the best of asia in america since 1932

One of the few Asian groceries open during this crisis. I think they are taking advantage because the prices of their non- perishable items are higher than the regular prices they had before. The perishable are somewhat close to the standard but noticed of course the limitations. My first time to be on this location. The smallest among the branches I had been went. Aisles are very narrow , meaning limited stocks and smaller parking spot. A disappointed visit as only few Philippines items are visible. Although it is the closest to my location, I will probably not coming back. I will go back to my go to location. During this crisis, they implementing social distancing protocol, providing gloves and wipes by entrance door and maintaining cleanliness of the store. The cashiers are efficient , do not smile though while helping.

Coronavirus Diary Day 71 - 5/24/2020 After being disappointed with the H Mart in Bayside, this one makes me feel safe by providing hand sanitizers and disinfectant spray at the entrance. Produce and fruits are cheap and plentiful this week. I've got good deals on clementines and strawberries. I also got 2 dozens of organic medium brown eggs for $4. Meanwhile, at the seafood section, tiger shrimp are on sale for $10.99/lbs! REMARK: I think you guys are confusing "Thai Basil" with "Taiwan Basil". There's Taiwanese Basil, but it looks different from what you have in store. Please correct it!

Don't go to any of the Hmart chain stores, we tried to exchange 1-bag of clementine (almost half rotten) but the ones at Greatneck Hmart also had pile of clementine bags in same condition. We tried to get money back but the female cashier looked at the receipt and told us to take it back to the branch we bought it from, the Hicksville Hmart. I used to think Hmart chain had standards but I have seen how corrupted they are selling bags of spoiled clementines and not accepting responsibility of Hmart chain stores by making you return it to the branch purchased. Learn from this experience and if you must shop there only shop at the branch near you so you can return items and beware of items on sale!

Full disclosure: I'm a discount card carrying fan of H-Mart and been to all of them in NYC. Now that's out of the way... This location just off out Northern Blvd feels small. Even the entrance is small and narrow. There are less free sample station too! Over-all the place is clean and has everything. There is a good food court across the parking lot.

H-Mart takes pride in their goods and it shows. Every item no matter Green veggies or cookies, ramen or rice, everything is clearly labeled and meticulously organized. I don't even bother looking at the signage overhead as each aisle is just the right length where you can get a bird's eye view of what it holds. This Great Neck location is always clean and they offer food sampling stations on the weekends. This is my ideal Korean Supermarket. I wish the Chinese ones were modeled after these chains. It'd definitely appear cleaner and smells better. Not dismissing my favorite local Chinese markets but there is something to be said when selling food that is more presentable and neatly arranged. Pricing wise, H-Mart can be up there especially based on individual locations. For example, the sales flyers vary store to store so the sales are not always the same. And read the fine print, it tells you wherever the prices are specific to (locations that honor them). I also like this market for it's community involvement and social stand on issues. They run local art contests, raise money for charity, and sponsor events for causes geared to children or families in general. That says more about the brand and their mission besides being a money making machine. Kudos to them for the local sponsorship and giving back to the people. They do offer price incentives as well if you register for a frequent shopper card. I always carry mine! BTW, my favorite items to buy here are the sushi grade fish, the prepared meals that you just have to reheat, their meat section (ribs are the best) and the best part is their fish market place. They have clear signage on how you'd like them to clean or prep your seafood of choice. This is a local favorite indeed.

I ended up coming here after I went to H Mart for grocery shopping. I usually go to the one located in East Wilson which is close to my house however I wanted to go to the bakery. I ended up finding exactly what I wanted from this H Mart I found that this particular H Mart had more selections in terms of prepared foods like kimchi and packaged lunch that you can take to work or you can have in your fridge. I got a little hungry after grocery shopping so I went across the grocery store and I ended up taking advantage of the food options that were available. One of the things that I crave for is bento boxes I love the options the taste and the variety of what's in a Bento box. I ended up ordering the shrimp Bento box so it came with a California roll shrimp tempura and a salad I really enjoyed the bento box I felt like it was really simple it was a little pricey however I did like the little compartments in the bento box nothing was slipping or over spilling over when I was driving home so this was definitely a great spot

This H Mart is clean and spacious. There is a large variety of both American and Asian specialty products along with dairy, produce, seafood, and meats. I enjoyed browsing the aisles and purchased some basic necessities along with some prepared asian foods. The prices were average to high compared to similar products sold elsewhere.

Shopping has become a high intensity mental workout for me, I used to get hungry when I food…read moreshopped and now I completely lose my appetite and feel a food borne illness slowly creeping into my body as I enter. Before I go to a new grocery market to shop, I am not looking for price comparisons, I don't know exactly what I am looking for, maybe a sale on a mystery pallet liquidation of foods as shopping among people in tight confines is becoming more and more unpleasant. I would roll the dice and see what I get, like a gameshow - the showcase showdown. So I typed into a search "Long Island Grocery Stores" hoping to find some information that would keep me from my new phobias and here is what I got instead. 1. Shootings in the parking lots 2. Workers beating pork against the ground 3. Big stores buying the smaller stores and the accompanied protesters and some weird woman with a bleached blond helmet head that is a psychic(?) I saw someone with a salted and sweet-butter sweatshirt shopping the other day, she was in aisle 3 and breathing really heavy in front of the Redi Whip and talking muffled into her phone, she sounded like a dying saxophone. Being the overworked owner of a new business that focuses on gardening, I look to the produce first - Bell Peppers, 99 cents a pound, broccoli and eggplant the same - but I had to take a peek, just a little peek at the meats and a rumble began in my tummy. Porterhouses, ribs, and brisket will run you $8.99 to $10.99 per pound -- more for what they consider the better stuff - they never show those in their circulars. I talked to a neighbor that I was trying to avoid, she's a loudspeaker chattering whiny little bird but she is nice enough and means well. She saw me and cornered me to tell me about man and god and war and food prices, so i faked a smile and excused myself to get to the checkout line that gave me additional feelings of dread as the lines were long and slow. I took a deep breath and held it, I wondered if I could passout under the bright lights and get away from this experience as quickly as possible. Instead I resorted to steady breathing and went about the overpaying experience.

Great supermarket with nearly everything. Produce, fish, cheeses, olives, bakery? Dairy, Helpful…read morepeople, too.
