There isn't always someone in the front to greet you, but usually someone will say bye as you leave. And that could be dependent on the worker, but so far, the staff has gone out of their way to be polite. It is smaller than the store at Queens Center, a bit more crowded to walk around people even if it's not particularly busy. And while the lighting is adequate, I did notice it's also darker than the other location. Not something people always care about, but if you're testing out makeup, maybe brighter lighting would be helpful. Came here for returns, and the lines can form quickly, and typically in the early afternoon there is only one person at the register. If the lines get too long, they do call someone to assist but that doesn't always happen. Regardless of the wait, the girl was quick in helping me, as well as making some small talk. Came in today hoping to find a specific perfume but was told they don't carry it because this was a low traffic store. Once I entered I was greeted immediately. The staff here was very attentive and friendly. Not a large store, but they have a good amount of products here. They had a lot of Fenty Beauty products which I was told was mostly sold out in a lot of stores. I was able to get some products and samples which was great. They dont have a large perfume section but they have an okay amount; Gucci, Tom Ford, Chanel, YSL and Chloe to name a few. I would come back to this location for sure. read more

I had some time and wasn't sure what I needed casually browsing to see what was in Sephora. I am a natural kinda girl. Sensitive skin very careful about what I use and I am currently not wearing any foundation as I have been using a new skin care line for over a year. So super picky and generally don't like sales people. Vanessa said hello in a kind non pushy way. I told her what I was interested in and she gave me some help guided me and let me be. She then checked up on me and helped me discover a new line I didn't know about called Bite unfortunately they didn't have my color so I'll get it in the City where I live but it was so lovely. This Sephora location is awful. The staff is so rude and will almost never help you with what you need. I first went there a few years ago and remember the staff being dismissive and in their own world (having personal conversations, doing their makeup) basically unapproachable for anyone who may need help. After moving, I came back again, hoping maybe there was a change in staff or even management but there wasn't. So disappointing but the only reason I have decided to give it 2 stars is because they actually carry limited edition releases and doesn't get as crowded as other sephora locations. I view our local Sephora as a necessary evil. Sadly, there are simply not options in the neighborhood for these types of products (unless you want Drugstore brands). Per usual, went in today to purchase a few things which were out of stock. There is no one around to help UNTIL you open one of the drawers yourself to see if you can find inventory. Then low-and-behold, someone will show up to tell you not to open the drawer (of course, they were helping another customer). I waited a few more minutes since she said she'd be back, and then simply walked out. It's great for this Sephora that they are usually busy. But on top of the poor service, long lines at checkout and lack of inventory, this store is simply dirty. I've purchased hair product in the past that has literally had a layer of dust sitting on top of the jar (Living Proof product). Will I be back? Sadly, yes. Again, there are simply no other options within the neighborhood. Will I try not to go back? Yes. This Sephora is one of the filthiest I've ever been to. Everything is all over the place, the testers of the products are usually empty and staff refuse to replace them ( how can I try something out if there is no product in the container?) The staff is also very rude and hardly helpful. Sometimes I ask questions about a product I want to try out such as is the non-comedogenic and the staff won't know. Certain products such as Clinique's are known to be non-comedogenic and acnegenic. This store also has a small selection of travel size products. I love travel size products because they allow me to try something new that really works without breaking the bank (some products can be very very expensive). read more

I have to agree with most reviewers, this Sephora location falls short from pretty much everything. It is tiny, at least compared to some of the other Sephora's that I've gone to. Don't expect to be greeted when you walk in the door, don't expect to find many associates that will be actually able to help you, and don't expect to get a good attitude when requesting samples or when you end up knowing much more about makeup and skins are than they do. In addition, they barely have anything in stock, there are barely any testers out and they will hesitate to bring out a new tester too. The best part of any Sephora is being able to test it at the store and if you're satisfied, you purchase it right away. But not here. I went in one time with my fiancé and he found a cologne he really liked. However, he wanted to try it and see how long it lasts during daily life. He was told that Sephora never gives cologne/perfume samples. I almost had a fit since I've worked at Sephora myself before and customers are always provided samples of whatever the heck they want, no questions asked even when the product may not work once is out of the packaging. After much insisting and speaking to her manager, we got a sample, but no one should have to go through that just for a drop of cologne/perfume. To add one more thing to my already lengthy review, they don't carry Stila or some other extremely popular brands and sometimes may lack on new items that hit the shelves. I would say try the Sephora at Queens Center Mall due to its size and items in stock, but customer service can be bad there too, but not as bad as this Sephora. Good luck!! read more

I've really tried to give this place a chance, but four out of four times, it let me down. Customer Service: awful, the girls don't want to help you. After standing at the cash-wrap for an excessively long time (due to only having 2 cashiers open on a weekend), I was told there were no samples (what a surprise, they never have samples) but that someone could help me at skincare. As I was walking down to that section, the cashier YELLS into her walkie "I got one! Give me the Murad points!".. I understand that in retail you might use incentives to sell more products, but it's so uncouth to have customers hear about it. Came here yesterday looking for Fenty Beauty by Rihanna foundation. I know this item is a hot commodity, especially with people who have brown skin like myself, as her line boasts 40 different shades so you can get your exact match. I was hoping that I would get better service than the usual lack there of in Manhattan, but I was sorely mistaken. A woman offered to get a makeup artist for me to get a foundation match and she failed to ever get me one. When I finally did, she just said "I'm this # so you must be too".. girl you are much lighter than me how is that even possible ?? I had a few other items to pick up but I decided not to contribute to this store's sales. I'm honestly surprised to see so many negative reviews for this Sephora location, being that it is my Sephora of choice to frequent. Yes, this store is considerably smaller than any other location that I've visited. However, I have always found the service to be great- from management right down to staff. If someone doesn't know the answer to a question I have, they simply ask another associate and they usually end up having an answer for me. The lines move quickly. Products are usually in stock; if it's a hot ticket item and it sells out, you can't really hold the store responsible- they get limited quantities and shipments. I've never noticed obscenely dirty testers, and if I have, they're far and few. My only gripe with this store is that they don't carry as many brands, esp top tier brands, as other locations...like say for example the Roosevelt Field location which carries Stila, Becca, etc. I definitely would recommend this store read more

This is by the far the best Sephora I've been to in terms of how friendly and helpful the staff is. I was asked often (but not in an annoying way) if I needed help which was great, considering a lot of other beauty stores either ignore you or ask if you need help because their manager is watching. A woman helped me with skincare and was super thoughtful and didn't rush me with any of my questions. I wish I got her name but she was great. They have a good selection of Sephora essentials but I would honestly go back just to feel like I'll actually receive the help I need when looking for products. read more

I have mixed reviews of my hometown Sephora and its based on my last 2 visits there. When they were having their 3 for $10 nail polish sale, I wanted to exchange one of the polishes I bought from another store with another color I found here. When I got to the cashier, one of the associates was giving me a rough time. She claimed that they cannot do any exchanges "because they are sale items". It was not until I requested to speak with the manager was I then able to get an even exchange. I had a much better experience during my last trip a week ago. Despite their snag-free hair elastics being out of stock (as well as a lot of things, but that's a whole other story. Most shelves seemed empty and it was hard to look for testers), an associate was very friendly and offered a code for me right on the spot to order it online without having to pay shipping. This is one of the smallest Sephora I've been to. But I'm thankful that it's very close to my house. I've been here several times, which were mostly emergency cases when I needed eye liners and such. In the midst of all these bad reviews, I can actually offer a good one. I went in tonight and was looking for a new moisturizer. A woman by the name of Danielle approached me and gladly offered opinions and samples of moisturizers that she personally uses and ones that I wanted to try. She was super helpful and didn't seem annoyed at me when I kept asking for more. She wasn't pushy and didn't force me to buy any of the full sized versions I sampled. I liked that.
