It seems like some of the sales people are pretty fake...And the testers, most of them are all either used up for destroyed for some reason

I had a sweet 16 to attend and I was apart of the court of honor. I had an appointment but I wasn't expecting to have such great results. I had done an appointment before in QCM for another event and there it was really rushed by the person who was overseeing the makeup artist. I had a wonderful artist that keep asking to make sure I was happy with what she was doing. I received many compliments through out the night at the party. I'm looking for to another appointment soon where hopefully I get Lori to do my makeup again. read more

I went to this Sephora today, after two years of having a terrible experience. It's my local Sephora and I usually call ahead to be 100% sure the products that I need are in stock. I had such a pleasant experience with NISHA. She greeted me while I walked in and assisted me for 45 minutes. (I needed quite a bit of products) she is extremely knowledgeable not only in makeup, but also in fragrance, hair and skincare. She's pleasant, well spoken, kind and has a personality that anyone would gravitate to. Ask for NISHA!!!! read more

I love this Sephora. This Sephora isn't as great as the ones in Manhattan. But it has a pretty great selection of make up for a small Sephora. Employees are very helpful and friendly. Couldn't complain about the service. One thing I dislike about this Sephora is that if you're looking for makeup by Stila, you won't find it in this location. If you don't have to come here...DON'T! After looking on sephora.com at numerous products, I decided to go into a Sephora store to look at those products in person and to try on some things. When I got there I was EXTREMELY put off.... First, some of the products were hard to find, because they were not fully stocked or they had been misplaced in wrong areas. Second, the samples were VERY old and messy. For example, I was looking at a UD concealer pencil and some of the tips had been broken off, but sales associates never replaced them. Other such products had been dried out ( liquid liner) so you couldn't even gage the full effect of them. Third, I don't believe the beauty consultant that I spoke with was well versed on a few of the products that i mentioned to her (and these products were pretty old and fairly popular). But, she was nice. Explaining to me that in their store the management staff or whoever gives them hell to open new products to use as samples...hence the old samples on the displays. I have seen Sephora in SEARS stores that have a wider range of products than this location! I think that I'll just stick to Manhattan Sephora locations or the ones out in NJ malls. This place has so much potential being in this upper middle class neighborhood, but it falls way short. =/ What a waste of quarters feeding the parking meters. read more

Uhm. I came to this location and i'm still not sure on how I feel after leaving. They really did not seem willing to help a few people who seemed to need it and honestly it takes about five seconds to make sure all customers are doing ok. Oh dear sweet staff....You don't know who is entering your store. They also did not even have the brand I was looking for which kind of made it worse. Just go to the city if you really never experienced Sephora before otherwise you would be very turned off. read more

This Location is the closest to home and I usually try to come in around am to noon due to the lines and how busy this place gets. I have been coming in for a week trying to find a moisturizer and eye gel suitable for me. I have been helped by almost everyone in skincare. I have also been returning products all week since I have not been satisfied. I came across Diana at the register and she was extremely helpful and sweet. She asked in depth questions from my skin history, what are my needs, and wants. I came back to the store when I accidentally realized I picked up eye cream instead of eye gel. She came greeted me and walked over to skincare and showed me options and also helped me look for hair products. She took me to the register didn't make me go back on line and even had me check my phone for discounts. She is absolutely amazing and never got inpatient since I'm very indecisive. I left with samples and bonus products as well as my Alterna caviar products and PTR hydrating algae mask I . Will only look for her assistance from now on. read more

I hate leaving bad reviews, but I have to this time. Three different times over the last two months I have gone in there with a list of items I wanted. Each time the items aren't available. Yesterday, I wanted to purchase four different items and again nothing was available. This place is okay.. It's either a hit or miss, sometimes I come in here and get ok customer service and then again sometimes I don't. But I can say this, after months of waiting they did call me for a product I was waiting to come in. Also they held it for me about 72 hours. So that was nice. Stop by in today to try out some new products to purchase. I entered this Sephora since it's in my neighborhood to realize why I haven't been back. Immediately enter the store; no greeting. Start wandering the store making my way around the featured products. I start swatching certain products more han others due to certain testers looking destroyed. I continue to open testers and come across the Tarte mask (the Gold and lavender one) it was all mixed together and I really wanted to try it out but it looked so gross. Then I decided to just continue onto the new Fenty Beauty and this is where everything went downhill after wanting to remove certain swatches, they're no wipes, and an employee gave me hand sanitizer to clean it, seriously? Then I start to reach for this weird blue solution labeled "Makeup Remover" and it doesn't even remove the makeup but just spread all those swatches together all over. Most of the Fenty Testers were hitting pan, and or broken/destroyed. I kept overhearing customers telling the "artists" they needed a face match and they're were two woman waiting forever . Meh. Closest non mall location to me. Also, INSANELY PACKED. Granted, I am here on a Sunday afternoon. Line is extremely long, practically out of the door and it's not moving quickly. They definitely don't have as many hair products as other locations. My parents and I came by to redeem our scent vouchers for full size bottles and they barley have any testers out to smell. The organization, cleanliness - agreed with the other comments but also with brands and products. The store is small, but they need to start rotating in other brands. My office, Nu Place Realty, hosted a private event there before the store opened on Sunday morning. All of the staff was very helpful, and were able to address the needs of the guests attending the event. The mini facials & make-up looks were beautiful. But John N, where will you find these girls you seek? Where else but the girls club of course. And who better to guide me than the president of the club and expert in all things girly, Jill M. She turned me on to two products readily available at my local Sephora. The first was a shampoo by Rene Furterer to combat the dry scalp that the coming of Autumn inevitably brings and the second a styling product by Jonathon something or other called silky dirt. Walking into a Sephora as an uniformed male can be intimidating. I sauntered around the store clutching the notes I had scribbled, desperately trying to look like I knew exactly what I was doing. HALP!! An astute sales woman, after watching me lap the store three times, threw me a lifeline and asked if I needed help. Like a child I sheepishly handed her my notes and she pointed me in the right direction. Which happened to be about 4 inches from where I was standing, duh. They have bad reviews for a reason people! Went here yesterday 10/18/14 for a makeup appointment. My appointment was at 1:15pm. I was running late, called and was told by the manager that I had until 1:30 or they would have to give up the appointment because they were booked solid... No problem. I arrived before 1:30 and was seated by her. She introduced me to Angela(?) and said she would be my artist today. Angela was rude from the start and was more interested in playing with her butt length weave than me. I showed her what I wanted and from her reaction could tell she wasn't capable of doing glitzy Indian makeup. She said "you shouldn't have been late if you wanted something so extravagant" and sucked her teeth. I reminded her that she was doing a service for me and not the other way around. There were huffs and teeth sucking the whole 45 mins. If I wasn't crunched for time, I would've walked out. She kept knocking her products over and couldn't find any of the items in the store she was looking for. She was clearly new or just not knowledgeable. She talked to her coworker the whole time and didn't work with me to see if she was going in the right direction. 45 mins later, I emerged looking like a drag queen! This girl CAN NOT do makeup. No blending, too heavy on the layering and didn't know the proper brushes to use. When she was done I told her I didn't like it and she needed to tone it down and she sucked her teeth more and said "but this is what you showed me in the picture!" Umm no, it so wasn't. Now it's time to buy my $50 worth of products for the makeup application fee. If I didn't actually need items from sephora, I wouldn't have paid for the atrocity on my face. I asked her what products she used on my lips... She couldn't remember! She didn't write it down like she was supposed too! So I'll get perfume I say.. Angela says I can't get perfume, it has to be makeup. Regardless I still needed perfume, so I picked up a Nars highlighter kit, a YSL lipgloss an was in the perfume section and was checking out Gucci guilty when she starts running around the store looking for me and telling her coworkers "OMG I think she walked out, OMG she walked right the f**k out" -No genius, I'm right next to you watching you make a fool of yourself. I had enough- I went straight to the manager and explained to her the foolery that was going on and told her I wouldn't be supporting sephora forest hills anymore. She apologized and apologized and said she would have another artist of my choice fix me up-Told me I didn't have to purchase anything if I didn't want but I still got my items. I was already fed up and late for my function so I refused the 2nd makeup appointment. I came home and did my face way better and went to my function. Moral of the story- my toddler can do better makeup than Angela, so don't waste your time or energy. read more

I went in on Sunday afternoon and it took me a while to find a sales associate that was actually working. I asked her nicely if she can help me find an eyeliner that I didn't see on display. She rudely responded to me that she had to help another customer with her makeup and would get back to me in a few mins. I decided to look around while she was helping someone else and she never came to help me. Disgusted with the customer service I decided put back the other items I wanted to purchase and walked out. I went to grab a powder today and this was my first time at this location. I walked in and the first worker I saw avoided my eye and did not even greet me. Then she started walking away from me. LOL anything to avoid work I guess. No one asked me if I needed any help at all. This is in comparison to the Sephora I normally visit on 59 and Lex. What a contrast!!! After wandering aimlessly around the aisles I saw what I was looking for and quickly made a line for the cashier. At least she was a bit nicer but if you want personalized attention and a warm friendly guest experience try to go to the one on Lexington avenue. I've come here on numerous occasions, and I always leave here feeling like I was invisible. I usually walk in and there is no one there to either greet me or ask me if I am looking for something in particular. (I didn't even know this was common practice until I took the online survey). Whenever I actually do need help, there is never anyone around to ask. Yesterday was the last straw. A friend of mine and I walked in to this store and as usual, there was no one there to help us. We didn't think anything of it, because, what else is new with this place?! Anyway, I decided to try out the Anastasia (sp?) brow products they had but wanted a demonstration. A very pleasant (probably the most pleasant store associate I've ever met at this store! An aberration, obviously!) woman asked if I needed anything and I told her my concerns. She matched my eyebrows with the appropriate pencil color, sat me down at the Beauty Station and told me she would send someone over to help me. After waiting about five minutes, a young woman that had been standing around, about 3 feet from me, came over to help after the other woman walked back over and told her to. She did not say hello, did not introduce herself, only took the product from the counter and while I was facing the BACK OF THE STORE, (not the mirror) "demonstrated" how to apply the brow pencil. When she was done, she said "that's it". No explanation, no attempt to sell the product or anything else, nothing. I repeated to her what I was hoping for and she told me "you just apply it like a regular pencil". I was hoping for a more elaborate explanation, maybe something including what other products I could use with the pencil to make my eyebrows look thicker, but she was extremely unpleasant and not helpful. I just told her thanks so I could get away from her negative energy faster. For the last time and final time ever, thanks for nothing Sephora Forest Hills! I am both sorry and frustrated I wasted our time all these years. No worries though, you won't be seeing me ever again. read more

I think this store has a real stock management issue ... I live in the neighborhood and I have given this store many, many chances but somehow I can never find the items I am looking for. There aren't many testers and i was there for 30 minutes and not a single person asked me if I wanted help. I grabbed a cab of hand sanitizer and the girl grabs it from me and when I mentioned it she goes "I didn't grab shit from you". As a resident of forest hills, I found it so convienent that we have our own sephora right on austin street!! anyway, I walked into the forest hills, NY location. walked around and wasn't approached by one sales associate. I approached the girl at the register and she hesitantly asked me what I needed help with. she showed me a product but she rushed and quickly applied it. i wanted to spend a good amount of money on a satisfying product but did not see a difference with the application or the product she recommended. all of a sudden she said here is so and so she's going to help you, im guessing her shift was done for the day but she gave me this feeling like she gave up hope and didn't have interest in helping me at all, so she bailed. the next associate was very kind she recommended me to Lindeta. Lindeta had helped me on previous visits. she is very nice and helpful. she sat me in the make-up chair and showed me great products..exactly what i was looking for! Lindeta even went as far as giving me loads and loads of free products for my skin since i complained of some sort of heat rash or break out. This is the type of service i was looking for and I'm sure other girls can agree. especially if you spent over $100 there like I did. I'm not going to put any names out there with regards to the service that I was disappointed with because I wouldn't want that done to me..maybe the other girl was having a bad day or something. but i'd also like to add that the cashier had absolutely no personality. pretty much rushed me through the check out when I inquired about the points system on the 3 choices of free products if u have 100 points or more. she should be promoting it or suggesting it! I brought it up. she looked up my email. and didn't say whether i had the points or not just kept scanning the products that i was purchasing. i said well? do i have the points? then she responded with a, "oh yea, ummm..write down your email for me." she found it and said they had my email listed with a O instead of an L. then again proceeded to ignore my question on my points. finally after asking her again she said i had the points to get the free product. I couldn't believe at the end she wrote her name on big letters over my receipt stating, "here is my name and lindeta helped you out today, you have a chance of winning blah..blah..blah if you fill out the survey." then she proceeded to write Lindeta's name in very small letters. as if im going to give this horrible cashier the credit as opposed to someone who actually deserves the credit like Lindeta did!! lol! I didn't even fill out this survey with hopes of winning the prize..I mean it would be great. but I just wanted to state what a great job ms. lindeta did and my qualms that I had with regards to the rest of the staff!! I have never had a good experience shopping at this location and I've been here so many times. Not only does no one greet you when you walk in, but no one is ever available to help. All the sales associates are always standing around talking to each other and act very rude and dismissive when you finally manage to flag someone down to help you. If I'm a customer (especially a VIB member), I deserve to be treated with some respect. If you're a sales associate, you should probably be a little less unfriendly, rude, and unhelpful. I have come here multiple times as a beauty VIB member. All the times were less than pleasant. The sales associate are just plain nasty. It disgusts me that I have to be the one sucking up to them to get some help. It's their f%^#ing job to help assist customers! I used to be a sales associate and trust me I was more than friendly!!! I can point out a few nasty associates in the store. A FEW. why would a store hire more than one bad egg?! Beats me!! Anyway my friend asked one of the ladies to give her three samples of three perfumes to try at home so that she can decide on a scent. This was the first time I had a bad experience. It was with a lady with glasses and curly hair whose tan and kind of chubby. She rolled her eyes constantly at us for no good reason and opened the sampler drawer with disdain and slammed it shut. We were both shocked that this was happening. She made it seem like we were mortal enemies. She put the perfumes in the samplers while grilling us and gave my friend the samples with a push as if she was shoving her and walked away. What the hell?!?! She seriously was the epitome of nasty. The second time was a woman with curly hair with red streaks whose skinny and she repeatedly ignored me when I said "excuse me excuse me" I probably said it well over 10 times!! She even looked at me but acted like she didn't see me and walked away with a disgusted expression on her face! Even one of the managers whom are on the other side of the store heard me and finally helped me! That's absolutely absurd in my honest opinion! At that point I was about ready to give up on this place. This time I gave the store ONE final chance yesterday and guess what?!?! Another stupid B%TCH was being nasty?! Like seriously? Three strikes and you are OUT Sephora! They used to have decent associates 1 year ago and now it completely F%cking sucks!! This one was brown and short and chubby. She pissed me off on a whole other level. When I try makeup on in front of the big mirrors i ALWAYS put them back. It isn't my problem if another customer leaves them there. She approached me and says "sweety you need to clean up after yourself" with a snarky attitude and I was just appalled that she accused me with no evidence. Having had enough of their bullshit and being polite I added "yeah I always clean up after myself thanks" but the damage was already done. She then grilled me the whole time until I left. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! This Sephora suuuucks!!! Not only with their Customer Service but also with their maintenance and over all ambiance. The first time I visited this location I asked a Sales Associate a general question about clear lipgloss and she began to answer by sucking her teethe. The second time, the Sales Associate that assisted me was very helpful, however his breath smelled and his nose was dirty!!! How the hell can you NOT notice your dirty nose working in a place FILLED with mirrors?!? Finally the third time I went was to exchange something so I was expecting to be in and out. I live in the neighborhood and walked by and I noticed that there was some kind of class going on in the window. I walked in and stood to the side listening. When one of the teachers, Wendy noticed me, she asked me if I wanted to participate in their winged eyeliner class that was just starting. They made me feel so welcome! Cece gave us some tips and tricks and overall it was a great experience. I didn't know that Sephora does these classes, but I know I'll be back. They took down my information and told me that as soon as they have a new class, they'd call me and ask me to join. I've been here few times and the staff here are really nice and very friendly. It was clean and organized which is a plus!
