The lovely ladies at Lush were there to help me when I came in to pick out a present as part of a bachelorette party gift. My friends and I had discussed what we had in mind, so I came in with an idea of what I needed, but the employees enthusiastically described nearly each and every Bath Bomb and other bathtub time products; thus, I left with all that plus a bag of chips. Well, not really a bag of chips, but a decent amount more than I had originally intended to purchase. They have these lovely bandana sets with a romantic theme and they come with a little assortment of some of their best selling products. I ended up with mini versions of the Sex Bomb Bath Bomb, Soft Coeur Massage Bar, French Kiss Bubble Bath Bar and Lust Soap. It was all wrapped up in the bandana and included a paper sign that read "Do not disturb." You're also able to throw in other items (for an additional fee, of course), so I also put in a little tin of The Kiss Lip Gloss. I think this is a great option for those who have trouble making up their minds. Lush is rather spendy, but I was happily surprised that everything I bought stayed affordable. Lush really is fantastic. I'm personally hooked on their bath and bubble bombs. I appreciate that they forgo animal testing, support small-scale artisans, and skip all chemical preservatives. Not to mention that each shopping experience at a Lush store is an experience in itself! I always love the energy and excitement that Lush employees have, and I love trying their new products. But this visit didn't come equipped with this experience. A friend introduced me to LUSH about 10 years ago. I like its mission -- none of their products are tested on animals. I'm surprised that there aren't more locations in the Twin Cities. This location in S. Mpls feels just right and the workers seem to have quite lengthy answers for questions about LUSH's products. I don't use LUSH products often -- I might buy something once a year, or every two years. Massage bars and bath bombs make * wonderful * gifts. A friend bought me a blueberry face mask that I didn't like very much while I was in Los Angeles. An associate at this store told me that I could bring it in and exchange it for a different mask *even though the mask sitting in my fridge is several months old*. Vanessa said, "Doesn't matter! Bring it in and we'll exchange it for a different mask!" I don't know many cosmetic stores that would allow this, so I thought it was cool! The last time I came here, Vanessa helped me with a purchase. I liked how she was honest about not overusing products and "listening to what your body needs." (Some other LUSH locations make the mistake of trying to convince you to use their products everyday...and try to oversell!) Vanessa also mentioned that this location sponsors a lot of community events. I wanted to write a review for Andy, who went above and beyond for me. I had done an online-pickup order and when I came in wanted to get a few bath bombs for my son's birthday. He helped me find a few fun ones that my son would love and even gave us an extra bubble bar and bath bomb, plus shampoo samples! I'm a single mom, so coming here was already a treat, and this visit made me feel like a rockstar. My son loves the bubble bar and the bath bombs (I broke those up a bit to stretch over several baths)! Oof--You'd think my husband and I walked in coughing and sneezing for how poorly we were treated by the two ladies working at 12:00pm on 5/10. I understand there have to be covid guidelines at a store that involves touching/smelling but instead of explaining them to us they just watched and scolded every single move we made. What's more is they seemed to enjoy trying to make us feel like idiots...maybe find a different job if you hate customers? I picked out an entire gift set before deciding to just leave. The girl at the counter said "PEACE OUT" as I told them to forget my order. Visited this place while vacationing in Minnie. The staff were all incredibly friendly and helpful! Loved that they were attentive. I also appreciated being able to take sips samples with me for free. Hotel bar soap just plain sucks if you're washing more than hands. I love this location. I've had really good experiences every time I've been here in the past. So it's kinda sad that they're making some of the dumbest possible business decisions that will inevitably force them into shut down. I went there today with the intention of buying a bath bomb. The door was open but there was a table blocking the entrance. I tried to walk around said table and two employees walked up and told me that no customers were allowed in the store. I questioned this obviously and she insisted (kinda rudely) that the store was open but no one was allowed inside. ????? I left without buying anything Microeconomics 101: if people can't buy stuff from your store you can't make money. If you can't make money, you will go out of business. Fucking duh. Lush, I and many other people would love to support your business but you have to let people buy your shit. What's the point of having your store open and employees working if you won't let anyone buy anything? From the ashes of the Macy's locations that closed in the Twin Cities metro during 2012 comes the new, gorgeous, freestanding Lush at 50th and France! I am a longtime user of their skin care and hair care lines, and can't say enough about their quality and also their committment to keeping their sourcing as ethical as possible. Everything is vegetarian, and a great deal of their products are vegan, too. The location is snug between the Edina Theater and Raku Sushi. There is plenty of free parking in the ramps around 50th & France or the streets nearby - heaven for those wanting to avoid the parking nightmare that is the MOA (where the only other Lush is located). The layout of the shop is open and inviting, while still being packed with goodies. I believe the store is a newer design for Lush as well, and it has a more updated, upscale feel than the traditional layout. The staff is super helpful and pleasant, and gives suggestions on skin, hair, bath and body products without being overwhelming. I must say that as a total Lush junkie, this is one of the nicest shops I have visited; it's casual enough that I feel like I can get hyper and get way too in-depth chatty about products, yet I don't feel like I have people screaming in my face about how WACKY their products are. If you've never visited Lush before, this shop would be my recommendation over the MOA location. While both are nice, I feel like this location truly gives the customer the boutique-y, funky yet refined experience that Lush is known for. read more

Confession time! Back before Minnesota had Lush for sale (first in various Macy's and then in their own stand-alone stores) I used to plan vacations around where they were lucky enough to have Lush stores. I remember traipsing around Paris looking for their Lush store once upon a time ago, and finding it by smelling the store from a block away. I truly followed my nose to find Lush. This Lush is no exception - you can smell these delicious scents from the parking lot behind the building. I have some Lush staples that are always stocked in my bathroom - I Love Juicy (the ONLY shampoo I've used consistently for years), Ocean Salt when I need some moisturizing and more recently their No Drought dry shampoo. The staff here is always so lovely and excited about what they do. No joke - I have had employees nerd out with me over the paper catalog (Lush Times) on what things are on our toiletry wishlist. I can't buy all of my products here, which is the only reason it's not 5-stars across the board. Not all of their stuff "fits all", which makes sense because they design their products to target specific concerns, so there are some gaps sometimes. No bother, I'll get my face wash, perfumes and conditioners elsewhere. So I'm pretty sure any negative reviews of this location are now invalid because they were posted too long ago. Because the current sales staff is AMAZING! They are so friendly and helpful and really know the products!! They made sure to answer all of my questions, recommend products specific to my needs, and didn't talk down to me. Before stopping at this location for the first time, I had no idea how amazing lush products are and that they contain only natural ingredients, are eco-friendly, cruelty free, etc. But the sale staff really explained everything so well. Upon my second visit, I went to enter because I wanted a specific mask and unfortunately the shop was closed for a private party. However, a sales lady came out and asked me if there was anything specific I was looking for. I told her which mask and within about 30 seconds she came back with it and rang me up. On top of that, another salesperson (maybe manager) came out and apologized for being closed and gave me a free yummy smelling bubbly bar!! She also gave one to each of the other people who came up to the store hoping to stop in / even to the ones not purchasing anything. That is A+ customer service right there!! read more

Since there were none near me in Phoenix I was always too skeptical to blow a ton of money on something I hated. When we moved to Minneapolis and drove down 50th I spotted the first real Lush store I had ever seen and had to try it. When I walked in I was greeted right away by a very friendly lady who proceeded to tell me all about their products and help me pick out what suites me. Love Lush! I've been using various products from Lush for the last few years - shampoo, conditioner, bubble bars... the list keeps going. This location is the most convenient for me, despite the fact that 50th and France really isn't my regular stomping ground. The store is always clean and well stocked, it smells as great as any Lush, and the folks working here are so darn great. The employees are friendly, but not aggressive about it! Whenever I've had any questions on products or needed input when picking out something new to try, they're always on their A-game. Last time I was in, I was transitioning from Daddy-O to another shampoo as I'm not blonde anymore and one of the associates, an older employee with short silver hair, was so dang excited to talk about their products with me and give honest input on what she thought would work best. Not only did they take my phone number down wrong and give my party date to someone else, but when I went in to pay for the party the girl at the desk was incompetent, rude, and basically suggested that I gave them the wrong phone number suggesting that their error was my fault! But today I was needing a bath bomb and decided to brave the bad customer service to get a good product.. I walked in and was immediately welcomed into the store with a smile and eye contact I was helped right away and was asked questions. The difference was night and day to the point where I asked if management had changed and I was unsurprised when she said that yes it had in the last few months. This review is for this location only, not Lush. If you're not familiar with Lush, I would recommend visiting their website or a store location to enjoy the goodness. They've been adding back sulfates to all their products including products that never had any, and that's a turnoff for me, but I love many things there--figs and leaves soap is a winner!! Sadly, the brand has been steadily morphing over the years to include many, many more artificial colors, adding back talc which is on the WHO cancer list of course, and sulfates--which they claim are so necessary, yet they offered many products in the past that didn't contain them. At this location, I think Jeffrey is in charge. He's really sweet and has always been unbelievably helpful and knowledgeable as well as kind and generous on every visit. I adore him! There's a rotating staff of younger people who are always friendly and fun, and a woman with a shorter auburn bob who's been there a while and is also helpful, friendly, and generous. But, now we're coming to the problem. There's been an employee here for years who is extremely rude to everyone including me. I have long assumed due to her unique behavior that she was perhaps being employed as part of an outreach effort of some sort. We're talking about a late middle-aged, heavy set woman with long, gray hair. I include these descriptors not as insults but in order for management to identify her, as I expect her to be counseled and I await an apology. I walked in last Saturday during "crazy days" with a tiny dish of nearly gone sorbet. I asked a young woman right inside the door if I could have it in the store, and she said "of course." There were many sales people on board for crazy days and they all seemed to be standing right in front of me, smiling. About 10 seconds went by and this woman came barreling towards me and said in her typically very loud voice, "you can't have that in here." I looked a little stunned and the girl that just told me I could was wincing. She went on very loudly and making no sense. Verbatim, and loudly, this is what she said. "You can have that in here, you just can't eat it. We have a no eating policy. All our products are naked. You can have it you just can't eat it." This was all so loud, and all the customers as well as sales people present were squirming. Her verbiage was so puzzling I was embarrassed for her, and her contradiction of the young sales woman who had already said it was fine was embarrassing for that young woman. The whole thing was unbelievable. I went out front ands finished my three bites (in a dish, not a cone) of sorbet and examined the entire front of the store for this "no eating" policy. There are no such signs. I didn't buy anything that day, and without an apology from this employee, I never will again. The Mall of America store is close enough. read more

In fact the employees turned me away from buying a product due to the unfriendliness. I would rather buy online or go elsewhere then go back to this location with unfriendly staff. I went in to pick up an internet order today and also chose to browse around. They had me wash my hands which was fine and which I wanted to do anyway. A lot of the products are packed in sealed tubs, but many items are naked and without packaging, including bath bombs and massage bars. I went to smell one of the massage bars and couldn't smell it through my mask. I lowered my mask momentarily so I could smell it more, and the employee snatched the bar right out of my hands and carried it away like it was the filthiest thing, saying I wasn't allowed to do that. If your business does not want people touching or smelling naked BODY PRODUCTS, then put them all away like Nordstrom does and either announce no testers are available or to not touch them. He then proceeded to follow me and watch me silently the entire rest of the time I was in the store, staring at me while I looked at the shelves, from less than 6 feet away, mind you. I was so uncomfortable and left. I am a frontline healthcare worker and have been putting in 60+ hour work weeks at my hospital ever since the pandemic began and all I wanted was a nice smelling bath product to relax. I will never return to this location for sure, which is disappointing since I like Lush's overall message (ingredient transparency, recycling plastic tubs, charitable donations, environmentally friendly shipping packaging). read more

Horrible service and rude welcome. Very rude woman, older and white haired or blonde was very rude and intimidating. I would most definitely consider her a bully. I was at lunch once and I accidentally used the real product instead of a tester for a shampoo. I didn't even touch the shampoo I only picked it up. And this women started at me with rude insults and stating that there are testers for everything. So I was like okay it's fine I'll just go look at something else. Yet she kept annoying me and saying to use a tester and I hadn't even used anything else . She was horrible and rude, so I forgot about it. Then came back again today with my Grandma for shopping spree only to be insulted and intimidated by same old woman. My Grandma was appalled. We walked out.
