Your typical deli fare with some elevated ingredients - the chicken salad and tuna salad were satisfactory - didn't like their rolls so much so I'll stick to their other breads next time. Delivery driver super courtesy and pleasant. If you're looking for a nice lunch, this place is a solid pick. read more

Purchased a Turkey / Bacon Wrap. The Turkey was NOT fresh and the Bacon was ICE COLD and all full of FAT. It also came with lettuce. I do not know what type of lettuce they put on my sandwich, but it was so bitter. Also, purchased loaf of Bayside Milk Farms Italian bread over the weekend and it was NOT FRESH. Yoooo Queens is a sandwich borough and Bayside is a sandwich city. Bayside Milk Farm is a great local business. But there sandwiches are what this review is all about. I'm lucky to have to this fine establishment as well as Constantine's both in my neighborhood. Both of which are amazing. This place is a sandwich fans dream Every type of meat (not for me but I get it), cheese, veggie, tuna, salad, topping, side, entree, and desert (!!) is here and the staff really works well together to process the amount of sandwiches being custom made at any moment because this place has a reputation for a reason. Great little store as well to pick up groceries and etc but for me those deli cases and the breads and possibilities contained within are the true headliner. If you have never come here before, I would avoid coming here at Lunch Time. Just so you aren't here at the rush. Granted, I think their staff handles the lunch crowd incredibly well and are like a well oiled machine. Like it barely took me ten minutes the last two times I went in there during peak lunch hour. I just say this for the first timers just so you can really see everything in all the deli cases and not feel like thinking of your order is holding people up. Just saw this place as we were driving by looking for a Deli for sandwiches to take on our flight back home to Calif. Place doesn't look like a sandwich shop, ambiance looked more like an old time grocery store back in the 70s, when growing up back in NYC Chinatown/Little Italy, has almost every food items you could think of and need plus it serves Boar's Head meats, you know that's the good stuff, asked the man behind the counter "Do you make sandwiches here?, he replied "Yes, all day" and pointed to where the line starts. There were already shoppers in line picking up food from the counter and a young gentleman help us. Didn't really know what comes with the sandwiches but we asked, he said of course and got our orders, some chips plus my brother paid. At JFK airport, my said she was going to eat half and save the other half for the flight back to Calif. My wife got the turkey with lettuce and tomato with light mayo. She ate the whole sandwich and said she was hungry and the sandwich was good. She liked it better than the other sandwich shop we were at last. I got the ham and turkey sandwich with lettuce and tomato, both were on a roll. We will have to make another sandwich trip to this place when we are back in town. read more

I noticed this nice corner grocery store on a visit to my buddy who lives nearby and I couldn't believe I never saw it all these years of visiting him! He told me that this place, which is literally diagonally across from his place, was a true life-saver during Covid lockdown. I was getting a bit hungry and saw that they had sign for lunch specials, so figured that they should have some sort of prepared foods, though my friend wasn't sure they did. Well, I'm so glad I stopped by. Not only did they have food, they had a full deli which had 3-4 customers waiting in line (it was like 6pm on a Wednesday), many salad and platter food packaged to go, small case of meat that looked high quality, cheeses and cold cut corner, and many eclectic items you'd see from those international grocery stores. The vibe was that of a happening neighborhood gourmet supermarket, with that slightly crowded but familiar warm vibe. It was bright and clean, with good service from energetic people. There were only 2 cashiers so I waited in one of the two queues which had about 3 people each... so considering it was right around dinner time it wasn't too bad. I picked up a nice brie on discount for mere $5, a rather expensive but good-looking cranberry chicken salad wrap ($8.95), and a case of White Claw spiked seltzer (12-pack) for $19.99. $19.99?! Holy molly that's expensive! Comparing prices, it was about $3-6 more than Target or Walmart online, but I went with it anyway. A star deducted for being pricey overall. The wrap which I promptly opened up in the car cuz I was starving, was VERY good. Wrap was chewy and not at all dry, and the cranberry chicken salad tasted fresh, not overly sweet or salty and was a LOT more filling than they looked! They even provide little cup of crispy peanuts & dried cranberries on the side. I bought this as a snack and it ended up just becoming my dinner. Wow, I'm impressed, little wrap. Buyer beware the catering menu. Ridiculouss prices. Paid 80 bucks for simple pasta and coffee. 20 dollars worth of food. Not worth it. Purchased from them many times in the past, but things have changed. Never again. PS - Told the manager my concerns. They charged a different price for the coffee than what's on the menu (and tried to fight me on why he was somehow still justified) - refunded me the diff. Then on the boiled pasta for 50 bucks, basically said they have their own definition of what a half tray means in catering. They don't understand standard definitions. Employee told me pasta is 7 and change a pound. Should have been 21-28 dollars. Fleecing customers. Buyer beware. read more

This is a local store. Their food is excellent and tastes homemade. It's quite expensive, which I imagine is due to it being located in a wealthy area. A few times in the last few weeks, I went to the deli counter to order a bacon and egg sandwich on a roll. It costs $5.50, but it's delicious. Both times I went in around 5 p.m. The store closes at 8 p.m. Both times I was told they could not make my sandwich because they were cleaning the grill. There's a sign on the front of the store that advertises they serve egg sandwiches. If they only prepare them until a certain time of day they should add that to the signage. I was there appropriately about 2 or 3 weeks ago. I complained to one of the senior staff persons at the deli counter about this. First, he said he could make the sandwich in a pan, and it would take 20 minutes. To fry an egg? ? Then , he came back out from behind the counter, with his cellphone, talking to me like I'm stupid, showing me a picture of the grill and mansplaining to me why the grill was already broken down and why they can't make the sandwich. If I come in at 5 p.m., and the store is open until 8 p.m. during the week, I should be able to obtain what I order, unless it's out of stock. If they close the grill early, they should put up a sign indicating as such. I will not be back in that store. read more

I asked one of the cashiers where the soups were located intending to purchase Italian minestrone soup and she gave me a blank stare and said "the ramen noodles are over there" without even asking what kind of soup. Bayside milk farm is an excellent small business and local staple. Employees are kind members of this community who remember the regulars and are always available to help. Wholesome spot. The guy in the comments talking about non service dogs was probably the person yelling he would write a nasty review in the store when someone had what was clearly a service dog with them minding their own business. Came storming in and out. The place is hygienic people, but also caters to those in need of service animals. Most people in the store smile and wave at the animal legally allowed to be there. If possible I would give a review of minus 10 but the lowest rating is 1 star If you want to waste your money shop here. I am all for shopping at local family owned markets but they have made it impossible to shop there. I just came back from buying a few items including some sliced pepper jack cheese. I should have checked it before I left the store. The hint was that he rolled the package up like a roll. I get home and it is obvious that the cheese was old as it was a mess of crumbled cheese. Could not even get one hole slice out of 1/4 pound. It is now in my garbage can. Also be wary of the fruits and veggies. They are all old and about to expire. The gentleman who does the fruit will put in old fruit (like grapes) at the bottom of the bag which should be thrown out as and puts a some nice fresher on top so it looks like they are fresh. Better not him catch you tasting one. Be wary and always check expiration dates! It is not unusual to see items only a few days from expiration. Decided to give Bayside Milk Farm another try. I guess the only way to get your sandwiches made correctly is to go to the store yourself. For some reason if you order a Corned Beef Rueben online they will make you a plain Corned Beef sandwich, just bread and Corned Beef. Is it possible for the items purchased in the deli area to be labeled with the purchase date? I would love to be a returning customer but I can never figure out when I bought things when nothing is labeled. It seems very silly but seriously! I purchased salmon, have it in the fridge, and there is absolutely no label indicating when it was purchased. Very frustrating. I heard this from a few customers and neighbors..we can all agree...put some labels on the deli purchases with the date of purchase! Please :) It would make a HUGE difference! read more

There aren't enough words to describe how much I love this place. Have been a loyal customer for over 40 years. Their fruits and vegetables are the freshest, their bakery items like cakes and cookies (the ones made there) are the bomb - they have a chocolate crumb cake that's amazing....and their deli department is the best in Bayside! All the items in the deli dept are made right there in the back. Some of our favorites are the stuffed flounder, the ribs (when they have them), their homemade Mac and potato salads, really anything you get is fresh and delicious. And they make the best egg sandwiches around. And their meats??? Better than any supermarket- they're always fresh and although you may pay a little more getting your beef or chicken or sausages, you can relish in the thought that you're getting the best looking cuts of meat around. If you don't see what you want then you must be picky because they have something for everyone. Or just ask. The staff is amazing and they work their butts off starting at 6 am and they don't stop till closing. Bayside Milk Farm is for splurge days. That's what everyone tells me, anyway. I find myself there once a week buying myself stuff I cant find at the grocery stores near me. I usually go for jars and hard to find fruits and veggies. Cheese selection is alright depending on what they have in stock. Can't forget about the super yummy rainbow cookies!! I love it. It's no place to actually grocery shop, but I'd compare it to an extremely fancy Bodega where you can stop by in a pinch and pay more money for something you need right away. read more

Terrible! Don't ever order delivery from here. They tell me after 2 hours of waiting it's a glitch from grub hub when in fact what they do is accept the order and im guessing they are too lazy to do it and it never gets done. Then when I call some guy Danny tells me he doesn't know what happened and basically hangs up on me. This is the 3rd time this has happened to me. Don't ever order delivery from here. Ducking lazy people working over there I don't understand how I get a notification saying my order is ready AND delivered then I wait another hour and half and I have to call them to hear a story of BS. Terrible terrible terrible. Fire whoever and hire new people who know how to run a deli I will never order here again. Great spot in Bayside! Always has fresh made salads ready to go, especially love their macaroni salad. It is the absolute best in the neighborhood. They will make you any type of sandwich with their delicious breads. Their prepared meals are always great. Don't feel like cooking just grab one of their Togo's or you could even have them make you a new one on the spot. By putting in MSG /flavor enhancers in the prepared food they are driving away 5% of the population who has a sensitivity to these additives. I ordered Chicken francese and proceeded to have a bad reaction ,bad sleep after consuming. Something as easy to prepare as this dish does not need msg type products. This is for the deli: 1- Sandwiches are around $10.00. Lettuce and tomatoes are included in the price. For this price, I expect more condiments to be INCLUDED, rather than being charged extra for EACH condiment. 2- Bread was not fresh. I grew up with Bayside Milk Farm and remember it so fondly from my high school days. We used to grab sandwiches and stuff from the deli all the time but it has literally been 25+ years since I've walked back in. Looking for a quality hero today, I searched high and low on Yelp but man - the options are far and few. In my opinion, there's really no sandwich better than a classic, NY deli hero or roll (specifically, a Queens deli) .. but times are just different now, and so many neighborhood delis have gone and been replaced by trendier concept shops like cafes. With even old faithful Cherry Valley having gone way downhill, the search led me to checking out BMF after all these years. It is still very much the way I remember it. A neighborhood mart chock full of inventory, every little nook and cranny piled with items. I was super hesitant after reading some of the reviews about poor safety conditions during this time of Covid, bad service, etc. But to the deli counter I went. There were fully staffed with about 5 men working busily, restocking and cleaning. They were spraying down the glass displays, and scrubbing the meat slicer. All had masks and gloves. There was social distancing encouraged with spaced out markers taped on the floor. Service was jist fine with someone tending to me right away. I ordered two heroes but they were all out of hero bread. A young man quickly offered a solution by grabbing one of the more specialty hero breads that they sell, saying that they could use that for two sandwiches. We had the American and the Italian, each at $11.40 each. Both were well-made, with the man patiently slicing all the components, nothing missing, as described on the menu. We also got some macaroni and potato salad, both good. While waiting for our sandwiches, I took a look around at all the many deli foods, salads, breads and desserts - all looked freshly stocked and plentiful. (Will need to try some tiramisu next time.) Thankfully, no bad experience to speak of unlike some of the reviews. I'll definitely be going back again to see if I continue to experience consistent quality and service.
