I typically purchase from Lush online, as some of their sales associates can be very in-your-face/space and pushy with the upselling. Friendly customer service is great, but I've often felt overwhelmed and somewhat pressured into buying something-- anything-- at other Lush locations due to how they approach customer service. As a result, I typically rush through the store instead of enjoying what is truly a lovely sensory experience (in terms of scent) instead of browsing and have a list of what I need ready to go before I go into the store because I find the sales experience something I don't vibe with as someone who is a socially awkward introvert. With that said, I found myself at this Lush location with my sister on Christmas Eve and enjoyed my experience. Other Lush locations I've been to have been bigger and had a wider selection of products- e.x. They were out of the Zesty body spray I love so much here, but let me know I could find it online. I appreciated the associates greeting us when we came in and leaving us alone until we came to them with questions. Something as small as that can make all the difference to me in terms of customer experience. I bought more than anticipated because the atmosphere allowed me to relax, explore, and take the products in. They have super cute gift boxes and sets, perfect for gifting to friends- from Christmas to birthdays; they've covered most occasions. Their packaging is aesthetically pleasing, minimal, and very giftable. I appreciate the fact that Lush never tests on animals. Their products are 100% vegetarian and handmade, and they try to participate in ethical buying as much as possible. Of course, this factors into the cost of their goods for the consumer. I'm happy to pay more for quality products that don't hurt animals and try not to destroy the planet. Lush and their products are something you need to experience for yourself firsthand, as things like perfume are so personal, and likes vary substantially from person to person. For what it's worth, I have eczema and sensitive skin, and in the 15 years I've been using their products, I've never had a reaction or flare-up due to their products. I've found that their Celestial moisturizer can help ease the pain and other symptoms of a flare. They use high-quality ingredients without nasty chemicals and additives. The only downside to Lush is they occasionally discontinue some absolute bangers (RIP to my all-time favorite soap-- Rockstar, you were too good for this world, bb. And don't even get me started on the American Cream shower gel!) Some of their products are too perfumy for my taste (*cough* Sex Bomb *cough*), but there's something here for almost everyone. Honey I Washed the Kids, Celestial, Zesty, Vanillary, Sleepy, Dream Cream, Orange, Buffy, Let the Good Times Roll, and Ocean Salt are some of my current favorites and I'm sure the list will expand with my next visit. read more

I'm not someone who usually leaves reviews, but my girlfriend and I were very upset with the customer service and overall experience at this location. We came down from out of town, so this was already a long trip for us. From the moment we entered the store, both associates were heavily staring at us the entire time we shopped, as if we were doing something other than shopping. When my partner asked a couple of questions, the older white woman which I assume was the manager rolled her eyes while responding. At checkout, we decided to return one item, which is something my partner does frequently since she shops here often. During the transaction, my partner mentioned an ongoing glitch in her app regarding a reward. The store was already aware of this issue before she asked, yet the manager responded extremely rudely. This was what truly upset us -- not the situation itself, but the way my partner was spoken to. The manager refused to look at the emails from customer support and bluntly stated that she would not redeem anything because the system showed the reward had already been used. Support suggested placing an online order as a workaround, which isn't ideal due to minimum purchase requirements, shipping issues, and missing items. We understand that coupons are one-time use, but the situation was handled in a very disrespectful manner. To make matters worse, after purchasing well over six items, we reused the bag we brought in for the return. After paying, we realized we didn't have enough space and asked for a small bag. The manager told us it would cost $0.25. My girlfriend understandably became upset and asked if it was really necessary since we weren't asked beforehand if we needed a bag. The manager stated it was California law and refused to provide one unless we paid. Needless to say, we will no longer be visiting this location unless absolutely necessary. My partner is a loyal LUSH customer, considering just how expensive they are this experience truly ruined her love for the company. I generally go to this location since it's closest to me, and everyone is always wonderful. However, my most recent visit is the reason for my review. On 9/5, my partner and I said goodbye to our 19.5 year old cat, and we were not well. The next day, we decided to pick up a few bath bombs to help us over the following days. Nick approached and offered his help, and I struggled to answer his questions without crying. My partner let him know what was going on, and Nick kindly gave us his condolences and some space to pick out something we liked. When we checked out, he gave us a small care package, amazing hugs, and a reminder to be kind to ourselves. What an Amazing experience today with staff member, Alyssa! My daughter loves Lush and since it was her 16th birthday last week we went to the mall for some shopping. All she wanted was Lush! Upon walking in I was immediately impressed with the cleanliness, perfect ambiance and lighting, and all the beautiful colors and scents! The store is clearly laid out and easy to find things. Alyssa went above and beyond for this mama! She helped me find and try a facial scrub, gentle wash, and facial cream! She even offered me a towel! She was very knowledgeable about all of the products and so helpful and attentive to my needs. My face feels like I went and got a $100 facial professionally! She gave me a few samples so I could try at home, and even a mask! My daughter bought a bunch of really awesome bathbombs! I honestly haven't gone to a Lush store I haven't liked. It's almost as if all their employees are blessed with fairy dust and have the gift of barely convincing you to buy all their soaps, scrubs, and creams. I won't say how much damage I've done, but their products have this way of enticing you to buy as much as possible. Anyhoo, I was looking for some of the lotions like Sleepy, it's all sorts of lavender vanilla heaven. I also got some shower gels like Rose Jam, Sleepy, and Blood Orange. When you're wanting to treat yourself to a bath, their bath bombs and bars are heavenly. For bombs I like sex bomb, twilight, and dragon's egg. For the bubble bars, my fave is the comforter with bright side as a close second. Brightside smells like bathing in some luxurious orange soda. Otherwise, it's better to visit a store in person to get a sense of the smell. read more

Due to a computer glitch I didn't receive an email that the order I placed online was ready for pick up until after the store was closed. The manager, Nick, personally called me to apologize and offer to stay late to get me my order if I needed it today. I told him that wouldn't be necessary and I could just pick it up tomorrow but that I appreciated the call and the offer to stay late was truly going above and beyond. Before sampling a body scrub today, I was offered a popsicle stick to use for the product. After that, I washed my hands in the store sink and went to sample a solid perfume. Since I had just washed my hands and since it was only a solid perfume (not a lip balm or facial product), I didn't think anything of it before using a small amount of the sample. Shortly after this, a male employee rudely scolded me and told me "I should really use a popsicle stick because hundreds of people dig into the products each day and it gets gross". While I agree with the logic behind this statement, I found that the way it was delivered to be highly unprofessional and quite frankly a bit humiliating. Plus, I had just washed my hands beforehand. Additionally, there were no popsicle sticks located near where the solid perfume samples were in the store on that day, only the paper for sprays. The staff was very well trained in understanding the companies mission to making the Workd a better place to the quality of ingredients and formulas. There are samples and wash stations throughout allowing you to test and experience the different blends and effects. Within a few moments my hands were soft and felt very nurtured. The parent company donates a 100 percent of the revenue on certain products to a variety of causes world wide. Most declare a percentage of profit not sales. That speaks loudly to their commitment. Jenna did a demo of a face wash and moisturizer on one arm and then switched up the products on the other arm. She gave me time to let both kind of settle before making a decision. I had ordered some new perfumes today online through the Lush website and was super pumped to see that there was an option for contactless delivery to my car. When I went to pick up my order, I called the store to let them know I was there -- I believe the person I spoke with was Jessica? I couldn't quite catch her name because my cell service in the parking garage was spotty but she had gorgeous longer blonde hair so hopefully someone knows who I am talking about and gives her the recognition she deserves! Anywho, she was incredibly friendly and kind as she helped me navigate from a parking garage on the opposite side of the mall to the parking garage right across from Lush, and she was very detailed about how the whole process would go. She stayed on the phone with me until I was able to find the correct spot for curb-side, and then was at my car with my perfumes almost immediately after I had gotten there. Went in yesterday to stock up on their "Honey, I Washed My Hair!" bar shampoo. I love the stuff. The woman who helped me (I am embarrased to say I don't remember her name) was super friendly and helpful. I knew what I wanted, so she greeted me and was going to let me do my thing, but was right there when I asked her to recommend a soap. She explained how her recommendation would address the concern I had and offered to cut me a smallish piece so I could try it out to make sure I would like it. I am a huge Lush fan, have been for years! So I was bouncing off the walls and counting down the days for this store to open. I hate to report that I was extremely disappointed. The products are amazing, don't get me wrong. I am always in supply of the Mask of Magnaminty, some version of lip scrub and balm, Dreamwash and Dream Cream (the combo has cleared my eczema completely), and Ocean Salt Scrub. I don't use any hair products but I'm sure that day will come soon. My issue is with the staff; when I go to Lush, one of the best parts is interacting with the employees and getting their Intel on the products. I have now been to this location 3 times and not once has an employee acknowledged my presence. No hello or do you need any help, zip/nada/nil. I get this is a college area with SSU and SRJC being so close, but I'd recommend they hire people with actual work ethic rather than a teen trying to make a few bucks. read more

Not sure what the deal with the comments about the staff are...I've been here quite a few times and every time there are different staff members...they have been consistently helpful and greet me when I come in. The employees are always very patient and helpful, but they also give you your own time to look around the store without jumping on you. If you have a question about their lines, they give careful thought into what they would recommend. I'm so happy to have a lush so close to home! I think they have awesome customer service, Jordan usually helps me and a tall, adorable (very lush knowledgable) gentleman. They have both given me some great suggestions, and are very nice while I sniff and poke everything in the store. My only complaint is that they don't seem as well-stocked as some of the larger stores, but luckily they are not as crowded as those stores either. We are not shoppers and definitely have a plan when we go to the mall. The mission: graduation dress....then we got off track but in the best way possible. We popped in to the boutique store next door to Lush to check out the dresses. No luck there. As I spun around to get out before being hounded by an employee, a ton of dazzling colors and beautiful smells wafted my way and caught my attention. I casually checked out the store from the mall walkway and then my eyes landed on the bath bombs. Oh my lord yes. So we hustled in as we had not been able to find suitable bath bombs since a trip to Vegas. (We didn't look to hard mind you). As we bee-lined to the back was the very energetic (the genuine kind of energy, not the foo foo kind) associate came right over and asked if we were familiar with the store and products. Yes...we lied, sort of. I wish I had caught her name but she was helpful and informative. She was very friendly (the genuine kind of friendly, not the "I get paid to push these products hard so don't waste my time kind"). She explained the newer products and the ingredients(she saw right through our lie but wasn't offended or pushy) in the products we were interested in. We were pointed in the direction of some of the more popular items and some of the "cool" items they offer. My companion has some allergies and has trouble with some soap, bubbles, and scented products. These products are hand made and natural! The ingredients are listed on the cards on the store display (nice touch!). The associate explained which products we should ask about before purchasing just to be sure and offered to help us out as we needed it. She seemed to really love these products and believe in the products she sells. I find this refreshing as compared to most stores where employees come across as doing time and not really knowing what they are talking about or caring enough for the customers to have all the information. Lush has an app for iPhone users! You can browse products and "like" them. Those products automatically go to your wish list. When you visit the store you can show the associate your wish list and they can take you directly to your favorite products.
