This is one of my favorite supermarkets. I love that they have a cold bar you can order from. The staff at the cold bar are always very friendly and happy to help. The tuna salad is so good that I always get it whenever I go there. Their produce is always very fresh. Everything is very organized here and it's easy to find whatever you're looking for. They even have homemade fig jams which is pretty neat. I also love the fact that they have Entenmann's cakes! You can never go wrong with those. I really hope this supermarket stays here forever bc it's such a cute and cozy market. There's nothing like it within this area. Will definitely be back! Recommend? 10 out of 10 :) read more

Don't rely on their posted schedule. They consistently close early and drop the security gates before 7:00 PM, turning away local customers who just got off work. If a business advertises being open until 7:00 PM, they should actually stay open until 7:00 PM. read more

I just came from Marino's Grocery at 163-07 29th Avenue, Flushing NY, 11358. I went with my husband to get groceries and as we were getting ready to check out the owner approached my husband and called him a different name (he called him Terry and my husband's name is Antonio), accused him of having previously stolen hundreds of dollars worth of meat with another guy who have never heard of (Chris). He told my husband he had him on video and when my husband asked to see the video, he told us he doesn't need a reason he just doesn't want him there and we need to leave immediately. We were ejected from the store, threatened with the police and told we are not allowed to shop there any longer. This came out of left field and it was humiliating. I'm also heartbroken because I love this store and I go there frequently. I am disabled and there are not many grocery stores nearby. We are shocked and humiliated. read more

A staple in the North Flushing area, this place is an old school Italian market stocking imported Italian goods, ranging from specialty cheeses, cured meats, pastas, marinara sauces, olives, breads and select Italian treats. Everything in the deli is fresh and put out daily. The employees are fast and cut the meat any way you want it. There are many options, you can't go wrong. Other grocery items, such as the basics; dairy, meats, fish, detergent, paper towels, coffee - one could easily make this a one-stop shopping excursion. Do yourself a favor and try the house made cheeses, I guarantee you'll be coming back for years. A business is always great when management can maintain a relationship with the community as evident by the manager (sorry, didn't get his name) coming out to give money to support the local Boys Scouts as the kids were fundraising outside the store. read more

Really cool little neighborhood market. It obviously doesn't have everything that a regular size supermarket has. MY experience in this supermarket was terrible... i have found mouses running around and i walk right out but this was not the first time, one time before one of the worker picked up a dead mouse in front of me with his bare hands and simply throwing it in the garbage can this is simply gross and disgusting ?? I love their new store! It's always super clean and very well stocked. Everybody is very friendly and they all provide a warm greeting every time you come in!! Makes you feel good, like you're family.. lol Anyway, It's nice to have a smaller, high quality, ITALIAN market in the neighborhood again. Their deli counter is unbelievable! They have a large selection of prepared foods that are delicious and also make hugeee delicious sandwiches and other things. As far as PPE goes, they are extremely clean! Definitely my go to place. The cashiers wipe down the credit card terminal after each customer and wear clean gloves and face masks. The guys wash down the carts often as well. Go check it out and be the judge! read more

I live in the Midwest. We don't have places like this and the ones we do have aren't as large and don't have this vast of a selection. The amount of premade salads and marinated peppers was amazing. There was any kind of Italian meat available. I went shopping with my friend in order to pick up some ingredients to make pizzas at home. The meatballs from Marino's were to die for. Love this market. Always need a good Italian market around. I'm here at least once a week. The deli is phenomenal offering a wide variety of Italian meats and cheeses. Produce is always fresh. Amazing how well stocked they remained during the pandemic/shutdown. I didn't have to go anywhere else for my groceries, including flour which was a hard find then. A huge plus is the genuine friendliness of ALL of the employees I've encountered. This is rare if ever! I give this place a solid 3.5 stars. The store is on the small side and the grocery part is simply ok. Nothing spectacular. Where they do shine is their meat section and deli counter. The pre-made food is simply delicious and the Italian imports are even better. Plus 18.99 for imported prosciutto is a win any day of the week. And they slice it so thin you can see through it without it falling apart. Although I've been to better Italian groceries this one does the job just fine. read more

Marinos is a good addition to the neighborhood. There are some positive and negative issues in the market. The product is very good as compared to other markets. The deli department needs help,as many times I have not received what I asked for.There are a couple of cashiers that are totally incompetent. This place is all about the deli counter and meat...and it is amazing, a true neighborhood gem. Marino's has the most flavorful and reasonably priced Italian deli foods in the area. Maybe in all of Queens! The level of quality has been consistently high for many years and I go there whenever I'm in the area. My favorites; the marinated mozzarella knots! They come in two varieties, the garlic and herb and Italian spices. Both are delicious and very special. The fresh smoked mozzarella is amazing too, so much so, that I almost don't want to buy it because I know I'll be eating it waaaay too fast :) We also recently got a fresh cut 1 lb. wedge of Reggiano Parmigiano (right off a huge wheel of cheese) that was perfectly sharp and delicious, possibly the best I've purchased in years, and far better than what you can get at the major supermarkets. The deli meats are also spectacular, in particular the slicing Sopressata and prosciutto di Parma. They also do a splendid job on traditional cold cuts, smoked turkey, roast beef, etc. They usually have anywhere from 5 to 10 guys frantically slicing away so you are sure to get fast service. Try not be intimidated by the ordering process. They work through the long line so fast that you can be standing close to the entrance, far away from the board with all the items being offered, when you hear a bold "NEXT!" In the back you have a great assortment of steaks, chops, chicken, and sausage, and they seem to have a very good turnover so you are always assured a good piece of meat in my opinion, whatever you choose. In fact, almost every time I'm here, I see the butcher coming out with some fresh stock, refilling the case. Just one aside, the regular stuff they sell, the household items, cereal, coffee, etc isn't usually a great value. I prefer to go to a store like Target for that, but in a pinch they do have other stuff. However, be prepared for $6 boxes of cereal and $12 bags of Starbucks coffee. For me, Marino's gets a wholehearted 5 stars. Check it out if you get the chance. read more

I love that this is my neighborhood market! If you're getting something from the deli counter, which everybody does, don't let the line intimidate you. There are so many counter guys that the wait isn't as bad as it looks. Unless you know when to go, then you really have nothing to worry about. Favorites include fresh salted mozzarella, the marinated bocconcini, homemade turkey breast (so juicy!) and roast beef, sausage & peppers, tripe in sauce, and their homemade vodka & marinara sauces - sold by the pint and quart. Definitely check out their catering menu and Wilson will hook you up with whatever you need! They also offer free delivery and setup. Don't miss the packaged Italian sweets in front of the deli counter. My equally favorite thing about Marino's is the staff. I've lived a block away forever and it's always comforting seeing friendly familiar faces (some of whom have aged, me not so much) whether it's in the market or around the neighborhood. read more

Hello Brendan, Thank you for reaching out but there're a couple of things I would like to bring to your attention. First and for most, there have been plenty of times where I've returned ground chop meat from the meat department because it was gray. I don't know about you but ground chop meat isn't suppose to be gray. Even the meatballs from the deli are gray. I've never ever had meatballs that were gray. Second, I noticed that throughout the past couple of weeks when I pick up food from the deli, the white label printed on the plastic container doesn't tell you the date when you picked up the food. Lastly, alot of the people working behind the deli are very rude and nasty. I could understand if sometimes it gets busy but there's absolutely no reason whatsoever why I should be spoken to like a child especially the individual with the blonde gold tee. Marino's is a wonderful mini supermarket with an Italian flair. The deli has delicious fresh deli meats (especially the Italian imports), as well as salads and prepared foods. The produce section is beautiful and vibrant. The aisles are chock full of standard products you can find anywhere, but there are also lots of Italian products that you don't normally see. For example Nutella, but not just the one that is made in Canada, but the one that is made in Italy (which really does taste better). Some things are priced really well and cheap, that it makes you do a double take, but other things are on the expensive side. All in all, it is a great neighborhood place to shop and get your Italian on! read more

I bought a package of chicken burgers stuffed with spinach and feta cheese recently. After baking it in oven, I took a big bite out of one and got a ball of dirt in my mouth. Perhaps the spinach wasn't washed thoroughly before it was mixed with the ground chicken I brought it back right away and showed it to one of the owners, and instead of apologizing, he was defensive. "This couldn't have happened; Everything here is clean", he said. I'm thinking to myself, why would I waste my time and drive 20 minutes to this market if this is how I am going to be treated. Returned to Marino's again for roast beef, ital. bread and salads A non-cooking night for the Mrs. Let me say that D'Alasandro's had the best roast beef in the world but yet, the worst salads. I rejected the first RB that was shown but another employee offered to open a new one. Looked much better but not great. Had to settle for it. Also ordered 1/2 lb of homemade pot. salad & mac salad. The RB with salt, pepper & mayo on it tasted good but not great. About 2 steps below what D'AL sold. The salads were very good, about 3 steps above D'al's. On my way out I decided to pick up some tomatoes. As I grabbed a plastic bag to put them in, I noticed a tip cup underneath the bags. WTH (heck) is this? I looked at the veg stand behind me and saw the same thing. Who am I tipping and for what? Hopefully it's the farmers. lol read more

Been shopping here since I moved to the Bowne Park neighborhood in 1983. Always was happy being here and found that whatever crazy thing I needed, they somehow had it. Satisfied customer. Today was extra special though---Brendan the manager saw I was having a bad morning and asked how he could help. I went grocery shopping here for Valentine's Day and I'm so glad I did. I ordered 1.025 pound of prosciutto for $19.46 and it tasted like just the one I ate in Rome. I paired it with Manchego and their homemade salted mozzarella. YOU MUST TRY THEIR HOMEMADE MOZZARELLA! I thought the man was hyping it up about how good it is, but my whole family was in love. Marino's Supermarket is great and a staple in our neighborhood. Many varieties in the deli and the manager, Brendan, is friendly and attentive to the customers needs. The down side are some of the the people who work in the deli. I have read from other postings complaining about rudeness and outright nastiness. Well, it is true. There is a certain gentleman which, I am biting my lip not to name, really irks me. I am a frequent customer and I always tried to avoid him from serving me. From past visits, I have heard this guy belittled non English speaking customers who try their best to order on what they need. This is totally uncalled for and I don't say anything. So, on a recent visit, this gentleman tried to pull his shenanigans with me but I wasn't going to stand for it any longer. I reported him to Brendan so hopefully his attitude improves for the customers sake. Brendan, You know who he is... This is the same nasty deli person, the blond guy with the goatee, that Sam L had issues with on his recent review on 12/24/19. read more

This type of deli is a dying breed in the New York but has maintained reasonable prices despite rising rents and no hassle internet alternatives. I come here solely for the deli department. The salads are so fresh and delicious. My favorite are the seafood salads. They change them up. They make an excellent shrimp and crab meat with mayo salad as well as a seafood salad which has cold shrimp and calamari. Definitely not cheap, about $9.99 a lb, but 100 times better than what you find at Waldbaums. Cold cuts are top notch and have all of your Italian favorites such as one of mine like Mortadella. Nice variety of cheeses in block and cut up. I haven't even mentioned a quarter of what they have. You really have to stop in and check out everything behind the deli counter. All of it looks so appetizing. You will easily walk out over budget and with more than what you came in for. Traditional Italian mom and pop mini supermarket where the staff is friendly. Deli counter is awesome. They're family owned and a much smaller place than the big chain supermarkets. They seem like they're a little more expensive sometimes as well. I've gotten catered food here for some last minute get togethers and everything has always been excellent. You can call and order over the phone, pre pay via credit card and then just run in and pick it up when its ready. If they're busy it can be a little crazy in there. Since its smaller the aisles are smaller and it can be annoying to weave around people. The parking situation isn't the best either as its street parking only. read more

Food from Marino Brothers' deli counter is always a must when I visit my childhood home. Why go here instead of a bigger grocery store? In addition to typical deli staples like meat, cheese and potato salad, Marino Brothers has a huge selection of prepared Italian foods, from marinated mushrooms, artichokes, and fresh mozzarella, to fried and breaded eggplant slices, various meat dishes, and desserts. I'm a big fan of the bocconcini with garlic and parsley. The line at the deli counter may look long, but it moves pretty quickly. Get some fresh bread to go with your deli items, like the bagel twist rolls they make on the weekends. The rest of the supermarket is rather small. If you're not picky about particular brands/flavors, however, you could probably do most, if not all, of your grocery shopping here. They also take catering orders and can make gift baskets. Wonderful store if you love Italian food, which, I hope, is mostly everyone. read more
