My experience with the manager, who became upset over being called a derogatory term after frustration was had by my partner not being heard, led to an utterly unprofessional response from the company. The situation escalated when, without prior notice, Unannounced and (Trespassing) two men were sent to my property after the conversation was had. Now Note: If she felt SO offended. PROTOCOL WOULD BE to call us back and let him know he has Offended the company & With paperwork in hand end the agreement properly. INSTEAD I awoke to this nonsense. When confronted about their purpose in being on my property unannounced, they remained silent and failed to provide any documentation to justify their presence. Instead, their only response was a thinly veiled admonition for my partners alleged rudeness to the manager. This behavior is unacceptable and completely unwarranted. So because she had hurt feelings, she decided she SURE was going to show us. And yes, it's family owned. So me being from Los Angeles. I couldn't believe A little back and forth resulted in being able to take such a stance. Prob why so many bad reviews. Furthermore, the communication from SEQUOIA GAS CO regarding their services was sorely lacking. Despite their claim of offering old paperwork I FEEL AN INJUSTICE HAS TAKEN PLACE as they sneakily loaded My tank on to their truck with no flexible negotiation of reasoning, the reality was far from it. So we blocked their truck with our car. MY FATHER IS A SHERIFF IN LOS ANGELES im upset because of how UNETHICAL this has been . IF POLICE IN HUMBOLDT WERE USEFUL THEY COULD HAVE BEEN STOPPED. And for this, I've sought legal counsel:)) Instead of addressing the issue with clarity and professionalism, they stuck rigidly to a script that made little sense given my circumstances of not being a regular refill. Last call being made (2022) A SIMPLE explanation of the on/off-scheduled deliveries or a suggestion to wait for the next scheduled visit would have sufficed Because we know it's $100 for them to drive from arcata to Trinidad in gas. Instead, their inability to adapt to the situation only exacerbated the frustration. The Tank is in fact in another family member who lives on the properties name. Companies like AMERIGAS have representatives who handle criticism with grace and understanding, making the entire customer experience a positive one. I had 3 tanks worked on in December . Recertify , new valves and filled for $315 or so. I came back to do my other 3 tanks along with a friends tank . Now his tank was a for his camper . It was old and they wouldn't work on it . They said just buy a new one . Now my friend was very upset and wrote a bad review . When I went to p/u my tanks they charged me over $430.- ever though I only had 2 valves replaced , but had all 3 recertified and filled . RIP OFF DON'T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE . Please save yourself from the attitude of the employees there in the office . Don't even buy propane . Go elsewhere, anywhere is better than here . read more

20 years with Sequoia gas and they continue to keep their prices reasonable and deliver to our farm asap when we've run out due to not checking our tank level. They brought us a new tank this week w a cellular monitor so we don't have to call them anymore!! They also relit my Vermont Gas Heater and looked out how well it was burning etc. Always professional w a smile. read more

I just moved to a house on Greenwood Hts Dr, Kneeland, CA 95549, which has a 250 gal propane tank that has been there for 30 years, and was used by 2 different households before me, one a home that burned down, the other a mobile home much like the one I'm in now. I have a gas stove in the kitchen, and per my landlord, I contacted first one, then another propane supplier to be told rudely by the first and hung up on by the second, that they only supply propane to households with 3 or more gas appliances, regardless of the number of tenants. WTF. Can someone kindly explain the reasoning, because I cannot see any, nor do I find it at all acceptable!! I buy and pay for x amount of propane, and NOBODY has the right to regulate how many appliances I use, how many times a day, for how long, etc!! What if I had ten gas appliances but only used one once a month, versus, one appliance with a large family, and used it multiple times for hours every day?? How DARE some schmuck propane company, not one, but BOTH of the ones servicing this area, refuse to provide me with their product NOT BASED ON my credit worthiness, not based on distance or location of residence, not based on tank size, not based on method of payment, not based on accessibility of the tank, or vicious pitbull in the yard or weather or availability of propane or condition of the roads or politics or if there was a war or anything like that, but based on how many appliances I have??? That is sooooo wrong, so unacceptable, so stupid and insane and I'm not stopping at telling it to you fine folks, I'm going to make sure everyone everywhere hears about it until it shames these propane companies, Sequoia Gas and Amerigas, into changing their ridiculous policy!!! read more

I'm honored to be the first person to review this business. I bought a brand-new propane tank via Amazon.com, and was under the impression that it would need to be purged of the air in the tank before being initially filled...so instead of going to Chevron as usual, I decided to call and see if purging was available this afternoon, and the cheerful and friendly woman who answered the phone assured me that someone would be there to assist me. I drove down to their location, and parked next to their propane filling station. Just like Les Schwab, an employee came running out just as I exited my vehicle asking if could be of assistance. I told him that I just got a new tank, and that it needed to be purged before filling. He put it on the table, and with a quick check, he told me that the tank was pre-purged, saving me the $5 purging fee. He also explained to me how he came to that determination. My tank was quickly refilled, as their pump seems to operate at a much higher speed than do those at gas stations. I followed him into their office, and didn't have to wait in line. He processed the transaction in a swift and efficient manner, and thanked me for my business. Bottom line. This will be the ONLY place that I will fill my tanks from now on. The speed of service and the efficacy of the employee made a profound impact on me. Thank you so much, Sequoia Gas, and I will definitely recommend and share my story with my BBQ/smoker friends in the area. As we know, sometimes buying propane can be fairly problematic at gas stations, with irregular hours and staffing issues. Not here. These guys are on top of it. read more

I have used Sequoia Gas since I purchased my first propane appliances. They were purchased at different times and installed by the companies I purchased them from. Each time Shane asked me to wait before using them until he could come to make sure they were properly installed. Shane came the same day which was above and beyond as I live north of Trinidad. Dan makes the deliveries in my area and is always prompt and professional. Brittni and the office staff are always pleasant and helpful. Moved to my rental in Feb. 2020 and had my propane tank filled a couple of times by Sequoia gas. After a couple of months, I found a more affordable means of propane, but there was still at least 20% in my Sequoia Tank for reserve. I came home the other day, about 10 months since I last used the tank, to find it had been removed from the property. No phone call or communication whatsoever. I called to request a refund for my 20% that was left in the tank, and was told the tank was picked up because it hadn't been used for several years and that it was empty when they picked it up. The receptionist became very rude and defensive when I corrected her and kept asking me why I wasn't using it if there was propane still in it, as if I was lying. Had I known they were going to remove it without notice, I definitely would have used it all! I will be using a different provider in the future for my propane or gas needs, as Sequoia was very unprofessional and did not offer any solutions for this situation. I recently purchased an old trailer with unknown propane issues. Without hesitation, Sequoia Gas Company helped me address my propane tank valves, set me up with a new regulator and hoses to get them in working order affordably. They even helped investigate, at no charge, why the propane hot water heater was not being used (learned because it was a lost cause!). I still needed the frame to close up the exterior wall and they helped me remove the tank so I could obtain some interior storage space. Thank you Sequoia! read more

I've been a rural gas customer for 10 years and have been satisfied with their service. But today I received a bill that includes a $15 hazmat fee, along with the $60 tank rental. I've probably bought the tank now, but whatever. The hazmat, however, fee seems like they are passing along another fee. If all of their customers are being billed for hazmat they are probably pocketing a tidy sum. read more
