As a female, I am genetically hardwired to love makeup, much as men are wired for cars. Well, wait..now what happens if you're a girl and you and change your own flat? *looks around* nobody? Just me? Okay.. Umm..anywwhhoo.. so back to Sephora. AKA one of my favorite places eva!! (^_^)
Sephora, MAC, Melt, Sugar Pill.. I freaking love makeup, I really do. But I am soo busy with school and work 90% of the time, I don't even bother those days. But when I get my weekend, it's ON! Literally, the makeup is on haha. I've been a loyal customer of Sephora since about 8th grade..that was in 2002. Fast forward to 2015, and I love having whatever I might need at my fingertips! Sephora allows me to do just that. Also, being a part of their free Beauty Insider rewards program is awesome! For every $1 spent you earn a point. Redeem at 100 or 500 points! Spend enough, and you get a different "label" on your Beauty Insider account. $500 in a year for VIB, $1000 for VIB Rouge. And those come with their own perks as well., I love that your rewards status is good until the end of the following year!
This particular Sephora is a flagship store, so it's got a LOT. But weirdly, it's not as large as you would think. Or maybe it's because they're always super crowded, so it feels like that? Huh, not sure. Never been when it isn't full of like-minded women haha. Anyhow, they have so many brands it's crazy. This isn't Ulta, so it is high end brands only. Meaning NARS, Too Faced, Urban Decay, Benfit, Bare Minerals etc and then a few high end hair products/brands as well. Most display ends are stocked with applicators to use on the testers, which is where I get in trouble because I'm like "oohh, aahhh, shiny..ooh matte!" Yeah, and then my little basket is stocked with a ton of things I really probably don't need, or won't even use because I just liked the package it came in haha! Everything is relatively easy to access, except during the holidays when it's a madhouse.
The sales associates here are hit and miss. I went in a few times to get assistance with a product I had bought, and literally went 4 different times. 4 different sales associates assisted me each time, and none of them did the application the same way. Eventually I did end up stopping by a different location and finally got the help I was seeking. I've had a a few great girls, including a Canadian gal, Camille, I think? It's been a few months since I saw her, but she was fabulous! If you're not makeup obssessed, don't fret! Sephora could still be your favorite store. Perfumes, skin care items, hair care (shampoo/conditioners/products) and basically every kind of beauty tool you might possibly need! Makeup brushes, cleansers, holders, travel sized items..they have it all (^_^)
Checking out is a little hassle because it's kind of in the middle of the store, so when it's crowded, you have to squeeze through people to get to where you wanted. Which is really the downside to this location in particular. If the line really bugged me, I'd go across the street to the other location but it's smaller. This location usually has everything I need in stock, and are rarely low or out of anything. Plus, I love how you can get all kinds of fun samples of new products you want to try! As much as I love Sephora, it's hard to love how busy this location always is. read more
