Had a great experience at Polished especially on short notice. I had asked the receptionist to notify the Nail tech that my hands were covered in little cuts and scrapes from winter. And the Nail technician was so gentle and aware of my mail sensitivity. I asked for a square round but had a picture of what I wanted and she certainly delivered with even better results. Took my niece & daughter for mani/pedis. My niece's experience was fine, my daughters (15) however was not. The nail tech, Linda, was rude & dismissive. When my daughter asked for a nail to be filed down even to another, Linda rolled her eyes and made a comment under her breath. She made snide comments throughout & pushed back on any request my daughter had. She did not use the scrub during her pedicure, and skipped the massage as well. Not wanting to make a scene, my daughter didn't tell me any of this until we left. I called to let the owner know what happened & the response was "we don't do that here" she did finally apologize after it was reiterated that they did speak that way to a young girl, who pays the same amount as a adult & also tipped $20 for condescending, sub par service. I absolutely love Polished in Northborough. Most gel manicurists have really decreased the quality of their products and gels last one, maybe two, weeks. At Polished my gel always lasts at least two weeks. Although my favorite is Linda, I would say all the staffers are great! I often just book with whoever because they are all really good at their job. Added bonus, they always play the best shows and movies - Modern Family, Great British Baking Show, Hunger Games. My only suggested improvement would be for them to display gels and regular polish together. When I do regular pedi and gel mani it's hard to see the colors together. read more

I had a great experience here. A girl named Linda did my nails one day after a stressful day at work. It was almost 7:00--their closing time--and I still got a great manicure. It only cost $12, too. My coworker actually asked if they were gel (which they're not) because they're so hard and shiny looking. Besides a few tiny bubbles which I don't mind, they're perfectly done. The tools were sterilized as well. I'll be back the next time I'm in need of a manicure. Lost a star because it's not the best location or ambiance. But that's not the employees' fault. For a cheap $12 manicure I'm more concerned with how my nails look than how "fancy" the place feels. I hope you have as good of an experience as I did! read more

This is my absolute favorite place to get my nails done. The girls are always willing to put up with my crazy requests (a girl loves to find pictures on pinterest) and they come out fabulous. There were clippings and dust all over the station I was seated at and the one next to me, where no one was sitting. I can't even begin to mention how upset I am with my experience at Polished. I frequent Northboro as my family still lives here, so this isn't my regular salon but I couldn't hold back comments for anyone else's sake who just needs a quick mani- go to L&T down the street!! So I came with my sister (who I should mention, loves Polished) on a Tuesday evening. We walk in and most ladies are at the pedicure station and one woman greets my sister but says nothing to me. Another woman instructs me to sit and starts to do my nails-- not sure where the tools came from, grosses me out. Again, no greeting, I was doing all the talking then realized she probably isn't interested in talking so I stopped. She doesn't soak my nails at all. I had a cut on the cuticle of my thumb and she put the stinging stuff on and then left it- didn't bother to try to clean up my cuticle. She filed quickly, buffered then maybe got 3 or 4 of my cuticles, used a brush to get off the excess "dust" did not instruct me to wash my hands, did not use the "bond" you put on before the base coat for a gel manicure-- mind you, I get a gel manicure every 2 weeks (my treat to myself!) I think I know the drill. They didn't even start my sisters nail and I was done in 10 mins. 10 mins for a gel manicure. Then, I'm sitting with my sister and looking at my nails-- there's skin all around my nails like the little flakes they're supposed to get off, my cuticles are in shambles, legit half of my nail was not polished, AND to take the cake, the stuff she put on my cut caused it to bleed and there is dried blood all over my nail and under the polish. I've literally never had a worse manicure. It's not like me to complain, but I said something to the woman doing my sisters nails and she said "oh it must just be the light or your eyes." Are you serious? I didn't even wait for my sister to be done and left- and upon leaving no one said "bye" "thank you" nothing. Just flat out rude. I will not be returning and not recommending this salon to anyone. read more

I live near this salon and stopped in, out of convenience, to have Gel polish removed and to have a new manicure done. This was my first experience with them. My nails were a perfect length and were shaped nicely when I walked in. The person who removed the gel, hurt my nail by scraping off the gel. She left several dents in the nail. She also asked if I wanted my nails "clipped". They were not long, as I stated above. I said, "NO", I don't want my nails clipped. She didn't clip, but then proceeded to file them down to the base of my finger before I realized what she was doing. She did a shoddy job of polishing them, not before cutting my cuticles too much. Two days later, I have no nails to speak of and have already removed the polish that she so horribly applied. My fingers are sore. She appeared mean. Didn't get her name. read more

When I went today my manicurist was on her phone the whole time, gave me judgemental looks for getting acrylics and for getting them short not long, then when I asked her politely to make sure that the polish covered my whole nail on both sides of my nail so you couldn't see any nail at all she said that it looked better the way she was doing it and did it the way she wanted it to be done. In the end I also ended up with a nail that has a lump on it. Not happy at all. read more

Each time I go to Polished I have a relaxing experience and get a great manicure and pedicure. The nail technicians take their time with you and really focus on doing a great job and not rushing through their work to move on to the next customer. Polished uses great products, which makes a difference. They sterilize everything. Each time they work on you they open up a sterilized, sealed package of tools. My sister and I came into the Salon on a Wednesday evening close to closing time. We did not have an appointment, my sister wanted to get a full set done for Prom and I wanted to get a pedicure. We were more than welcomed and everyone was very happy to help us. The girls were very kind and super easy to talk to. I would definitely go back for another visit. I'd be there as often as possible if the salon was closer to my home! I went in for a mani&pedi. My manacurist was sweet however the foot scrub she used she picked up out of a draw full of crap and there was cottonballs stuck to it and she used it on my foot where didn't bother cleaning it! And after scrubbing the dead skin off my foot she cleaned the things she used in the same water my feet were soaking in. It was quite gross.. most other places take my feet out before cleaning the tools. My manicure was only slightly better, she was told to hurry up on me because other ppl walked in when I had an appt. It seems like they take their time on only on regulars and could care less about new customers. And the paint looked sloppy, I repainted it the next day. Again she was nice and sweet and that's the only reason I'm giving them even 2 stars. Won't be going back. read more

I went to polished for a gel manicure, the technician brought the tools to the table in a sterilization bag, good start till I noticed the bag had NOT been sterilized (the indicator colors on the bag had not changed color). The atmosphere in the salon was day care, I was there on a Saturday afternoon and one of the staff was watching a baby for another staff member, and then a client brought in a toddler. The children were well behaved but not my idea of relaxing, I noticed that the gel Polish seemed old and thick. This consistency made it necessary for three coats of the polish, thus changing the light shade of pink I had chosen into a dull milky white. My nails look thick and dull. Love Polished! They do an amazing job. I get gel polish put on and they take their time to make sure it is done well and will add sparkle or pretty much any other design if you wanted. From them my gel manicure last pretty much 3 whole weeks without chipping or anything (obviously how you treat your nails during that time also matters). I have had two very bad experiences at this salon. Normally I would not even complain, because I do think this is a tough business and everyone deserves a few mulligans--but both times I went for a mani/pedi I got the same woman, who I now know is the owner. She seems very frustrated and angry. In both instances she took out her anger on my feet--cutting my nails far too short, jamming her pointy fingernail under the sensitive part of your toenails (to remove excess nail polish) and did not make any attempt to massage either my foot or leg. There were other problems with my manicure, but I will chalk that up to lack of ability on my part to communicate what I wanted. I just sense a raw anger towards me, and did I mention I left with my cuticles bleeding on both my toes and two fingers. Do yourself a favor and go to one of the multitude of other nail salons where they are happy to see you come, know how to make their clients feel good and ultimately do a good job of the mani/pedi. Sorry--I hate to ive bad reviews, but in this case I feel it is warranted. read more
