Went here the other day and was approached by a woman who worked there who asked if I was looking for anything in particular, i said Anastasia Beverly Hills, & she passed me off to another person named Thomas. Thomas was able to quickly suggest and help me color match for more product. Thomas was professional, friendly & knowledgeable. I haven't been out to a mall by myself in over a year or two (medical condition), & needed to update some makeup. Thomas let me know what color product he used & recommend I do the same (I told him I did like it on the darker side) Then i went on my own and walked around a bit before I stopped near Laura Mercier. I saw 3 employees talking to eachother & I went and asked if there was anyone available to help me. My concerns were I have sensitive skin & a medical condition. Dee was able to help me color match my skin, recommend a darker tinted moisturizer, and regular moisturizer. Dee was both professional and empathetic, I had a great time talking to them both! Kudos to Sephora for diversifying there teams some more & their inclusion. Thomas and Dee, your makeup tips/recommendations have been helpful! I knew I could trust you both when I saw your makeup. 4/5 stars because Im really allergic/sensitive to the lights/heat in the shops. All of the staff were really weird and annoying. The employees asked me if I needed help ten times. I feel like they were way too interested in what I was doing. If I tell one person that I do not need help, I'm definitely not going to need help from the next person who asks me. I just got really uncomfortable, and I put my item back, because I can get it cheaper on Mercari or Poshmark (then I don't have to deal with anyone.) Sephora; I adore ya. I'm not a terribly girly-girl, but I like my makeup, and Sephora excites the same part of my brain as a lot of other good, addictive things. It would be easy to spend a lot of money here in a short amount of time, but conversely, I love spending a lot of time here poking around, testing this, that, and the other, and can be satisfied leaving with just one little treasure. After one or two "Can I help you's," staff usually figure out that I'm a browser and leave me alone, but if I accept their offer, they are so ready to help out, and clearly, these are people whose brains are excited in the same way as mine by makeup and skincare products. The selection is beyond compare, as is the service. I brought in a four-month old pot of cream eye-liner that I thought had gone dry too quickly, wondering how long I should expect it to last and if anything could be done. No questions asked, they immediately swapped it out for a new one. Most recently, I was shopping for a new foundation. I had it down to a Lorac formula when I took a sales associate up on her offer of help. Asking for foundation that I wouldn't feel, she thought immediately of Nars. Long story short: she applied each to half my face (beautifully), I still preferred the Lorac, and she didn't pressure. That's a very good thing. I adore ya. Just a note: that was November 6th. I was there for some kind of event to get the free gift bag. There was a line since 4:00, so I was told they sold out when I got there at the start time at 5. Everyone there was super nice, even thought I was looking for a mere lip stain product. They took their time to show me the different types. Buying lipstick is not a simple procedure anymore. I found one for a rock bottom price of $12 in a beautiful plum color. I love this very quiet section of the mall. I got a heads up to sign up for some kind of card where I'll get a free birthday gift coming up. I'm glad to not have to deal with MOA, and I agree with Melissa, this is nicer. read more

I swear every time I go to a Rosedale, Roseville, pick your name, area it makes me want to avoid the area all together. Went into Sephora Rosedale looking for a few products. For one, they never have all I want, I 8 out of 10 times end up having to go elsewhere or online. But when you go somewhere to spend money you expect a certain level of pleasantry. But we stop in because we're actually on our way to bath n bodywork's, our planned schedule is changing and decide why not. My daughter, sister, and myself, grabbed a few of what we wanted, that were available, and proceeded in our search. Now the store was crowded, and we don't always need help looking for what we want, but at NO TIME we're we stopped and asked are we doing ok... I've worked retail, you are to make all feel welcome. Even when helping someone else. You simply stop and ask "are you doing ok, is there someone I can send over to help you OR do you need help finding anything, I'm currently helping someone but I can come back once I'm done?" Nothing. I stopped someone myself and asked were they anymore sample of the FENTY EZ Tint. She looked in the drawer and told me "we're out but I can mix you some and get that to you, just give me a few minutes while I finish up with someone else". Thank you no problem. We proceeded to wait there cause it was the last on our list. Being passed up, walked by. Yes busy, but again where is our courtesy or recognition? We're standing in a spot with products in our hands. No acknowledgement, so I see someone walking by. Not helping anyone not on a mission, your pace told me you weren't, but was clearly about to walk right by us. I stop her, explain my situation of not available was told one would be doctored up. "Oh I'm sorry due to COVID we can't do that, because they're sealed blah blah" ... so you just won't provide that sample anymore? What ever. I've seen several ppl use they're fingers on open products and half the customers aren't wearing mask. So really? COVID? Instead I say well I was told it can be done. She ask who, because she knows differently, but willing to ask. I point her out, she goes to ask her. Then that 1st "helpful" lovely employee tells her "nope it wasn't me that told her" seriously? Absolutely great experience. I came here for help with an eyeshadow palette I purchased and I wasn't sure how to combine the eyeshadow colors. I was referred to with Haley, and she did the prettiest eye look. She was patient and explained the steps along the way. I absolutely loved how my eyeshadow looked. In addition to this, I am always on the quest for a great mascara. I've tried 4 mascara brands at Sephora that have all been just so so. Haley recommended the Urban Decay Perversion mascara, which is the best mascara I've ever used. She also recommended a really pretty blush color, and had great things to say about the perfume I chose. I bought the blush and the mascara. I'm definitely coming back to buy the perfume, as it lasted pretty all day. Really great service, great recommendations for products, and great makeup techniques. I'll definitely be back. read more

I went to your store instead of purchasing online and I get no help, no greeting, and no acknowledgment for being a rouge why would I come here? This older lady at the register looked overwhelmed while not receiving any help and watching the line grow. I wanted some samples and got zero help with that either. This is the big girl's candy store. I think a lot of ladies get stuck in the same makeup rut--I mean "brands" as their mothers (sorry mom), so Sephora is a great place to discover greener makeup pastures. The employees are really helpful, especially in situations where you're looking for that one thing your friend got that makes her skin glow, but no, it isn't that one, but you know what I'm talking about? For the most part it's just fun to browse and test products, so I prefer to "struggle" on my own, feeling no pressure to buy (since there's no one in white jackets staring at you from behind a glossy counter). If you find yourself frequenting Sephora you should also join their rewards program "Beauty Insiders," because it's free and you'll unlock a treasure chest of free samples and get a little gift when your birthday rolls around. read more

One of my favorite beauty shops. Having worked at the Sephora at Mall of America many years ago, I know my way around a lipstick or two. Besides their wonderful collections of prestige cosmetics, haircare and luxury skin care brands, they have an excellent selection of women's and men's fragrances. If you can't find it in the store, they will likely have it online and you can get free shipping with a purchase of $50 or more. I've been known to dabble in the fine art of make-up and the correct application thereof. I do enjoy a nice solid foundation, like Lorac pressed powder foundation and Bareminerals loose powder foundation. You can achieve a heck of a full coverage with those powder minerals alone, you won't even need a liquid foundation. A primer, however, is absolutely essential to smooth out the skin prior to applying foundation to help achieve a long lasting look. Makeup Forever has an excellent primer and so does Too Faced. Tools, brushes and applicators, they carry an enormous collection of all the beauty essentials you might need. Everyone has always been super helpful and polite at the Rosedale location. I've never felt like I'm not given my space to shop at my own leisure. If you're into eye shadows and blush, might I recommend Nars, founded by the French genius Francois Nars. He knows how to make us blush. Go and try on some old favorites or look for a new one. There is something for everyone at Sephora! read more

Whenever I go there there are some employees who think my sisters and I are going to steal. My sisters are black and I'm Asian and they couldn't stop looking at us the whole time. We usually go try makeup and see what products we like, but they always come up and ask if we want help every 5 minutes or so. And it's the same workers asking! They pretend to change the trash right where we are so they could see if we are so called stealing. I heard they thought a girl stole something because she didn't want it anymore. Similar to us how they don't say things directly about stealing but say things that hint that they think we're stealing, like "you girls are here. AGAIN." The story about the other girl they pressured her into showing where she left the foundation she didn't want anymore, so it's obvious they were assuming she was stealing. Plus, they seem to target the colored people. read more

The lady who did my face was so completely rude she insulted the texture of my skin and the way it looked and said the actual words "no amount of make up is going to cover that up" and then when I tried to brush it off and ask about products I could use to maybe "fix" my skin she rushed me out without trying to sell me anything even when they still had more than enough time to help me. She saw that I needed help and assisted me right away - without seeming pushy like I often feel at chain stores like this. She asked all the right questions and helped me sample products. I rejected make up until I was approximately 27 but thank goodness I have Sephora to help me figure it out! I've come to this store a few times and always found the sales people to be extremely helpful but without the pressure. Once, we were on a family shopping trip and brought our 3-year old to the store. The girl helping me literally handed her a make up brush and let her go to town with the display items. Of course, she picked the brightest eye shadows she could find and promptly did up her face but the girl just laughed and told me they had make up remover wipes we could use when she was done. Who does that? She loved it, I loved that she had fun and I didn't have to worry about her too much and that it was easy to clean up. I've bought a few things from them but always find more when I go in. I love perusing all the perfumes when I go in, trying to find that perfect scent - hasn't happened yet. read more

It's sad that this is the only sephora location near me, I spend a good amount of money here and get treated like shit by all the workers. I have talked to one nice worker of the two years I have been coming here. After the new year I came to the mall to exchange a gift and thought I should take a look in sephora and as soon as I was in im getting stared down by every worker, this one worker is literally breathing on my neck watching every move I decided I was going to grab some glitter and as soon as she saw something in my hand she grabbed a basket and forced me to put my items in it. I got one pair of lashes and glitter, thats it! I stop in the line to get my beauty card and payment ready and I look up and she's right in my face asking what I was doing. She honestly gave me anxiety and made me feel very very uncomfortable. I paid for all my items and gladly left. It was borderline harassment with how rude she was and how she couldn't stay a foot away from me. I wish I knew her name so I could put her on blast. She was mostly blonde with lowlights and had it in a ponytail with bright red or pink even though every basic bitch that works there looks like that. read more

I am an established MUA and have been working in the beauty industry for more than 15+ years. In all my years of doing gigs working at flagships stores; never have I seen or experience what I experienced today. It was the worst customer service experience along with a lack of knowledge and the inability to connect with the customer, ignorance, and downright insensitivity. When I shop for product I am in need of replenishing my kit immediately which means I am not looking for a thing or two; I am here on a contract so I don't have the immediate luxury of getting specific products from flagship stores - while waiting for products to be shipped. Being in the industry for so long and always making my customer service a priority it is very insulting to even think that employees are ok with themselves to behave in such an ignorant manner. That isn't exactly true. You can request a free shipping code from the store if they don't have what you want, OR they will order it for you and have it shipped to you for free. The staff here isn't so friendly. I never get greeted. I often time walk round and round trying to find someone to help me and when I do, they seemed annoyed. Recently, I went in looking for a sample of the new MUFE Water Blend foundation. After a while of looking for help, finally found someone but she seemed annoyed that I was asking for a sample. The foundations were kept in back for some reason. She brought it out and without even looking at the color names, straight up told me that the colors available were too light for my skin tone. I told her I wear MUFE foundation all the time and told her my color. I looked through the bin by myself, found my color, got the sample and left. No thanks, I'm not going to make a purchase here to help you meet your sales. I rather go elsewhere. This Sephora is my least favorite one. I try to avoid it as much as possible. If you can, drive the extra mile to Mall of America Sephora, do it. The ladies there are so much nicer, friendlier, and more willing to help you. read more
