After about 15 mins, I gave up and called in for an appointment. Chanel is one of the few (if not the only) make-up counters in Macy's that does not require you to purchase anything if their artists are doing your make-up. That deserves three stars right there. The day I came in for my makeover, there was some big Chanel muckety-muck in town who was overseeing all of the makeovers. It felt a little wierd to have 3 people hovering very close to my face the whole time, and critiqueing every brush stroke. Here are my problems: 1) I told the woman to lightly line my eyebrows. By the time she was done, I felt like Bert from Sesame Street. The big-time Chanel muckety-muck proceeded to give her a talking-to. Awkward. 2) The woman then proceeded to start talking shmack about all of her co-workers (including the girl who blew me off a few days prior). I found that to be very unprofessional. 3) She put a gloss on me that I really really liked. When I tried to buy it at the end, she discovered it was "discontinued." (I found it at another location about a month later). 4) I attempted to buy some mascara. I get home and I realize she handed a tub of lipstick instead. Then they gave me grief when I tried to return it. I'll leave it up to you to decide if getting makeup done for free is worth all this.

This was my second time coming here. The first was just ok, and I only had my gel removed. This…read moretime I had my gel removed and a basic manicure. It was pretty awful. I had cut my nails the night before so I just needed them filed. The person doing my nails used the dremel to shave off some gel, applied the gel remover, and then used the dremel again. The remover gel and my gel polish was flying off in chunks and when it hit my skin it BURNED. The technician kept using her gloves hand to wipe the bits away which just dragged the solution across my skin and made it burn even more. I requested to wash my hands because it hurt so bad and it was all over. Eventually the burning subsided, but when she went to dremel again, she was going fast and she cut one of my cuticles pretty bad, it was dripping blood into the sink. She applied that solution to make the bleeding stop. She also barely filed my nails, so they were still uneven in the same places as when I cut them myself the night before. After all of that, I was charged $40 and left with very scratched up nails from using the dremel really aggressively, damaged cuticle with caked on blood I haven't been able to scrub off, and some gel polish still on my nails. Definitely won't come back.
