Updated review...when I reviewed my neighborhood Sephora back in 2019, there were never enough people working the registers. First off there is no Manager in the store for at least 5 days, (probably longer,) so if you need assistance you are forced to work with the Asst. Mgr. Gloria, who is not smart at all. She makes mistakes and knows nothing. Unfortunately, the stores are apparently run totally independently and there is no one to report a problem to except customer service who tells you they can't help you inasmuch the store mgr., (who is absent from the store for a long period of time,) runs the entire operation at her discretion. Rude obnoxious staff, not what it used to be. They would argue with you for 15 minutes when it was a simple straight forward solution. When the staff couldn't win his moronic argument, he brought out the "big gun" to fight his "fight"?? What the hell is this place?? One would think a manager should possess the skills and a brain to resolve situations instead of causing a bigger one by power tripping over customer for all the wrong reasons?? Like the "manager" title was supposed to be some sort of intimidation to a customer?? I don't get the logic nor what they were trying to do?? It's always the same scenario whenever I walk in here. No one pays attention to me unless I pick up an item and start examining it. Maybe ten minutes later someone approaches me asking if i need help. Gee thanks I see that you want to make a commission today *rolls eye*. As another Yelper stated this location is a hit or miss when it comes to customer service. I would much rather prefer the staff to fake it until they make it. If you know that your job is commission driven why not make the best of it and drive the sales through the roof? If you're looking for one of their popular items, good luck because they tend to sell out rather quickly. Often times they are unsure when their next shipment will be. I had the most amazing experience at Sephora today because of ROSIE!!!! Not only is she amazing at matching colors for foundations/concealers, but her knowledge of skin, skincare routines, and just overall makeup not only helped me figure out exactly what I need but also which products were best fit for my skin type! Thanks to Rosie, I was able to not only get the perfect shade for my concealer, but I was also able to find the perfect moisturizer for my skin, and the perfect brow pencil! Rosie answered all of my questions about skincare and makeup regimens and also helped by friend figure out exactly what she needed for her acne prone skin too! Rosie dig deep into how we were taking care of our skin, why our skin acted up based on what our skin types were, and found products that wouldn't irritate our skin. My friend and I walked out so much more informed about what we were putting on our face, what and how we should be taking care of our skin. Rosie is extremely thorough and makes sure you have exactly what you need and know what to do with it! When testing colors and brands she was able to figure out exactly what type of product I needed after simply testing out one color! FULL FACE MAKEUP & STORE REVIEW: This Sephora is my go to since I live nearby. It is kind of small, but the associates are always really friendly and helpful. I am especially excited to share about the beauty services I recently received. I was nervous about it at first since I never paid for beauty services at Sephora, but I am so glad I did. I was doing a photo and dance video shoot in the rain so I needed a flawless, waterproof look that would stand out on camera and not get smudged or ruined by the water. I figured I would go get my makeup done by a professional rather than buy a whole new set of waterproof makeup (it's not really my thing). I ended up choosing Fjorela as my makeup artist (just based off intuition) and I'm so happy to say, my intuition was correct! I was able to show her some looks from online as inspiration and she was able to immediately tell how to do it on my face. When I had ideas, she asked clear questions I could easily answer. My original inspiration was Nicole Scherzinger from her React music video and Fjorela was immediately able to confirm what I wanted in "makeup language" (lol). Even when I wanted to change direction and add a pop of purple, she asked clarifying questions that helped me understand what I really wanted. I'm no makeup expert, and I always appreciate when a professional can help me take my jumbled up idea from in my head and clarify and execute perfectly. Not only did she execute it perfectly, but it totally exceeded my expectations! She even explained why she did certain things differently since it was for a photo shoot vs an every day natural make up look. She knew how to make the makeup pop even better on camera... and it really did! My photo & video shoot went PERFECTLY and all the other girls were SO impressed with how well my makeup stayed on. This sephora is a shining beacon on austin street hat has been there forever, and because of its location it's usually stocked with items that might be sold out elsewhere. The cashiers have always been very polite, as well as the managers that ocassionskly walk around. The other day however i was in and no one asked if i needed anything even though i had been looking around for an eyeliner for a while and thought i was being pretty obvious i needed help. The first woman i finally asked however didn't know if there was anything like it (yellow eyeliner) but later when i left the store i saw it (by makeup forever) on my way out, so the lady before didn't know the stock too well. The lines at this location are always really long and take forever to get through, so it's a bit stressful on crowded days. Listen, this Sephora location must have read the reviews others have been reading because tonight's experience was a complete opposite from what I'm accustomed to. I walked in, completely expecting to be looked up and down with near annoyance and feeling like I have to beg someone to help. However, coming into the skincare section, two (yes friend, TWO) women asked me if I needed a basket for the items I already had, and I noticed the employees being open to speak and actually pleasant with those who had questions. I came in for some samples, and to my surprise, nobody looked like they wanted to roll their eyes in the back of their head! When I got to the cashier [it's Sephora -- you really think I was leaving with just samples?] I asked the young woman how long she had been working there, and she said since July. She was also super pleasant and made sure that I felt like I was being tended to, even if it was a few moments of interacting. I came here to buy the BOSCIA Pore Purifying Black Strips. When I arrived, there was a lot of people there and it's a small shop so people kept bumping into me. The SA's were all really busy so no one came to help me, but that fine because I didnt need any help. I am a product junkie, so I buy a lot of products to try. I am working on asking for samples and buying smaller sizes of products, so I dont waste any products. While I was at Sephora, I wanted to try the Living Proof Restore Repairing & Damage shampoo and conditioner. I asked the SA if they had any samples, and she said yes. Usually I feel the shampoo and conditioner samples are too small and not enough for my hair. However, she gave me samples that came in a plastic tub and she gave me two. Yea!! She didn't offer to find an answer nor did she offer any explanation of what she was doing for the application. No in-between​. I came in last week in search of a few items. Every employee on the floor was in pairs, chatting amongst themselves despite it being a fairly busy post xmas evening. When I made my way to the nearly empty back of the store, I heard a loud voice behind me ask "WHAT CAN I GET FOR YOU?" I turned around to find employee nearly barreling toward me. I have a tremendous amount of good feelings toward this Sephora. Back in the day, when I lived in Forest Hills, I e-mailed Sephora and told them about three possible locations for them on Austen Street (one being the store they ended up occupying a year later - coincidence? I think not). I also sang the praises of what a great and affluent neighborhood Forest Hills is and that they would do a ton of business because the nearest department store was in Queens Center Mall, which is not fit for man nor beast (even after the massive renovation). The service is really great in this store, the testers are clean and they are very generous with samples. They also have a decent variety of cosmetics considering this is one of their smaller stores. read more

So this review is is mostly a comparative description. I visited couple Sephora's around New York and other states . This branch has been the most disappointing one. I only visit here to just to pick up and walk out . Nothing here inspires to ask questions or try new items. The best part of this location is the fact it's open and it's close to the subway. Every other branch is filled with sales representatives of Sephora with smiles and working hard. I understand everyone has a bad day here and there but the attitudes of the employees here is incredible aloof. Just down right lazy and rude. This is not a one time thing but I am customer of Sephora and die hard fan of the Clinique and Boscia ( although now discontinued ) . When I ran out my skincare items and need it pick up quickly and run in here and run the hell out. On one of my visits , i wanted to try to the Kiehls avacado mask while purchasing my sun block . She explained what each product was for as she was applying it and gave me tips on how to apply my makeup. Also, Sabree is a great conversationist. Came in here today for the first time in a while. After walking around looking for someone to help me I tracked down one girl who was waiting to do a makeover so she asked another associate to help me. After waiting 5 mins the woman who was doing the makeover started to help us since we were waiting so long. Unfortunately her appointment showed up and she had to stop so she asked the same girl to help us again. After waiting another 7 minutes I looked around and saw her leaving against a wall talking to someone. I was about to leave when Matthew asked if I needed help. He was amazing.
