I already had a facial scheduled and she agreed to fit me in for a wax beforehand. I am the most squeamish person when it comes to waxing (I used to take 2 shots before my waxes). She gave me the most pain-free wax, and I had no post-wax rash like I usually did. (I'M a redhead). I've been going for 3 years, now, and recommend her to all of my friends and clients. 2. The best facial I've ever had. Ever. I try to go as religiously as possible. I had acne from age 8 to 22. Enlarged pores and scarring galore. A few treatments with microderm and peels helped so well that I got to switch from full coverage foundation to a light powder. Cannot rave enough. Additionally, my mother HATED facials. She never felt a difference. I bought her one for Christmas and she came out AMAZED and would not stop telling her friends about it. Alicia's ability to custom tailor the facial to your skin and get you what your skin needs is 3. The product. Def try the M61 Power Glow Peels... they show results immediately. The girls are all extremely knowledgeable about the skincare they offer, and their competitors' brands. It's like Disneyland for make-up lovers, and skincare fanatics.

I was so relieved to be greeted by a really nice girl who couldn't have been any friendlier (Friday 12/8 at 10am, Rep #66809 on the receipt); if she had been there two days before, I wouldn't have been so aggravated about the store to begin with! This girl was definitely 5 stars!! The bad one: I placed an order online at 6pm on Monday night, they closed at 8pm so I was hoping for a confirmation that it was ready to pick-up before then, and when I still had not received anything in the morning I decided to just stop in. Arrived at the store at 10:50 on Tuesday morning (December 5) and was greeted by a blank stare and more of a bored "hello" rather than anything else. I said I had placed an order online the night before, had not received a confirmation that it was ready to be picked up, but I was at the mall for something else and wanted to stop in. The store had been open for 50 minutes at that point, she looked aggravated and needed to log into the computer and said she hadn't had a chance to do that yet. Wouldn't that be something to do BEFORE opening??? With a snooty attitude (and maybe a French accent?) she asked for my name, and I was happy to match her snooty attitude with being able to tell her my French name. She put the $80 shampoo and conditioner in a bag and that was it. Thankfully this was for someone else, but it still made me think "who would want to shop here with that attitude?". All was made better by the nice girl who was working when I returned it (friend thankfully decided she is tired of their hair products).

Sometimes I need to ask for help here but the last time I was in on a random weekday they were super helpful and researched their stock to determine they definitively didn't have what I was looking for (an SPF cushion compact). If you come on a weekend be prepared to spend a considerable amount of time looking for parking and or walking here from your spot.

They have just about everything you would find at a larger Sephora but may have less inventory available for purchase, though I haven't experienced this issue. My favorite Sephora to go to is the Prudential store in Boston because they offer a larger selection of brands in store, but this store does the job as it's convenient for me to restock my makeup products/skincare when I'm doing some shopping at Legacy Place. Staff is super nice here and always down to help with finding products. Parking: lots of parking available but depending on the time of the day, parking spots are more limited. There is a free parking garage to park at though!

It's a little dark inside, contrasting with many of the brightly lit boutiques on Newbury Street, but the darker interior adds to the relaxing, spa-like atmosphere. Products are stocked on shelves along the walls, while the center of the store is devoted to trying the products. Every item they sell is available as a tester on the center table. The table has a sink at the end so you try products such as their cult-favorite hand washes. Customers can test products to their hearts' content. They even have towels of terrycloth rather than paper to dry your hands with. It's a nice touch that elevates the experience of trying products in a store. The music playing in the store was relaxing and further added to the tranquil atmosphere. The Aesop associate was very nice. She was very knowledgeable about the products and was able to recommend a moisturizer for me. She gave me samples when I checked out and placed my purchases in a white muslin drawstring bag that is unique to Aesop stores. She spritzed the bag a couple of times with one of Aesop's aromatherapy sprays, so I could take the Aesop experience out of the store with me. Aesop has a reputation for being very pricey, but many of the items are comparable to other high-end brands and stores. The Aesop store was a great place to take a little breather from the city while treating myself to some divine-smelling products.

The proprietor is a quiet and nice man who was able to pinpoint the right product for me based on my request for something subtle. There have been a few unjustified bad reviews that I've read, and I have to blame the reviewers who are more likely the problem. Simply put, if you're going to shop retail, then purchase from retail. Don't walk in and try a bunch of fragrances then buy online to save a few bucks. Do the right thing by merchants that have rent to pay and operational expenses.
