Upscale asian bistro with unique and perfectly crafted dishes and cocktails. Service was fast and the waitress was very helpful describing the menu. Gorgeous presentation and aesthetic interior. Great place to go for a celebration. Everything we tried tasted amazing!! (the best ramen we have ever had, would highly recommend)

This was a very pleasant dinner experience. The food was good although a bit overpriced for the quality and the volume. Service was outstanding seeing that it was Christmas Day. Overall a good experience but not sure that we will return all the time primarily because of the high prices.

Cancellation at 4:13 for a 4:45 reservation

Getting a reservation in Gainesville on a football weekend or graduation is almost impossible. In late March I was able to reserve a table for 4 to celebrate my son's graduation on May 3. We had a 3 hour window between the two ceremonies and Sensei was going to be the perfect place to celebrate. A table was available for 4 on Open Table at 4:45. On May 2 I received a confirmation that the table would be ready. As we were driving to Sensei to celebrate this milestone a message popped up at 4:13 that the restaurant cancelled. No phone call, just a text and when I tried to call the line kept ringing busy. How disappointing and how unprofessional. A simple call explaining would have gone a long way. If you thought this was my last year going to Gainesville... you are so wrong. I have 3 years left! I will NEVER recommend this restaurant nor will I ever step foot inside.

This is one of those times I wish there were a half star option but alas. The ambiance of the place is great - nice decor, dimly lit, perfect for a nice dinner or date night. The service was wonderful as everyone was super nice and helpful. Unfortunately the food is where we took a downturn and I didn't feel the prices of the dishes/drinks were justified. Drinks - margarita and old fashioned were ok however not even half the glass was full for the OF with the ice cube, not nearly worth the price Lobster wonton - nothing that you probably haven't had before but good Negi toro maki - not bad, not great. Wouldn't order again Miso glazed Chilean sea bass - actually almost inedible due to the overly sweet miso butter emulsion on top, would not pay $20 let alone $48 Sichuan chili chicken - this was the most enjoyable dish and actually tasty, only thing I'd return for

Came for the happy hour and got the tofu starter. It was ok, but wasn't really flavorful, but the plating was beautiful. We ate outside, which was very tranquil and the indoor area looked very fancy. Good service. I'd come back to try some of the other vegetarian menu items I was just underwhelmed with this dish, but it looked like a work of art.

I ate here for a holiday party. The service was friendly and attentive. The prices here are high but the food is very good. I really recommend the fried tofu appetizer. The presentation was stunning and the flavor was amazing. The XO shrimp and scallop could have used some spice or acid. That is the only reason this is a 4 star review and not a 5.

Decided to check this place out which is conveniently located in Celebration pointe. First of all, this is about $$$ semi-fine dining restaurant, not a general asian cuisine you would find on the street. However, it appears that there is no dress code. Each dish is about ~$30-50 depending on what you get. The server was courteous and asked us frequently if we needed anything else all throughout the dining experience. The food was mediocre though for the price point in my honest opinion. Would recommend considering as an option for the semi-fine dining experience!

One of the best food experiences we've ever had. Service was excellent and ambiance was so luxurious and soothing. Added to our Top three restaurants ever. Wow.

The food was beautifully prepared and the layers of flavor made every bite delectable!! The service was terrific as well seeing that we didn't have a reservation and were there close to closing time due to late Final Four finish - Go Gators!! A real treat for anyone in Gainesville!

Drinks... lychee Martino, Thai sangria, a mojito I don't remember the name and a limited edition Barbie drink.

Dinner for JUST THE FOUR OF US Saturday night two weeks ago. This was my second time here and it did not disappoint. This is my number one absolute favorite in Gainesville for elevated dining. We've had just about everything on the menu. Appetizer highlights are the lobster wontons and wagyu foie Gras is to die for but the rockstar is the wagyu New York strip steak. Wow! Holy smokes. We've had wagyu steaks in many cities of our great country and this quality has been one of the best. Highly recommend for a special occasion as this deliciousness will set you back US$150.- but we'll worth every Penny. I recommend sitting with Zoe either at the bar or request her for your table. She is an amazing professional who offers enough conversation without overcrowding your dinner. We love her! I left some pictures which speak for themselves. Run don't walk to this establishment and don't forget to make reservations so Mavis the manager doesn't get mad at you for just walking in.

Wow, another Gainesville gem! I was recommended this restaurant by my close friend who often comes here to eat. Located conveniently in Celebration Pointe, we came here for dinner. First off, the service was amazing, all the waitresses were so sweet and it was nice seeing them be so hospitable to us. We got seated quickly after having a table reserved, and waters were brought out. I ordered the Lobster Wonton for an appetizer, as well as the Mongolian Ribeye Steak for my entrée! The wontons were piping hot, and scrumptious with the lobster meat and cream cheese filling. When I took the first bite of the steak, I was blown away. It was warm, tender and juicy. Paired with the side of rice and the veggies, it made for a filling and delicious meal. I greatly enjoyed the dish, and my friends said the Tofu & Vegetable Curry was delicious as well! Overall, I had a great experience here and will definitely visit again. We even got to try a complimentary dish from the chef! With amazing service and delectable dishes, this is definitely a win in my book!

Delish and fresh sashimi is the highlight here. Beautiful plating. The lobster fried rice was also excellent. A bit pricey, but to be expected for top notch ingredients. Wonderful service.

To start, the aesthetics of this place are really beautiful. It's clean and there is a choice of both indoor and outdoor seating. I came for lunch around 12 and there was only one other table. The service is attentive which is great. For lunch, I had the Philly egg rolls and the Sichuan chili chicken with a side of Furikake rice. The presentation was beautiful! The chicken was crispy and fresh. The reason why I'm giving for stars is two-fold: first, although the food is fresh and looks like it's well seasoned, to me both the chicken and the philly egg rolls were underseasoned. Furthermore, the lunch prices are just a tad bit high for Gainesville, by like 1-3 bucks. All if the lunch entrees are a la carte and the Furikake rice was $3. A side of white rice is only $1 (it's not on the menu) so essentially you're paying 2 extra bucks for them to sprinkle some sushi seasoning on top of it.

It wasn't exactly what I was going for, but that's more on me than the place. We also got a Pick Two combo: a strawberry banana smoothie (with oat milk, banana, strawberries, flax seeds, and agave) and the Thai Chicken Crunch salad (romaine, red cabbage, roasted chicken, carrots, celery, and wontons). Everything was decent and fresh, just nothing that really stood out flavor-wise. We took everything to go since we were busy getting her room set up, and it worked for what we needed--a quick, fairly healthy option. One thing I wish they offered was a smaller portion size; everything felt a bit too much for a light lunch.

My friend and I met after we parked our bikes. She was sitting outside, and as I was locking my bike, less than a block away, she texted me. I just walked to her without responding, and with a smile and a hug, we walked in to look at the menu. The sandwiches have some very creative names that go along with their creative construction. I got a #10, which was a fusion of French dip and Philly cheese!! I wanna buy the person a beer, whoever thought of that one! Even though it was busy, we didn't wait long to order. Every sandwich comes in a paper bag, so you can take it out or stay and munch. We got a combo with chips and a drink, because how else do you eat a big sandwich like this?! There are board games to play, decor that is not typical and a big display of Guy Fieri, from the Food Network, that lets you know this place is on America's culinary map. After the sandwiches were done, I brought them out to my friend Kimberly, who was saving our table. We both were hungry, so out of the wrap and in with the teeth. Mine was full of flavor and the fact that all the sandwiches are heat-pressed, made the texture very satisfying. The au jus was thick and delicious and made me think someone took great time and effort to make it. It is a casual restaurant, great for a date or a group of friends, or a solo quick lunch, that can also be a dinner as well. The food is somewhat pricey, but it delivers as a good meal with a creative touch. They could have emptied the garbage can more quickly, as it was more than overflowing, when I went to throw the garbage away. Memorable food, and makes me want to come back to try at least two other sandwiches that I read about.

Located in midtown, this appears to a fast casual place that caters towards college students. They serve "Greek" street food, salads, quesadillas, burgers, and more. The food is relatively inexpensive. Service is fine, actually the people working there are friendly. Food is made to order and comes out quickly. There is some seating available inside (it's limited) but there are plenty of tables in the hall. I ordered the Street Chicken Souvlaki which included grilled chicken with tomato, onion, fries inside a pita, topped with ketchup and mustard. This was a very large portion. The pita was good, but pretty much fell apart the second I picked it up. While I liked the chicken, it was over seasoned and I didn't care for the "sauced" quality of it. I'm not sure if they marinated it or tossed it in some sauce, but it was too much. The fries were decent, but not super crispy. I felt that they were not necessarily and a little over-the-top. The tomato was fresh and but the red onion slices were very thick. The mustard and ketchup didn't work with the seasonings on the chicken. The dish was just all over the place and I couldn't even finish half of it before I started feeling sick. I ordered a side of onion rings as well. This was a large order and the size was great. But these onion rings were over-battered and were fresh, but not crispy at all. I bit into one and ended up pulling out the whole onion rings. Not good. Overall, I was very disappointed with my experience. The food was so heavy and overly salted I couldn't even eat half of it. I ended up giving it to a homeless person on the way out. The food left my stomach in shambles the rest of the day. Service is fine. But the food is not desirable. It is safe to say I will not be returning, which is unfortunate.

Wait to order wasn't too bad and we found a table outside, but nobody was bussing any tables so basically customers sitting down were left clearing the dishes from the table of the people before them & wiping down the table. Nobody from the restaurant came out to help or apologize and it wasn't until dishes were almost toppling out of the bin that anyone took them away. Menu is pretty diverse - you can get some traditional items or more eclectic. We ordered the green goddess salad, croque mademoiselle (ham & cheese sandwich) on gluten free bread & okonomiyaki (japanese pancakes with cloud eggs). It took probably 30 min to get our food. The food presentation is really lovely & feels special when it's delivered. However, taste left something to be desired. The Japanese pancakes weren't good. The egg specifically looked really pretty all puffed up, but was so bad none of us were willing to have more than one bite. There were some other funky flavors going on there as well that detracted from enjoying it. The ham & cheese sandwich was okay, but the cheese is put on the outside, including a runny cheese, so it's a total mess to try and eat. Definitely do not order this one on a date! We ended up just eating the inside portion. It does come with a small green goddess type salad, which is nice. The entree green goddess appeared great when delivered. Loved the light, fresh dressing and ingredients. However, lots of the lettuce had sort of rotting tips, which made me worried to eat it especially since this isn't the cleanest place. Despite appreciating the quirkiness of the restaurant and the selection of fresh options they offer, we won't be returning.
