My favorite Sephora! Everyone is always so helpful. I can't think of a time I haven't been greeted or helped when I come in. My last experience here was great. I was helped by a very nice blonde girl with a cute accent, but didn't get her name. She set me up with Alyssa who was also very nice and knowledgeable. I had like 1000 questions and concerns since I'm a total make-up dummy and Alyssa had an answer along with advice to every single one of my questions. She truly went above and beyond when it came to helping me find the perfect foundation and primer which I am super thankful for! read more

I was Christmas shopping with my boyfriend when a African/Nigerian man and two mall security walked up to me. Then the Sephora worker started telling me to give him back his items that I stole. I was standing there looking confused because I didn't steal ANYTHING from that store!!! He told me he seen me on his cameras putting the lipgloss in my pockets and to empty my pockets. So I emptied my pockets to show him that I didn't take anything and that the items in my pockets were items not from Sephora. Once he saw that I didn't put anything in my pocket, he walks over to the area and we all follow...for him to point at the lipglosses I was looking at and said he seen me steal this lipgloss. At this point I'm pissed off and I was being embarrassed and laughed at by what seems like everyone in the store, and I start to raise my voice, I'm constantly telling him yes I was looking this lipstick but I did not steal anything!!!!! At this point my boyfriend asked me am I positive I didn't steal anything and I told him yes I'm sure!!! So, he starts to go off on the man that's accusing me of stealing as well. We're constantly asking him to run back the camera and show us where he saw me stealing but he would not do that. Then he told me well if I didn't steal to let him check my purse. At first I kept saying no because I had my boyfriends gift in my purse and I didn't want to ruin the surprise. Once he kept accusing me of still stealing something I didn't steal I told him that I wouldn't let him go threw my purse but I would go threw it myself and show him that I didn't steal anything. I even told the security officers I would do that as well just to prove my innocence. So they asked the man what did he want to do because they had to go to apple. I kept on insisting that he run the cameras back and for me to go threw my purse but he said no and to just get out of his store. I definitely took this up with corporate, I was humiliated in front of many people and wrongfully accused!!!!!!!! I definitely hate that Pleasanton Sephora after today, almost got me ready to say F every single Sephora!!!!!!!!! read more

My favorite Sephora location by far! The San Francisco store is nice but too big for my taste.. Zion is the most helpful and friendly associate that works there and she has a very positive aura about her, she made my experience all the much better! This store offers a huge range of brands as far as make up, perfume, and skin products goes. Whatever it is that you're looking for, they probably carry it! My favorite lines from this store are Nars, Makeup Forever, Urban Decay, Stila, and Sephora Brand. read more

My recent experiences here have made me think more of this smaller Sephora store. I wish it was bigger and had more, but I can always order online. I got the best service today. I went in to get a flat iron. They are expensive. Like, 250 bucks expensive. So I asked a lot of questions, nobody got fed up with me, the associate researched my questions online if she didn't know the answer, she was friendly, gave me samples of a product I might like, and was a pleasure to work with. I wish I could remember her name, she has vibrant pink hair. I spent a lot of money, bought some perfume and hair products too. I spent the same as I would have on Amazon, but I got great service and a lot of helpful advice. I'm impressed. read more

Their customer service wasn't anything spectacular, but they did see I was looking around and try! I can say that their lack of brands did turn me off a bit, but then I have extremely high expectations regarding Sephora after seeing the amazing quality of service and items for sale at the New York Times Square Sephora. Decent. I'll be back. read more

Tatcha products rock!!! Ask for Dawn S. if you want great skincare and want to fix dark under-eye circles! I wanted to write a review because I was super impressed! I have been trying everything for dark circles under my eyes, and uneven textured skin. I went to Sephora as usual, to try something else, even though it feels like I have tried everything! Dawn took a lot of time with me to try different things, and explained what I was doing that made it worse. I used and purchased 3 products by Tatcha... and I seriously will not go back to anything else! The under Luminous eye serum and Pearl cream treatment/underlight is beyond amazing! I don't even use regular concealer anymore! The third product the Violet-C brightening serum for the face. Truly amazing stuff, and I use it on my neck and hands too! Thanks Dawn for taking all that time and seriously changing my life with this new under eye regimen I have. Thank you Tatcha for making amazing products! I will be back for more! -Sheli Z- read more

A guy review. I come here with the wife. This places makes her happy. True, if you're a single, unattached guy in his 20's this place has little use for you. They do have shelves for men, including skin care products that keep your forty-something face from looking sixty-something. The Sephora card keeps track of your purchases and you get a (small) gift on your birthdays. Looking through the reviews, the place caters best to those who know what they want coming in. Why 3-stars, not 4 or 5? I dunno. I've been to posh Sephora on the strip of Vegas. That would be a 4-star, no higher since it didn't have what the wife was looking for. Sephora-Stoneridge is small yet decent and the wife can find what she wants there. read more

Staff is a bit scattered, but once you get their attention they are so helpful and opinionated, which is a great thing! I love to get the perk facial, which is free when you purchase $75 of skincare! Stop rearranging the store!! Please! I don't like to ask where the stuff is! Okay other than that how can you not like sephora?? I love to buy makeup even if I hardly wear it - it's just so much fun. I also have to have at least 10 different perfumes to pick from every day so they keep me stocked. The best part though is that they stock Tend Skin for my husbo! Thank you! read more

I went into Sephora tonight because I needed a new foundation and highlight. I walked around for like 10 minutes looking at brands my friends recommended and just other popular ones I have heard of. I felt like a lost puppy because I usually use Estée Lauder but lately I feel like it hasn't been doing it for me. Anyway, a very nice female worker with black hair came up to me and asked if I needed anything. I am so thankful for her help because I had no idea what I was looking for and she shared all her favorite products with me. I wish I got her name so she could know how grateful I am for all her help! I can't wait to try these new products. read more

I was on a mission to find the perfect dark red lipstick!! I must have looked crazed because I was almost running down the aisles in every makeup aisle in stoneridge! Finally I come barreling through sephora and this adorable super chic black girl helped me out during my rampage!! I wish I got her name!! ARGH!!! She showed me 10 different lipsticks and they were close but not the one!! But then she suggested her lipstick that she was wearing!! HAHAH and it was awesome!! It was a black orchid looking color by Kat Von D.. and it was hot!! I was going to a 1920's party and she totally completed my look!! I still add a few dots of it under my brighter reds to richen them up! It is fabulous! I must go back to get her name!! This review would be 5 stars if they would've had some better reds!!! read more

I went in for a custom makeover and was helped by Marina. She was amazing. I feel like she really listened and was attentive to my makeup and skin care needs. I made it a little challenging for her because I have such sensitive skin. She knew just the products to try and recommend. Even when I would was interested in a product, she made sure to check if it would be safe for my skin. I really enjoyed my experience and left feeling beautiful. The only critique I have is that there should be a digital list sent to you with the products that we used, along with pricing. I spent a lot more than I intended because I wasn't aware of the product prices until the end. Regardless, I left happy with a new beauty routine and products I feel are of good quality. And they are ok to use on my sensitive skin. Marina was the best, from start to finish. Thank you! P.S. I would also like to thank Jaenna. She was a big help last week I had to go in because my VIB status wasn't updated. She called corporate and made me feel like it was all taken care of. I really appreciate her time and care. read more

I stopped in to Sephora on Black Friday, and even though even though the store was incredibly busy, Lauren C. was a huge help. I told her my skincare concerns and that I was looking for some new products. She led me to the Drunk Elephant display and explained what they contained, which ones would work best for my concerns, how to use them, etc. She gave me samples and told me to let her know if I needed anything else. She has customer service down pat, even on one of the most stressful days for those who work in retail. Thanks, Lauren C.! read more

Store was clean and well-stocked but only 2 stars because I was in the store for over 30 minutes looking for a specific item and not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help and I couldn't ask anyone because honestly, I couldn't tell who worked there or who was a customer. Needless to say, I left empty handed and disappointed and bought what I needed on-line. read more

And she just rolled her eyes at me and scoffed. What a bitch. The other employees are always nice but this lady was so rude. I was being so polite to her but she just gave me attitude. Sad!!!! I was quite disappointed in the customer service I experience at this location. It wasn't a pleasant experience I was offered by the way I was being spoken to as a customer. I am a 15 year old girl and I asked my mom to use her yelp because this has upset me and bothered me so much that I needed to write a review. While attempting to use my gift card the cashier accused me of trying to run a scam? I don't even really know what running a scam means. She could have explained to me how a gift card is used but instead she accused me of something illegal. I didn't have a parent there to help me and she persisted in telling me I was trying to scam and lie. I left in tears not really knowing what I even did. I don't think Sephora has a policy of ADULTS harassing children but this was my experience at this location. I will never go back here. read more

Recently went to the VIB holiday event and it seemed as if the staff wasn't prepared for this event. They didn't even check anyone in at the entrance. Stoneridge mall is one of our favorite malls to shop. My wife and I go out of our way to travel there to visit Sephora and MAC (MACboth in Macy's and the dedicated store). The employees are always helpful and mostly happy and pleasant. Of course Sephora is more expensive than other cosmetic stores, but Sephora sells very high quality products. We only use Sephora or OPI nail polish and frankly, our cosmetics are split between Sephora and MAC. If there is a downside to this particular Sephora, it's because the place is always PACKED! I mean really packed! While there is always a line to check out, the cashiers always do their best to keep the line moving. I highly recommend any Sephora. read more

Hey my younger cousin and I were in the store looking around today and one of the employees falsely accused her of attempting to steal an Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown. We're both very confused and vexed by this, I was overhearing the employee call mall security through her headpiece. Really weird because she has the money for it and was gonna buy it? I've been going to this mall for years and no explanation told her "Get out of my store" and "I know you did it, just put it back and get out of my store" *edit as of 2018* Now that I've worked in retail for a good year, I look back and I just have to say that was pretty unprofessional of the employee to handle the situation. I'm shocked that Sephora employees are allowed to confront and accuse customers just like that?! I remember the scene just like it was yesterday, and sure the employee had mall security on walkie talkie. I can empathize with the fact that they work in a mall and teenagers are a big demographic. But that scene was overdramatic for the employee to stir up and embarrassing.. read more

I highly do no like thi Sephora store specifically because of the store manager or supervisor whatever she is. I've went to many Sephora and other makeup stores and I have not been treated like this. I was trying a lipstick on and the lady literally just grabbed the lipstick from me and said that they have to throw it away now?? She needs to learn how to deal with customer service because I had a friend that had a similar problem. She literally watches over and follows you everywhere around the store. No more shopping there for me :) the ladies at the Jc penny Sephora are much more friendly and know how to deal with customers. read more

I'm not usually one to complain about stores but..honestly, every time I go to this Sephora, I feel like some of the people that work there would give me snobby looks. The thing that really made me mad and having to write this review is when I tried to return something. I bought these face pads that were suppose to help my face with dark spots. It says to use two a day. Ok...so I used a couple for a couple of days and it made my face really greasy. I tried returning it. The snobby cashier chick goes, you used too much of the product. Another older lady goes, well....you can return it if you've used one or maybe two. Uh...I dont think using a product once or twice would give me results! That's not what bugged me...the thing that bugged me was she pokes her nasty arse fingers into the pad and tells me..oh, sorry, you can't return it. UHM! ok...Seriously older lady? You poke your grimy fingers into the pad...and tell me i can't return it?? I wouldn't have been this p.oed if she didn't poke the product that I can't return and have to give to my mom to use. Sorry Sephora of Dublin, train your employees please. Thanks. I'll try going to Ulta instead. Oh...and please don't have the return policy of.."if customer's dissatisfy, you can return." Cause that's bull. read more

Today has to be the worst experience I've ever had at any sephora store. I will not be shopping at this location again and here's why: When my husband and I entered the store, we were greeted, which was a good thing. Then I proceeded to check out & swatch the new YSL foundation. Out of nowhere, this older female, probably in her late 30's or early 40's in a juicy suit started looking at the same foundation that I was. It wasn't a big deal, but dang she was really in my space. Who does that? Doesn't say excuse me or wait her turn or anything closely resembling something a civilized person would do. It's equivalent to when you're shopping in a clothing store and you're going through racks of clothes and another person is going through the same exact section you are...literally reaching over you trying to grab something that catches their eye. It's awkward and weird, as if they didn't have any shopping etiquette or something. Anyway, again, not a big deal because it's not Sephora's fault that the old lady wasn't aware of such things. But what made it worse was that the sephora associate who saw me looking at the foundation first (She was standing behind me stocking or fiddling around with stuff, yet she was faced towards my back) decided to ask the older lady if she needed help being color matched. At this point, both ladies were taking over the small space of where the foundation was located so I said, "Oh excuse me, I guess I'll wait." This was not the same associate that greeted us btw. I wish I had looked at this associate's name tag so that I could include it in this review, but she had reddish brown hair and was a tad on the plump side. Did she not offer to help because I look like I'm 15? Is it because I'm not carrying a Louis Vuitton bag?Or was it because I didn't have massive amounts of clown makeup on my face? I was dressed appropriately and ok, so I didn't have a Louis Vuitton bag, but it was Gucci. I felt discriminated against and made to feel like my money was not good enough. All I really wanted was a few samples for my sister because she was so excited to try YSL's new foundation since she is an avid Chanel user. Even after the Juicy Lady left, the Sephora worker did not offer to help. She saw my standing there looking at the foundation. She was right next to me. I was not able to get samples. It was more like I didn't want to anymore. This place left a bad taste in my mouth. I exchanged my products and left. After today's experience, I will never shop at this location again. I'd rather drive into the city or even visit the one in Modesto. It's such a shame because I love Sephora's wide range of products and their return and exchange policies. But the customer service is always hit or miss. If you don't look a certain way, you will not be helped. What a shame. read more

This is like the Wal-Mart of the beauty industry. In that sense... the service is hit or miss (but err... mainly MISS) though that's not why we come here IS IT LADIES? the selection is spotty and the experience, ultimately, is a TOTAL DRAG [queen] I hate Wal-Mart, and avoid it like the PLAGUE. If I ever have to go, I throw a complete, uncontrollable temper tantrum. Something about the lighting and the miserable people working (and shopping) there. I think? So I also avoid any place that makes me feel like I'm at Wal-Mart, including Sephora. But sometimes Sephora has really cool stuff! And it might be nice, for some [crazy] people, to have so much in one place. However, I prefer service and quality over massive, dizzying quantity. In their defense, they have been known to carry limited edition fragrances that are sold out elsewhere, and it is super duper fun to be able to try on EVERYTHING, from brow pens to nail polish, but the stores are pretty grimey, ill-staffed, and every time I walk in I'm completely overwhelmed by the fluorescent lighting and discount store layout. AND I'm completely underwhelmed by the staff's lack of service, professionalism, or anything useful to say. So I go here sometimes, IF I HAVE TO, but when I do I can't wait to leave. And I hate when my best friend tells me, "Sephora has it," because that almost always means I'll be going to Sephora soon. I've recently been trying and quickly returning a slew of Anastasia products, and then I had a slight issue with my train case purchase, so I've been dealing with the ladies at Sephora a little more than usual. Usual being never before. For Anasatsia, OK they have the entire line, kudos, though it's not my thing. For the train case, really, they sold out of like 10 in one weekend, so when I changed my mind on the color, I bought on a Friday, on Monday I was all of a sudden limited to two instead of five options. Now the color I exchanged for has a damaged part, so I must go yet again TO SEPHORA!!!! so they can, "see what we can do for you." What does that mean? You're going to see what you can do for me? Is this the mafia? Are they going to swap out my damaged part for another, future purchaser's inferior product? Are they going to give me the dirty display's part? Golly. That statement was so misleading. I just hope I don't get the run around from someone not as laid back as the girl who answered the phone today when I go back TOMORROW with *only* my damaged part. Because I'm not lugging that big thing full of makeup to the mall! So... This experience completely epitomizes my frustrations and concerns of Sephora's "service" and "training." I knew they weren't a REAL store. So on a lighter note, when I went in today in flip-flops with hair flying everywhere, everyone was so nice to me... I got treated like never before! It must have been the manager who did my exchange because she actually had an opinion on which train case I should buy, because she HAD THEM ALL. Why did it take 5 visits to find her?! LOVE! Note to self: dress DOWN when going to Sephora. They do not respond well to the seemingly pretentious. Ehh... I think I'll continue to stick to nearby Nordstrom for *pleasant* beauty splurges! And you should, too. NORDSTROM. They don't just carry everything that sells, they carry high quality lines that they back up completely with a hassle free customer satisfaction guarantee. NORDTROM. Where employees SMILE. NORDSTROM. Where you'll be happy. NORDSTROM. Go there now. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would but based on the star scale. I want to be as accurate as possible. I have experienced better especially being a rouge member. I don't particularly care for this location. For starters this store is extremely small, super tight, hardly any move around space, imagine the holidays you will have to inch your way around the store. Secondly the Employees are a bust with the exception of a few. The majority know absolutely nothing about their products and some don't even know how to pronounce the brands. I mean I get it everyone needs a job but to work for a company like Sephora you expect employees with knowledge of beauty, ambition and passion for cosmetology. With that being said I wouldn't get my make up done here (very Amateur). The Managers are even worse you should never have to rely on your associates to tell you how to do your job. Unprofessional. It's not all bad this place does have its perks. The clearance section is to die for. It's so much to choose from and they always have more stock in the back. One of the good things :) read more

The associates are rude and when I complained to a manager, she claimed that she would get back to me. It's been almost a week and I'm still waiting for her to call me back. Usually it's typical that they have samples out, however I couldn't find the sample but found the color I saw I wanted from their website. Going to open it to double check that I found the correct color, an associate came over and snatched it out of my hand as if I was going to steal. She then went on to ask me "did you need help with something?" Uh yes, actually I wanted to purchase the lipstick you so rudely took from me. She then proceeded to watch me closely as I walked over to the register. As someone who frequents sephora (I'm a "VIB") I've never been so rudely treated in any establishment. It was completely and totally disrespectful. Then the manager proceeded to do nothing after I complained to her. At this point, I plan on calling back and asking for the district manager. Terrible store, just make the trip to Emeryville, they're a lot more welcoming and actually helpful. read more

I had herd about the store and like all girls I love make up and thought shopping there would be fun but before I could even step threw the door the employees were wispering on their head phones and rather than asking if I needed any help I was followed and not discreetly, one of the two employees were practicly breething down my neck, (in a store full of peopl two employees are watching me) I was so hurt and felt so bad litterally every step I took she took. I went their to shop and enjoy myself and not to be humiliated and made a fool of. I wasn't hollding a big bag or acting suspicious I have my own business I work hard I am not a thief. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I came here with my mother seeing as she wanted to treat herself, and splurge on makeup. We had a simple question that ended up becoming a goose chase - the employees kept sending us back n forth to one another. Not one of them could answer a simple question and were giving us conflicting answers. All we asked was to get color-matched. One of the employee said they didn't have the machine, the other said the results aren't accurate (trying to avoid helping us), and the third employee said they had it but referred us back to the first employee to help us (who said they didn't have it). I don't understand why they wouldn't do their job and just help us. Not only were we exhausted, but it was quite an embarrassing experience. We have never felt so belittled and disrespected. SEPHORA. I am torn about this review. I always leave looking like a babe, but at the same time I also feel ripped the fuck off. Could I have done without a $24 nude Nars lip pencil that leaves my kisser soft, velvety, and full? Probably. A basic brown shadow for $32? ... maybe I'll put that back. How about that Sephora brand liquid copper eye liner that makes my eyes sparkle like gems? NO WAY! I love this stuff.
