SUCKTASTIC! That is how I would sum up the Stoneridge Mall Sephora. I went in to buy eyeliner. I am not a big makeup person, I use blush and a tinted lotion but I was going to a party and thought it would be fun to do my eyes. I walk in and the sales associate comes up and says. " What can I help you look for?".. as I was answering her question she walks away! In the middle of me speaking she walks away. I brush it off and continue looking for the eyeliner.. I didn't know if i wanted brown or black. Rude sales associate comes back.. doesn't apologize for so rudely walking away but says again, "Can I answer any questions?" I start to say that I don't know if I want brown or black and she walks away again!!! No excuse me, no hold on, nothing.. just walks away. I grab the black because I guess it is the most commonly used color and start walking to the register when the crazy shit comes back to "help" me... I just ignored her and went to the register.. It wasn't busy in the store, she wasn't helping a customer, she was bullshitting with coworkers. That's the worst part. I will never, ever, ever shop at Sephora again. If anyone from corporate gives a shit about these reviews and reads them I suggest someone train the employees on proper customer service skills. read more

so they send you coupons if you give them your email address. I got a $15 coupon if you spend at least $40. I spent $130. I did not like my mosturing gloves so i went to return them... they gave me back the discounted price... huh why??? because they took the $15 off the whole purchase so each item was discounted??? ok so i still spent way over $40 so should the $15 be taken of that, no its store policy to give you the discounted price... oh store policy=screw customer..... The customer service at this location is really bad. They are not welcoming and not helpful. They seem annoyed or rushed when helping you make a purchase. Several times I've also been paying while the cashier is totally ignoring me and talking to her other co-worker. I think that is plain rude. I only go here if I have to but Nordstrom is starting to carry everything I need. Not all the employees are bad, but it's hard to find someone really nice and willing to help. Especially when you're trying to pick make up which isn't easy! I only bother going in here to browse because I've pretty much boycotted buying here. read more

All I have to say is..I came in asking if they had the new Bare Minerals Matte foundation in my color, medium beige. I couldn't find it anywhere, and they said they were sold out. I asked a girl, who by the way was gossiping with her friend and just standing around doing nothing, if they possibly had it downstairs at the actual Bare Minerals store. She replied "No probably not, this is sold exclusively to Sephora at the moment, but you can come back and we'll get more in your color in mid-September." Riiight. I didn't believe her, so I double check the product to see if any of the signs/ads/labels said it was "exclusively for Sephora", which it didn't. Wow Sephora ladies, not only do MOST (not all) of your associates seem like they're never doing anything productive, and act like they're cool shit, but you're also willing to lie to your customer in order to recieve business for yourselves. If I was stupid and did in fact believe your lie, then yes you would have gotten business. But since I knew better, you have now made yourselves look bad and I will be telling my fellow Sephora shoppers about how you decide to be shady to earn a few bucks. You thought you benefited yourself, but in fact your plan has backfired. Now I am more inclined in getting my typical Urban Decay makeup at Ulta, and my Bare Minerals at the actual store, at least they aren't shady. =) read more

This review is dedicated to an employee who went above and beyond for me today.... I have been having the worst week ever! My sister dragged me out to the mall and I went - I had accidentally double purchased a scrub. I had my receipt (the only piece of paper from my Sephora bag) so what could go wrong? Well alot, considering that the paper was a stupid survey and not a receipt at all! I didn't want store credit- I wanted my card charged back- but this was not going to happen. This is the way my life has been going as of late- Not. Good. I was getting ready to leave to weep in frustration when I heard an angelic voice tell the cashier (whom I felt sorry for just for having to deal with the mess that is me), "Make an exception this once". I swear it was like being in a storm and off in the distance you see that lone sun ray pierce the clouds and the doom- that is what Chris was to me today- my sun ray in a storm. After the transaction was done, my sister went over to tell Chris how much of a difference he made in my day. Did he just shrug it off or say thanks and leave it? NO! He gave me and my sister samples. Go to Sephora for the cosmetics, but stay to experience the wonderful humanity that is Chris. To Sephora I say: take note and please hire more people like Chris because life is horrible but to have someone of this caliber who can change a day from hell into a heavenly intervention- is priceless. read more

Another excellent experience at Sephora- stopped into the mall, which was across from our hotel, to get coffee. Sephora had just opened so I stopped in to see if I could pick up a primer since mine was running low. The woman who helped me was really nice, I got my primer plus a different primer for my eyeshadow (my eye primer dries out up here in the desert so I was looking for silicone). I also found the NAKED eye shadow kit my friend had in NOLA that I thought was fabulous ($50 for 14 shades). So I was outta there for $125, which is about average for me :) . Love how they help you find what you need but don't pressure you to buy stuff you don't want. She picked up my cues well, and was very personable. That's why I love you, Sephora! read more

I don't shop here too often, but when I do it is to load up on whatever I need. I am on a mission. Being focused can either make or break your experience at Sephora, but particularly in those that are located within a mall. A mall with LOTS of teenagers who are simply playing and trolling for free samples. UGH! Combine that with the Mom's who think it is okay to wheel their toddler in to a small already crowded store in one of those lame mall buggies. Seriously? Where exactly do you think everyone else is supposed to go as you self righteously shove folks out of the way of your (walking age) kid in his stroller bus? So ... as you can see the annoyance at this Sephora is all about the patrons and not about the store for me. If the above annoyances are not around (i.e. I go mid-week) this is a nice Sephora - all the essentials, friendly and helpful staff. Not much more to ask for! read more

Totally the last time I ever go into this shop to try and buy anything. Normally I order online when they have their free shipping orders, but since I was at the mall I thought I'd pick up what I needed in the store. As soon as I step into the store, I have one sales associate trying to get me to sign up for their "Insiders" newsletter/offers. As soon as I finish filling that form out, I tell her what I'm looking for and she directs me where to go. When I get to my item, another associate gives me a long sales pitch about other skincare products. I tell her I'm not interested. I head to the cash register. There are two cashiers helping two customers. I stand behind one of the customers and after me another woman stands behind the other customer. The cashier then tells me there is ONE line only (there wasn't even a line until I got there) and tells me to stand behind the woman that came in after me. Still I remain calm since I am not in a rush and politely stand behind the other woman. When I get up to the cashier I hear another sales pitch about yet another product I have no interest in and then she tries to get me to sign up for a make up consultation for tomorrow. I came out of Sephora feeling like I most likely would have spent more money in the store had I just been let alone to browse without feeling harassed or like I was having to deal with a phone call soliciation. They made me WANT to leave. I suppose if you're the type that needs the attention and to be TOLD what products you need, what to wear, how to smell, than this is the place for you. Personally, I would rather stick to ordering their products online. read more

Sam was doing a makeover at the station closest to the door and was being bombarded by a constant flow of customers walking through the door with all kinds of questions to which she already had the correct answer. I need three very specific items that I knew nothing about for my wife and within minutes -- while simultaneously reloading the paper in a credit card scanner and delivering product to another customer at the register -- the items were in my hand and I was on my way to the checkout where the lovely Rayanne who had helped me at this location before got me out the door immediately. I have been to this location on a handful of occasions. First time, I was searching for the easiest / beginners tool for eye brows. I had really no idea what brand to use or what type of application I should try first. Lost staring at the generic sephora brand, a sales rep came up and asked me if I needed any help. I explained my situation and she knew exactly what to introduce me to. She showed and applied benefit "gimme brow" on me which has now become a part of my makeup routine. A-plus experience. Last time I was in, granted it was the Saturday before christmas, in search of a gift for my beauty junkie BFF. We had agreed on a strict $15 gift budget. I found a great sephora collection of eyeshadows! Score for reasonably priced holiday gifts. However, when I was in line for checkout-I saw a cute bare minerals kit in the same price range. I really didn't know what would be the better gift, so I brought them both to the register and asked the cashier what she thought. I wish I hadn't asked, she gave me attitude and didn't really seem interested in helping. I know that I was paying and was not expecting a full explanation of the benefits of each...but come on. Great customer service. I came into the store to buy the Anastasia Dipbrow pomade and one of the workers matched me for the pomade. She also went ahead and got me what I thought was a brand new pomade. After leaving the mall, I open the box and uncap the pomade to see that it has been used. It was too late to return it because I live 30 minutes away. Rather upsetting. I hadn't bothered to check the Dipbrow when she had given it to me because I believed it was brand new an unused. Super bummed about my experience at the Stoneridge location. I recently (2 months ago) just moved from Oregon where I worked with Sephora for 2 years! I know the companies core values and how they want to pride themselves with great customer service!! I'm sad to even write this review but I was treated sooo not okay on 10/24. I asked for a sample from two women who were talking at the beauty studio after being ignored by the gentleman on the floor. I stood there for about 3 minutes waiting for them to get done with their personal conversation until one of them saw me, when I asked for the sample she passed me on to her co-worker that was standing with her. The women looked at me without a word and grabbed the item out of my hand literally taking my thumb (she actually pulled my hand) with her thats how hard it was!! I was so taken back and didn't even get an apology from her.. Super rude. WELL after browsing the store I go to check out and she is ringing me up, she says 2 words to me, skips over my points right to the total and sends me on my way... I'm not one to write a review specially a bad one for a company I love but common, do better.. Should have looked at her name but she was wearing the dress with all black vans and hair tied back that was dark, maybe some blonde in it?? I love Sephora! I buy 90% of my make up here. They have so much to choose from. I saw a lot of workers organizing the store. Not one Person asked me if I needed help. Which I was really bummed about. I'm always looking for new suggestions. I had to ask someone to help me pick out a concealer for me. She was really nice and put it on for me. I love that I get points for shopping here. Which is why I really shop here in the first place. Your points add up quickly and there is a big variety of samples you can redeem your points for. Hopefully next time I go there will be more workers willing to help. read more

BUT, the one time i came here a week and half before Christmas, expecting it be chaos, and to my pleasant surprise, Beth was super-helpful, super-patient, and super-knowledgeable (even talking about research she did on her own about facial types)! I was very pleased, especially, with the service that Beth put forth! I know, if I were to ever visit this store again, I would search for Beth's advice. Okay, so this USED to be my favorite Sephora, until lately. I do still get greeted at the door and this one time, this girl went out her way to find a foundation shade for me and put it on me, that was awesome too. But lately if you don't look a certain way, you get overlooked. I do look young. And I sometimes have to get help by asking an associate who's just standing in a section just looking around. This isn't fun. The worse is I don't get samples for purchases anymore? I spend $80 and up on your products and you don't offer me anything? I had to ASK if I could get any samples and the lady looked near the register and was like, "you want this?" and dropped it in my bag. Hell, the Sephora in Union Square gives you samples for buying anything! This is the closest Sephora, but I think I'll start to go to Union Square more. I feel like customer service is slowly becoming a thing of the past in this store, sadly. read more

I'm a total makeup whore....ever since I was a preteen, I would try any new blush, eyeliner, mascara, lipstick or foundation that came on the market. My most recent purchase was a $15 battery-operated mascara brush that guaranteed "no-clump, beautiful lashes" (totally useless). But that doesn't stop me from looking for the latest and greatest products to boost me into superstar beautyhood. I was thrilled when Sephora first came to Stoneridge....no snotty makeup counter girls to deal with who would shame you into buying not only the lipstick but the pencil, sharpener and lip primer too. So....in theory, I love Sephora and the idea of being able to try on all the latest products in a relaxed, no-pressure environment. The reality is, their testers are shockingly grungy and un-hygenic (Hello! does anyone want to get staph infections??). There also seems to be alot of products MISSING from the tester trays. And who wants to keep seeing last season's colors when there are new ones to be seen at Nordstrom?? Another complaint....low inventory. More often than not, they are out of the products you actually WANT to buy. Do they ever go through and throw out products that have expired? I bought a Clarins moisturizer there that had most-definitely expired to the point that it was off-color and smelled quite nasty. And....while I appreciate the attempt at customer service ("do you need some help?" "do you need some help?"), it would be nice to actually GET some help when you want to purchase an item. 1 person at the cash register vs. 4 people on the floor asking "do you need some help?" means that someone needs to rethink the staffing strategy. read more

Love this location and service! I've gone here many many MANY times to find make up and each time the staff have been super helpful and friendly. I decided one day I wanted to change all my make up so I came here so I could browse all different brands instead of being influenced by one particular brand. It's incredible how hard working the staff is when they don't even get commission. I also love their return policy. It makes me more willing to buy and buy many products because I know if it doesn't work out, I can return it. I also love how we can make samples of products so you can try it out before buying! The samples are awesome and have helped me find products I like and end up buying. My only issues here are sometimes the staff will give different information on make up products. They should probably try to say the same information so it's not conflicting others info. Also, to make sure you're watching them while they're returning your things. One time they returned something of mine, but never credited me it. I didn't realize until later though. Overall, I love this sephora and all the staff. My favorite Sephora! Everyone is always so helpful. I can't think of a time I haven't been greeted or helped when I come in. My last experience here was great. I was helped by a very nice blonde girl with a cute accent, but didn't get her name. She set me up with Alyssa who was also very nice and knowledgeable. I had like 1000 questions and concerns since I'm a total make-up dummy and Alyssa had an answer along with advice to every single one of my questions. Sephora is my beautiful, materialistic escape from reality. It's like taking a long walk through a cloud of French parfums, onto a rainbow of eye shadows and then bathing in a roll top bath filled with serums and beauty elixirs. However, this location has some super depressing remodelling going on at the moment. It's a fraction of the size and seems to have far less products than usual. I did receive a great suggestion for a new mascara which I now love. I was looking for something free from chemicals, non-clumping, non-flaking and long lasting. I was Christmas shopping with my boyfriend when a African/Nigerian man and two mall security walked up to me. Then the Sephora worker started telling me to give him back his items that I stole. I was standing there looking confused because I didn't steal ANYTHING from that store!!! He told me he seen me on his cameras putting the lipgloss in my pockets and to empty my pockets. So I emptied my pockets to show him that I didn't take anything and that the items in my pockets were items not from Sephora. Once he saw that I didn't put anything in my pocket, he walks over to the area and we all follow...for him to point at the lipglosses I was looking at and said he seen me steal this lipgloss. At this point I'm pissed off and I was being embarrassed and laughed at by what seems like everyone in the store, and I start to raise my voice, I'm constantly telling him yes I was looking this lipstick but I did not steal anything!!!!! At this point my boyfriend asked me am I positive I didn't steal anything and I told him yes I'm sure!!! So, he starts to go off on the man that's accusing me of stealing as well. We're constantly asking him to run back the camera and show us where he saw me stealing but he would not do that. Then he told me well if I didn't steal to let him check my purse. At first I kept saying no because I had my boyfriends gift in my purse and I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Once he kept accusing me of still stealing something I didn't steal I told him that I wouldn't let him go threw my purse but I would go threw it myself and show him that I didn't steal anything. I even told the security officers I would do that as well just to prove my innocence. So they asked the man what did he want to do because they had to go to apple. I kept on insisting that he run the cameras back and for me to go threw my purse but he said no and to just get out of his store. I definitely took this up with corporate, I was humiliated in front of many people and wrongfully accused!!!!!!!! Tatcha products rock!!! Ask for Dawn S. if you want great skincare and want to fix dark under-eye circles! I wanted to write a review because I was super impressed! I have been trying everything for dark circles under my eyes, and uneven textured skin. I went to Sephora as usual, to try something else, even though it feels like I have tried everything! Dawn took a lot of time with me to try different things, and explained what I was doing that made it worse. I used and purchased 3 products by Tatcha... and I seriously will not go back to anything else! The under Luminous eye serum and Pearl cream treatment/underlight is beyond amazing! I don't even use regular concealer anymore! The third product the Violet-C brightening serum for the face. Truly amazing stuff, and I use it on my neck and hands too! When I walked through the doors it was chaotic but even though it was chaotic every employee was so kind. I even have a hug to one of them because of how nice they were! Thank you again to everyone!
