Crab -- the main ingredient in Crabby Patties. #spongebob

After reading the previous reviews it is my opinion that had I not been on a lunch & shopping Sunday with my seventy three year old, very stern (to some fortunate folks) Shanghaiese neighbor, my experience could have been different. The butcher paid me no mind at all -- until Jimmy stepped forward, then the dynamic changed. Social interaction aside, the meats were very well displayed, very fresh, bursting with all of the colors deep red can recreate and put forth. I bought ten pounds of liver and ten of pork ribs, all well priced -- and served --- with a forced grin. The middle aisles lack organization and labeling and could use a dusting and hot cloth towel down on the cans and jars. Along the far perimeter there is a significant frozen food section with many products, if each item had it's own shelf, it would be a lot. There could have been two hundred different items. Fish section is the first area upon entry, the tanked fish looked miserable, the dead ones looked quite happy. They all had crystal clear eyes, glistening scales and not a single unpleasant oderiferious emination.

One of my favorite Chinese supermarket in Flushing, Queens. Prices were reasonable and items were fresh. I always bought the shrimp over there as it was on-sale almost every weekends.

. A nice supermarket rich in grocery items and competitive prices, unfortunately serving customers with such rude cashier.

This cashier was so rude. She threw the items when checking out and blaming me not taking the items from the grocery bags by myself (I had two bags at that time ). And she asked me to sign up for two times as she was not familiar with the machine . A nice supermarket rich in grocery items and competitive prices, unfortunately serving customers with such rude cashier.

There was that one time during covid that Yong Fa Supermarket sold lobsters here for ($6) a pound and lychee for ($4) a pound. The selection is quite small for a Chinese supermarket. I was not able to find a tea that I was looking for and the fruits are more expensive than other Chinese supermarkets nearby. The supermarket closes at 8 pm on the dot but at 7 pm the lights were dimmed, groceries were covered, and seafood/meats were all packed away.

It smells terrible in here. I couldn't stomach walking around to check out the place. As soon as I walked in I was smacked in the face with a strong fishy aroma. I located my avocados and headed straight to checkout. The cashier didn't acknowledge me nor answer my question. Instead she started to ring me up and cough all over the place. She didn't even cover her mouth. As she was coughing I said yuck rather loudly, but that didn't deter her. What a major infraction. She kept coughing even when I expressed my opinion. What I find somewhat hilarious is that she had the audacity to wear gloves to protect herself from germs, but didn't mind spreading hers all over the place.

The supermarket is convenient located a block away from the LIE 495 and on main street. Its not as busy as the main street by the 7 train, which makes this supermarket a lot less crowded than those on the 7 train side. They have their own parking lot, which is nice. However, if its all taken, its not a huge deal because there's residential parking right around the corner. Prices here are always around the same and things don't really go on sale. They have a great seafood section and you can tell the meat is always fresh since there's always a lot of people buying meats and seafood, you know that they always need to restock with new food. I don't like the cleanliness and the lighting of the supermarket, it appears to be rundown and old. But this place has been around for quite some time now. I think its time to make this place look nicer so that they can attract more customers.

(this is the only way I am able to describe her) On 11/15/2025 2:30- 3:00pm I simply asked to confirm my 10% discount in loyalty rewards for the promotion that began on 11/14 was applied to my final purchase. I was packing my items and could not monitor the transactions to verify. I confirmed that I had spent the required amount to qualify for the 10% discount and had clipped the rewards coupon digitally on line. The cashier called over one woman to verify this. She didn't seem to know so she then called the Asian woman. The Asian woman was abrasive and said I would only qualify if I spent the required amount during the promotion period. I verified I had. Then she insisted there was no way I could have clipped the coupon on line as she and/or management are the ones that have that authority to do so. I explained I was taught how to do this on line by one of their current employees and was unaware the practice had shifted. She took my rewards card and then came back quite some time later and rudely said " you got it already, look at your receipt!" I explained I had no receipt in my possession and hadn't even paid for my items. She kept demanding I look at my receipt. After feeling harrassed, embarrased and frustrated, I went to another woman who worked there - soft spoken with long curly hair (sadly I don't remember her name) who was kind enough to assist me. There have been reviews about this Asian woman's lack of professionalism and knowledge yet store management has chosen not to address this and instead will compromise customer service and experience. It's unfortunate as I truly believe so many employees here are caring and value customers and human beings in general but no consumer should have to be subjected to this conduct and behavior when buying weekly groceries. I am committed to supporting local businesses that value my patronage and this is not a place that does. Hopefully management cares enough to read this and make a difference.
