Overpriced products, limited selection, would not consider it a food mart but a small convenience store.

Note to self, no produce plastic bags ( bring your own if you like ). They have an amazing bakery section with some of the freshest breads around. Their cheese section ( mostly European imported cheese) is absolutely awesome and if you like imported German sausage then you come to the right place. Limited cashier line opened when we checked out but still only waited about 10 minute.

I pointed it out, and she had to call a manager to correct it. I then asked whether my $10 coupon had gone through on top of my other discounts. The cashier couldn't verify it, and when the manager came over and was aggressive from the start, she couldn't or wouldn't give me a clear answer either. I asked if she could simply check whether the coupon had been applied, but she kept saying, "What do you want me to do? I can't do anything," and repeatedly referred to it as only $10. She also said she "can't risk her family for $10." I found those comments completely uncalled for. This wasn't about the amount of money. It was about making sure my transaction was correct. I wasn't asking the manager to do anything unreasonable, and I certainly wasn't asking her to "risk her family." While this was happening, another customer became angry and started cursing at me in front of my family and young children. Neither the cashier nor the manager made any attempt to de-escalate the situation. The manager ultimately walked away and told me to contact customer service. Happened 8/30 6PM I'm not looking for reimbursement or anything over the $10. I'm asking that Lidl review how this cashier and manager handled the situation and whether additional training in customer service, transaction accuracy, and de-escalation is needed. This was the worst customer experience I've had in a long time. Mistakes happen, but customers should be able to ask reasonable questions about their transactions without being made to feel like they're causing a problem.

Whenever I'm getting home late from work and I don't feel like cooking or need some last minute…read moregroceries, I make a detour off the Clearview Expy and head to HMart. This store used to be a Waldbaums back in the day and had been taken over by the Korean supermarket chain. It's not as big as other HMarts in the suburbs, but definitely larger than others in Flushing, so can offer a larger variety of goods. The parking lot is also not as big and is full almost all of the time, but you can also park at the parking lot of the Webster Bank next door after hours or on the street. Grab a cart and start shopping! As you enter through the automatic sliding doors, sale items like toilet paper, snacks and rice are stacked high in the vestibule. The inner door opens into the produce section with stacks of Korean pears, fresh cut fruit platters and other exotic vegetables & fruits you would not find at your local Key Food or Stop-N-Shop. The Seafood section is also unique in that they stock live exotic species like abalone, sole, Asian hairy crabs & spiny lobsters. They also have sushi grade tuna, salmon, yellowtail & other sushi favorites. The prepared foods section is where I fill up most of my cart. Marinated chicken (boneless thighs, drumsticks & tenders), ribeye bulgogi, LA kalbi, spicy pork jowl & belly are available to take home straight to your stove or grill. The banchan section is extensive and takes up an entire wall of refrigerated cases as well as some in the aisles. If you don't even want to cook, get some hot prepared meals or something from the food court counter. Remember that the pre-packaged hot foods are 50% off after 5pm. For dessert, there is a Paris Baguette counter also. Order a custom made cake or pick up some pastries to go. If HMart were open 24 hrs, I might grab a comforter, roll myself up like a dumpling and never have to leave!

I usually go for the bugogi, which my daughter loves, and the frozen dumplings. But today, because after 5pm some prepared foods are 50% off, my brother bought 1 container of various sushi, 1 of nigiri, and 1 of BBQ ribs. I don't think you can compare this sushi with the sushi from a Japanese restaurant, but the ones that I tried were ok. Note the sushi usually comes with soy sauce, ginger, and wasabi that you can add. They also have a bakery, a loyalty program, and if you like to garden, Garden World is right next door.

There's a man outside spraying the carts before you enter and gives you some gloves too. Lines weren't too long when I went. All employees have masks and some event goggles. The cashiers have plexiglass around them now too. This is definitely not my first choice when it comes to Asian supermarkets, however it's pretty convenient given that it has a parking lot and not being located in the heart of Flushing's Chinatown. I find myself coming after having dimsum at Lake Pavillion. They have vegetables, meats, and seafood but the market is much smaller than most other markets and selections are limited. If you're looking for something super specific I would say your chances of finding it here are slim. The butchers are there to cut meat for you and nothing else. They don't have the patience for you to take your time in figuring out what you want. I always think it through before talking to them because they definitely gave me an attitude more than a few times here. People stocking shelves are nice or try to help you find things. They never seem to understand me though. I asked for dark soy sauce on my most recent visit and they didn't know what it was. The cashier ladies are fast. Note they don't give bags anymore so bring your own reusable bags.

She scanned them, slide them to the end, and when I asked her **in Mandarin** to put them back, she snapped, "我唔知,你沒問我,你要好好講先!" ("I didn't know--you should've asked nicely!") I replied **in Mandarin**: "我放進袋,你就應該放返入袋。" She was impatient, shoved them in rudely, and kept arguing with me first in mandarin and then in Cantonese about "what I'm supposed to do" and "what she can't do." Rude, defensive, and unprofessional--bad enough that I had to find a manager to complain on the spot. This kind of service is unacceptable. Hope management addresses it. #CustomerServiceFail Additional note: the ladies in the office added me to your WeChat group to post my complaint. Then when I posted it someone by the name of Sheng li removed me. I don't know what's the point adding me on WeChat and then remove my complaint without addressing it.
