more contrasted than in people will lighter skin. Regardless, any nail tech should be able to do nails on people of any color, and not blame their skin color for a job badly done. She then proceeded to put acetone and use a nail file right on the area that was bleeding, causing a lot of pain, as well as push and pull the skin that she had cut throughout the process. The polish itself was not well done, is uneven and contains a hair in it. She said she could do nail art that came out looking not much like a flower but more like a blob. Any time I had a preference, she seemed irritated by it and questioned it. My nail beds are currently burning 2 hours later, and I am about to go buy Neosporin as I am sure that given how much she touched the open wounds with her hands and the used nail file, there is a high chance of infection. I wish I could give this experience 0 stars. read more

I'm very dissatisfied with my experience at serenity. The first thing that bothered me was that the tools they used for my manicure were used on other clients and not cleaned well afterwords. Secondly, the woman didn't do the final step of the gel process, so I left the salon with tacky nails. They were sticky to the touch. Lastly, my nails began to chip just days after being done. My appointment was on Sunday- and by Tuesday they were chipping. Gels are suppose to last 2 weeks and I am very disappointed that they didn't even make it a few days. I will not be returning and I warn other customers of this before going to serenity to avoid paying for a bad experience. read more

I have been going to Serenity Nails for almost a year now and I have never been disappointed. Anna is always friendly, always takes her time, and I have always ended up with a beautiful dip manicure that lasts 3-4 weeks. The salon is very relaxing, with just the right amount of lighting and soothing music playing quietly in the background. The only negative I will say is that the manicure is not a "true manicure", meaning there is no soaking of the nails and cutting of the cuticles before the actual nail dip process begins. I understand that it takes time to remove the previous application, but more attention could be paid to the nail preparation. Overall, I really like Serenity Nails. I travel 30 minutes to get there, so I obviously am pleased with the quality and service I receive from Anna, and I have recommended her to others. read more

This place is very concerning for 3 reasons--1) sanitation: the employee used nail tools without cleaning and I had to ask to clean with alcohol first. And there is no autoclave machine visible or employee does not even attempt to open a clean sanitized bag of tools 2) I am all for title 7 and equal opportunity. But when a employee actually torn skin part and when customer complained, she could not speak English and could not understand the employees complaint. It took 3 employees to finally gather and try to sort out a concern. 3) when gel manicure got smeared on skin, instead of attempting to use a solution to erase, one employees proceeds to remove the skin layer which then became very painful. This place needs to be investigated for sanitation. read more

I have walked in before without notice (pretty much screwed up their schedule that day) and they still acted like it was no big deal and took me anyway. Then they did a wonderful job on my nails! I usually go to Gil but honestly they are all great there. Also, they are one of the few places in the area that does dip nails (which last forever). Pleasurable and professional. I have had a MANI/PEDI two times now with KIM- a lovely woman who loves what she does and does it well! I felt like I was her only priority. The Pedicures were OUT OF THIS WOLRD- and I have had a lot of pedicures in my day. Was up sold from a gel manicure to a dip powder mani, which was fine with me. However there was no manicure, no soaking or cuticle trims to be found. Nothing. Just poorly shaped nails and lumpy dip powder application. The powder is also speckled which was not how it was supposed to turn out. I could have done a better job at home. Ideally, I would give this salon 3.5 stars. It's accessible to where I live. The salon atmosphere is pleasant, as well as the people. However, I had to wait about 30 minutes when I arrived on time for my appointment. There was also some miscommunication when it comes to the services provided. I had trouble understanding their accents, but that is something I can compensate for. Some manicurists were not born in the United States, never the less, we appreciate you! I asked for a swirl-nail design using two colors. I showed my manicurist a Pinterest photo, and I was told there would be no problem. What followed was an extended appointment full of confusion. First, they have a limited color spectrum that did not fit my request. The color options were bright and opaque, not the thicker gel polish. Two manicurists struggled for about 45 minutes to figure out the right technique. It was stressful and lengthy waiting, as they redid their work over and over. Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with the technique or colors of my nails in the end result. The price point seemed okay, nothing concerning. In summary, the other services seemed straightforward. The manager did my mani/ pedi in one color and my toes in another because she did not have the right colors to match (??). I am open to changing colors. However, my toes were a bright color and my nails a subtle shade color. As I was on my way to a family occasion, I wanted to match. I did NOT have time before traveling to go back to get this remedied. I went to my event but wore closed toed shoes. Originally, Tan said come back if I have any problems. After my event, I did call. Tan insisted I return to Serenity to have my nails fixed. Tan was out at the time I came by. Another woman did my nails. Another hour out of my already busy schedule. Then, I realized I needed to take out my Google translator app ... need I say more ... ? The woman messed up the pedi and redid the big toe three times. I had to go back a third time so Tan could fix my toes entirely. Not a great job after that either. I will not return. Maria is the best but she was away so I ended up with Tan and Christina. Sorry, but between three visits, and up to 6 hours in total and the need to use Google translator as they talked about me in another language, let me know how they really felt about me returning to the salon for a redo. It is a very relaxing atmosphere and is a great way to de-stress. I usually get a gel manicure and a spa pedicure and they always do a great job (and they last for a few weeks)! Do not go to serenity if you look under 30. They will treat you like crap, rush through your nails and make your nails look like a 2 year old did them. They re use the plastic gloves you wear to soak off the gel or dip... GROSS. they just make you feel like you are an inconvenience. I am never going back this place. read more

I walked into this nail salon for the first time today. The sign on their door said, "Walk-ins welcome". The owner came up to me and said it will be fifteen minutes for your manicure. Fine, I replied. I will be back. Ten minutes later I returned and "Amy" invited me to select my color and sat me at her table. Within a minute or two she returned to give me a manicure. Amy is lovely and has the potential of doing a really nice job. Instead, and under the constant watch of the owner (yes, this was SO obvious), the poor girl rushed through my manicure. Toward the end of my manicure the owner came over and placed a biz card on the table and said, "You make appointment"! Okay. Then take the sign down on your door that says "Walk-ins Welcome".
