Her work was so good and her makeup suggestions so on point that I had her do my makeup too and I wasn't even going anywhere. My daughter took a cold shower so she wouldn't mess it up for the ball. We bought most of what she used. I've been wearing mine daily to work and I don't usually wear makeup but this one is so nice and natural that I love it. Thanks Kendra. You're awesome!

Everyone here is so nice whether I am just picking something up that I ordered online (as I did this morning), or answering my stupid cosmetic questions (that was me a few weeks ago). I have mixed feelings about this Ulta location after visiting on this day…read more I was already shopping around at Arsenal Yards & wanted to grab some makeup goodiesi put in an online pickup order via Ulta app while I was shopping around. My order was supposed to be ready in about an hour & the store inside wasn't busy, so I went in to ask if I could help pick out the items I purchased for online pickup and bring it to the counter to scan out to quicken the process. The store associate told me that this works, so I went to pick out all the stuff that I had placed an order for and brought it to the counter. Then she proceeds to try to charge me for all the items I gave her to scan instead of just going by the online order. I guess she didn't know how to do online pickup orders and got confused but she wanted to refund my online order and have me repurchase everything. I didn't want to do this since I didn't really see the point in doing so. Instead, I just waited until my order was fulfilled later in the day & picked up my order an hour after all of this. I feel like an online pickup order shouldn't have been this difficult & if my order couldn't be fulfilled in time or earlier, it would've been okay to have said so.

Jessica, who worked with me is an awesome saleslady and spent a lot of time with me, explaining all the products and trying a lot of them on me. I really enjoyed having her there since I am not too familiar with Lush products other than the very few that I already own. She was very well informed and very knowledgeable. The products here are awesome! I love all of the fragrances of the soaps, lotions and creams. The soaps are very colorful and it is so hard to pick which ones I want to buy. It is a store I could easily get lost in. They sell their soaps by weight, so you can tell the saleslady how much you're looking to spend and they will cut you a piece of soap, tailoring it around the price that you are willing to pay for it. The soaps last a long time and I speak from experience because I have owned several of them. They are of excellent quality. They have a masque bar there with masques that are refrigerated but they have some out in bowls, sitting on ice so you can try them out before committing to buy. I tried on two of them and decided on one of them. I loved both so it was really hard to pick. The saleslady was nice enough to also put together a small container of the other one that I had tried on that I could take home for free just to try it out and maybe if I like it enough I can go with that one next time. She also included a little travel size of a cream that I was looking at along with the items that I was going to buy so I could try that out at home. Excellent service, great shopping atmosphere, nice products, excellent quality and lots of fun to be had in this store. If you ever get a chance to come to this place you should go for it!

All was not lost as Sylvia was helping us and offered several different options for my mom to try. She was super helpful, even helping my mom get the shoes on and lacing them up. I can't remember the last time I've seen that level of assistance in a shoe store. She was absolutely fantastic with my mom, answering questions and even showing her a special way of lacing her sneakers to help prevent heel slippage. My mom ended up getting two pairs of shoes that she said were so comfortable, and raved about Sylvia to the woman at the register. I took a star off as I'm a size 11ish and can rarely find shoes that fit me-most shoes only had sizes up to 10 available, but I'm so glad my mom had such a great experience today.

The store is well stocked with a variety of Asian (mostly Chinese but also Japanese and Korean) beauty products and supplies/stationary along with some snacks. It gets easily crowded in the shop so be prepared to dodge other customers eyeing the makeup section. The unfortunate thing about this store is that some of the price labels are not placed properly or placed at all-- it kept me guessing at what the prices of some of the products were. I could've asked the employees, but who wants to ask the staff every time they want to know how much a product costs? Just a fair warning that you really SHOULD however get the proper pricing of these products prior to purchasing because some of these makeup/beauty products must be imported and therefore MUCH more expensive than if you would purchase them from an online supplier. My total came out to nearly $50 (yes, you read that right. 50 bucks) and all I bought were 4 products: an eyeliner, hand sanitizer, hand cream and dispoable razors. You can't even return these products because RETURNS ARE NOT ALLOWED. I'm sad I even joined the rewards program because I was charged 5 bucks for the keychain tag thing they give rewards members. The employee DID tell me this prior to me joining, but I didn't hear her properly because I was shocked at the additional charge when I did receive my receipt. I even saw that they were selling a limited edition Asian Starbucks tumbler for a whopping $64. I'm giving 2 stars for the fact that there are some great variety of Asian beauty supplies (some reasonably priced, others not so much) offered at Tao's as well as for the very friendly employees who came by to ask if I needed anything several times.
