Wonderful wonderful wonderful. I bought a livingsocial deal to see Karen for a facial and walked out confident I was going to be one of her new regulars. Karen is clearly an expert at what she does. She is knowledgeable and experienced (if i'm not mistaken, about 20 years in the buisness), and she cares a lot about you. I really appreciate that she explained everything to me in a way I could understand, as well as just generally being extremely pleasant and fun to chat with during my wonderful facial. She made recommendations, but never tried to push me in to products unless I showed interest. Her voice is also very relaxing. I enjoyed my experience so much the first time around, I scheduled another appointment with her that day to get a wax for my upcoming trip. I got my eyebrows, lower leg and bikini line. This was my first time waxing and I was nervous. Was it going to be really painful? Would I break out in to a rash (I have annoyingly sensitive skin)? Was I going to have to walk like a penguin for the next few days? The wax, while not completely painless, was very low on pain and extremely tolerable (even the bikini line!). My legs broke out in to a red fury for a few hours, but I'm convinced those oils she used on my legs afterwards (jasmine? lavender? nom!!!) were what ultimately calmed them, as usually my skin irritation lasts for days. Karen is fantastic! She is very knowledgeable about skin and skin care and employs the best/correct "treatment" specifically for you. She really cares and wants to help you improve your skin. I found Karen through a clinic in SF (after an IPL procedure). She helped me find a new skin regime - Vivant. Because I was new to it, she had me start with travel sizes, and asked me to keep in touch. Once I started using it, I had unexpected dryness and breakouts, and she had me alter the routine to counteract those results. It made a big difference and I am really, really happy with the results. I appreciated how supportive and responsive she was throughout. I also liked that she didn't ask me to commit to a ton of money before I knew if it would work, but suggested travel sizes. I have been seeing Karen for a year and she has completely transformed my skin! I just went in today for a refresher facial with a pal of mine. Wow, this gal is wonderful! First of all, when she tells you her age you'll be shocked, she looks amazing, clearly she knows what she's doing. Our appt. was supposed to only last an hour each, but she spent extra time making sure we were happy. She has this lip plumping stuff that's better than any lipstick I've seen! Also, I had a small skin blemish that I thought I'd have to go to a doctor to get removed, but she took care of it for me. I first went to Karen a little over a month ago, due to Rosacea, which I have had since I was about sixteen. As I have aged, it has gotten worse, I am 64 years old. I went because of all of the great Yelp reviews, and her clinic is in Santa Rosa, where I live. This "red-face" problem is not easy to deal with and is sometimes worse than other times, but always with me. Karen is compassionate and professional, and I felt, from our first meeting, that she really wanted to help me, and she knew how to go about it. Her products are very good for my skin, and her light therapy treatments (not laser, no pain, no downtime), have helped me as well. Her clinic is clean and beautiful, when you go to see her, you will feel pampered and cared for. I still experience "flare-ups", but I think I am on the right track, for the first time in my life, because like so many with skin problems, I have literally tried everything out there and gotten little or no results. Before Karen, it felt like I spent so much money that went right down the drain, and I derided myself for doing it, feeling stupid to fall for one more skin care routine, or gimmick. Karen is different and much more honest in her approach, saying that I may have this problem for a very long time, but together we can learn to manage it so that I have more confidence because I will look much better, hence, feel much better as I go out and about in the world. I want to thank Karen from the bottom of my heart for helping my acne healing process. I suffered for many years with cystic acne and didn't really know how to take care of my skin. She not only took the time to extract the cysts as they came up, but she taught me how to wash my face and recommended specific products that were beneficial for my skin type. At first she was honest with me and told me not to get discouraged. She said it would take about a year to start seeing the difference. In my case, since it was a genetic condition I had to go in once a week for the first month and once or twice a month for the rest of the year. The peels changed the appearance of my skin dramatically and I did research on my own about how nutrition could help hormonal imbalances. Since my acne was partly hormonal I discovered that a whole foods--plant based diet and certain seeds and vegetables help regulate hormones naturally. Also, essential oils were a great help particularly Progessence Plus from Young Living Essential Oils which is an oil designed specifically to regulate female hormones. Even though eating healthy improved my energy and regulated my hormones there is no doubt in my mind that without Karen the process would've been much more tedious and lengthy. Unfortunately I had to move to another country, but if I hadn't moved I would get a peel with Karen once a month for maintenance. It feels so good now to look in the mirror and not see countless blemishes or have to apply a thick layer of makeup. For more than 15 years I felt painful bumps when I washed my skin, but lately my skin feels smooth to the touch. Karen at Hello Beautiful is AMAZING!!! She has done more for my acne scarred skin than any doctor I've seen over the last 20+ years. My skin never breaks out anymore. With her products my skin is consistently healthy looking. I now glow...I didn't think my skin could do that!! Lately I have been seeing her for peels to see what we can do to diminish the look of my scarring. Last year I went to a dermatologist to have a CO2 laser resurfacing treatment. It ended up making my scars worse!!! And I looked awful for several weeks after. I've been seeing Karen since March 2013 to treat my adult acne. At 35 I've used accutane twice, antibiotics oral and topical, birth control, retin A, every single OTC product you can imagine, many estheticians, microbrasion and on and on . I was just about to use accutane for the third time to rid myself of the cystic acne I've had for 20 years but thought I'd Karen try. I went weekly for the first six weeks, biweekly for a couple months and now I'm only going once a month. I haven't had a cystic pimple in 2 months! My only complaint is, when I booked the appt. I was told to bring in my skin products that I use and that the appt would be a little longer so they could go over my skin care.
