Today was the worst -- we had three scheduled appointments and two of us waited over an HOUR, while people who arrived later were taken before us. First time here. Had to wait long despite getting an appointment. It was so crazy that customers were asked to move seats multiple times. Employees were doing multiple clients at the same time; transferring from client to client. There was no attention to customers; they weren't even talking to us. They were talking Non-Stop in their language (which I don't mind, except that they talked non- stop, without even talking to their clients)! I think they took more customers than they can handle. I still tipped... but come to think of it, maybe I should not have. So they learn that customer service should be good to merit a tip. Not going back! read more

Luxe USED TO BE great, but the past two years their service level has nosedived while their prices have done the opposite. I had naked nails and wanted dip for the summer. I know how busy it is so I made an appointment. When I arrived I was told to pick a color, but the dip vs. Gel colors were not labeled and a complete mess. I waited for 45 MINUTES!!! Then the lady charged me for a manicure even though my nails were naked. She had my nails soaking in that damn dish for sooooo long while she was chatting up the other technicians that my fingers were freezing prunes!! She had a wicked attitude and did an ABSOLUTE HORRENDOUS job. You could visibly see the polish brush streaks and it was like a big bubble of dip powder on my nails, absolutely horrendous. The entire process from appointment to exit was 2.5 hours and $58!!! Ya, no thanks. Get a grip luxe, you have way too much competition around to be acting a fool. SMH read more

This was my second time for a basic manicure, pedicure. My first experience wasn't stellar so I thought I would give it another try. My pedicure person, Nancy, was a nice person and did give me a nice massage and took her time with my feet HOWEVER she cut my cuticles so deep that it was painful and bleeding. Accidents happen and she was polite about it, HOWEVER, another couple came in for their pedi and when the guy got closer to sitting and soaking his foot, there was a nail floating in his water- this really freaked me out as a medical professional since my skin was cut open and good knows if the liner was changed and things sanitizer properly in between clients: TIP: ask to SEE the liner changed prior to service. Midway through my pedi I was rushed into a mani. Imagine trying to relax with a massage while another woman Hovers over you tugging at your hands and not even moving to the other side to get to your other hand but making you sit up in the massage chair to do the farther hand! This person was in much younger and couldn't have rushed the job any faster. My mani was like a 10 min job! The nail color I picked was probably old and so thick, you would think they would do something about it, but no. They put multiple layers of the polish and topped it off with a top coat. I had to personally show them how terrible it looked!!!! This is their job, they should try to do a good job or at least attempt to fix it! The manicure lady didn't even bother, I asked the pedicure lady to fix it and after fixing some of the fingers I was told "it looks different when dried". Anyhow, attaching pics of what my nails looked like on Tuesday after my mani/pedi in Sunday evening. I have 4 kids and I typically get a mani pedi once a month as a treat, can I expect it to last me ATLEAST 5 days? Also, for the love of god, I don't want gel nails, please stop pushing it. I went to get my nails done for my 21st birthday. I just wanted a basic square rounded French full set. The lady did not listen to my requests and even made commentary to my choice of nails. She was doing my set based off of what she wanted and her likes. Both my hands are two different shapes and different lengths of French. I asked her politely to do my cuticles and she responded with "you have no cuticles" when I could clearly see them. She was also laughing at me when I asked for medium size nails but then gave me shorter than what I asked for as well as laughing because I wanted thin French instead of thick. On top of that I tipped but got charged an extra $3 in tip without my knowledge. I completely understand some places may include a 15% tip automatically but not letting the customer know and then receiving another tip is wrong. Another thing, I could tell she didn't exactly know what she was doing and another nail tech was looking and was making a face like she should say something but chose not to. I'm am disappointed and sad about my nails as my birthday is tomorrow. I usually go here and I like the place but I am disappointed at how they act towards you. Only a select few are amazing at the job and actually respectful towards clients. If you want to do acrylics or dip I would ask for someone who specifically knows how to do a good job. My daughter and i had pedicure appointments for 1:00. 3 other woman walked in at the same time. Those three ladies were serviced immediately. My daughter and I waited an hour with our feet soaking before anyone started our pedicures. At that point our feet looked liked prunes and the water was ice cold. This is usually my go to nail salon but after my last visit, I am extremely disappointed and don't think this will be the case any longer. I made an appt online and was waiting twenty minutes to even be seated with no end in sight. Two ladies walked in after me, with appointments 15 minutes after me, and they were seated before me. They were also getting a dip manicure. I have two babies at home and rarely get a chance to go out and do anything self-care related. To wait twenty mins and be told that they didn't know when they'd be able to seat me, especially WITH making an appt, is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I had a visit scheduled for Monday 9/4 that I booked through vagaro. I planned my day around going to this visit to treat myself to a lux pedicure after a long weekend. I got there and they were closed due to the holiday. I reached out to the business to tell them that vagaro let me book the appointment and I went there. They blamed vagaro and stated that they could not do anything to make this right for me on their end. First of all they have a great color selection for dip & gel. Pricing isn't bad either. But as for the nail techs, I heard some were good & some weren't as good. My nail lady was not the best, she used the electric filer and nicked my skin so bad they when I left they were bleeding. I asked for an ombré & I got one, but it looks awful. So personally would never go there for an ombré again. One plus for the place is, if you pay cash they give you a card with a stamp on it & if you go 10 times paying with cash, you're 11th one is 10 dollars off. Getting my nails done here was one of the most uncomfortable hours of my life. My nail technician was extremely unfriendly. I watched her scrape at my toes, then use the same tool to scratch her scalp, then go back to using it on my toes. She gave no instructions, just grunted at me. Very much a mixed bag when it comes to the experience. Some techs are AMAZING (Ben and Steven to name two) however some are just horrible and rush through the work. I have left the salon with both uneven dip polish and bleeding cuticles as well as a beautiful manicure, it just depends on the day which is not ideal. I had to continuously pull my hand away for a manicure when the tech continued to file my nail even she reached the skin and would not stop and was left with a painful cut. Appointments are almost always running behind schedule and they continue to take more walk ins which appointments are still waiting which is frustrating and causes the waiting area and polish selection area to be SO crowded and congested at times. Overall, I would say I recommend here because when it's good, it's great. But it is not a reliable nail salon unfortunately. read more

Boy has this salon gone downhill. They used to be my favorite! My last 2 manicure/pedicures were rushed and my daughter said the same when she went. I don't mind getting in and out as long as quality doesn't suffer. Unfortunately it has. They barely pushed my cuticles down so within a week, there was a gap in the polish. , They didn't want to wait the 30 seconds for the blue light to finish and my nails look brutal after a week. When LuxNails first opened it was amazing. Clean, great service, always great work done. I used to drive out of my way to come here for my nails. Unfortunately they have gone significantly down hill. Horrifying customer service- they are rude, abrasive, unfriendly. An appointment means nothing- you could wait as long as it takes regardless and instead of them being apologetic, it is somehow your fault. I was even turned away for my appointment before. Yet I still went back. I don't expect to have a "friendly" experience when I get my nails done, usually just a quiet one, but I certainly don't expect to be disrespected and spoken to in a condescending, demeaning manner. My cuticles and fingers are all cut up from my most recent manicure. So disappointing. I have visited here at least 50+ times and will never return. So sad! read more

I so wish yelp would allow me write a new review. So this week was my third visit to this place. 1) I made an appointment for 5 pm and was there a couple of minutes before time. I had to wait for my gel nail polish change on my feet for like 30 minutes. All in all feet were done by 6 pm, i do wish she hadn't cut my nails this short, but no biggie. 2) for my acrylic filling i am waiting AGAIN ! Almost 20 something minutes later the tech shows up. I let her know that i want to keep my coffin shape, she goes this isn't a good coffin shape i will charge you 5$ extra for change of shape! I was astonished, first of all this is the only nail salon i have been to that charges extra for change of shape, bear in mind i have been getting acrylics all my life and that too in downtown Boston. So i tell her thats not fair, she can't charge me for change of shape when i am not getting change of shape. After some negotiations she agrees to not charge me. Cherry on top is Number 3 3) i ask her about chrome gel polish and she says its 15$ extra, so TOO EXPENSIVE FOR ME! condescending much? She didn't even get the shape right in the end and when i asked her that I wanted matte top coat she lectured me on how outdated it was! I left the nail at 7 pm!! So even with an appointment a one hour thing will take you atleast 2 hrs! AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!! Going down from 4 stars to one!! I decided to try a dip manicure for the first time and was pleased with how she explained it could either be done on my real nail or an extension could be added with a tip to make my nails all look uniform, since my natural nails were not even. Went when it wasn't busy but told it can be busy so always try for an appointment. Three people do many pedi brow so good to know that they can just stay with me instead of being passed around. Reasonably priced. Super friendly and welcoming. Free wifi to do work if needed. I've continued going to Lux and seeing Lily. She's was not waver to make it into today, so saw Stephanie. ‼NON-STERILE‼ Let's start with that. I worked in a dental office for 7 years and part of my job was sterilizing instruments. The bags that Lux uses are the proper ones for autoclave sterilization. However, they are not sterilizing the instruments. When a pouch is first filled the colors on it are blue and pinkish. After sterilization, they will be a dark yellow color as well as brown. The instruments used on me today were NOT sterilized. This is an extreme health hazard and violation. Especially in a pandemic, you would think sterilization would be a top priority. This is honestly far more important than the fact that my nails have come out absolutely terrible more than once. I got them done today and actually have to go somewhere else to have them redone tonight. Unacceptable. Especially considering I showed her a picture of what I wanted in addition to explaining it. And she still did not do them the way they should've been done. I asked for white with gold sparkles and was up-charged $8 for a "design". Pictures are attached of what the colors should've looked like vs what it actually looked like. The dark yellow gold is horrendous and not even close to what's in the picture. I would not recommend this place to anyone. Don't waste your money. read more

Then I had the shortest massage ever....literally 20 seconds on each leg, while the women who were served before us had 10 minute massages. Overcharged! I got my nails done Thursday and asked for a simple design that lasted for two days. I went back to get it fixed. I explained to the person who asked what I wanted that I just needed to fix it or take off the color. When I sat in the chair I was told what design he would give me.
