This review is for the lady with the orange hair. WITH the very condescending attitude My BF and I went into Sephora to look for the YSL star clash limited edition lipstick. Knowing it was a long shot, we still gave it a try. It was sold out in every Sephora located within 100 miles of our location. (Yes we went to every one). We went in directly for the YSL section and obviously there was none at the top. We opened the drawer at the bottom since the person next to us said that sometimes they don't put the new stock on display. Once we opened we saw 7 star clash lipsticks. Seven!!!!!!! We ended up buying all of them because they were going to be gifts for family and friends. Anyways, the lady with the orange hair came to us after we already grabbed our lipsticks. She told us,"if you're looking for the star clash, there's no more and we haven't restocked in awhile..." lies. Lies lies lies written all over her face! I love going to this store! The people here are always incredibly friendly to me and help me find exactly what I'm looking for. I never wore any makeup until about 2 weeks ago, and suddenly I found myself in Sephora one day and now I can't get enough of this place. I do not think the products are overpriced at all; the quality is amazing. One of my favorite things about this store is the way in which I receive free samples of products every time I make a purchase. read more

They have the best selection of beauty brands. The employees are always so helpful and will make you samples of pretty much anything you want to try (foundation, eye cream, oils, etc) They also have an excellent return policy. If you don't like something you can return it whenever you want no matter how long it's been or how much you've used it and you don't need a receipt. This is my first review, since I've never felt so strongly about bad customer service until now. This one star is for that one time Sephora provided good customer service. Other than that, it's been headache after headache at this location. I've been a VIB rouge for years. And around Oct.2016 I booked an appointment for the first time online for full make-up for my sister's wedding. I went on the wedding date and they said I needed a confirmation email but unfortunately I didn't get one (I looked at my every email, spam/junk email..and nothing) After talking and arguing and trying to see if they can do it even without the confirmation, they wouldn't give you the service. Half an hour later trying to figure why I wasn't listed, I decided I'm better off going to an actual salon and pay for the updo and make-up since I'll be late for the wedding. They give you such a hard time and won't even help you with anything unless you spend money. What's the point of being a VIB rouge if you have to pay to get a service you're supposed to have after spending all that money to reach that status? What's worse, 2 weeks ago I went and bought something at the store and ask them to book a full make-up appointment for a company cocktail party on Jan.13 and they booked it using their IPad. they even asked me what kind of look I would want, what skin type I have and they said its booked. I went today for the appointment and they said my name wasn't on their list, that I need a confirmation email and maybe I went on the wrong date. So many excuses, they're the ones who booked my appointment at their store and they're saying again that they couldn't do it. I am time crunched since I only have an hour to get ready and it would be pointless to argue since it's a lost cause anyway. Asking me who I booked it with is a ridiculous question. Trying to blame someone else first. Why not try and resolve the issue and help the customer first instead of looking at your employees and arguing and trying to figure out how to nicely say 'No, unfortunately we really can't do it for you.' But I guess if you spend and buy more than $50, they'll do your makeup posthaste. I am never shopping at Sephora again. I'll redeem my 4k+ points and be done with this company. I had to walk out in frustration due to the unprofessional behavior of the supervisor/manager of this store who cannot seem to find time to help someone for free. Actually it is not free since I've spent thousands this year as a Rouge member, but unfortunately I never got the additional service or perks that it has through all the years I was a Rouge. I called their customer service line afterwards, the lady was nice enough but she said she couldn't really find ways to help since she don't have access to in-store make-up appointments. She told me all she can do was give me points but I declined since the points were useless anyway. I've been shopping at this store for years and I even know their guard/security guy. It's unfortunate how their customer service has gone down. I regret taking their surveys and giving good reviews on the little things they do well. I was helped by a lovely woman named Jessica. I told her I needed help getting my foundation matched. She seemed happy to help me. She was attentive as I told her about all of my skincare needs and about what products I was interested in. Although she had her personal favorites, she listened to see what products I was interested in. She matched my color and we tried on a few. In the end we found a perfect match and she even recommended a primer and a powder that would help keep me matte all day. I appreciated that she never made me felt pressured to buy anything even though she made recommendations. Instead, she gave me a few samples to try on at home. In the end, she rang me up with a mobile device and I was on my way. The store was very busy, so I appreciate that she took the time to make me feel really taken care of. She was also working really hard to try and help any clients who came to her for help while she was helping me. She didn't want to turn anyone away, but I still felt really taken care of. All in all, she was awesome. I would absolutely trust her with all of my beauty and skincare needs. read more

I was just in today. I was walking around trying to find a new foundation and concealer on my own. José approached me and helped me find the foundation coverage I was seeking and also showed me how to apply a concealer appropriate to my under eyes. Out of all the Sephora's I've ever gone too, I hands down loved the experience here. José was so helpful and I'm GRATEFUL he was there today. With out him I would have probably been there for an hour and left with the wrong foundation and concealer. I was in and out of there in less than 30 mins because of his help. I never had a problem with sephora until i encountered the rudest employee that dissed my friend and I just because my friend was wearing a jeffree star brand lip color. We went there on a Saturday night and we were just simply looking at lipcolors and a african american woman that works at sephora didnt catch her name but approached us and asked us if we need help and we said nicely no thank you we are just looking around then she goes and compliments my friends lip color asking what brand it is and my friend says jeffree star and the woman goes "ughh not jeffree" she then gives us a dirty look, and totally disses us and ignores us and walks away totally being rude to us, i was just amazed she has a job there because usually they are nice. I have been a long time shopper at Sephora and not just once a year when my foundation runs out. I have spent much of my hard earned money at this establishment. One of the reasons I love shopping at Sephora is for the freedom to walk into a Sephora store, be greeted my friendly helpful faces, and be able to swatch and test out all the products. This is the case at almost ever Sephora I have been to, except the Sephora in Oakridge mall in San Jose, Ca. The staff was friendly and helpful but the security guard was not! Everytime I have walked into this store I am greeted by this security guards mean mug. As I am swatching different products and I am bombarded by him asking what I need. If this was a one time case I would have brushed it off but this has happened the last FIVE TIMES! He follows me around the store like I don't belong there. I have watched him and haven't seen him do this to anyone else. One time he made me and my mother so uncomfortable that I left without buying what I drove there to get. Mind you, I am not a suspicious looking person. Nor have I acted a certain way in any Sephora to be treated this way. Never have I felt so uncomfortable in a store! WORST EXPERIENCE I HAVE EVER EVER HAD. Today I walked into Sephora hoping to find a good foundation for my upcoming vacation, browse the new products, and play with makeup as the makeup junkie in myself would normally do going inside a Sephora, but it turned out to be the worst Sephora store I have ever walked into. First let me start off by telling you that I am a frequent shopper at Sephora and a VIB Rouge Member. Next let me tell you what I was wearing, black yoga pants, sneakers, and a Victorias Secret pullover sweater-typical right? As soon as I made my first step in the store I noticed that the security had his eyes on me. Ok, I thought to myself, its his job to see who walks in and acts suspicious and what not. 2 minutes into browsing the new display I had noticed that he was right behind me, eyes like a hawk. He stepped back a little to speak into his earpiece clearly talking about me into his headset. I just told myself to ignore it and just continue along like nothing was happening. Right after that a female Sephora employee had creeped up along side the aisle that I was in, stuck her head out suspiciously, and in the most indiscreet way was watching me. As soon as she saw me just swatching foundations on the back of my hand she talked into her headset and said"it's all clear." I have never been so upset, disappointed, and DISGUSTED in the way I was treated in this store. I am 100% sure that it was because of the way that I had looked walking in the store. So ladies and gents, unless you are carrying a designer handbag, dressed up head to toe-DO NOT expect to be treated as a customer but a thief. I love shopping around in a pair of yoga pants and a comfy top, as many other people can contest to. The way the Sephora employees based their judgement solely on my looks and attire reflect terribly on the company. This was not the first instance that has happened to me in a Sephora. Everyone SHOULD be treated with the same type of customer service and not be judged on race, gender, shape, or attire. Sephora needs to reevaluate the way they enforce customer service and serve the customers with respect and treat them as they were actual customers spending hundreds of dollars a year on products. Regardless on the amount that is spent, customer service should be nothing less of excellence. I give this store 2 thumbs down and highly recommend ordering online or going to a different Sephora even if it is out of your way. Maybe even try an Ulta instead. I did not appreciate this one particular worker when asked advice on color matching my little sister. I understand certain people don't buy makeup after they have been helped, however on a separate occasion I went with my friend whom did buy over $100 worth of stuff. As a friend, I wanted to make sure that she was happy about the makeup before buying. I love makeup and I spend the most at Sephora but this location makes me so uncomfortable to walk into. I get that people do not want to be stolen from but I don't like to be followed around the store when I am just trying to shop. Just last week I went in with my friend and sister to get foundation concealer eyeliner and lipstick for her graduation this week and while we started admiring lipsticks in Tarte we realized the security was watching us. Walked in today to exchange a KatV. Foundation that didn't work for my skin type, I was approached by an employee named D. Let me just say that I have never felt more comfortable at a makeup store then with D. I told her what I wanted to exchange the foundation for (Tarte) and she gave me her own recommendation on another foundation (Too faced) along with reasons to back up her recommendation! She sat me down and took her sweet time to show me the product and give me extra tips on how and with what to apply it with. Not once did she make me feel rushed or uncomfortable like how I have before with previous employees. Definitely felt the need to buy both of her recommendations for my oily skin. I was waiting to write this after I tried the recommended product. I am makeup challenged but need to wear it. My target mascara was leaving marks and bleeding onto my upper and lower lids. I work in a restaurant and don't always have the chance to check for makeup flaws. I went in with my daughter who is not challenging in the makeup department and I finally found the courage to ask someone for a mascara that would actually be waterproof. Sara was amazing! She recommended a few but let me know that for what I was doing and needed the better than sex waterproof would be good. I wasn't ready to buy that day but went back and got it. It is everything she said it would be. I must say that I hate spending real money on makeup but this was 100% worth it. Sara made me feel comfortable and sympathized with me on being makeup challenged but also gave me the confidence that I could overcome it. I never know when I'm going to go, and I feel it might be weird to call and ask if she is working, but I think I will have to just to get her recommendations on a few other things. read more

Free shipping and etc. I called ahead to place an item on hold. When I got there, items were ready at the cashier and there wasn't a line. I prefer this one and Santana Row because the one at Valley Fair is too crowded. Who likes standing in lines? Came in here shortly before closing tonight after getting wasted with a bunch of friends at BJs. We just popped in to grab a thing or three as I need some new make up. One lady walked up and greeted us and asked if we needed any help. Nope, just browsing so she handed us a little basket. Once we found we wanted we went to the counter. Sometimes, you return an item to Sephora, and then get confused because the money never shows up in your account statement. Then, you call the store and ask their manager (Coco) to do 2 days of of unnecessary work to find your receipt, because you are an idiot and threw it away. Finally, Coco informs you that the return went back onto a card that you rarely use, and you didn't bother to check. Not only was my in-store experience pleasant and helpful, but the customer service that I received from the manager was unreal. She went above and beyond to get back to me quickly each time, and didn't even hate me when I realized my mistake. 100 stars for Coco, and for this Sephora. read more

Yes another place for the product junkie in me to spend spend spend. I stopped in quickly hoping they would have one of the items I saw in the online shop. I was in luck they did. I spent a little time looking over the rest of the store, lots of goodies to try. The Carols Daughter's display was a little suspect though. The containers for sale were kind of greasy. I haven't been back here in awhile since it is a bit of a drive from Fremont but I came here today because they were able to put an Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit on hold for me after other Sephora locations opt'd to do first come first serve since the product is very hot. I waited in line anxiously and Alex was my cashier. She was super helpful in finding my product that was on hold, a little chit chat while ringing me up and made me laugh a few times throughout the process. Your experience here will really depend on who helps you (if anyone does). Some days you go in and get completely ignored even if you spend 30 min in there. Other days you get three associates helping you. I had one lady whom I asked for help finding a product, she didn't say one word to me and just pointed at it, then walked away. One lady who works there is Sarah and she is really helpful and sweet. I feel like Sephora is pretty overpriced (I usually find the best deals on Amazon) so if I pay 30 bucks on mascara I try to load up on samples. Some of the associates are helpful with the samples and others aren't. I am not going to buy a $50 product without testing it first, I mean come on! The have a fairly expansive selection of products, however their product knowledge is limited. Sometimes they have people who work there who know a specific line. The other day there was a woman in there who knew everything about the Philosophy line. So if you want to know more about a product try to find the right person, otherwise you may just get a bs answer. If you can't get help or think you got a wrong answer try looking on their website for reviews of the products there, really helpful. Returns are usually no problem there, even without the receipt. Also they blast the AC in there and it can be pretty cold. read more

Back when a guy named Anton worked here, everything was great. I haven't seen him working here in a while, but he was the only associate that genuinely cared and respected Sephora's customers. Whenever I need assistance with something, other than a purchase, the associates are very rude. They do not allow one to fully explain the situation. Instead, they cut you off mid sentence, no matter how nicely I approach them, no matter how politely I ask them. I've been a loyal customer at this branch ever since they opened and I am a VIB member, but I never get treated like one. I have had about 3 negative experiences at this store, 2 from last year and 1 from this year. It will also be the last one. I am vowing never to step foot in this Sephora again. I care not to mention the negative experiences, they're just awfully draining to even think about. All 3 have one thing in common though, their lack of respect for their customers. I have given this store so many chances, I am definitely taking my business elsewhere. P.S. If they help you and you seem happy about your experience, they will happily give you their name to take Sephora's customer satisfaction survey and really push you to go the extra mile & give them a good review. However, if they do poorly, they will conceal their identities to whatever extent. Also, I do not see the employees wearing name tags. I dont know if they are required or not, but maybe if they were wearing name tags, they would start treating their customers a lot better. read more

I was on my way to Bare Escentuals, but I really haven't been that happy with them so when I saw Sephora open I had to go in. First impressions were that the store is pretty big and very clean. I was aimlessly wandering around looking through the jungle of concealers and foundations and getting kind of dejected because I don't know much about makeup when the nicest employee named May came to my rescue. She looked at my skin and immediately found a foundation and concealer for me. She walked me over to the chair and worked her magic. I have very fair skin and I've never found anything that's matched my skin tone, but she managed to do it. Along with the foundation and concealer, she used a few primers and whatnot, which she gave me generous samples of so I could try them out at home and see if I wanted to come back for them. After buying my things, I decided to check out the perfumes. She saw me looking and asked me if I wanted a sample. She also told my boyfriend to go over to the men's wall and choose one he wanted a sample of. I thought that was really nice! If you go in and are lucky enough to have May help you out, you'll definitely leave feeling confident with your purchases and happy with the customer service. read more

Went in the other day, fell in love with a bronzer/blush duo only to discover they were out. The sales lady told me to come back Friday because they get their shipments on Thursday. I called Friday morning to ask if they had it in stock. I described the item to the clerk over the phone, she left me on hold for 2 minutes and then declared they didn't have it. I was looking at the item on their website and offered to give her the item number but instead she said they never carry online items. I was about to tell her I saw it in the store the other day but she had already hung up. I went to the store later that day and found what I asked for over the phone. Also found the same employee that helped me over the phone standing behind the register texting on her phone. -_- Two stars because of the first clerk that helped me and because they carry great products. read more
