I only hope others are never in the situation I was in on Monday morning. It was the day of my father's funeral and my mother was extremely sick with vertigo, (nausea, vomiting, dizziness) She could not get out of bed. We were able to get in touch with her ENT who prescribed some medication. However, try finding a pharmacy that will answer the phone and accommodate our needs immediately, not so easy. You see it was 8:00 AM and my mother needed to arrive at the funeral home before 10:30 AM. The ENT Doctor assured us if my mother could get the medication in her system it should start to work and she could be up on her feet in a couple of hours. Now I had to find a pharmacy that would contact the Doctor, fill the prescription and have it ready for me in minutes, basically impossible. So I thought. Well, Town offered the impossible. I called one hour before they opened, only expecting to leave a message. When miraculously, Alan picked up the phone. I explained the situation and received the exact response I wanted but never expected to get. "Give me the Doctors number, get here ASAP, knock on the door because the store will still be closed but I'll have everything ready for you". At 10:15 a.m. my mother was able to walk into the funeral home and say her final goodbye to my father. Thank you Town Pharmacy and Thank you Alan, A Real Life Super Hero. read more

When I first came upon this page, I thought I'd accidentally stumbled upon the wrong pharmacy. So many glowing reviews. Nothing but praise from my friends and family for Town Pharmacy. How is that my wife and I had the exact opposite experience as all these people have had? Well, when the owners of said business decide to sell it two weeks after you enroll your prescriptions. So basically, you can pretty much disregard all of the reviews up until November 2025, as they were posted under Town Pharmacy's previous family-owned front. I don't know who these new guys are, but this place is as hot of a mess as it gets. Nobody currently working here seems to have any idea what they're doing. They consistently get confused. I've called three times asking to have the same two prescriptions refilled and delivered to my home. Each time, nothing was done. In one instance, someone answered and asked me to "Call my doctor to get the ball rolling" while he worked on getting my order. Uhh...isn't that what I just called YOU to do? The venerable icing on the cake was one morning when my wife called to order her insulin. She was told it would be delivered same-day. Gets a callback a little time later: "Sorry, it's too dark out. Someone will come tomorrow." It was 4pm. My wife and I were left speechless. Until, and IF, this place gets its act together, I'd avoid this pharmacy. Already, reluctantly, in the process of moving my scrips to Walgreens. read more

Unfortunately, Alan and Eldon sold Town Pharmacy and it has gone downhill fast. The new owner runs a poorly reviewed pharmacy in the Bronx and he is destroying the integrity and trust that Eldon and Alan built. There is no longer reliable customer service, the new manager has no knowledge of the fundamental health care equipment needed by an aging or ill population, the place looks like a pig sty and the new manager is making mistakes in filling prescriptions. They no longer handle customers with any degree of politeness, respect or professionalism. I'm not simply disappointed or dissatisfied, I am alarmed by the poor judgment shown by the new owner and new manager. I am taking all of my business to another Great Neck pharmacy that is worthy of my trust and business. read more

After calling 8 pharmacies and failing to find a pharmacy that had a particular prescription in stock for my mother, I left a message for Town Pharmacy describing what was needed. Alan called me back within the hour and told me they had the medicine but in a larger dose. He then explained to me that the doctor could change the prescription to match his supply and cut the pill in half. He also said that the very expensive medication had a free trial period (not disclosed by other pharmacies that I spoke with) and he would apply for the coupon. I was able to get the much needed medication the following morning from Town with helpful suggestions regarding its use. We will be switching our prescriptions to Town in the future. read more

I wish the stars were infinite, because Town Pharmacy would have them all! I am a relatively new customer, who began our relationship with a problem. Once Town Pharmacy was made aware, my problem was resolved (something no other pharmacy within 20 miles was able to do!). They immediately got to work and called me to say I was all set. "Would you like it delivered?" I had to pinch myself, as i don't live in the neighborhood and they responded so quickly! The concern for me and the interest they took, absolutely overwhelmed me! These guys go the extra step. My family has been using Town Pharmacy for a couple of years. We have 5 kids and several different medical conditions that require some pretty expensive medicines. Getting the health insurance company to cover them is a problem. Getting the doctors to call the health insurance company is sometimes just as hard. Eldon and Alan make the calls. I don't know what they do, but they get things approved and paid for. I think they have a photo of each healthcare CEO in a closet with a goat. Whatever they do, they do it, and they get results. Delivery is never a problem. Need something done a little differently than usual? They will accommodate. They call the doctor to get you things the doctor meant to prescribe but wrote out wrong. If you're supposed to get brand and you got written for generic: they call the doctor. New health insurance company? They call for you. I don't know if you have had bad experiences with the health care system. I sure have. I have had to pay out of pocket for some very expensive meds while the insurance company drags its feet. I get paid back, but I'm out the cash while I wait. Who needs that? The store these gentlemen keep is clean and well stocked with various OTC meds. There are the usual bandages and the like. They have some weird, high end stuff, too; like mānuka honey, these pastilles from Switzerland in a cool tin, oil of oregano. Listen: I have been around. I don't have time to deal with people that can't get it done. These gentlemen get it done. If they say they are on it: they are on it. If they can't do it, they tell you and give you alternatives. When I say "highest recommendation" I don't say it lightly. I use Yelp to get the low down on businesses before my dollar gets laid down. I don't shill for any man. Highest recommendation. read more

New Pharmacy in Lake Success. I was very pleased with the service. Clean, open, and well organized. The pharmacist was polite, explained everything I needed to know about my medication, and asked about myself to make sure I was taking the right thing. Lots of nice products that you'd normally find in a pharmacy without the extra bloat you get at a major chain. My only negative is the parking lot, but that's not the pharmacy's fault. The market next door is busy during the day,and the elderly customers can't drive well, so the parking lot is confusing and sometimes dangerous. read more

I also moved my prescriptions from "you know where " -- no more Robo calls saying I am over due, drugs waiting for pickup waiting on line - and pitching quarters in the Gussack Plaza parking lot. Moving ( actually copying the prescriptions) took about ten minutes -- now I have the option of filling my prescriptions at "you know where" or at Town! Prices are the same for my drugs. Town is right next to North Shore Farms and free parking. The guys who Town are super friendly and informative. They call the Docs when I need a new prescription and also call me ( a human being calls me!) when my drugs are ready. The inventory is neat, easy to find, and much cheaper than the normal chain stores. The two men running it are kind and welcoming, and were even able to seamlessly transfer over my prescription from my old pharmacy which was way over charging me! I been coming to this pharmacy since they are grand opening. This place is professional and clean. The most important thing is giving the customer good care and help when they need it.
