Upon further investigation, I learned how it all works post speaking with the staff member. First off, the pinball exterior machines are ran by a totally different company than Starcade and all those machines are .25 cents each. Starcade is stucked inside the former giant main restaurant of Keg and Case which offers unlimited gaming for $20. All the machines are set to free play after you pay the fee. There is a bar serving basic snacks such as chips, pizza and on tap local sodas. The liquor license was just recently obtained and the staff seems to think this will get rolling out within the next few months. I'm not a gamer, yet I can tell you lots of games exist vs. just pinball like the exterior. Inside Starcade, you will find both a main level and upstairs (where the former brewery was). It's dark, there are fun twinkle lights and LED signs. Starcade used to be located within Rosedale Mall so come give a warm welcome to them as they lay roots in Saint Paul! I look forward to returning and trying some games. It has a Can Can Wonderland feel but less complex. I'm very glad the building is getting used as it's a beautiful venue. Enjoy!

There are SO many games, and it's easy to lose track of time just walking around and trying everything. We went in the middle of the day for a day date, which was actually a really fun time to go. My biggest complaint was how many of the arcade games were broken or not working properly. When you're already paying a decent amount to get in, that was disappointing. It also kind of sucks that mini golf costs extra on top of admission. That being said, the mini golf course is definitely not your typical basic course. Some of the holes were a little lame, but most were really creative and cool, and it was probably one of the more unique parts of the experience. Overall, it's expensive, especially if you add mini golf, but if you go when you have plenty of time to hang out and play games for a few hours, you can definitely get your money's worth. It's a good spot to go on a double date, celebrate an occasion, take the kids out, etc. We loved the golf course! That was definitely the highlight. The app is so easy to use and you're even able to add other rentals for your time at SP on the app like the pickleball paddles and ball. The check in process was easy and our court was ready to use as soon as we walked in. On a side note it our very first time playing the sport and we read up on the instructions and just decided to have a good time. Other courts had experts for sure. We did take 1-2 breaks during the hour to grab water or a bathroom break. The cost was $20 for the rental of the court for an hour during a weekday morning. $5 each for the paddle rental and $3 for the ball rental.
