This was my daughter's first time having this done and you made them sit there and then they were told you didn't have enough time when you close at 7pm? This salon is very clean but their vent system not working properly and even with front door cracked, the chemical smell is awful. Also the top they use was smelling so strong on my nail for 2 days, not sure what they use. $20 for regular manicure not even a real scrub/massage at that price. Not impressed. read more

I mistakenly went to Serenity nails yesterday to get a full set of white tip acrylics. The man doing the service explained to me that he wasn't using acrylic but instead was using a "gel powder" that is "better for your nails" and "lighter". I told him that I'd never heard of gel powder and he acted surprised and said that this product has been around since the late 80's early 90's. What he didn't know about me is that I was a licensed nail tech during the early 90's onward. While I'm no longer practicing the trade, I thought maybe I just didn't know about this "gel powder". So ignoring my gut, I stayed and allowed him to continue the service. He proceeded to apply the product (what I now suspect to be the non FDA approved MMA acrylic product) to my nails. When the product hardened, he used his dirty long thumb nail to pry the sloppily applied acrylic from between my nail and skin. Was repulsive. There are orange wood sticks for that!! I'm absolutely embarrassed to admit that as a former nail tech, I sat there saying nothing. Stunned and tongue tied. Looking back, I should have run straight for the door. After reflecting on this experience, I decided to write this chilling review and call the state board of cosmetology and report this salon in the hopes that an inspector will visit the location. I have no idea if the nail files (manual or drill bits) had been sanitized, if he had even washed his hands prior to the service, if the manicure table had been properly cleaned, if the workers are even licensed or if he used an illegal product on my hands. What I do know now however is that this man lied to my face about the product "gel powder" of which there is no such thing. Please please please, if you are going to spend the time and money on getting your nails done, don't go to Serenity Nails or any other salon that can't or won't show you the brand of product they are using. It could be dangerous. Do a quick search on MMA nails if this isn't something you are familiar with and educate yourself. I'm a licensed nail tech and even I found myself in this situation. Pretty humbling. Ouch. read more

The service I got was reasonable. The people were nice. I've had better manacures, but it wasn't as bad as some of the photos I've seen of their customers. The problem came when I attempted to use a gift certificate. It was old and they denied it. Here's the thing, it's not a coupon, someone gave them their hard earned money with the promise that they would in turn give a service and they refused. DO NOT buy your loved ones gift certificates here and give them the opportunity to steal your money. read more

I have had 3 bad experiences! I don't like to make snap judgments. First I saw a woman who cut my toe nail so short it made the nail grow into the skin and was very painful. That woman was let go I learned when I went back several months later. Then I saw a young guy. He grumpled to my face about my tip and hugged me putting his hand close to my rear. No one did anything about it. I stayed away until last night when I was juggling too many things and wanted my nails taken care of real quick before grabbing chinese for my family. The OWNER of the place filed my nails down to the point where I have no white left on my left hand and hardly any left on my right hand. My nails were past my finger tips when I went in! I told him I didn't want them short. He didn't listen and didn't care. I learned that the young guy was let go and the owner went on and on about how unhappy he was with the guy and then made me repeat verbally to his wife what happened with the young guy. I was extremely uncomfortable. The owner just said "sorry" and had me pay so I could leave. Bad business sense. Bad hiring skills. Bad nail technique. The only thing good about this place is the way it looks and location to my house. Very unhappy! read more
