The customer service at this location is really bad. They are not welcoming and not helpful. They seem annoyed or rushed when helping you make a purchase. Several times I've also been paying while the cashier is totally ignoring me and talking to her other co-worker. I think that is plain rude. I only go here if I have to but Nordstrom is starting to carry everything I need. Not all the employees are bad, but it's hard to find someone really nice and willing to help. Especially when you're trying to pick make up which isn't easy! I only bother going in here to browse because I've pretty much boycotted buying here. read more

All I have to say is..I came in asking if they had the new Bare Minerals Matte foundation in my color, medium beige. I couldn't find it anywhere, and they said they were sold out. I asked a girl, who by the way was gossiping with her friend and just standing around doing nothing, if they possibly had it downstairs at the actual Bare Minerals store. She replied "No probably not, this is sold exclusively to Sephora at the moment, but you can come back and we'll get more in your color in mid-September." Riiight. I didn't believe her, so I double check the product to see if any of the signs/ads/labels said it was "exclusively for Sephora", which it didn't. Wow Sephora ladies, not only do MOST (not all) of your associates seem like they're never doing anything productive, and act like they're cool shit, but you're also willing to lie to your customer in order to recieve business for yourselves. If I was stupid and did in fact believe your lie, then yes you would have gotten business. But since I knew better, you have now made yourselves look bad and I will be telling my fellow Sephora shoppers about how you decide to be shady to earn a few bucks. You thought you benefited yourself, but in fact your plan has backfired. Now I am more inclined in getting my typical Urban Decay makeup at Ulta, and my Bare Minerals at the actual store, at least they aren't shady. =) read more

This review is dedicated to an employee who went above and beyond for me today.... I have been having the worst week ever! My sister dragged me out to the mall and I went - I had accidentally double purchased a scrub. I had my receipt (the only piece of paper from my Sephora bag) so what could go wrong? Well alot, considering that the paper was a stupid survey and not a receipt at all! I didn't want store credit- I wanted my card charged back- but this was not going to happen. This is the way my life has been going as of late- Not. Good. I was getting ready to leave to weep in frustration when I heard an angelic voice tell the cashier (whom I felt sorry for just for having to deal with the mess that is me), "Make an exception this once". I swear it was like being in a storm and off in the distance you see that lone sun ray pierce the clouds and the doom- that is what Chris was to me today- my sun ray in a storm. After the transaction was done, my sister went over to tell Chris how much of a difference he made in my day. Did he just shrug it off or say thanks and leave it? NO! He gave me and my sister samples. Go to Sephora for the cosmetics, but stay to experience the wonderful humanity that is Chris. To Sephora I say: take note and please hire more people like Chris because life is horrible but to have someone of this caliber who can change a day from hell into a heavenly intervention- is priceless. read more

Another excellent experience at Sephora- stopped into the mall, which was across from our hotel, to get coffee. Sephora had just opened so I stopped in to see if I could pick up a primer since mine was running low. The woman who helped me was really nice, I got my primer plus a different primer for my eyeshadow (my eye primer dries out up here in the desert so I was looking for silicone). I also found the NAKED eye shadow kit my friend had in NOLA that I thought was fabulous ($50 for 14 shades). So I was outta there for $125, which is about average for me :) . Love how they help you find what you need but don't pressure you to buy stuff you don't want. She picked up my cues well, and was very personable. That's why I love you, Sephora! read more

I don't shop here too often, but when I do it is to load up on whatever I need. I am on a mission. Being focused can either make or break your experience at Sephora, but particularly in those that are located within a mall. A mall with LOTS of teenagers who are simply playing and trolling for free samples. UGH! Combine that with the Mom's who think it is okay to wheel their toddler in to a small already crowded store in one of those lame mall buggies. Seriously? Where exactly do you think everyone else is supposed to go as you self righteously shove folks out of the way of your (walking age) kid in his stroller bus? So ... as you can see the annoyance at this Sephora is all about the patrons and not about the store for me. If the above annoyances are not around (i.e. I go mid-week) this is a nice Sephora - all the essentials, friendly and helpful staff. Not much more to ask for! read more

Alyssa rentas Gave me the best service of my life. I now have everything to be better than the average joe.

Totally the last time I ever go into this shop to try and buy anything. Normally I order online when they have their free shipping orders, but since I was at the mall I thought I'd pick up what I needed in the store. As soon as I step into the store, I have one sales associate trying to get me to sign up for their "Insiders" newsletter/offers. As soon as I finish filling that form out, I tell her what I'm looking for and she directs me where to go. When I get to my item, another associate gives me a long sales pitch about other skincare products. I tell her I'm not interested. I head to the cash register. There are two cashiers helping two customers. I stand behind one of the customers and after me another woman stands behind the other customer. The cashier then tells me there is ONE line only (there wasn't even a line until I got there) and tells me to stand behind the woman that came in after me. Still I remain calm since I am not in a rush and politely stand behind the other woman. When I get up to the cashier I hear another sales pitch about yet another product I have no interest in and then she tries to get me to sign up for a make up consultation for tomorrow. I came out of Sephora feeling like I most likely would have spent more money in the store had I just been let alone to browse without feeling harassed or like I was having to deal with a phone call soliciation. They made me WANT to leave. I suppose if you're the type that needs the attention and to be TOLD what products you need, what to wear, how to smell, than this is the place for you. Personally, I would rather stick to ordering their products online. read more

Sam was doing a makeover at the station closest to the door and was being bombarded by a constant flow of customers walking through the door with all kinds of questions to which she already had the correct answer. I need three very specific items that I knew nothing about for my wife and within minutes -- while simultaneously reloading the paper in a credit card scanner and delivering product to another customer at the register -- the items were in my hand and I was on my way to the checkout where the lovely Rayanne who had helped me at this location before got me out the door immediately. These ladies not only look great but are lightning fast super professional and friendly what a great customer experience. read more

Uggggh I hate this Sephora. The girls here are always rude, stuck up and unhelpful. Mind you I spend hundreds of dollars every single time I come in and I am very knowledgeable about makeup however if you don't come in with your "face beat" they don't even look your way and act like you are bothering them if you ask for help. I was just in there and the employees asked every customer around me if they needed help besides me. Then when I asked one simple question if they had anymore of a certain item in stock she acted as if I annoyed her. But she was asking other customers if they needed a color match, samples etc. This isn't the first time I had this experience at this location. I usually go down to the Sephora inside of JCPenney, the ladies there are always so helpful and friendly but unfortunately they don't have the full inventory like the storefront. read more

I frequently go to this Sephora since its the closes one to my area. And I never had anything bad to say about it, my experiences have always been good. And the employee's have always been the nicest I've encountered. However my experience yesterday changed that. I know I shouldn't dock stars just because of ONE employee. But I left there considering never coming back. read more

After I return this bronzer, which was opened and the sales rep handed to me without checking, I will never return to this Sephora. I walked in and asked for some help in my cheerful manner and the girl payed me her lip service while scanning my body up and down. Is this America's Next Top Model? I wasn't phased yet, UNTIL I waited around for assistance for 15 minutes. Finally some random girl came up to me and said, "what's up?" Her negative demeanor through me off. She ended up giving me the bronzer I was looking for but man, this girl had no knowledge of the brand what so ever. I asked if it contained Titanium Dioxide, the sunscreen based chemical and she laughed and said, "why would it contain metal?" .....? Seriously. Okay, I will be going to Bay Street from now on. Thanks Sephora Stoneridge, you ruined my experience with your company. read more

I have been to this location on a handful of occasions. First time, I was searching for the easiest / beginners tool for eye brows. I had really no idea what brand to use or what type of application I should try first. Lost staring at the generic sephora brand, a sales rep came up and asked me if I needed any help. I explained my situation and she knew exactly what to introduce me to. She showed and applied benefit "gimme brow" on me which has now become a part of my makeup routine. A-plus experience. Last time I was in, granted it was the Saturday before christmas, in search of a gift for my beauty junkie BFF. We had agreed on a strict $15 gift budget. I found a great sephora collection of eyeshadows! Score for reasonably priced holiday gifts. However, when I was in line for checkout-I saw a cute bare minerals kit in the same price range. I really didn't know what would be the better gift, so I brought them both to the register and asked the cashier what she thought. I wish I hadn't asked, she gave me attitude and didn't really seem interested in helping. I know that I was paying and was not expecting a full explanation of the benefits of each...but come on. Help a girl out on Xmas. Her attitude and reluctance to help put my review down 2 stars. That's bad customer service. read more

Great customer service. I came into the store to buy the Anastasia Dipbrow pomade and one of the workers matched me for the pomade. She also went ahead and got me what I thought was a brand new pomade. After leaving the mall, I open the box and uncap the pomade to see that it has been used. It was too late to return it because I live 30 minutes away. Rather upsetting. I hadn't bothered to check the Dipbrow when she had given it to me because I believed it was brand new an unused. Very disappointed. read more

I went in for a make over for a wedding at 1130 and was seen at 1130. She was on time and friendly. I had Sarah as my make up artist and I loved how professional and friendly she was. I showed her a picture of how I wanted my make up done because I'm not a fan of tons of make up on my face. She explained everything she was going to do and the products she used on me lasted the whole entire night. No touch ups the whole night!! I would defiantly come back and get my make up done there again. I did stay longer than 45 mins but it was all worth it!!! read more

I had a great experience here with Sandy. I couldn't fill up the other survey online, so she deserves a yelp review. The staff is all good but this trip she helped me shop and was so patient. With all the pigmentation etc on my face i really needed help. She went out of the way and spent a lot of time with me after i was assigned only 15 minutes. Very knowledgeable and very helpful. Thank you for all your help Sandy. read more

I love Sephora! I buy 90% of my make up here. They have so much to choose from. I saw a lot of workers organizing the store. Not one Person asked me if I needed help. Which I was really bummed about. I'm always looking for new suggestions. I had to ask someone to help me pick out a concealer for me. She was really nice and put it on for me. I love that I get points for shopping here. Which is why I really shop here in the first place. Your points add up quickly and there is a big variety of samples you can redeem your points for. Hopefully next time I go there will be more workers willing to help. read more

Okay, so this USED to be my favorite Sephora, until lately. I do still get greeted at the door and this one time, this girl went out her way to find a foundation shade for me and put it on me, that was awesome too. But lately if you don't look a certain way, you get overlooked. I do look young. And I sometimes have to get help by asking an associate who's just standing in a section just looking around. This isn't fun. The worse is I don't get samples for purchases anymore? I spend $80 and up on your products and you don't offer me anything? I had to ASK if I could get any samples and the lady looked near the register and was like, "you want this?" and dropped it in my bag. Hell, the Sephora in Union Square gives you samples for buying anything! This is the closest Sephora, but I think I'll start to go to Union Square more. I feel like customer service is slowly becoming a thing of the past in this store, sadly. read more

I'm a total makeup whore....ever since I was a preteen, I would try any new blush, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick or foundation that came on the market. My most recent purchase was a $15 battery-operated mascara brush that guaranteed "no-clump, beautiful lashes" (totally useless). But that doesn't stop me from looking for the latest and greatest products to boost me into superstar beautyhood. I was thrilled when Sephora first came to Stoneridge....no snotty makeup counter girls to deal with who would shame you into buying not only the lipstick but the pencil, sharpener and lip primer too. So....in theory, I love Sephora and the idea of being able to try on all the latest products in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. The reality is, their testers are shockingly grungy and un-hygenic (Hello! does anyone want to get staph infections??). There also seems to be alot of products MISSING from the tester trays. And who wants to keep seeing last season's colors when there are new ones to be seen at Nordstrom?? Another complaint....low inventory. More often than not, they are out of the products you actually WANT to buy. Do they ever go through and throw out products that have expired? I bought a Clarins moisturizer there that had most-definitely expired to the point that it was off-color and smelled quite nasty. And....while I appreciate the attempt at customer service ("do you need some help?" "do you need some help?"), it would be nice to actually GET some help when you want to purchase an item. 1 person at the cash register vs. 4 people on the floor asking "do you need some help?" means that someone needs to rethink the staffing strategy. read more

the only reason why I'm giving this Sephora 4/5 stars is because i Haven't been here too many times to compare other shopping experiences. BUT, the one time i came here a week and half before Christmas, expecting it be chaos, and to my pleasant surprise, Beth was super-helpful, super-patient, and super-knowledgeable (even talking about research she did on her own about facial types)! I was very pleased, especially, with the service that Beth put forth! I know, if I were to ever visit this store again, I would search for Beth's advice. Looking forward to coming here again! read more

Another A+ experience here for me. Luckily I was helped by the same awesome chick Kate that helped me out last time. She is a superstar when it comes to make up! So informative and friendly. She is the reason behind my new found obsession with make up. All of the other employees are friendly as well! Your best bet is to try to go there at a time when they aren't super packed, then you can get a more one on one experience and lots of help. read more

Love this location and service! I've gone here many many MANY times to find make up and each time the staff have been super helpful and friendly. I decided one day I wanted to change all my make up so I came here so I could browse all different brands instead of being influenced by one particular brand. It's incredible how hard working the staff is when they don't even get commission. I also love their return policy. It makes me more willing to buy and buy many products because I know if it doesn't work out, I can return it. I also love how we can make samples of products so you can try it out before buying! The samples are awesome and have helped me find products I like and end up buying. My only issues here are sometimes the staff will give different information on make up products. They should probably try to say the same information so it's not conflicting others info. Also, to make sure you're watching them while they're returning your things. One time they returned something of mine, but never credited me it. I didn't realize until later though. Overall, I love this sephora and all the staff. Well done sephora, this location and management is fantastic! read more

This review is particularly for Jackie at Stoneridge Mall's Sephora. I have been to numerous Sephoras and have never received such quality customer service. For once, I had someone to help me that wasn't just forcibly asking me to purchase something. She wasn't overly chatty, was straightforward and also wasn't pushy. Which is basically the perfect salesperson. Next time you're there, request Jackie! read more

Sephora is my beautiful, materialistic escape from reality. It's like taking a long walk through a cloud of French parfums, onto a rainbow of eye shadows and then bathing in a roll top bath filled with serums and beauty elixirs. However, this location has some super depressing remodelling going on at the moment. It's a fraction of the size and seems to have far less products than usual. I did receive a great suggestion for a new mascara which I now love. I was looking for something free from chemicals, non-clumping, non-flaking and long lasting. A big ask, but a lovely woman with amazing lashes got it right with her first recommendation. read more

Always love coming to this Sephora! The girls are all so kind and helpful and are always up for a conversation, which I love. The energy is always great and the atmosphere is never negative, it's just a great place. Also cuz it's Sephora and it's hard for a girl to be sad in there honestly. They're also super great about returns and exchanges! Extra shouts to my girls Sheenal, Ronnie, and Heeral! read more

The customer service was TERRIBLE. I'm not the type to write a review but it has come to the point where I had to. The people who work there are very unprofessional and need better training. Small location but bigger surprises. Always greeted at the door. Employees always ask if I need something. But at the sametime they give me my space so I can really look. Super bummed about my experience at the Stoneridge location. I recently (2 months ago) just moved from Oregon where I worked with Sephora for 2 years! I know the companies core values and how they want to pride themselves with great customer service!! I'm sad to even write this review but I was treated sooo not okay on 10/24. I asked for a sample from two women who were talking at the beauty studio after being ignored by the gentleman on the floor. I stood there for about 3 minutes waiting for them to get done with their personal conversation until one of them saw me, when I asked for the sample she passed me on to her co-worker that was standing with her. The women looked at me without a word and grabbed the item out of my hand literally taking my thumb (she actually pulled my hand) with her thats how hard it was!! I was so taken back and didn't even get an apology from her.. Super rude. WELL after browsing the store I go to check out and she is ringing me up, she says 2 words to me, skips over my points right to the total and sends me on my way... I'm not one to write a review specially a bad one for a company I love but common, do better.. Should have looked at her name but she was wearing the dress with all black vans and hair tied back that was dark, maybe some blonde in it?? Not okay and definitely not what Sephora stands for. read more

You are my sunshine!!! My only sunshine!!! You make me happy! When skies are blue! You never know, dear, how much I love you... *lalalallalalaa* I am always happy when I'm in Sephora. I see it as a woman's ultimate candy store. I literally say, "oooh" and "aahh" when I pass the rows and rows of beautiful and edible-looking make-up. I just can't get enough of them, and will prolly buy something even if I don't really need yet another container of eye shadow. One star off cuz sometimes because of all the selections, I tend to get overwhelmed! Also, some of the salespeople are a little snooty. Otherwise, I love this store!!! read more

I really adore this Sephora! The selections are great, and the sale associates are so accommodating! No evil glare when you want extra samples and/or to return/exchange products. P.S. Don't walk into the windows!! I always get paranoid that I'm going to walk into the window instead of through the opening into the store... Their storefront is all glass. It's a cramped location, because their square footage is pretty small and it's always fairly crowded. They carry pretty much everything I ever need for makeup: Bare Escentuals, Fresh, Nars, Smashbox, Stila.... and probably almost every fragrance known to man. They also carry skin care products like Murad, MD Formulations and Philosophy. If you can deal with the crowds and the limited walking space this is a great place to pick up your beauty needs (including makeup bags, travel kits, brushes, tweezers, etc etc) read more

AHHH a bounty of beauty. Another guilty pleasure store that I love to stroll through and get lost it. Its scary how fast you can blow your pocket book when you walk into Sephora, but worth it almost every time. My current Sephora obsession is the vanilla cupcake body butter. It smells delicious. I do recommend stopping in here first if your going to do a big shopping trip because the isles are a little cramped and if you had a lot of shopping loot it may make your shopping adventure a little awkward . I have always gotten great service from the staff. I read some of these past reviews and never gotten the rude snotty service other are buzzin about. read more

Sephora carries so many different brands and products that the place is packed. I have shopped at this Sephora since I was a teenager and I have always found what I was looking for there so no complaints from me about any of that. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and everything is lovely. My ONE ISSUE with this place is that if I'm spending $40 on foundation, I want to be able to sit down, take my time trying on a few different shades to make sure I find the right one. I don't want to be standing at the end of one of the racks, blocking one of only 2 walkways to the cash register and have to steal glimpses in the mirror while people are walking up to me and saying "excuse me!" so they can get by. And if you are carrying anything (a purse or a purchase from one of the other mall stores) you have to hang on to that stuff while testing the products. I guess I've been spoiled by Macy's but when I go to a make up counter there I get to relax, put my belongings down, take my time and make sure the purchase I'm making is really the right fit for me. I'm not saying I want to spend an hour there, just a quick 5-10 minutes where I can try the products I'm interested in, make sure they match my skin tone, etc, and then hand over my $$$ and be on my way. For items that I don't feel like I need to see in person before I buy, I usually order them online from Sephora, but when I make the trip out there from Alameda, I'd like to be able to make sure I'm buying the right product. read more

Kudos & 5 stars to this particular Sephora store for great customer service. I had an allergic reaction to a product I purchased almost a month ago. The reaction was so severe it caused me to seek medical attention. With no store receipt or original packaging, I went in today to see about returning the product. The staff was polite, understanding & helpful. The offered a refund or store credit for the full amount, only requesting a picture ID. I walked out with products I know will work for me and can guarantee I will shop here again in a heartbeat. read more
