Ulta can thank this specific Sephora location for my business. I was a VIB Rouge for years but found myself always avoiding this location due to the abysmal service and intrusive staff. One woman whom works in skincare that I have come to recognize, has several times, over years, made crazy claims about various products, but never actually had any information that I wanted. One of the perks of being a VIB Rouge includes various services, none of which I was ever able to access. The most irritating aspect of this store however is the intrusive staff. After I have politely declined help x3, I expect to be left alone. I am an alert and oriented adult capable of making my own decisions, if I need help, I will ask. Now I go to Ulta where I am free to browse w/o being interrupted, without my personal space being invaded. The Ulta loyalty program is much better, and the sales cant be beat. I'm a fan of this location- tons of products to choose from and it seems more spacious than other Sephora locations. The staff are usually very friendly, but keep in mind that this just opened and is the only Sephora on the south shore- so this place is always VERY BUSY! read more

I love browsing at Sephora, but will most likely start going to a different location due to the customer service. Like Alexis said, let us shop in peace. I work full time and on my day off I like to browse in peace and not have a perfume salesman constantly bothering me with different samples. I already had picked up the perfume I went in there for and was just checking out the others available when not once or twice, but 5 times I'm getting handed samples of perfume. I ended up just ignoring him. The cashiers aren't much better. I purchased one item, and asked if he was able to break a large bill, he said yes.. then had to go into the back to get change. If he wasn't able to break it, he should have just said so. I waited more than 5 minutes for him to come back with my change. and don't even get me started on the time before that when the cashier at McDonalds was friendlier. read more

I came to sephora at south shore in braintree to buy stuffs for my friend but the manager there was being so rude to me. My friend want me to get something there and gave me her code num, email and anything. Another store (Manager) in NH said I can do that so she called me to just go buy it for her. I drove there and it took like almost an hour to buy it but what I heard from the manager there was bad service EVER. He said No and not tried to help me out at all instead of looking so rude to me. I though at lease saying sorry or trying to help me but it was not at all. What I heard was only No and No with his so unfriendly face. I don't know how long he have been manager over there. But at lease other store that I visited the manager was so nice and tried to help me the best they can but this Manager was the worse manager I ever seen. I felt so disappointed and I though it was not my fault that I got wrong information from another store that said I can do that to just buy it for my friend and had all information of her. Well, I am not stealing anything but the way he acted at me just being so rude. Love Sephora. Don't like their staff though. The skin care staff are generally better. But the makeup staff and especially the cashiers seem very unhappy; they're really unpleasant to be around. I don't even need their help most of the time. I just want my products and to get out of there. But this location's cashiers seem to try to show you how much they don't want to be interacting with the customers. Maybe Sephora doesn't pay them enough? Stopped in finally to this Sephora location! I've been to several others. This is definitely a smaller version of others I've been to. But, I love it. Too faced and Urban Decay are my two favorite brands of makeup and they had both. I was there for about 45 minutes before ever even being asked if I needed any help. Which is fine..because I cannot stand pushy sales people. I noticed a lot of yelpers saying shelves were not empty and messy. Sephora...I could spend all day in this store. Employees are usually very helpful and always informing me of specials, as well as upcoming promotions or events. If you get a Sephora beauty card, you earn points every purchase and end up getting to use them towards your favorite products in the end. I went in yesterday so excited to buy the new Fenty by Rihanna foundation and so i asked an employee if I could get color matched. She said she called someone to come over and help. 10 minutes later everyone around me is being helped except me so i ask another employee and she told me she will call for someone to assist me but mentioned how they were all busy at the moment-- sure no problem i waited patiently. Long story short i waited for about 25min total and the same employee i asked in the first place color matched this other girl right next to me. I was furious so i chose a foundation I thought worked and checked out. Now i have to return it cuz its the wrong shade. Long story short THEY SUCK AND DO NOT HELP FOR SHIT. read more

This is one of the nicest and largest sephora shops I have seen in the Boston area. I went on a Saturday and it was packed but it wasn't hard to find help. I could spend hours browsing and looking at all the makeup testers. I love how they have travel sizes so you can try something out if you're not sure about it. My favorite line is surprisingly sephora brand products. They cost less than the name brands but they're pretty decent quality. What impressed me was they were out of my finishing powder and the employee was nice enough to give me a sample to last me for a while. read more

Not a BAD store, they have a great selection and tons of great products, but I found it to be really cramped and super crowded. Some of the makeup displays were really messy and unkept. What fantastic service! I wandered into the perfume section of the Braintree Sephora late this morning. A lovely lady named Shawn approached me and asked if she could help with anything. I had a gift certificate from one of Sephora's sample kits. A lot of salespeople would have lost interest in me at that point, knowing I wasn't going to spend any extra money, but not Shawn. She helped me find the perfume in the size I was looking for, suggested a few others I might like, and sent me off with three different samples. Outstanding service! Amazing! It goes without saying that Sephora has everything; the service makes the Braintree location stand out. Shawn has waited on me before and I was equally impressed today. I haven't shopped at Sephora for makeup, cleanser, or moisturizer lately but I would definitely enlist her help next time I need to stock up. It's a rare treat to receive such personal service from a big company. Ten stars! read more

This particular Sephora is tiny and may have too many people on staff. I asked where to find the Fresh brand products and suddenly two associates are hanging around at the sides of the display while I'm smelling the scents. It's distracting and uncomfortable. I've never experienced such hovering - even for sales people. Most other Sephoras allow you to try and sample their products in peace, they should try it in this store. read more

I'm not a big makeup person but had a special occasion one evening and decided to get my makeup done...by some unknown person. I made my appointment on a Saturday morning and was able to get an early evening appointment which was perfect for me. I was terrified as I always end up with some foundation that never matches my Indian skin. I ended up getting my makeup done by Ben...I love him! He was able to find the perfect foundation to match my skin within just two tests. He listened to what I wanted and delivered. The reason why I didn't give 5 stars is because he wouldn't accept a tip! I do love sephora. I love the design, I love the makeup, and I love the selection. I am a VIB status shopper there and the people there are always super courteous. I had my makeup application done once several weeks ago by a young gentleman and he was not only funny, but super down to earth and he completed my makeup beautifully. I frequent the plaza store almost every other week as I always look for something new to add to my home makeup collection. I love the cleanliness of the place too and I love how there are stations where you can try makeup on. It really helps in finding that perfect eyeshadow or the "just right" shade of lipstick or foundation. They also have a huge selection of skin, hair, and nail care supplies ranging from supplements to topical solutions to be applied directly to the skin or scalp. I love natural products and they have a decent selection of those as well. The prices can be expensive, but they offer lower cost dupes of the more expensive colors and shades in their own personal brand so you can still get nice makeup, even on a budget. For the most part, I buy online as this place is always busy and can get claustrophobic at times on the weekends (think black friday) so I frequently make purchases through their website. But on those days that I feel it necessary to try the makeup on, the Braintree store is the only one I go to, not just for the makeup, but the customer service which is TOP NOTCH. One was very nice- knew exactly how to fix a makeup problem I was having, however the first 2 lip liner recommendations she had were sold out and she had to go to her third choice. I came in the other day looking like a disaster-- I had gotten my makeup done at Macy's for a wedding and actually wanted to die it looked so terrible (coming from someone who knows makeup relatively well). I had sent my sister to Sephora for her appointment as we booked last minute and my sister looked amazing after her 15 minute mini with Julia so I asked if any of the artists could help me quickly redo mine as I was already late for the wedding. Amanda kindly and enthusiastically redid my whole eye makeup and made me look fabulous. I've never had any issues here- up till just the other day. For the most part many of the sales associates are friendly. However, if you're not actually buying anything and/or looking to sample a perfume or a foundation, (which we all should sample before we purchase) then the employees completely disregard you. I'm not sure if they make some sort of commission of their sales but this small little Asian girl was the most unhelpful employee I'd ever encountered there; when I approached her it was as if I was bothering her- very rude. What a pleasant experience today! I stopped into Sephora because I had a small gift card there and needed another brow pencil. I had admired a friend's long lasting gloss that she said had purchased there (Clinique #15). I always check out new fragrances first and Shawn was the MOST EXCEPTIONAL assistant of all. Never pressured to buy, but only to try (& blend!) she provided me with expert help and a nice little sample to try out and then referred me on to someone who could help me with the brow & lip gloss selection . Onward to makeup. I had admired a long lasting gloss by a friend who said it was Clinique #15. Kelly led me through the various selections but most had a glitter quality that was not age appropriate for me. Kelly suggested another long lasting gloss, (NARS) applying several samples to her fair hand until we found one that was perfection. At check out, I was given several samples over & above what was being offered at the checkout station that were more appropriate to my skin type by the lovely clerk with the brilliant red hair whose name I cannot unfortunately remember, was ever so accommodating. If you find yourself at the South Shore Plaza in Braintree, please stop into the Sephora there. I have never been disappointed in there suggestions or in the pampering they show to young & old alike! I wasn't able to book an appointment for a custom makeover online because they were all booked up, so I came into the store to buy some makeup to try and do my own makeup.
