This store (and all other Duane Reades as far as I know) and now becoming Walgreens. Despite the big Duane Reade letters above the store, the front doors now have temporary paper signs that read "Walgreens". I recently picked up some photos and posters here from their photo center and they did a phenomenal job! The order was quickly processed and created within 2 hours of sending them over through the website.. talk about efficient! It's great to know that there is a reliable Walgreens for me to use in Bayside. They will now become my go-to Queens location to use. read more

This Duane Reade has been in a strange retail limbo for a few years now. It was never fully converted or upgraded to a modern Walgreens, and it really shows. The entire store feels incredibly dismal, dreary, and dated. Between the dim lighting, the prehistoric layout, and several sections that are visibly in rough shape, the whole place feels like a time capsule from the 1980s. It is a vital neighborhood outpost for the Bayside community, so hopefully, corporate gives this location the full modern renovation it desperately needs sooner rather than later. The only saving grace here is the people. Despite the grim atmosphere of the building itself, the staff is genuinely great, helpful, and professional, especially the pharmaceutical staff. read more

The service at the pharmacy is just amazing. Amazingly lacking. Lacking in service. Lacking in tact. Lacking in timeliness. Lacking in finesse. Most of the times there's barely any hello and definitely no thank you. You get asked "what's your name?" And then the meds are handed to you with a face that looks like he's annoyed to have you there. This is usually the big tall guy. That's when he's not yelling at you. If I were just rating the pharmacy itself I would give it zero stars. The rest of the place pulled it up by 2 stars as it's just another regular store. read more

Review of my pharmacy experience. I woke up not feeling great. Went to urgent care. Got a prescription and picked it up here. Got a second opinion at a different doctor and that doctor gave me a more confident diagnosis and a prescription for a "better" version of the original prescription. When I came back I was told couldn't return the first drug (which I expected) and to come back in 20 minutes. Got a call from Epha, the lady behind the counter a few minutes later. She was able to apply what I paid for drug one to drug two. In an age where customer service is dying and the bare minimum is accepted Efia went the extra mile. read more

I wouldn't even give them 1 star , I am currently on hold fir 43 minutes to speak to a pharmacist. Every time .I go in to pick up my meds someone is yelling at them or the meds aren't ready . Unfortunately this is closest location to my home that my insurance company. Deals with . The worst service , I have ever incurred with any pharmacy in this country . It's Obvious they do not care about there customers, And are making way too much $$$ , to deal with phone calls and timely filling of prescriptions . I have been trying for the past 1.5 hours to get someone from the pharmacy on the phone regarding a medication issue that I must have resolved today. I have placed 3 calls: i was on hold the first time for 10 minutes before the call was terminated. I was on hold the second time for 15 minutes before being cut off. I was just hung up on after being on hold for 34 minutes. the pharmacy closes at 6 and it is past 4 pm now. Appalling. read more

DO NOT USE THIS PHARMACY!!!! Cannot get any prescriptions right. When you call, they put you on hold 4 or 5 times. Typical 45 minutes hold time just to find out if Rx is filled. Cannot consistently deliver meds even if you live 1 block away and on auto-delivery! Rude, incompetent. Pharmacist Noel is a doll, but you cannot get to talk to him. Techs say, "We're busy." Everyone is busy, but that's no reason to be rude or not to do your job! If you're elderly, they talk to you like you're a stupid fool. The young dark haired fresh-mouth kid is still there after telling an elderly woman, "Take your old-ass self to another store." I watched it and reported it to the manager. Still there. I can understand some of the negative reviews. Usually their employees are friendly and the store is at a convenient location. However, the young female cashier I came across today needs customer service training. I made a purchase today and she was pushy for a donation and, when I declined, claimed they had no change and pocketed my money, with no apologies. Very bizarre. read more

I came here for liquid Advil & Neosporin. I found what I was looking for. Happy that the items I needed were on sale. I ended up spending $12 in total. That made me happy because drug stores tend to be on the expensive side for no reason. The sales associate that rung me up was very polite & professional. Unpleasant experience only because of the rude cashier. She did not smile nor greet me. She was busy talking to another employee. The least she can do is say hello. I do not know why the manager does not train the staff here on providing courteous, friendly customer service. This place has expensive items and does not provide big discounts like Rite Aid so the least the customers can get is some respect. read more

This review is for pharmacist Ruta! A gem, and we need more pharmacists like her! Yes, I've been to this Duane Reade (and others and CVS and Rite Aid) with a large crowd build up, but last night Ruta did my dad a solid. His insurance only covers Duane Reade and he was discharged late from the hospital, giving us limited options as to where to fill his scripts. I called DR, and Ruta gave us alternative 24-hr DR options, but also checked and said that she was sure to have the 3 meds he needed and would wait past her shift to make sure we got them. Not only that, but she went over the scripts with me on the phone to make sure the MD/PA had filled them out appropriately (they hadn't!) so I was able to get someone to review them and fill them out correctly before leaving the hospital. We arrived at the pharmacy, gates down (way past closing time for them), and Ruta was standing by to fill our scripts immediately. 11 stars for Ruta! (And, hoping I spelled her name correctly.) read more

Consistently poor and slow service. This pharmacy is conveniently located yet I am still compelled to switch to CVS miles away. Prescriptions never ready on time, and they lie about whether it is available and what time they will have it today was my last visit. read more

I walked into this Duane Reade at 11am, I asked the manager, who was very nice, if they do FedEx drop off, she said yes and to wait in line up front. I did as she told, but the lady at the register was a different story. I dropped off my package and had to input my phone number into the FedEx device to track my package. I entered my phone number in but it didn't accept it. She looked at it, said that there's nothing she can do, and just went on doing something else. She didn't even bother checking or anything. She totally did not care, was not friendly, and her attitude was not too professional. I can see why there's so many negative reviews with this location. read more

I buy a 4 button battery packet of CR 2025 batteries on a regular basis. I get them on Amazon for $5.95 I needed them in a pinch and told my daughter to pick them up for me and she purchased them here and they charged her 16 dollars, what a ripoff. read more

I was browsing the isles when an elderly lady was brought inside the store. She fell outside and her face was bleeding badly. They need to change the people that work in the pharmacy department. I had surgery and had my prescriptions since to this pharmacy for the first time and have never seen staff so disgruntled nasty and non-customer oriented. The line was very long and they treated everybody like they could not be bothered. This is not consistent with Duane Reeds that I am Used to patronizing. Still the same sub-par service with the pharmacy staff who seem like it pains them to be customer friendly as well as not occur to them to be attentive to customers. as the last time I was there they just looked and continued on with their business behind the counter. No. I will be right there, or good morning I will be right with you. Reminds me of high school and kids who were never taught grownup real world interactions. Clerk staff are unhelpful as well, although there was one gentleman who is new and is quite friendly and personable. I am astounded that this has been the status quo for years at this pharmacy store. One of my worst experiences at ANY retailer...ever! I ordered photos online last night, got an email saying they were ready for pick, and then I went to the store to pick up and HAD TO WAIT cuz they were still working on the order! Why tell me it's ready when it's not?! I could've done something else instead of standing around waiting! The manager Melissa saw that I was clearly pissed off, but she just said "it's Snapfish's fault" for sending an automatic email that my pics were ready. Great...pass the blame instead of looking in the mirror. She didn't try to apologize for making me wait. She even told me that I wasn't the first customer who had this problem! Uhm, if more than a couple people complain, don't you think that there's a PROBLEM here?! I know that I'm NEVER going to DR again. I'll just spend my hard earned $$ elsewhere. read more

This store is so neat and clean and the entire staff is quite helpful when your trying to locate a product, everyone in the pharmacy greets you with a smile and reminds you when a medication is running low and needs a new prescribtion and the happy to call your doctor for the required refills. Its great shopping this not only for my medication and my 101 year mother but its nice to see smiling faces makes for a great day....Thanks to all at the Bay Terrace Duane Reade for your excellent service.. read more

This is the worst pharmacy I have ever dealt with. For one prescription and to have an error fixed I had to go back three times and I just realized I need to go back so they can correct another error they made! This is perhaps the most ridiculous experience I have ever had at a pharmacy. The staff is seemingly untrained and unable to fix errors on their own system. This is a miserable place- I feel uncomfortable getting in there. You go to the pharmacy and they tell you the medicine is not in stock- yet after that they find out they have it.
