No one helped me today while going there I was in the store for 30 mins checking out things. Not a single worker came to me and asked for help. I asked one worker for something. Immediately says we don't have that before I even finish the question. If you would like to be in a store with good customer service and patient workers please go to a different Sephora. read more

I came in on a Sunday in the afternoon. I couldn't find anyone to help me. Usually ppl always run up and try to help. I also couldn't find makeup remover to get the testers off my hand. But the worse thing here was THE SMELL!!! I think they have sewage problem?! Sorry for the childish description but it smelled like stale farts in there. It made no sense. My friend agreed. Also when we were leaving I heard someone else say the same as they walked in. Please spray some perfume or just anything to get rid of the stench! I hope it was just today and it's not always like that read more

I was ready to give up on Sephora after many years and thousands of dollars. I had a horrid experience at the Pacific Commons location ( and yes I left a review) but Hillsdale is doing things right, the way I expect to be greeted and treated by Sephora staff. Great calibration, good energy with the staff and very helpful! Got all the things I planned to buy from the Fremont store before I walked out. Thank you to the Hillsdale staff for making my day and renewing my faith in the Sephora brand. read more

I had the most wonderful experience at Sephora-Burlingame. It started 14 months ago with a complete makeover and has continued ever since. Today I restock my product and I met Chris and Sam. Oh my gosh not only did they listen to I needed they made a suggestion because I wanted waterproof mascara, but I didn't know if I wanted volume or length and then on top of it, they mentioned the. R removal of the mascara because it is waterproof. They never once tried to oversell me. They never once made me feel guilty for buying just two items. They were professional, warming and listened, and as I am an older woman, they respected what I was saying. As an older client, I have been as invisible, I've been not respected, and I've been ignored by most so it was such a refreshing experience to be seen as an individual age. read more

Pros: this is a pretty big store compared to other local Sephoras. Hardly ever a line. Staff is pretty helpful. Cons: this store in particular rarely has the items I'm looking for. I end up having to go to another Sephora to get it. They also rearranged the store recently and the new layout is overwhelming and confusing. read more

Super convenient location near home for when I need some "beauty" products (very rare). The employees always seem to know exactly where I can find my product, and I can order my JVN hair products online and pickup at my local Sephora. read more

business earned and well deserved a minus ten. utterly disgusting, repulsive, unconscionable, appalling, incompetent, mortifying, reckless, ignorant and inhumane observations. caroline: sarcastic, arrogant, demeaning and pompous attitude of confusing store location. trini: lacked manners, unarticulated communication, disorganization, no sanitization pre-handling, testing and post handling of tester product while expecting me to disgustingly share germs??!! i had to tell her and teach her about hygiene. danielle: odd personality and fake. seemingly kind on the sales floor but strong and cold attitude at the purchase counter. disgraceful. full refund. thank you for the trauma and unwelcomed stress. no clue about human kindness. read more

This is a smaller Sephora than my local store but I had such a great experience. I ran in to grab deodorant before attending a party up the street. Joana helped me pick one out and showed me my options. The line was long, but she asked if I was using Apple Pay and let me do my transaction off to the side. Great experience for a long time rouge member! read more

Love Sephora. Respect the manager, Nora. However a worker named, Evelyn provided the worst customer service at this location. Asked about the annual birthday reward that I wanted redeemed and basically told me to read the labels. Then paid with a physical card and in return she tossed my card back at me. Not only that but she aggressively stacked/ slammed my 2 items on the counter. If you don't like your job , leave. If you cannot be professional or keep it classy , work at a Chuck E. Super satisfied with our service at Sephora this week! Came in at opening on Wednesday to get some false lashes for a wedding that afternoon and didn't have a lot of time but Rosie showed up as a life saver! I'm so disappointed with the people who works here! literally thought that me and my friends were stealing, called on some police and the workers followed us through the store and dirty looks all over! Shout out Isabella for checking us out next to the police like we were going to be intimidated to fill your dreams that we did anything LOL. And to that one girl who disrespected me while I was checking the product that I was going to BUY. also found this in my friends sephora bag!! the products we got never had this before we handed it to isabela, beware of sephora workers in this location! This was one of the weirdest experiences I've had at a Sephora before. The service seemed not on point. They were very reluctant to engage and when they did, didn't seem to listen much. This location didn't have a lot of stock. Some displays had no product, most had at least a few gaps. When I inquired for additional stock in a lipstick color, their back stock was quite bare. To top it off, the store was very hot temperature wise. Almost made me pass out. While I love Sephora, I don't think I'll be shopping at this location in the future. read more

They won't let me exchange/return a $7 product that's brand new bc it's past their return date. Lame. They're loss bc I was going to spend $200 on other products but instead I left frustrated. Thanks Jessica and Jasmine for helping me pick out an eye concealer! Both of them were so friendly and helpful. It's great to have a Sephora within walking distance. I often come to browse and buy. I definitely recommend doing a foundation match with an associate if you're in the market for new foundation. Alla is rude. There was a line at the register and she came to grab the the person in front of me in line and myself to check out at the front. I said "what if the person up here is done first since she was midway through her checkout. I'll wait here" alla rolls her eyes and says "she's going to take the person after you to the front too" So, I proceed to listen and follow her. Of course, like I suspected would happen, the person behind me was helped before I was and the person in front of me took forever to check out. I pointed it out to alla and she rolled her eyes and said "maam everyone is getting helped." I said "then what's the point of the line" she said "whatever". I asked for her name. She said "actually I'm going to have the manager check you out" just so I can wait longer as she took her sweet time to walk to the back to spite me. Manager was friendly and gave me samples, but i have experienced one too many rude employees with bad attitudes at this location to not leave a review at this point. Multiple bad employees is a direct reflection of leadership and management at this location. read more

I love coming to this Sephora!! Because of how big it is. The girls that work here are typically very helpful also.

Ahhh...Discover the latest in beauty at Sephora. With that kind of message, I'm SOLD. I came here to buy something for my sister and mum. Yes, I'm a bloody great brother and son. ;) I treat women like royalty. Sephora is beauty boutique and they're ubiquitous through out the world. This location was in Burlingame (Bay Area). I arrived at the store and was flocked and warmly greeted by lovely sales women. Blimey! Moreover, the store was neat and well organized. I perused their products from fragrance to lipsticks to eyeliner. Since it was my first time here I asked a lovely young sales woman to assist me. She assumed I was shopping for a gf but I politely corrected her. She gave a sheepish smile. Like so...:D Anyways, she was helpful in assisting me and narrowing it down so I can make an executive decision. Prices were on a high end. Overall, I enjoyed my Sephora time and got to know a lovely sales woman and learned a lot about women's world. I highly recommend this beauty store. read more

Cassandra is a fabulous makeup artist! She gave me a 75 minute beauty lesson and I felt like a million bucks. I can recommend Cassandra highly with no reservations. Book with her! You will love it! read more

Yesterday my Mother and sister were looking for some products at such store. When my family arrived they were not greeted and instead were followed around the store without offering any assistance. Afterwards, when they were at the cashier they were not offered any bags, yet people previous to them were offered a bag. Such bad costumer service. read more

this store is disgusting and SO dirty. the floor is covered in hair, dust and squashed makeup smears. the displayed have makeup all over them, dusty, containers knocked open and spilling, and again hair! not to mention the amount of packaging i saw covered in dust, makeup handprints etc. obviously makeup stores you're going to see the occasional stain or two but the amount of full white displays of brands that were painted with product was disgusting. everything felt very unsanitary and dirty. coming off a post covid era you'd think cleanliness, in a beauty product store especially, would still be at the top of their list. i'm all for staff not working every moment of their shift but if i was an employee and saw an entire display knocked over that i was standing near id at least pick it up. read more

This location is small and doesn't often or ever carry the products I typically buy online. Can't try before I by then which doesn't help. The service is not good here either. I tried to return something that was delayed in shipment and their return policy is too strict now even as a rouge VIB. I finally received my online order after a two week delay. When I finally found time to make a return, I was two days after the order date. So forgiveness. She just said, "well, you did order during a holiday season." Well, they can also check the shipment arrival date... wasn't pleased. Don't love going into this store but it gets the job done at a decent location. read more

Unpleasant experience with staff. I had an item held for pickup and the woman at the counter was rude and visibly bothered when I told her I only had a screenshot of the confirmation code (I didn't have internet to go back to the email). She went on about how I needed to bring the barcode even though she quickly found it with the info I gave to her. After that, she rudely asked me for my ID and said "I can't give the item to just anyone, you know". It was very patronizing, as it made me feel like she didn't think I was the person purchasing the item. I was taken aback by her rudeness because up until this point I didn't give her any form of resistance. I just wanted to pick up my product and give her as much info as possible. When we finished up she went on about how I needed to bring the barcode next time and continued to have a very entitled and patronizing attitude with me. Keep in mind, she never looked me in the eye. I didn't catch her name but she had short dark hair, is an asian woman and maybe in her 50s or early 60s. I think Sephora at this location needs to train their staff better in treating customers professionally and having more patience. On the other hand, a sweet young woman named Brianna was very attentive and went out of her way to help me look for a product. read more

I see I failed to update my review after being trailed around this store like a criminal because I took a little video *of a display--not even of people--and was not even saying a word* and, instead of simply approaching me and asking me to stop because of store policy (which was NOT POSTED ANYWHERE), the secret service started whispering around me, and security kept saying "how you doing! everything ok?" as if I didn't catch on. I was a very frequent customer at this store (people who recognized me were even working that day) and won't even go in now. It was even another brick in the wall of me not patronizing Sephora in general (it's gone massively downhill anyway). PS this is well before the recent spate of smash-and-grabs, so that wasn't the reason. A little customer service goes a long way for a positive experience. Instead of treating customers like security threats, BE POLITE AND DON'T ASSUME. read more

One of the best things I liked of this Sephora is that no one bothers going after you and asking if you need something (normally I don't like being asked, as I know what I want...mostly explore and find out new products and colors)...the thing I liked less is that smell. It smelled terribly, maybe because so many restaurants nearby? Not sure if that was happening only the day I visited, but it bothered me a lot, as it was interfering with the smells of the perfumes I was trying and generally speaking you don't expect a beauty supply store to smell like fried broccoli. I had a great time beautifying myself and using that mirror that offers you different styles that can suit you, then you select those colors and take a pic that is sent to your phone with all the products that they used for that combination. I found that amazing, was my first time using that free service and very cool. read more

I'm not a huge fan of this place. Such an uncomfortable shopping experience. I used to work at another location before so I know sometimes the store can get chaotic, and this was exactly the case today as I came in on a Saturday. First of all, the store is extremely cramped. You can barely walk through the aisles to get what you need because there's literally no room. Second of all, multiple sales associates continuously kept following me around and asked me numerous times if I needed help after I told them I was fine. Mind you, I was also on the phone with AirPods in my ears to drown out the noise and avoid being bothered, yet they were persistent. It just made me feel super uncomfortable knowing I couldn't shop in peace without someone interrupting me to ask the same question every time. I'm better off ordering online. read more

The workers at this Sephora location are approachable, helpful, and attentive but not too in-your-face. They instantly knew where all the items on my list were, and they didn't hesitate to tell me I had to order some more niche items online. I'm accustomed to feeling rushed and put-upon at other Sephora locations that are either too crowded or have overly eager workers. Glad that the Burlingame location gets the balance right! read more

No one greeted me upon entry. I wanted to return a product and the woman who was at the register was not warm or friendly ...she told me about what she CANNOT DO... asked me when I purchased it and I said within 560 days I thought. I was incorrect it was almost 4 months ago. I was surprised (time flies and I go to Sephora often and had not opened this product until recently.) She was then dismissive...so empathy so "I am so sorry but this is not returnable for exchange...I then handed it to her to throw away and she said she couldn't throw it away inside the store. I asked why not...she spoke so quickly I didn't follow...I asked "are you saying someone would go through the garbage and find it and conclude it was from this store? "Yes we check the garbage. I had planned o spending a few hundred dollars on some products today; instead I left and threw the product in a garbage can inside the store. I WILL NEVER GO BACK. I had a wonderful experience at Sephora Burlingame last week. When I visited, I was about to embark on a trip abroad for three months to South America so I stopped by Sephora to pick up some makeup that would last me the whole trip. I was helped by Jimena. Jimena was very kind and knowledgable about makeup. As someone who does not have a lot of experience with makeup, Jimena provided me recommendations that I trusted. Had a very troubling experience here yesterday. Came with a friend who is new to make up, I've actually worked in the beauty industry on and off for many years so thought it would be nice to have her have a consultation for some new products. We know you can't try anything on anymore due to covid but the sales associate told her that since she's so dark it's going to be extremely difficult to find her color. I was shocked so right away I said ok well maybe you can point us to a couple brands you think we should check out on our own and he immediately took us to fenti and showed her the darkest color, keep in mind she's not that dark.. then compared her to Rihanna saying Rihanna is very light toned in comparison. I couldn't believe the whole interaction, I'm extremely embarrassed for this uneducated associate and I can only hope in the future Sephora does a little more training. read more

Still under construction not sure ? The service is always a miss . I had what seemed to be the manager or asst manager greet me. There is always someone asking if you need something but then running away and not truly wanting to do that for you. I had an exchange and there was an error on the receipt. Instead of acknowledging she insisted I not get credit back therefore stealing my money. The principle here is that this staff member chose to not investigate the error or contact me to rectify. I think I can locate her employee number or whatever on the receipt . This location should be operating with pristine service it is in Burlingame instead the service awful. read more
