I love sephora, but had a few very terrible experience at this location.
I have run into three different employes who are beyond rude and not very knowledgable.
My first encounter happened in late January.
I came in to find a foundation that would make me look radiant but not too oily and very natural, the makeup artist was a man, I believe called "Jose," something with J.
First of all, he was very awkward and didn't give me any help at all or good recommendations except for the foundations that I had asked to use.
He than proceeded to show me the foundation that I requested and had only put a patch on the left side of my cheek?
Honestly, how is that suppose to help me decided if this is a foundation that I want to spend money on?? As he applied it, he made a face like he didn't like the way it looked.
I then asked him if he would finish my foundation. He looked super annoyed and applied it.
It didn't look radiant or anything that I wanted, so I inquired about highlights, bronzers and blush, he gave me quick Info but refused to try it on my skin.
I was seriously so annoyed that I left and went to Mac, where the employees are beyond friendly and helpful and made me feel more than beautiful.
I'm seriously so sad and upset at that experience that I choose to be careful about the next time I went into this store.
It is now the middle of April and I had to go in again to get color matched for a foundation that I had bought online but was the wrong shade, Estée Lauder double wear .
As I went in and asked for help, the employee at the door, went over to a female with red hair and bangs and asked if she could color match me, I assume she was new. The red haired lady was so rude to her, I was appalled.
She talked to her like a slave. I had come in with my friend and we were both mortified.
The red haired lady with glasses said she would be right with me.
After helping two customers and making me wait, I become unhappy and found some one else to color match me.
He was a large, Hispanic man with facial hair .
My friend had asked him a question and he was so rude and snappy to her, I was shocked once again.
He than went on to help me
With a match and spent about 10 mins trying to find the Estée Lauder shade that I had requested, which I guess they don't sell
In their store.
He made a guess on what color would look good. The color looked way off and he said "oops I made a mistake that was the wrong one,"
Something that wouldn't have been brought up until I said something.
He still didn't tell me my color match, I still do not know as I write this review. Wow what a waste.
Anyway after 10 mins of looking up online he says to me "there is an Estée Lauder in Maceys, I'm sure they can help you"
That seriously made me so uspet, I do not understand why he would not say that in the first place and waste both our time.
Also, I do not understand why he acted like he knew what he was talking about when he clearly didn't.
I was quite upset and left the store immediately with my friend, who also wanted a color match but decided not to get one because of how uneducated and rude the large man was.
I went to Estée Lauder and told them
My predicament, they tried on a different shade, which was perfect and than tried on the shade the large man at Sephora suggested which was way too light.
So how sad, he really didn't know what he was talking about.
I understand people make me mistakes, which IS FINE.
But the fact that three different people were rude and unhelpful and made me leave the store immediately, makes me never want to come back to this location with any questions I have.
Next time I go there it will be to get a product I know works, to get in and out.
I also, never write reviews and understand that people have bad days and what not but if anyone working at this store reads this, please
talk
To your employees about being professional and knowledgeable, because
There is a different between Sephora and walmart.
The three people that I mentioned were so beyond rude it made me feel very unwelcome so that was a big factor me writing this review. read more
