It is very upsetting I have to write this. I came by to pick up my birthday gift yesterday, which was the Kerastase hair case set which came with a 15 mL elixir ultime hydrating hair oil and the 30mL night serum. I have been using the same Kerastase Elixir Ultime Hair Oil for almost 2 years now and I very much love this product. When I opened my gift, I realized that the 15mL Elixir Ultime was just half full, which I found shocking. I came by today to let the associate at the counter know, telling her I opened the box like that - brand new not used, and asked her for another one. She opens the drawer to pull out another box, takes out the Elixir Ultime Hydrating Oil to check that it was more full, and puts it back inside and throws the box on the counter instead of handing it to me. I stared at her thinking she was going to ask me for my phone number to verify that I did indeed come by yesterday or tell me "Have a good day" but she doesn't say anything. I take the box from the counter where she threw it and tell her "Thank you very much". This might have been a free product, but something I was really looking forward to. Imagine my disappointment seeing that the bottle was half full, wondering if someone had used that product before me or some other error. On top of that, her attitude was completely unacceptable and not how you should be treating customers. This encounter felt really disrespectful. I am very disappointed. I just came into this Sephora to buy some gifts for my sister's birthday and I ended up buying 6 fragrances from this cool and outgoing sales assistant Valerie. Valerie had the most awesome vibes and is very customer service oriented.. Lei Lei also helped with helping me decide on choosing my gifts. Malika was awesome too with her attentiveness and cool outfit she rocked Sephora as well. Excellent store, amazing staff a must try for people looking for a fabulous experience. read more

I make it a point to support businesses in my borough, but often times, I come to this store and they don't have the items I'm looking for. I understand they can order and ship, but this idea does not work for all customers. Today I stepped in for gift cards, they have three gift cards, available and no envelopes. The manager was aware that they ran out of cards, and casually said, "we ran out today." I guess this is what happened when you have children running your store. I was looking forward to my full face makeup appointment, as I've had it done here before, but I was so disappointed with my session. My makeup artist was very nice but did not listen to any guidelines or descriptions I gave. Minimal coverage, natural and neutral look, turned into full coverage and caked on greasy makeup. When I said I wasn't happy with how it turned out, she just added more makeup making it worse, greasy and unflattering. I don't know where the misunderstanding was but it was very disappointing. Ever since my friend Stephanie pointed out that my foundation shade isn't a match to my skin tone. Of course, that has been on my mind! Four years ago, when I started wearing No 7 foundation...I honestly look like Casper the Friendly Ghost and this summer I looked like The Mask...yes the movie with Jim Carrey LOL I love that there's a Sephora located at the lower level of the Bay Terrace where I can walk over from my house. I stopped by this afternoon and got some pretty good beauty advice from Claire. I just show her the L'Oreal Paris' bottle and she can tell it was a neutral color...wow pretty impressive! I told her that I have dry skin and I just have on some face moisturizers. Luckily, we were standing right in front of the NARS Sheer Glow Foundation line. Claire applied one of the shades on my face but I didn't like it then she applied another shade...Ooooo I do like it! The Light 6 Guadeloupe shade was a winner =) I asked if I should use a cosmetic wedge or makeup blender and she thought both were fine. She also mentioned wetting the makeup blender...what!?! I never wet it though...I am so clueless when it comes to makeup I didn't even hesitate about how expensive it was and I just went on the line to pay for it. I had a big bday celebration, and after my wonderful experience in Sephora Bellmore, I opted to go to Sephora again , this time in Bayside. It started BAD for the moment I walked in. Leilani was the artist and when I informed her it was my bday she said "OMG SO MUCH PRESSURE". I had a eyeshadow design I had picked to match my outfit. They didn't have "navy" eyeshadow. So she and several others were scrambling to make a navy colored eyeshadow. I showed her what I wanted and she seem confused and said to another artist-"look at this - do you know how to do this?" The girl replied that yes she did. I said at that point if she can do it then fine -I want one person to start & finish my makeup. To which the other artist said - I'm not available. So Leilani started to experiment and try and do the design I wanted. SHE FAILED MISERABLY. I was extremely upset and asked to speak to a manager. I had a 5:15pm appointment and at this times it almost 7pm. I spoke to one manager who was very condescending and short with me. I don't know her name but was african american and had a long weave. She went to the back a few times and was talking to another associate. I informed her I had to be somewhere at 7:30pm. She told me to wait. I waited then the associate she was talking to came over to ask me what transpired. I explained and asked whos going to do my make-up? Her name is Elijah and she said I guess I'll have to finish it. It was as if it was a huge inconvenience for all involved. I showed Elijah the picture to which she responded "Oh No -you cannot get this eyeshadow design done!!! You have a HOODED EYELID. (I've never been told that ) Well didn't your artist LEILANI know this. If that was the case I would have chosen another design. Didn't realize or check my receipt until I got home and when I went to a different Sephora, they told me I could return it and get my gift card balance back but I'd have to repurchase with my own money (?) to get the discount. It's great to have a Sephora in Bay Terrace, otherwise customers would have to drive all the way out to Roosevelt Field (which happens to be closed or often slow moving lines) or Queens Center Mall which is a small store. It would be nice to have a Sephora at Americana Manhasset. This Sephora enforces the number of customers shopping inside at once. A line usually forms out the door. I'm usually able to get the cosmetics I need since it's a large Sephora. I did come here once to get my makeup done but the artist was not enhancing the features and used way too much product instead. read more

I got a full face makeover with Claire yesterday for a wedding. She explained every step and made sure I was happy with result before moving on to the next thing. Every time I come in the Sephora with my daughter the guy hawks me as if my daughter is going to steal something... instead of saying hi can I help you find something to make my purchase faster and smoother I had to help myself and I got red lipstick all over the sleeve of my white Burberry jacket because a red lipstick was in a place is wasnt suppose to be thanks for keeping your store so dirty and floor reps doing nothing !!!! The manager (nice white guy) at this location is absolutely amazing. He was knowledgeable about the products and not pushy at all. I dont know about most people but I like to see things in person before buying them. Skincare I always buy online, but makeup products like lipsticks, foundations, and shadows, (well basically all things makeup) I prefer to see in person before purchasing, so I take many trips to sephora to check them out. This sephora, albeit smaller than most, is a good one. It has most things most sephoras carry but there were some products that I wanted to check out and was told they didn't have them at that store. The staff is always nice, and willing to help tho, so that's a bonus. They're doing a great job of social distancing, cleaning everything, especially the checkout counters. They literally wipe down the counter and credit card machine after every customer. And people are not allowed to touch any testers. Great job guys! read more

Love this store. I have been a Sephora customer for years, alternating between VIB and VIB rouge depending on how much I spend in a given year. I recently came here for a custom makeover and could not believe how good the makeup was. My artist, Tiffany, was amazing. The makeup was flawless and I could not have been happier. I bought every single thing she used and she walked me through what she was doing so I can repeat the look with enough practice (hopefully!). Honestly, there have been times when I walked out of a custom makeover session and ended up washing off the makeup and doing it myself because of how unsatisfied I was. Not at this location though. Huge product selection, the place is always clean. The associates are super friendly, but never pushy. Definitely my go-to store. read more

I went in with my niece and my daughter, Matthew was so patient helping us get the correct shade of cover up for our complextion. This is without a doubt the best Sephora in the area. As any new place, they're still getting into the swing of things but I had an overall good experience. I had a makeup appointment for 2pm on a Friday, and I got 7 texts reminding me of said appointment (no exaggeration, 7 texts from 7 different numbers). I then got a phone call that day confirming my appointment. I arrived 10 minutes early, and checked in with an employee. Even though I made my appointment online and received a confirmation, they did not have me on their list and told me I could probably "fit in somewhere." The girl who did my makeup was Amy- super sweet and super personable! She really listened to what I was asking for and did a great job. The custom makeup appointments are scheduled for 45 minutes, but she really took her time and even cut into her lunch break to make sure I loved how I looked. The whole process took longer than I expected, but in a good way. I highly recommend you request Amy if you're looking to get your makeup done for a special event. I took off one star for a combination of things- first was the scheduling. The second would be they were out of a product I was looking to buy, which was coincidentally sold out in another local Sephora I visited. As a new store, I thought they would have it in stock (it's a simple NARS concealer, nothing crazy). The third reason would be in regards to the custom makeover- I know I had to spend $50 on products, but I felt pressured to spend much more. While I was getting my makeup done, the manager came over and praised my makeup artist for how much she was able to get her previous client to spend. This was awkward for me, mostly because I knew then that woman who had her makeup done before me spent much more than I would (and could!) Overall, definitely a great addition to the Bay Terrace Shopping Center and I would return here over the Austin St./Queens Center location any day. read more

With that being said, their inventory on items isn't the best and their selection is small compared to other Sephora stores i visited. It is the smallest store I've been to and the only thing that i would come back for is the friendly staff. If I'm looking to stock up on items though, I'd have to opt to go to a larger Sephora with better selections. read more

Feel free to come here to try out their mini facials, makeup​ tutorial classes, and of course come here to sample out the vast seas of makeup​, skin products, perfumes. There's this guy there who usually stands by the front door and he's a breath of fresh air in this day and age. I didn't get his name which is rude on my behalf . Their selection is very limited, and I find they're usually out of stock on what they do have. With the exception of a few, their sales associates are uninterested in helping and do not know their products. Many times I've asked for something oil or silicone free, and have been recommended something with oil or silicone. Also, if you're not interested in purchasing the first thing they recommend they just leave you to figure it out yourself. The only reason I gave three stars is because it's a Sephora so how bad can it be! ;) read more

OMG MY FAVORITEEEE SEPHORA!! Way better than QCM. Sabree is amazinggggg. I booked a makeup appt for my graduation & of course I showed up late. She did tell me she would only be able to do a quick 15 min look since i was late but she would try to do as much as she could. She ended up doing my full face & I couldn't have been more pleased with the results. She gave me exactly what I wanted & even gave me skincare tips. Every step of the way she was telling me what she was doing. I can tell she's very knowledgeable. Thank you so much Sabree - you made a stressful day so much better.
