I visited Dr. Alice Chiang at Artemedica a few weeks ago, and she's amazing! Not only that, but the entire staff and team are wonderful, and the office itself is beautiful and relaxing. I'd had Botox twice before, just a little for my "elevens," but with my 57th birthday approaching, I wanted to try a bit more. Dr. Chiang explained everything so thoughtfully and thoroughly before we started. I can't believe how good the results turned out -- She has a proprietary way she does your eyes, and my eyes look lighter and brighter. The heaviness at the corners is gone! I had a wonderful experience ! I have had breast implants for 46 years and this was the third or fourth time they got encapsulated . So I finally decided to have them removed and have a lift. Fantastic Service - As I aged, the skin underneath my chin and my neck was sagging. Dr. Lacombe said he could fix that, and yes, he did. Everything was explained in advance, appointments were set up, and it was one charge for everything. There were no hidden charges. I've been going to Artemedica for 3 years now as a member of the facial club. I've tried every treatment they offer to members, enjoyed them all and seen such great results from going consistently. I started going because I wanted to address acne, texture, dark spots, fine lines and dryness that I've seen progressively get worse into my 20's and 30's. I have tried pretty much every skincare product on the market and was seeking advice on treatments, as well as product recs that would actually work. I have been soo amazed and happy with my results from using a combination of products recommended to me by Claire and my monthly facial treatment. I primarily see Claire but have seen Veronica as well, they are both experienced and well-educated in their field, incredibly knowledgeable about the treatments and given great product recommendations to me. What I love about going here is that you actually get visible results. I primarily alternate between getting hydrafacials and micro-needling treatments. Hydrafacials I see more instant results and with micro-needling it's more of a long game investment, you see results over time after about 3-4 treatments but everyone's skin is different! First, I want to say that the staff at Artemedica was always incredible. They never lost patience with my questions or fear of pain from treatments, etc. Lovely humans. I received many treatments over a 6 month period with this company before I relocated to LA. My microneedling and facials and injections were perfect. Unfortunately, I am very unhappy with my treatment from Dr. Lacombe and my C02 laser resurfacing results. In fall of 2022, I received under eye/ mid face filler treatment from Veronica at the Healdsburg location. She is an artist with her work and I trusted I was in good hands. She let me know I wasn't getting enough filler to really see big results. Which, I agreed to and understood. After the filler settled, I noticed that I was going to need something more. So, I went to the Santa Rosa location to see Dr. Lacombe. I told him I felt the results needed to be treated because it was lacking volume. He had an air of impatience and frustration as if I wasn't a patient who was obviously not a trained clinician. I was very well mannered and not rude. I felt he was sort of rough and agitated when he administered my injections under my eyes. And he didn't really explain what he was doing to address the complaint I had. He broke the blood vessels on both eyes in the tear area by the way. I had bruising and blood trapped in the area for over a week. Wasn't offered anything. I have had a "lumpy" look under my eyes ever since as the filler has and may never dissolve on its own. Shortly after, I had my C02 laser resurfacing completed by Veronica and another technician. After this experience, I will never do laser treatments unless it is with technicians who have had extensive laser training with certifications probably more safely with a doctor only. No dig at Veronica at all, I just feel no one in office has the extensive training and schooling that laser requires to know all the ins and outs of such an invasive treatment! I had the level 2 C02 which Dr. Lacombe was transparent and told me I would have moderate results that were barely noticeable and that if I wanted noticeable results I would have to get one more treatment! I was super worried about the post treatment care and was told over and over again I would be ok for protected sun exposure after 2 weeks. Little did I know (after speaking to my friend who went to school for laser science) that after invasive laser treatments, one should avoid the sun like the plague for many many months! I exposed my face to the sun far too early post treatment and dare I say, my wrinkles are worse?? I called the office many times for clarification on post care and was told that I was "fine" etc. So, my results from the filler hadn't really settled yet. Which is why I wasn't able to call and voice my concerns about the laser or filler until I had moved to Los Angeles about 1 month after my under eye filler with Dr. Lacombe and about 1 month after my laser. When I called they said they would take a look at it and address it then, but unfortunately I haven't been able to get back to the area. I told them this and was hoping for a partial refund or something but I never was offered that option. For spending around 3k on both treatments, I'm just utterly disappointed with the results. I still have a lumpy appearance under my eyes and after seeing a dermatologist doctor, she informed me the C02 laser should have boasted much much more intense results no matter the strength. And having spent thousands and thousands at this establishment, I was hoping a small partial refund would be offered in my predicament, no questions asked. That's proper customer service! read more

I went in for permanent brows, asking for a light color--possibly dark blonde. I was fully numbed, trusting the "professional" tattooist to do their job. Instead, I left with one eyebrow blue and the other black. When I questioned it, both the staff and doctor dismissed my concerns, telling me it "looked good" and would "wear off." Their response felt careless and gaslighting. What should have been a simple procedure turned into a distressing experience. I've been seeing Victor for over 10 years. He is so talented, thoughtful, and kind. I have recommended his office to several of my friends. My last visit was for Botox. I was NOT a good patient, broke all the rules, and took 4 Excederin the day before my visit (my headaches won that battle). I still didn't have major bruising, just a couple tiny visible spots that will be gone by the weekend. He is a master at his craft and has a wonderful bedside manner. I want to start by saying that the staff at Artemedica is excellent- every person I interacted with was kind, professional, and welcoming. Unfortunately, my experience with their tattoo removal service was extremely disappointing. I went in for a total of six sessions, spending $1,500 and saw absolutely no improvement. I was told by them it would take 4-5 treatments at most. My tattoo remains completely unchanged, with no fading or removal whatsoever. Given the time, money, and discomfort involved, I expected at least some visible progress, but that is not the case. I understand that tattoo removal can take time, but after six treatments, I would have hoped for even minor results. Sadly, this was a complete waste of money. While I appreciate the staff's professionalism, I cannot recommend their tattoo removal services based on my experience. read more

Unless your from Marin.. you will be judged. ( he told me he gets people from Marin county daily) I remember his remarks about how he ..Can not live in lake county without a local Costco. ( he is making fun of the fact I live in Clearlake) My mother in law was the head of home land security for SFO, My husband is a world champion jet skier... but we live in Clearlake.. We have a beautiful house I guess it doesn't matter to you when you make 3k -6 k off of each client...Plus you give them procedures that look less then stellar, or you over charge normal people trying to just look nice. Last time I went in there.. I specifically told his BOT .. greeter chick ..( what a facade ) I JUST WANTED MY LIPS DONE.. BOTOX and fillers around my mouth. I then said MAYBE !!!! My TEAR trough.!! I told Bot and VICTOR. That same thing!!!!!!! He started injecting me.. we were chatting. I seriously was so happy to get my injections. He ended up charging me 5 grand. I was so happy .. I signed my visa and went to lunch with my friend . My friend asked me, why I got charged so much.. she said they are taking advantage of you. She was right there in the room. She told them.. I heard her SAY MAYBE tear trough. I went back after lunch and asked why I was changed 5 grand ?? They did my under EYES without my consent , so I came back and told them about it. So they decided to charge me $4 grand and I naively I accepted.. ( 1 grand off!! ) These people are a piece of work.. go anyplace else. They treat you like your less then human. Dr Chiang at Artemedica - nutty, incompetent, or both? I tried to book my Injectables appointment with my regular person, Jessica, but she was booking pretty far out and it was post-pandemic, so I was overdue. That's on me - I should have known the person who is available next week is probably not the person you want to see. I don't know if I said something to set her off, but she was passive-aggressively trying to insult my face. For example, while injecting Botox, she said, "Your forehead is REALLY high AND broad"...when she didn't get a response from me, she doubled down..."I mean it's REALLY HIGH AND BROAD!" I responded, "Yep, I've had it for 59 years now, so I'm familiar." She continued to offer pejorative remarks at my face while injecting me (hey, whatever floats your boat). Then, she suddenly starts applying pressure to the bridge of my nose and under my right eye. She admitted she hit a blood vessel in my tear trough area. She used pressure, ice and a laser to minimize the damage, but it was bad. See my photo of the injury a full six days later, when I saw Artemedica's owner, Dr Lacombe, for another laser treatment to break up the pooled blood (also see my second pic, following that laser treatment). It was impossible to cover this injury with makeup for at least 10 days, during which time I couldn't be out in public. I've since learned Dr Chiang is actually an OPHTHALMOLOGIST, not a Plastic Surgeon (nor particularly skilled at Injectables). I should note, I've been having injectables for over 20 years, in 3 different regions of the Bay Area and I have never received an injury at all (beyond tiny injection bruises, which last ~1 day and are easily covered with makeup). There was no discount nor apology offered by Dr Chiang, nor from Dr Lacombe (whom, I've since learned, is Dr Chiang's "husband"). In summary, Dr Chiang is probably fine if you need glasses or contact lenses, but for Injectables, I sure wouldn't risk my face (and sure wish I hadn't paid over $2,000 for this "privilege"). read more

Claire has completely transformed my skin! I'd been going to Artemedica for a few years to get Botox, and finally decided to get a facial from Claire. At the time, I had some texture issues, and had also started to see some dark spots -- so I thought it wouldn't hurt to try a facial. I started with trying a Hydrafacial and loved the clarity I would see afterwards. Claire is SUPER knowledgeable and explains the science around the products she's applying. After getting a few hydrafacials, I started using Skinmedica products and other products that are sold from Artemedica -- Claire never forced a purchase, but explained the ingredients in the products she was recommending for my particular (sensitive and sometimes acne prone) skin. My skin really started to transform. I eventually became a member of the elite facial club -- sense then, I've started getting microneedling, dermaplanning, and peels from Claire. She recommends what she thinks I need and would benefit from, and I appreciate how knowledgeable she is around all things skincare. This is a cautionary tale about a business that has great people working there and offers so much for the client that the after care has taken a far rear seat. In my case, I visited 4 times for Botox, Restalyn, and laser treatment. In each visit, the staff was accommodating and kind-yet the service of the procedure was rough, left bruises for over a week, or did not take at all. God forbid anyone reports this and asks for a redo, or refund! The last visit, we had laser which did not take at all and had severe burns. We asked for a refund after seeing the lack of promised results and this is exactly where this company falls to zero accountability. In my perspective, this amounts to fraud. So I wanted to wait some time before I wrote this review but I guess it's about time to ride it so I got this procedure done back in April for the Mira dry I had all the common symptoms that everybody else had I would first like to start off by saying that when I booked my appointment over the phone, I was never given a consultation prior to my visit coming in when I came in I'm not gonna say any names, but the lady had asked me if I had a consultation and I did say yes but as it dawned on me, I was like no I didn't. I just had a long conversation with the receptionist on the phone because I was looking for someone to do my treatment, and this was the place that I came across that seemed like they had really good reviews fast forward to after the appointment and I'm swollen again I'm going through all the stuff that anybody else would typically go through. I am on the smaller side I'm about 100 pounds 5 feet even after three months I did notice banding starting to happen well let me back up when I told her that I didn't have a consultation after the procedure they didn't really have much to say but she was looking at my under arm hair and had asked when was the last time I shaved and I said about a week ago and she still continued with the procedure cause I guess your hairs had to be not recently shaved because they didn't wanna do the procedure with them being any nicks When I was done with my appointment. I had to ask the front desk for ice packs that the lady who did my procedure said they would already give to me. I think they should have bags at the front receptionist. I already have Tylenol and ice packs already in them ready to go for clients so I thought it was a little annoying for $1500. I did not get a consultation and I was not just given a bag with Tylenol and with ice packs then when she gave me the ice packs there was only one ice pack not two for both arms so it was just kind of annoying after I started experiencing the banding I called in because I was just in excruciating pain, I can't do anything I can't stretch my arm. I did read that this was a rare case so they decided to prescribe me a five day steroid treatment and then they said that she would follow up with me in mid treatment to see how I was doing. I have yet to receive a phone call from his office to follow up with me about the procedure I feel like $1500 has been a lot of money to not be given ice packs and I'll be given Tylenol into that. I will be following up with you or giving you consultations or checking in with you prior to your appointment I don't know if it was just my experience. I don't know if it was the fact that I was a woman of color I don't know the staff is very bubbly and friendly, but definitely lack the attention to detail when you are coming in getting these type of procedures for the first time I definitely think they could have more attention to detail for me, but it is what it is. I would not return here to get second marriage treatment done. I will definitely be seeking elsewhere and at this point, I'm probably gonna have to go to my primary care physician to address the pain because I don't have faith in this company anymore. read more

Apparently terrible at injectables. I just read a review written a year ago by a woman that had a similar outcome from a different Dr. in the practice. Dr. Lacombe broke a blood vessel under my eye and left heavy bruising all over my face. For several weeks, I looked like I had been in a car crash or had been a victim of domestic violence. I did return on three separate occasions to correct the mistake however I still have bags under my eyes where the filler was placed. I look awful. I have since done some research and found that filler should not be used under the eyes for this very reason. I am recommending a continuing education course on injectables for the Dr.'s in this practice. read more
