Don't walk into the windows!! I always get paranoid that I'm going to walk into the window instead of through the opening into the store... Their storefront is all glass. It's a cramped location, because their square footage is pretty small and it's always fairly crowded. They carry pretty much everything I ever need for makeup: Bare Escentuals, Fresh, Nars, Smashbox, Stila.... and probably almost every fragrance known to man. They also carry skin care products like Murad, MD Formulations and Philosophy. If you can deal with the crowds and the limited walking space this is a great place to pick up your beauty needs (including makeup bags, travel kits, brushes, tweezers, etc etc) read more

AHHH a bounty of beauty. Another guilty pleasure store that I love to stroll through and get lost it. Its scary how fast you can blow your pocket book when you walk into Sephora, but worth it almost every time. My current Sephora obsession is the vanilla cupcake body butter. It smells delicious. I do recommend stopping in here first if your going to do a big shopping trip because the isles are a little cramped and if you had a lot of shopping loot it may make your shopping adventure a little awkward . I stopped in to Sephora on Black Friday, and even though even though the store was incredibly busy, Lauren C. was a huge help. I told her my skincare concerns and that I was looking for some new products. She led me to the Drunk Elephant display and explained what they contained, which ones would work best for my concerns, how to use them, etc. She gave me samples and told me to let her know if I needed anything else. Kudos & 5 stars to this particular Sephora store for great customer service. I had an allergic reaction to a product I purchased almost a month ago. The reaction was so severe it caused me to seek medical attention. With no store receipt or original packaging, I went in today to see about returning the product. The staff was polite, understanding & helpful. The offered a refund or store credit for the full amount, only requesting a picture ID. I walked out with products I know will work for me and can guarantee I will shop here again in a heartbeat. read more

Sephora carries so many different brands and products that the place is packed. I have shopped at this Sephora since I was a teenager and I have always found what I was looking for there so no complaints from me about any of that. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and everything is lovely. My ONE ISSUE with this place is that if I'm spending $40 on foundation, I want to be able to sit down, take my time trying on a few different shades to make sure I find the right one. I don't want to be standing at the end of one of the racks, blocking one of only 2 walkways to the cash register and have to steal glimpses in the mirror while people are walking up to me and saying "excuse me!" so they can get by. And if you are carrying anything (a purse or a purchase from one of the other mall stores) you have to hang on to that stuff while testing the products. I guess I've been spoiled by Macy's but when I go to a make up counter there I get to relax, put my belongings down, take my time and make sure the purchase I'm making is really the right fit for me. I'm not saying I want to spend an hour there, just a quick 5-10 minutes where I can try the products I'm interested in, make sure they match my skin tone, etc, and then hand over my $$$ and be on my way. For items that I don't feel like I need to see in person before I buy, I usually order them online from Sephora, but when I make the trip out there from Alameda, I'd like to be able to make sure I'm buying the right product. read more

Store was clean and well-stocked but only 2 stars because I was in the store for over 30 minutes looking for a specific item and not once was I greeted or asked if I needed help and I couldn't ask anyone because honestly, I couldn't tell who worked there or who was a customer. My recent experiences here have made me think more of this smaller Sephora store. I wish it was bigger and had more, but I can always order online. I got the best service today. I went in to get a flat iron. They are expensive. Like, 250 bucks expensive. So I asked a lot of questions, nobody got fed up with me, the associate researched my questions online if she didn't know the answer, she was friendly, gave me samples of a product I might like, and was a pleasure to work with. I wish I could remember her name, she has vibrant pink hair. I spent a lot of money, bought some perfume and hair products too. I spent the same as I would have on Amazon, but I got great service and a lot of helpful advice. I'm impressed. read more

The lady with the two piercings gave me hella attitude. My total was $52 and I had $30 in cash so I told her I'll pay $30 in cash and the rest on card. She counts the money the looks at me and says, "You know I said 52, right?" with the most rude attitude ever. I told her "Yes, I said I'm paying the rest on card." And she just rolled her eyes at me and scoffed. What a bitch. The other employees are always nice but this lady was so rude. I was being so polite to her but she just gave me attitude. Sad!!!! I was quite disappointed in the customer service I experience at this location. It wasn't a pleasant experience I was offered by the way I was being spoken to as a customer. I am a 15 year old girl and I asked my mom to use her yelp because this has upset me and bothered me so much that I needed to write a review. While attempting to use my gift card the cashier accused me of trying to run a scam? I don't even really know what running a scam means. She could have explained to me how a gift card is used but instead she accused me of something illegal. I didn't have a parent there to help me and she persisted in telling me I was trying to scam and lie. I left in tears not really knowing what I even did. Recently went to the VIB holiday event and it seemed as if the staff wasn't prepared for this event. They didn't even check anyone in at the entrance. They didn't have drinks out like they normally do the "bites" were like 3 plates of weird looking pastries, they didn't have a lot of the holiday releases. A guy review. I come here with the wife. This places makes her happy. True, if you're a single, unattached guy in his 20's this place has little use for you. They do have shelves for men, including skin care products that keep your forty-something face from looking sixty-something. The Sephora card keeps track of your purchases and you get a (small) gift on your birthdays. Looking through the reviews, the place caters best to those who know what they want coming in. Why 3-stars, not 4 or 5? I dunno. I've been to posh Sephora on the strip of Vegas. That would be a 4-star, no higher since it didn't have what the wife was looking for. Hey my younger cousin and I were in the store looking around today and one of the employees falsely accused her of attempting to steal an Anastasia Beverly Hills eyebrow pencil in Dark Brown. We're both very confused and vexed by this, I was overhearing the employee call mall security through her headpiece. Really weird because she has the money for it and was gonna buy it? I've been going to this mall for years and no explanation told her "Get out of my store" and "I know you did it, just put it back and get out of my store" *edit as of 2018* Now that I've worked in retail for a good year, I look back and I just have to say that was pretty unprofessional of the employee to handle the situation. I was on a mission to find the perfect dark red lipstick!! I must have looked crazed because I was almost running down the aisles in every makeup aisle in stoneridge! Finally I come barreling through sephora and this adorable super chic black girl helped me out during my rampage!! I wish I got her name!! ARGH!!! She showed me 10 different lipsticks and they were close but not the one!! But then she suggested her lipstick that she was wearing!! HAHAH and it was awesome!! It was a black orchid looking color by Kat Von D.. and it was hot!! I was going to a 1920's party and she totally completed my look!! I still add a few dots of it under my brighter reds to richen them up! It is fabulous! I must go back to get her name!! I went in for a custom makeover and was helped by Marina. She was amazing. I feel like she really listened and was attentive to my makeup and skin care needs. I made it a little challenging for her because I have such sensitive skin. She knew just the products to try and recommend. Even when I would was interested in a product, she made sure to check if it would be safe for my skin. I really enjoyed my experience and left feeling beautiful. The only critique I have is that there should be a digital list sent to you with the products that we used, along with pricing. I spent a lot more than I intended because I wasn't aware of the product prices until the end. Regardless, I left happy with a new beauty routine and products I feel are of good quality. And they are ok to use on my sensitive skin. Marina was the best, from start to finish. Thank you! P.S. I would also like to thank Jaenna. I highly do no like thi Sephora store specifically because of the store manager or supervisor whatever she is. I've went to many Sephora and other makeup stores and I have not been treated like this. I was trying a lipstick on and the lady literally just grabbed the lipstick from me and said that they have to throw it away now?? She needs to learn how to deal with customer service because I had a friend that had a similar problem. She literally watches over and follows you everywhere around the store. Stoneridge mall is one of our favorite malls to shop. My wife and I go out of our way to travel there to visit Sephora and MAC (MACboth in Macy's and the dedicated store). The employees are always helpful and mostly happy and pleasant. Of course Sephora is more expensive than other cosmetic stores, but Sephora sells very high quality products. We only use Sephora or OPI nail polish and frankly, our cosmetics are split between Sephora and MAC. If there is a downside to this particular Sephora, it's because the place is always PACKED! I mean really packed! While there is always a line to check out, the cashiers always do their best to keep the line moving. I highly recommend any Sephora. read more

HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. I came here with my mother seeing as she wanted to treat herself, and splurge on makeup. We had a simple question that ended up becoming a goose chase - the employees kept sending us back n forth to one another. Not one of them could answer a simple question and were giving us conflicting answers. All we asked was to get color-matched. One of the employee said they didn't have the machine, the other said the results aren't accurate (trying to avoid helping us), and the third employee said they had it but referred us back to the first employee to help us (who said they didn't have it). I don't understand why they wouldn't do their job and just help us. Not only were we exhausted, but it was quite an embarrassing experience. We have never felt so belittled and disrespected. I had a beauty appointment with Julia and mainly wanted to find a new foundation, brow product, and a specific eyeliner for my lash extensions. I'm so glad I had my appointment with her because she was so knowledgeable about the products and very personable. Since I have lash extensions, I can't use waterproof or oil based products and Julia was able to find an eyeliner that matched that description! I'm not usually one to complain about stores but..honestly, every time I go to this Sephora, I feel like some of the people that work there would give me snobby looks. The thing that really made me mad and having to write this review is when I tried to return something. I bought these face pads that were suppose to help my face with dark spots. It says to use two a day. Ok...so I used a couple for a couple of days and it made my face really greasy. I tried returning it. The snobby cashier chick goes, you used too much of the product. Another older lady goes, well....you can return it if you've used one or maybe two. Uh...I dont think using a product once or twice would give me results! That's not what bugged me...the thing that bugged me was she pokes her nasty arse fingers into the pad and tells me..oh, sorry, you can't return it. UHM! ok...Seriously older lady? You poke your grimy fingers into the pad...and tell me i can't return it?? I wouldn't have been this p.oed if she didn't poke the product that I can't return and have to give to my mom to use. Today has to be the worst experience I've ever had at any sephora store. I will not be shopping at this location again and here's why: When my husband and I entered the store, we were greeted, which was a good thing. Then I proceeded to check out & swatch the new YSL foundation. Out of nowhere, this older female, probably in her late 30's or early 40's in a juicy suit started looking at the same foundation that I was. It wasn't a big deal, but dang she was really in my space. Who does that? Doesn't say excuse me or wait her turn or anything closely resembling something a civilized person would do. It's equivalent to when you're shopping in a clothing store and you're going through racks of clothes and another person is going through the same exact section you are...literally reaching over you trying to grab something that catches their eye. It's awkward and weird, as if they didn't have any shopping etiquette or something. Anyway, again, not a big deal because it's not Sephora's fault that the old lady wasn't aware of such things. But what made it worse was that the sephora associate who saw me looking at the foundation first (She was standing behind me stocking or fiddling around with stuff, yet she was faced towards my back) decided to ask the older lady if she needed help being color matched. At this point, both ladies were taking over the small space of where the foundation was located so I said, "Oh excuse me, I guess I'll wait." This was not the same associate that greeted us btw. I wish I had looked at this associate's name tag so that I could include it in this review, but she had reddish brown hair and was a tad on the plump side. Did she not offer to help because I look like I'm 15? Is it because I'm not carrying a Louis Vuitton bag?Or was it because I didn't have massive amounts of clown makeup on my face? I was dressed appropriately and ok, so I didn't have a Louis Vuitton bag, but it was Gucci. I felt discriminated against and made to feel like my money was not good enough. All I really wanted was a few samples for my sister because she was so excited to try YSL's new foundation since she is an avid Chanel user. Even after the Juicy Lady left, the Sephora worker did not offer to help. She saw my standing there looking at the foundation. She was right next to me. I was not able to get samples. It was more like I didn't want to anymore. This place left a bad taste in my mouth. I exchanged my products and left. After today's experience, I will never shop at this location again. I'd rather drive into the city or even visit the one in Modesto. It's such a shame because I love Sephora's wide range of products and their return and exchange policies. But the customer service is always hit or miss. If you don't look a certain way, you will not be helped. What a shame. read more

I'm honestly not the kind of girl that wears make up or knows how to do my make up that well, so I decided this could be a good time to learn and look nice. My makeup consultant was Maria. She was wonderful! Right off the back I loved her makeup. She had a natural not over the top look that I was going for. She showed and talked through my whole makeover which I loved. She showed me step by step what to do, giving me the confidence that I could do my own makeup when I wang to look nice! I was iffy about the lashes but the eventually grew on me and I loved my look soooo much! My husband and family gave me so many compliments. I ended up asking for her personal info so she could do my makeup for my wedding. I'm also a very PICKY person when it comes to my makeup, so if I'm pleased it's not taken lightly! They didn't treat me at all like the wreck I knew I appeared to be in front of them! instead they welcomed me with open arms when they were already visibly busy! they truly rescued me from such an unpleasant experience at the #&* store (just below them on the bottom level of the mall) where I had just left from a makeup competitor. that store was NOT very busyat all but for some reason...sigh:-( The one time I thought I might try another brand...instead (for my engagement photos) I should have know better after being a long time Sephora girl! . the competitor told me it would be $60 for makeover and that didn't include makeup. SO I was in tears and ran upstairs to Sephora where I knew what to expect. I'm so sorry I can't remember her name but she's th DIOR makeup rep/artist ( I will amend this review when I find your name) did an amazing job and the other kindest girl greeted me and told me they could help me in a pinch. Poor things, I must have looked scary afraid. I had come from NC for my photos and didn't know anything about ANYTHING in terms of makeup in the Pleasanton area. The girls at Sephora even curled my hair after my makeup, as I was running running out of time, with having wasted so much time at the other store. This is like the Wal-Mart of the beauty industry. In that sense... the service is hit or miss (but err... mainly MISS) though that's not why we come here IS IT LADIES? the selection is spotty and the experience, ultimately, is a TOTAL DRAG [queen] I hate Wal-Mart, and avoid it like the PLAGUE. If I ever have to go, I throw a complete, uncontrollable temper tantrum. Something about the lighting and the miserable people working (and shopping) there. I think? So I also avoid any place that makes me feel like I'm at Wal-Mart, including Sephora. But sometimes Sephora has really cool stuff! And it might be nice, for some [crazy] people, to have so much in one place. However, I prefer service and quality over massive, dizzying quantity. In their defense, they have been known to carry limited edition fragrances that are sold out elsewhere, and it is super duper fun to be able to try on EVERYTHING, from brow pens to nail polish, but the stores are pretty grimey, ill-staffed, and every time I walk in I'm completely overwhelmed by the fluorescent lighting and discount store layout. AND I'm completely underwhelmed by the staff's lack of service, professionalism, or anything useful to say. So I go here sometimes, IF I HAVE TO, but when I do I can't wait to leave. And I hate when my best friend tells me, "Sephora has it," because that almost always means I'll be going to Sephora soon. I've recently been trying and quickly returning a slew of Anastasia products, and then I had a slight issue with my train case purchase, so I've been dealing with the ladies at Sephora a little more than usual. Usual being never before. For Anasatsia, OK they have the entire line, kudos, though it's not my thing. For the train case, really, they sold out of like 10 in one weekend, so when I changed my mind on the color, I bought on a Friday, on Monday I was all of a sudden limited to two instead of five options. Now the color I exchanged for has a damaged part, so I must go yet again TO SEPHORA!!!! so they can, "see what we can do for you." What does that mean? You're going to see what you can do for me? Is this the mafia? Are they going to swap out my damaged part for another, future purchaser's inferior product? Are they going to give me the dirty display's part? Golly. That statement was so misleading. I just hope I don't get the run around from someone not as laid back as the girl who answered the phone today when I go back TOMORROW with *only* my damaged part. Because I'm not lugging that big thing full of makeup to the mall! So... This experience completely epitomizes my frustrations and concerns of Sephora's "service" and "training." I knew they weren't a REAL store. So on a lighter note, when I went in today in flip-flops with hair flying everywhere, everyone was so nice to me... I got treated like never before! It must have been the manager who did my exchange because she actually had an opinion on which train case I should buy, because she HAD THEM ALL. Why did it take 5 visits to find her?! LOVE! Note to self: dress DOWN when going to Sephora. They do not respond well to the seemingly pretentious. Ehh... I think I'll continue to stick to nearby Nordstrom for *pleasant* beauty splurges! I went in on a weekday night thinking I'd get some help looking for a foundation for a wedding. I asked someone for help and they directed me over to someone in kind of a rude manner, at the end of the conversation I wasn't sure if I would be getting helped or not. I was happily surprised someone did show up to color match me(even though they did sound a little annoyed when they talked over the Wallis), and left the store excited to try my new foundation the next day. The next morning I tried my foundation and realized the person who helped me handed me a completely different color that did not match me at all! I don't know if they didn't pay attention to what color they had swatched but to say I was annoyed was a little of an understatement. read more

If I could give this place zero stars I would but based on the star scale. I want to be as accurate as possible. I have experienced better especially being a rouge member. I don't particularly care for this location. For starters this store is extremely small, super tight, hardly any move around space, imagine the holidays you will have to inch your way around the store. Secondly the Employees are a bust with the exception of a few. The majority know absolutely nothing about their products and some don't even know how to pronounce the brands. I mean I get it everyone needs a job but to work for a company like Sephora you expect employees with knowledge of beauty, ambition and passion for cosmetology. With that being said I wouldn't get my make up done here (very Amateur).The Managers are even worse you should never have to rely on your associates to tell you how to do your job. Unprofessional.
